Halftime Huddle: From Fandom & Scandals to Rivalries & Revenue

The Shrink Down (00:01.388)
Welcome back to the shrink down with the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics coming up. We thought this would be a great time to talk about sports. So we're going to be hitting all the hot topics in sports from community connection to more complicated sides like inclusion, representation, and some of the kind of more drama that hits the sports scene. But before we get into today's topic, we're going to do our four minute phase. Remember today who wants to start with their fave.

Teri (00:25.519)
I can go first. Mine's quick. So spring might seem far away, but I also know time flies by, especially the older we get. And so it'll be here before we know it. And I know I cannot wait. I can't wait, man. I know I can't wait. We've all been in the drudges of tons of snow and below zero day after day. Yes, snow days and all the garbage that comes with winter. But

The Shrink Down (00:27.182)
All right.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (00:36.634)
Yay. I'm good with that. my gosh.

The Shrink Down (00:38.2)
Cannot wait.

Wilhelmina (00:45.109)
Cold.

The Shrink Down (00:47.35)
Snow days.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (00:48.678)
so many, so many.

The Shrink Down (00:53.255)
Hahaha.

Teri (00:54.785)
I am so I'm always trying to find jeans that I really like. I'm sure we all are. And I have a variety of jeans, cheap jeans, expensive jeans. I have a couple pairs of like high end ones I usually get from Nordstrom's because I like their return policy and the altar and hem for free. And I'm short. But the jeans that I realize I have been grabbing the most more than my more expensive pairs are American Eagle. So American Eagle outfitters, which

Wilhelmina (00:59.433)
Mm-hmm.

The Shrink Down (01:00.62)
always.

Wilhelmina (01:11.89)
Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (01:20.837)
Mmm, yeah.

Wilhelmina (01:20.841)
Ooh.

The Shrink Down (01:20.867)
Mmm.

Teri (01:23.193)
I want to say I used to shop there in high school and college. Yeah, they their jeans are awesome. They come in regular length, short length, probably long length, all different styles, different washes. And I am finding myself and they have lots of sales. So you can get a good pair of jeans for like 40 or 50 bucks. And I am very impressed with the quality, the wearability, the durability. They're the ones that I keep grabbing the most. So

Wilhelmina (01:25.829)
yeah, yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (01:26.854)
For sure, yes.

Teri (01:52.195)
If you are wanting to try a different brand as you're thinking about jeans for the spring and summer, I would check out American Eagle. And I just order a ton online and then I just return what doesn't work.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (02:00.121)
And can I, I was gonna, and I will add those are Tim's favorite jeans as well for wearing to the airport with like a blazer. Like they have like a, I don't even know what you would call it, professional slim fit for men. Just as an extra aside, yeah, he'll wear those.

Teri (02:14.353)
good to know. Since I don't think my husband has bought an item of clothing for himself in about 16 or 17 years. So good to know. Yep.

The Shrink Down (02:16.238)
Well, that's good to know.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (02:22.071)
I was going to say, and if you're ordering online anyway, just get his sizing. And yeah, they do have some really nice options for men as well.

Teri (02:31.589)
Okay, cool.

The Shrink Down (02:32.046)
I've seen a lot of influencers posting about them. And then I swear every time I go to find a short length, because I'm also in the short club, they're sold out. So they must be really popular. I'm like, oh my gosh. The pairs that I've looked at, they've always been sold out. I'm like, these must be really popular, that they never have shorts.

Wilhelmina (02:38.121)
Yes.

Teri (02:40.187)
They're not, they're not. Yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (02:40.309)
Ow.

Teri (02:48.535)
And I felt reluctant because I'm like, is this just an am I only doing this because I'm it's an influencer thing and it's what keeps showing up on my Instagram. But then it's been I have maybe I like them. got maybe four pairs. Yeah, think it's worth a try and easy to return and ship back. So you don't even have to go to the store if you don't want people think you're shopping for your child and you're not. Yeah. Yes, yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (02:56.517)
But if you like them, yeah, yeah, that's awesome. It's a good recommendation.

The Shrink Down (02:57.836)
Yeah, it's a good nice way to try things, I think. Yeah. Yeah. Cool.

Wilhelmina (02:58.409)
Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (03:08.377)
Yeah, you don't have to go in, you don't have to go in and interact with the teenager that's working there. Yes, right, yeah. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (03:09.78)
You're teen.

The Shrink Down (03:14.062)
you

Wilhelmina (03:14.269)
I'll just go in with Maddie. They'll just assume I'm shopping with her.

Teri (03:17.585)
I went into that Airy store, which is owned by them because a lot of my nieces shop there and my 10-year-old Danny in the corner filled out a job application and put all of my info down and turned it in to yes. And they emailed me. And I said, thank you very, yeah, I could. I could. Yeah, he loves a good prank. That was a good one. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (03:30.955)
my god. Fill in the blank!

