The Washington Commanders are getting closer to roster cut day, and Sean Anderson is projecting the team's final 53-man roster on offense. There are several decisions still left for Washington, including a surprising quarterback competition, a crowded wide receiver room and major questions along the offensive line. The biggest surprise comes at quarterback. After two strong preseason performances, Sean believes rookie Athan Kaliakmanis has done enough to potentially take the QB3 job away from Sam Hartman. Jayden Daniels remains locked in as Washington's franchise quarterback, Marcus Mariota remains one of the better backup quarterbacks in the NFL, but the third quarterback spot has suddenly become a real competition. Kaliakmanis has shown arm talent, confidence and the ability to operate the offense, giving Washington a difficult decision before cut day. The running back room appears more settled. Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Rachaad White and Kaytron Allen are projected to make the roster, while Robert Henry Jr. remains a player to watch after a difficult stretch. A strong preseason finale could determine whether Henry keeps his spot. Wide receiver is another fascinating position group. Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs and rookie Antonio Williams are considered safe, but the battle behind them remains competitive. Sean projects Luke McCaffrey, Dyami Brown, Treylon Burks and Jaylin Lane as the final pieces, while noting that Jaden Bradley could force his way into the conversation with another strong preseason performance. At tight end, Washington appears comfortable with its top options, including Chig Okonkwo and John Bates. The biggest concern comes along the offensive line. Sean believes Washington's starting group is better than many fans believe, but the depth remains a concern. With Laremy Tunsil potentially starting the season on injured reserve, Washington may need to continue searching for help before Week 1 against Philadelphia. The Commanders are trying to become a serious contender in the NFC, and roster decisions at the margins could determine whether this team has enough depth to compete throughout the season.
