DERNIER ÉPISODE 🔗
When I was growing up in England I remember seeing the Stuart Highway in Australia, running down the centre of the continent from top to bottom. Actually driving it 4 times was an adventure, meeting random people, seeing random things, with lots of time to think. Musically I used bagpipes as a hom…

To be fair, most of these were hundreds of kilometres from a town, so they just get left in the sun to gradually deteriorate. It just occurred to me one day driving to use them as an analogy for a broken heart …
A song about divorce / separation, when it's clear that one of the people just used the other, and is now moving on taking all the advantages and benefits.
This song was written about being separated from my daughters, and how I felt I had let them down by not being stronger, and able to work through personal circumstances better. I guess any parent could relate to the underlying concept here. Musically there's influences from AC/DC and general 'aussi…
A song written all about Australia, and specifically the Northern territory. Anyone who has spent time in the NT will "get" this song immediately :-)

Strange, but this experience feels the same today as it did when I was a teenager. Musically it's a fairly basic indie pop song, but nothing wrong with tha…
This is such a personal song, that I couldn't write bland lyrics, so just did the basics that felt right, and let the music carry the emotion.
A vaguely auto-biographical song judging by the title. I always felt too serious, and unable to have fun - the exception being when I am with my children.