The Shrink Down (03:35.342)
Yeah, you can just count. my gosh. That is funny.

Wilhelmina (03:36.703)
So you have a new part-time job. You have a new part-time job, okay.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (03:39.775)
You could use the discount.

That's actually hysterical.

Wilhelmina (03:46.621)
That is good.

Teri (03:47.675)
So yeah, how about you Lauren?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (03:50.278)
That's funny. So my recommendation is also sort of related to the depths and the drudgery of winter and hoping for spring. But it's actually an account, an Instagram account. OK, I'm going to tell you guys to look them up and follow them because it's bringing so much joy to what is otherwise like 12 month January. And I know this will be coming out the beginning of February, but it feels like these last

what, five, six weeks have been forever. The name of the account is Josh and Jace. Okay, they're these guys from England. So it's Josh and Jace, all like one word, lowercase. And they came to America the first week of January and picked Michigan of all places to tour through. their philosophy is why would we come to a place when...

It's where everybody says you should go and it's beautiful and it's easy like Michigan in the summer, like going up north or something like that. We're going to come and like really get to know your state like when you're in the depths of our, I don't know, depths of our Michigan depression, right? my gosh, they're bringing so much joy. The boys and I are looking at their little updates every day. It looks like this is the third state they've visited. So they pick a state. So it looks like they've been in Texas from what I can tell.

Wilhelmina (05:01.801)
winter.

The Shrink Down (05:02.658)
Winter.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (05:16.299)
and then maybe somewhere else down south. But this is the first time they've been up in this Midwest area. And for all of our listeners in Michigan, as well as that Chicagoland area, you know how wonderful Michigan can be in the summer to visit. But they are picking all these different activities, and they're hysterical in their accents. I mean, so fun. And it's PG. It's PG content highlighting the best of what social media should be, in my opinion.

Teri (05:37.777)
you

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (05:45.774)
so you can watch them, the little clips with your family. They're on YouTube as well, but that's where we've been sort of following them is on Instagram. And of course, I mean, personally, they're highlighting our state, but if they were in Illinois or something, it's just so fun to see them like do different things that we don't even think about as Americans and find like such joy in it. Like they are like blown away by the Great Lakes and the beauty of the Great Lakes in the winter, right? Like things that I don't know, it's helping put a really positive spin.

Wilhelmina (06:08.937)
Yeah.

The Shrink Down (06:10.574)
take advantage.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (06:14.025)
this area that we all live. And they're a really fun follow. So if you need something just like wholesome and light in these dark days to look at, I would highly recommend them as a quick follow. Josh and Jace.

Wilhelmina (06:29.555)
Well, Lauren, it's funny that you say that the reason they're going to Michigan now is because they want to see it during the like not popular time because as you guys know, I continually, I'm from Minnesota. I continually talk about like moving back or whatever. And my husband's like, I'm like, you guys love Minnesota. And he's like, cause we're there in the summer. It's lovely in the summer. He's like, I don't want to be in Minnesota in March. And I'm like,

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (06:36.077)
Yeah. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (06:49.359)
Right? Right?

The Shrink Down (06:52.48)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (06:57.027)
Right. Right. Yeah, it's been very, it's, yes, it's very funny watching them experience things. And I guess I didn't realize the climate in England is much milder.

Wilhelmina (06:57.321)
Well, I don't want to be in Minnesota in March either, but you know, pretty much every other month of the year, I'm okay with it. But to that, to your point, you know, the winter is a bit rough.

Wilhelmina (07:15.677)
Yeah, yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (07:17.261)
I because they are blown away by like our temperatures, the ice, the snow, they I mean, so it's just been fun, like putting a little spin on what we all look at and dread every single day this time of year. And they are just like finding such joy in it. So it's a good it's a fun little follow.

Wilhelmina (07:34.313)
There was a funny Instagram video recently of like, was two popular ones, but it was like a guy from Colorado and he was like talking to a Midwestern-er during the winter. And he was like heading out the door, not dressed very, like with a lot of bulk. And the Midwestern-er was like, ooh, you're gonna need, you know, a little bit. He's like, I'm from Colorado, it's fine. And he goes out and comes back in and he's like, my God, what is that? And he's like, yeah, that's the Midwest winter. And he's like,

Teri (07:34.513)
There was a funny Instagram video recently of like, was two popular ones, but it was like a guy from.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (07:48.889)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (07:52.835)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (08:00.325)
The river!

The Shrink Down (08:01.112)
Yeah.

Wilhelmina (08:04.297)
Well, well, at least you guys have the hills. He's like, no, we don't have hills. They're like, then why are you living here?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (08:08.397)
right. Right. So yes, it's that kind of content. So I very much appreciate it. I would take a look at it. They're fun little 30 second reels and clips and things like that. And you don't have to be from Michigan to enjoy it because they really sort of like highlight what should be the good in social media. So Wilhelmina, what about you?

