I am also the co editor of a brand new book called Transbiblical New Approaches to Interpretation and Embodiment in Scripture.
This book is published by Westminster John Knox Press and comes out on April 7, 2025. This podcast is an extension of the book. The book is a collection of essays that talks about transgender identity, non binary identities and more. And the Bible. Above all, this is a trans positive podcast.
The book is a deep dive for scholars and those immersed in academic discussions. But the podcast is for everyone. Whether you're brand new to these ideas, whether you're already on board, or whether you have a lot of questions, this is a place for you to sit down and listen and get ideas.
We're going to break down complex academic ideas into everyday language. There'll be personal stories, there'll be insights. It will be very listener friendly and invite you to see the Bible in new ways. The conversations here will cover all sorts of gender identities and the ways that they intersect with the Bible.
it's no secret that there's a lot of people out there using the Bible in really hateful ways. And, and we want to do that a little differently here, actually, a lot differently. We want this to be a voice for justice, for compassion, and above all, for celebrating lots of gender identities.
