What better day than Friday the 13th to check that your backups are actually working by restoring some critical files?

Apple marked its sixth consecutive quarter of accelerating revenue growth, saw the iPhone X boost the average selling price of iPhones to new heights, and further expanded its services and wearables businesses.
When it comes to Apple News, TidBITS readers either use it or they don’t — there isn’t a lot of middle ground. Some of that is due to geographic limitations. What’s your opinion?
The Royole Moon claims to be a “3D mobile theater” that provides a “truly immersive, 3D movie watching or gaming experience.” And it does, but that can prove awkward in the real world.
Those of you with non-Touch Bar models of the 13-inch MacBook Pro should swing by Apple's Web site to see if your Mac may be covered by a program that replaces batteries that could expand, damaging the laptop.
Do you use Apple News? We’re running a survey to see how often you turn to the News app to find out what’s happening in the world. And we’re happy to announce that TidBITS is now fully available in Apple News Format.
If you’re running macOS 10.13.3 High Sierra, and you restart, it’s possible that you’ll see an Installation Log screen and an error telling you that the macOS installation couldn’t be completed. Here’s how to recover.
Last year at WWDC, Apple said that High Sierra would be the last version of macOS to run 32-bit apps “without compromise.” The recently released macOS 10.13.4 takes the next step in that direction by alerting users the first time they launch a 32-bit app. Here’s what we know.
iOS 11 quietly introduced a camera level that helps you take pictures that don't suffer from skewed sides. Read on to learn how you enable and use this subtle feature.
If you rely on a third-party solution like AirDisplay, DisplayLink, Duet, or iDisplay for extending your display to a second screen, hold off on upgrading to macOS 10.13.4 High Sierra, since it currently breaks those products.