Wilhelmina (08:15.583)
Love it.

Wilhelmina (08:27.283)
but well, this is actually a great segue. So I'm recommending a book, The Amazing Generation.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (08:31.635)
good.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (08:35.894)
I'm...nice!

The Shrink Down (08:36.354)
Yes, I've heard so much.

Teri (08:36.835)
It just got delivered to my front porch an hour ago.

Wilhelmina (08:40.755)
Yay! So this is written for kids. It is part book, part graphic novel, and it is a lot of the information that was in The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, but it is put into a readable format for kids. So it

really is like instead of parents lecturing their kids on like don't have cell phones and they're bad and all of that, it's actually meant for kids to like take in this information and giving them this knowledge so that they feel sort of maybe empowered to make that choice for themselves. So I have been reading through it. It is like a lot of good information. The main themes are like using tech as a tool.

Technology can be great. A lot of the aspects to the phone, the calendar, things like that can be great, but not using it for filling your life with friends, keeping those experiences for real life situations. So make real friends, go out and experience real things. Go to Michigan during the winter for real. Do things like that, right? And so it's really trying to empower the kids.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (09:54.499)
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

The Shrink Down (09:54.584)
Yeah.

Teri (09:55.727)
Mm.

Wilhelmina (10:01.429)
to make that choice instead of kind of like, well, yeah, my mom won't let me have a cell phone, you know, kind of thing.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (10:06.457)
Yes.

The Shrink Down (10:06.637)
Yeah.

Teri (10:06.897)
How has it gone over with your kids, the content? How has it landed with them?

Wilhelmina (10:10.581)
It has not landed yet because I wanted to read through it first so that then I kind of can talk to them about it. So I'll let you know. I think they're going to like it.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (10:14.693)
good. Good for you. Yeah.

The Shrink Down (10:16.502)
Yeah.

The Shrink Down (10:24.622)
Are planning on just giving it to them? Like, because I've heard a couple of parents say like, I'm reading it with my kids and then other parents just giving it to their kid. And I'm assuming that age will probably matter, but you tell me like, what was your, what's your plan?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (10:34.287)
Dictate, yeah.

Wilhelmina (10:35.273)
I was, my plan was to finish it myself and then give it to Maddie or Griffin and then give it to the other. And then, and I'm actually saying this is going to be our first Family Book Club book. So we're gonna all read it and then we're gonna like talk about it. So I'm gonna actually have Owen read it too. And that's how I presented it.

Teri (10:37.787)
Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (10:45.241)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (10:49.571)
I love it.

The Shrink Down (10:49.598)
Cool. I like that.

Teri (10:55.695)
I'm stealing this idea.

The Shrink Down (10:57.368)
I like that.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (10:57.893)
I was going to say I have it here. And so that's what I'm going to do. I'll start it. And then I love this idea because we can only say so many times, would you like me to print off a research article that shows you why I think Sam is ready? Like his eyes are in the back of his head. soon as I... I'd be happy to print off the article.

The Shrink Down (11:00.522)
Yeah. Okay. That's a great idea, well, I mean.

Wilhelmina (11:14.217)
As their, I was like, as their eyes are rolling, yeah.

The Shrink Down (11:15.152)
my gosh. Anytime I go to Ed, I'm like, do you want to hear something that I, and then she's like, let me guess, research, you read something.

Teri (11:15.153)
Hahaha

Teri (11:23.409)
Mm-hmm

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (11:26.957)
Yeah, this is, I love that he did this.

Teri (11:29.885)
And I will, I do think kids have some interest in it. So the book, I'd like to have Emily Edlin on one of these episodes, but the autonomy supported parenting book that I recommended a couple months ago, I had it sitting, it's our school book club this like school year that like the principals encouraging the parents to read, we have a couple book club discussions throughout the year that I helped facilitate. And I had the book sitting in our kitchen and my oldest Danny came.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (11:40.579)
Yeah. Yeah.

Teri (11:55.919)
walked by and said, why are you reading this? And I said, well, twofold. I said, one, sort of for work, you know, like, just in terms of my job. And secondly, because I'm a parent and I think it'll help me with parenting. And he was so sweet and goes, could you save that for me so that I can read it when I have kids?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (12:12.581)
No.

The Shrink Down (12:12.824)
All the same.

Wilhelmina (12:12.862)
Aww.

Teri (12:14.095)
So I do think there's this interest that kids have about like, and I said to him, go, I've never been a parent before. And I said, I don't know how to do this. Just like you've never been a kid before. Yeah, exactly.

The Shrink Down (12:22.286)
Mm-hmm. I'll do that all the time. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (12:25.411)
Like why we make the decisions we make. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (12:27.797)
I say that all the time. I'm like, this is my first time being a parent.

The Shrink Down (12:27.822)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (12:31.365)
It's my first time doing this.

The Shrink Down (12:31.406)
of however the old they are too, right? Like I've never had a, my kid's nine now, I've never had a nine year old.

