Improving Case Acceptance Through Patient-Centered Dentistry with Drs. Charlie Ward & Chris Mazzola

In this episode of the Disruptive Dental Science Podcast, host Dr. Ashton Prince talks with Dr. Chris Mazzola and Dr. Charlie Ward about building practice systems that improve efficiency and case acceptance by focusing on patient-centered outcomes rather than “selling” procedures like crowns or scaling and root planing. They outline a new-patient workflow starting with an experiential phone call, intentional front-desk greeting, and forms that guide risk and prognosis, followed by a private preclinical interview in a consult room, a practice tour, and a customized approach to their care. They emphasize presenting treatment by connecting periodontal disease, function, esthetics, and overall health to the patient’s stated goals, starting small with simple systems, and developing a growth-minded team anchored in core values, purpose, leadership, and consistent meeting cadence.