Teri (12:31.589)
Yes. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (12:36.49)
Right.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (12:36.537)
Right. I've never done sixth grade math before.

Teri (12:40.122)
Yeah.

Wilhelmina (12:40.659)
I've never played whiplash with both my kids taking turns hating me all day long. It's so fun. It's so fun. Well, trying to regulate and not get lost in it.

The Shrink Down (12:44.155)
laughter

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (12:46.149)
Give me a minute.

Ha ha

Teri (12:53.617)
How about you, Vanessa?

Wilhelmina (12:53.845)
I love it.

The Shrink Down (12:55.974)
okay. So since it's sports theme, I thought I would share a sports related fave of mine. so my sister last winter gifted me this Chicago bears sweatshirt. Sorry. And it's, it's Abercrombie. They have the best sweater. is okay. So not only is it super cute, ta-da, it is the softest material. And so because she's such a good gift giver.

Wilhelmina (13:08.864)
that's so cute.

Teri (13:09.179)
Why haven't you sent me that?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (13:11.75)
Aw, so cute. Yes, they've got great stuff. Yeah. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (13:13.301)
The Shrink Down (13:25.004)
She gave me this one this year. And it's so cute. And it's so soft. I just love, I keep telling everyone who will listen, it's so soft. live in, now I have two of them that I live in. I'm constantly wearing them. I just checked their website. So they have this one still, but not in the bears. So they have a really cute lion's wand. they have, yeah, super cute. Yes, yes. But this year they do still have, I don't know if,

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (13:26.551)
Aww, I love, yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (13:38.501)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (13:45.753)
I was going to say my cousin has the lion's one from last year and it's adorable. Yes.

The Shrink Down (13:52.943)
they make different quantities for different teams. like there's limited bears stuff, but there's a bears hoodie that looks like the sweater from last year, but it's a hoodie. So if you're a bears fan, the navy blue hoodie is there and it's super cute. Um, the one I'm wearing is from this year and they still have lots of teams, but just not the bears anymore. But the quality is like 10 out of 10. So good. And just like American Eagle, they always have sales. Um, it's a little bit oversized. I like, you guys know that my sweatshirts are like extra extra large. I wear them.

ridiculously large. So if you just like them a little bit oversized, then I would say probably get your regular size because they are a bit oversized. But if you like them over oversized, I would say go up a size. But they're just such good quality. I've washed them a million times and they still look great. And they just they feel so soft. It's like a little I feel like I'm wrapped in a cloud.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (14:26.149)
You're normal.

Wilhelmina (14:43.581)
What's the price point? What's the price point?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (14:43.877)
I've got get down.

Teri (14:45.338)
or jealous.

The Shrink Down (14:46.854)
you know, I don't they were gifts so I don't know off the top of my head. but when I like when I looked I know that they were on sale and I don't think they were anything egregious Yes, I don't think it was anything egregious maybe like $50 45 Yeah

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (14:54.575)
was going to say this is a good time to buy it.

Yeah, I think that sounds right.

Wilhelmina (15:00.024)
that's not bad. Okay. Yeah. Well, I only...

Teri (15:02.065)
Do you think they come out with more pre football season? Like, do think they'll come out with more next summer? Okay.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (15:05.049)
Yeah, yes, they do.

The Shrink Down (15:07.254)
Yes, because last year, my other ones from last year, they don't have that one anymore. And this was new to this year. So they're always coming out with new stuff. It's my favorite. So good. Yes, I know. I love it. So my sister knows anything that's Chicago that I'm a fan of. So she always gets me Chicago things. So that's my share. And it's funny, because American Eagle, Abercrombie has been around forever. I was not.

Teri (15:14.533)
Don't ever donate that. Give it to me if you ever decide to get rid of it. We have lots of people. Yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (15:15.587)
Yeah. Vintage. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (15:20.981)
you

Wilhelmina (15:33.951)
forever.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (15:34.169)
rather.

The Shrink Down (15:36.118)
I I missed that whole boat of, I remember the stores, I remember people being popular, but I didn't shop there. Probably because in high school I was shopping at like the thrift store. I don't know, I missed that whole thing, but I don't know.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (15:40.751)
High school, yeah.

Teri (15:46.075)
I think it got really popular a couple years after we were out of, I think it was getting popular. Was it popular where you were at?

Wilhelmina (15:50.651)
Mm-mm. It was popular for me when it was during the flannel grunge like stage. So I have like, I got my flannels from Abercrombie. And then it continued in popularity during the like tiny tees and all of that. And then the models. So it actually sort of had different peaks of, yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (15:53.283)
Yeah, same.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (16:10.639)
phases.

Teri (16:10.757)
Yeah.

The Shrink Down (16:11.042)
Yeah. So, but yeah, so that yes, good quality, the NFL, there's even like an NFL tab, like have like all the NFL gear, like jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, all stuff.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (16:18.979)
Yeah, it's a big, yeah, it's a, yeah. And some youth stuff in NFL too.

Wilhelmina (16:23.433)
Way better than going to Dick's, way better than going to Dick's Sporting Goods the day of a big Chicago Bears game and trying to get your kids some sweatshirts and paying an egregious amount of money for them and not having them be as cute as what you're wearing right now, so.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (16:35.053)
Not a great plan. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They have youth. Yeah.

Teri (16:38.693)
Yeah.

The Shrink Down (16:38.99)
Yeah, oh and they have kids. So now Abercrombie has kids stuff too. So they have kids, they have women, they have men's. So highly recommend. so that was a good lead-in back into sports. So today we're going to be talking about sports. We're going to kind of set this up like we do or we have with our pop culture roundup where we kind of just talk about little different hot topics in sports.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (16:47.685)
good idea.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (16:53.38)
Yeah.

The Shrink Down (17:04.59)
I thought it'd be fun if we start off with like sports fandom. Like why are people so crazy about sports? I know for my husband like I watch him sometimes and I'm like, I don't get it. But when I think about it as a psychologist, I do get it. You know, he's like invested in his team. He loves his team. So by the way, he's a Dolphins fan. He grew up in Florida. He's also very invested in his fantasy football teams. And like I joke with him. I'm like, you know, you're not.

on the team, right? Like you don't get a paycheck, but it's like so invested. just, to me it's so funny. And like I said, initially my reaction is like, I don't get it. Like, why are you so invested in this? But from like a psychology perspective, it's being part of something, being part of a group. Like we all love that feeling of being part of something. And I think sports is like an easy one to be part of.

I mentioned earlier, I'm all about Chicago. I'm not a big sports person, but I love Chicago, and so I will always wear a Chicago Bears. I'm happy to do it. I actually like watching Bears play because it's my home team, but I wouldn't really watch another team if it wasn't on. So what are you guys' thoughts on sports fandoms?

Teri (18:14.073)
I think it depends on the person and the particular sport. And I think most people gravitate towards just a few sports that they really are into watching or seeing live. It tends not to be across the board where they're watching hockey, baseball, soccer, football, you know, every sport that their particular city has. think my stage of life. I come from a diehard Chicago Bears family. Like my grandpa had season tickets when they

Wilhelmina (18:26.121)
Mm-hmm.

Teri (18:43.345)
you know, played before Soldier Field was built and they played at Wrigley. And my uncle has had tickets for, you know, gosh, 40 years, 40 plus years. And. And he's got, yes, good seats, good seats. I had the privilege of going to one of the Bears Packers playoff games, front row seats. It's awesome. My husband has gotten to go since we got married, so he's been going forever. He has season tickets the last 15 years and gets to go, gosh, probably longer than maybe almost 18, 19 years with my uncles.

Wilhelmina (18:51.667)
And you guys have good seats, like you have good seats. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (18:53.657)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (18:59.128)
Yeah.

Teri (19:10.863)
And for me, it's actually transitioned more recently. So for me, it's always just been this is what my family does. When I had to pick my wedding date in October, I had to work around the Bears home schedule. And it's just what we do. And we get together to watch March Madness and we get together for Bears games. it's just what just sort of that's how I was raised. And this is just what we do. And it's a way to be together and have that shared enjoyment. Yeah. And that connection.

The Shrink Down (19:35.18)
Yeah, connection. Yeah.

Teri (19:37.881)
And now, and then you start to get to know the players and you get invested and you get to follow the storylines. And I also really like the game of football. I think it's pretty complex. I think there's a lot of strategy involved. I think it actually requires a pretty intellectual mind when you think about all the different plays and the different strategies that are involved in positions. And now for me, it's watching my kids discover a love of, and both of them have said, we love to watch football, all the sports they watch. They're like, it's most fun to watch football.

college football, NFL football. And I think now it's seen that them learn it and experience it and it feels so new and fresh. Sort of like a lot of things with kids, holidays, going to Disney, going to Great America, fill in the blank, things that you start to see through your kid's eyes. For me, sports has become that as well.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (20:24.537)
Mm-hmm.

Wilhelmina (20:28.245)
Well, and Terry, I think that you mentioning it's how you grew up is really key because Vanessa, I think I'm more similar to you where I have never been a huge sports person because I was raised by a single mom. She didn't watch sports, so I didn't grow up watching sports. So my kind of introduction to the sports world came when I went to the University of Michigan. And of course, that is a huge football. And as a student, you just get

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (20:35.354)
Mm-hmm.

The Shrink Down (20:53.784)
College sports, yeah.

Wilhelmina (20:58.133)
you get the football tickets and you go and it's absolutely. Yep. Yep. And so that was my introduction into it. And even now I will watch something, watch a team that I'm invested in. Usually I love a good playoff. I love to really have it, the stakes be high and then I'm all in, but kind of other than that, I'm a little bit like take it or leave it unless it's something I'm like invested in, but I have.

The Shrink Down (20:58.275)
Mm-hmm.

Teri (20:59.813)
when Tom Brady was there, right? Yeah, yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (21:02.621)
Mm-hmm.

Wilhelmina (21:26.773)
talked a lot about, I feel the same way about movies and TV. And I know my actors and actresses. I don't passively watch things. I actively watch things the same way that my husband watches football or basketball. And so I think that for me, when I can put it into that realm of like, okay, this is their movies. This is their, they know all the different this and this ins and outs.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (21:48.985)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Wilhelmina (21:54.753)
I am that way with TV and movies. And so that's kind of how I wrap my head around it because for the longest time I was like, I don't get it. But now I do.

The Shrink Down (22:05.154)
Yeah, yeah, that was actually.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (22:06.177)
It's their story and their storylines. Their storylines to the players and the teams and the coaches and the other team they're playing. And I can get into anything that has a storyline. And so I I love a good storyline. And so even if there's like for the Super Bowl, like I will be reading all the articles and watching all the little things this week. OK, you guys are going to get this right before the Super Bowl. So this week leading up to the Super Bowl.

Wilhelmina (22:08.585)
Yes. Yes. Yes.

Wilhelmina (22:16.531)
Yes, you give me a good storyline, yes.

Teri (22:25.423)
Yeah, same.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (22:33.253)
That's what I'll have been doing so that I can be invested in a couple of the players or a couple of the storylines. Like I really wanted the Rams to win last week because I wanted to see Matthew Stafford, who was a former Lions quarterback, get into the Super Bowl one more time because I feel like he must be close to retirement. Anyway, I know all of that because I follow the storyline. Right. And so like then I can invest in watching the Rams, even though I my team was out of it weeks ago. Right. So I think it's a really good point.

Vanessa and Wilhelmina, I think you hit it in terms of it's a way, it's a sense of togetherness and you can get through books and movies and TV as well as sports. And then to Terry's point and culturally, if that's the way you were raised, that's kind of a value in your family, a way to be together, then it really takes on a whole different meaning when you have a family of your own and you can start, like we're having a Super Bowl party.

Wilhelmina (23:09.567)
Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (23:31.161)
this weekend with, you know, all the, you know, my parents and my, you know, sisters and the cousins and all that kind of stuff. And we'll do it before the game. Like everybody will go home to watch the game, but it's just an idea of like getting together to celebrate something and be together and make little, you know, you know, the, squares bats and things like that. Right. So there can be a lot of

Teri (23:51.354)
Mm-hmm.

Wilhelmina (23:52.819)
Wait, you guys won't watch it together?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (23:55.834)
I mean, probably not. There's a lot of young kids, right? So at some point everybody goes home and gets ready for school. know, they really need to do that. Can we please do that? Can we please do or like?

Wilhelmina (23:58.193)
yeah, I guess so.

Teri (23:59.151)
It's. I wish they would move it to a Saturday. I wish they would move it to a Saturday. Bars and restaurants would make so much more money. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (24:01.268)
Okay.

Right.

The Shrink Down (24:04.514)
Yeah.

Yeah, I know we're going to Super Bowl party, but we're going home after halftime. Yeah, so we're going to watch the, yeah, we're going to watch the Super Bowl. Yeah, we're going to watch halftime show, Bad Bunny, and then we're going to, we'll go home. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (24:11.481)
Like half or whatever. Yeah, that's I mean, depending on the age of the kid, some people might stay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, my kids are old enough now to where we could watch the whole thing. But you know, my sister's kiddos are still younger. So yeah, that time factor is annoying. Especially since the West Coast gets it at three o'clock. Like, that's nice. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (24:12.649)
Yeah, halftime.

Teri (24:19.173)
Mm-hmm.

The Shrink Down (24:28.482)
Little, yeah.

Wilhelmina (24:35.507)
Yeah, I've always felt that about the Oscars too. I'm always like, why aren't the Oscars on a Saturday? I'd love to be able to.

The Shrink Down (24:36.686)
I didn't even think about that. Yeah.

Teri (24:40.571)
I know, I know.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (24:40.857)
Yes, let us all stay up and watch everything. So anyway, yeah.

The Shrink Down (24:46.894)
What are some other hot topics in sports?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (24:49.411)
Ooh, Terry's got a really good one. I want to hear more about this. Yeah.

Teri (24:50.509)
So I've got one. Yes. And I'm by no means an expert. did a little bit of cursory research, sort of surface level. There is a former Olympian who became a drug kingpin who was recently arrested. So if you have not heard of this. Yes. Yes, there there will. And he's sort of cute ish if you I don't know if you got. Yeah, like, you know.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (25:06.799)
seems ripe for a movie. Speaking of movies, yes. Yeah. That'll do it. Wait, what's his name? Let me look him up.

The Shrink Down (25:08.696)
Yes, there will be one. There will be one.

Wilhelmina (25:08.821)
Right?

Wilhelmina (25:17.951)
So who would play him? Who would play him?

Teri (25:20.235)
shoot. don't look at. Yeah, look him up, Lauren, while I'm talking.

The Shrink Down (25:24.526)
He's like a bigger guy, isn't he? Yes.

Teri (25:26.161)
Yes, and I but in his prime, I think he looked cuter in his prime, obviously. So he's 44 currently. So before he became a drug lord in Mexico, Mexican cartels. So he is our age. He's 44. He actually is from Canada. So he represented Canada in the 2002 Olympics. He's a snowboarder, Canadian snowboarder. He actually was only in one Ryan wedding. Thank you. I didn't even say his name yet. Ryan wedding. WEDD.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (25:30.927)
Yeah, before I became a kingpin. my god.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (25:50.787)
Ryan wedding? Okay.

Teri (25:56.162)
ING.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (25:56.736)
yeah, he's a little rough now. Well, he was cute when he was younger. Little rough now. Little rough.

Teri (25:58.929)
See? And Drugs McGee, that'll do it to you. So he was in one event in 2002 and came in 24th. So by no means, so he qualified for the Olympics, he competed in one event.

The Shrink Down (26:00.867)
drugs, drugs, that'll do it to you.

Wilhelmina (26:06.069)
you

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (26:14.514)
but that's a very small percentage that qualifies for the Olympics. He's a lead athlete or was.

The Shrink Down (26:16.802)
They get to, yeah, they get to the Olympics, Yeah, yeah.

Teri (26:17.073)
Exactly. Yes, he was an elite athlete. What happened between 2002 and now, which was 24 years ago, it's a lot of time. So he was 20 at the time, just entered his 20s. He somehow became involved in drug trafficking and he was on the FBI's like 10 most wanted list. He was being protected by the Mexican cartels. There was multiple warrants out for his arrest. He himself, I believe, didn't

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (26:38.425)
Uh-huh.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (26:43.237)
crazy.

Teri (26:46.801)
kill somebody, but he he ordered a hit on somebody and had somebody else killed. His story is fascinating. But all of this has been, you know, number 20 in the news because of this wacky world we live in right now. And there's so many. I think we're going to hear about it more as the Olympic news bubbles up, which I love the Olympic, all the Olympic stuff like, again, the storylines and the backgrounds and people's journeys to get there. And but if you are looking for.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (27:00.633)
It'll be a story for the Olympics, I bet.

Yeah. Yep. I know. I know. Yeah. Yeah.

Teri (27:15.449)
a sidebar news item to dig deep, deeper on. There's not a lot out there though. I don't think he has a family. don't think he has kids or anything. I'm really curious about how did he get from point A to point Z.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (27:27.865)
Yeah.

The Shrink Down (27:29.048)
Yeah. mean, anytime you have, yeah. I mean, anytime, I feel like anytime you have athletes who kind of have their fall from grace, we're always like, how did that happen? Right? Like we've heard of like, you know, athletes getting arrested for like DUIs and we're always like, why are you driving yourself? Like.

Wilhelmina (27:29.757)
We need Ryan Murphy to make a TV show about this. This is what we need.

Teri (27:32.975)
Yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (27:36.601)
Yep.

Teri (27:46.009)
Have a driver. Get a black car. Yes.

The Shrink Down (27:46.689)
get a driver, right? Or even more complex crimes, right? You're always like, how did you go from there to there? And I'm sure there's like a thousand reasons why, right? But it's always, I think it's fascinating to people who are not in those positions. You were like there and then now you're not.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (27:46.925)
well i think i

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (27:52.932)
I think because they're.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (28:01.637)
But I think that's part of the reason why they were so highly structured, so highly focused on this one singular goal for so long. I mean, I've heard of, you know, like the Tom Brady's of the world talk about that, like that they go through this significant period of depression after they're done with their thing. They've reached the peak of their sport to where they don't have an identity or a sense of self. And then if you're not rooted in a family or a good, you know, social

Teri (28:01.755)
What happened?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (28:29.373)
support system, you can imagine, mean, drug lord, that's quite the leap, but like you can see... You know, you got to pick. But it is like, can imagine how they would then, like their mental health would suffer. And then we know that things can go in all sorts of different directions if you're not quite stable in terms of...

Teri (28:35.515)
Mm-hmm.

Wilhelmina (28:35.861)
gonna say so the road the paths are lots of plastic surgery like Tom Brady or Mexican drug cartel I mean these are the options just saying

Teri (28:46.816)
yeah, he doesn't look good now.

The Shrink Down (28:53.912)
course.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (28:58.477)
again, sense of self-identity, things like that. But it is fascinating, Vanessa, like how they go from like functioning at such an elite level of their profession to like, I'm going to take a turn at this. Although that's probably why he was successful for a period of time as a drug lord and had protection from the cartels because he was probably very good at what he did because he knew how to function at a very high level in a thing.

Teri (29:06.756)
Hmm?

The Shrink Down (29:11.138)
Yeah. Yeah.

Teri (29:24.705)
I retract my statement that I thought he was good-looking. I don't think he's good-looking now.

The Shrink Down (29:24.814)
be very focused and targeted.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (29:29.189)
when he was younger, he had like a baby face.

Teri (29:32.625)
And even then, not quite my, for my liking. So I retract, carry on. So if you're, if you are looking for a news item, Ryan Wedding, I'm hoping more will come out, the Olympics. So if you hear that, you'll go, oh, that's the thing Terry was talking about. Yeah. What else do you gals got?

The Shrink Down (29:43.95)
You

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (29:47.256)
I bet. I bet. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

The Shrink Down (29:49.23)
Yeah. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (29:54.505)
Well, the thing.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (29:55.29)
Wilhelmina, we know what you want to talk about.

The Shrink Down (29:57.263)
Yes, we know your Asian is all it's for.

Wilhelmina (30:00.661)
So when we decided on this topic, I was like, well, I'm just going to talk more about heated rivalry then because, you know, sports and my love of movies and TV. So there you go. It's the perfect blending. Yes. And books. So I have now watched it three times all the way through. Mm hmm. Yep. Yes, I have. To be fair, what?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (30:08.377)
haha

The Shrink Down (30:10.602)
Okay.

Teri (30:10.607)
It has to do with sports.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (30:15.685)
In books. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (30:22.801)
my gosh.

Teri (30:24.997)
What? How do you find the time?

The Shrink Down (30:27.638)
Okay.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (30:27.759)
How?

Wilhelmina (30:27.829)
To be fair, it is only six episodes. It is only six episodes. They're all less than an hour. So. I mean.

Teri (30:31.505)
Okay, okay.

The Shrink Down (30:34.272)
okay.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (30:34.437)
Okay, that's still really good. I do. I have not watched that consistent. I, yeah.

Teri (30:36.689)
Okay, then I gotta, I've had...

The Shrink Down (30:38.766)
I mean, I'm still impressed, but I still, was.

Teri (30:41.285)
I've had so many people mention this to me that I just need to get it done. I just need to watch it.

The Shrink Down (30:47.128)
Yeah. I mean, but the...

Wilhelmina (30:48.071)
have so and you haven't no one's watched it okay okay

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (30:50.326)
I don't have HPO.

The Shrink Down (30:52.566)
No, haven't watched it. But I mean, I've heard so much. And I think one of the things is that this is really good for sports, right? It's showing another side to sports and athletes and.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (30:55.055)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (30:59.065)
Yeah, yeah.

Wilhelmina (31:03.539)
Yeah, it is so I basically was like, obviously my whole existence recently has been heated rivalry. It's actually been quite a nice break from everything going on in the world. Like I actually like pulled up my like Instagram reels and I believe the entire thing was just heated rivalry. was like, my, maybe.

Teri (31:19.857)
Do you think that's part of why it landed so well also? Just in the current climate? Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (31:24.461)
Yeah, sort of that COVID effect. Yeah.

The Shrink Down (31:24.941)
coming.

Wilhelmina (31:27.625)
Possibly, I mean, it is a nice escape. I think anyone who is like, well, what's this all about? I gotta take a look, which is kind of where it started for me. Then you watch it and you're like, okay, there is something there. So I've read a ton of articles and I feel like my takeaways are that one, it isn't just a novelty show. it is, these are six well-done episodes.

the creator of the show who, so it's based on this book series, which I guess most of the people I know who've read the series are like, it's fine, it's fine. But this, I think there's six, I think there's six books. yes. And Jacob Tierney, who's the creator and then wrote the script for the show, took the books and elevated it. He clearly had a passion for this.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (32:07.961)
Yeah, there's like four books. Is that right? each one was a... Okay. Okay.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (32:23.129)
Yeah, because I think they were like Hallmark style books, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. And this is not a Hallmark show.

Wilhelmina (32:26.195)
Yes, yes, they were, they were. And this is not a Hallmark show. Basically, this like tiny little network in Canada was trying to find like, like a Bridgerton like show for them. And then they kind of were like, maybe this is the time we could take this subject matter of two rival hockey players having a relationship on. So they did it. And there's clearly so much like trust in Jacob Tierney, in the actors.

The Shrink Down (32:31.214)
you

Teri (32:31.333)
Okay.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (32:39.14)
Yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (32:50.725)
amazing.

Wilhelmina (32:55.049)
these actors were working full-time other jobs outside of acting. They were not, they were no-name actors. And right, it's so smart, because you can just like dive into them.

The Shrink Down (32:58.07)
I did read that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (32:58.905)
Yeah.

Teri (33:01.617)
Okay. Mm-hmm. And they look super young, right? Like they're very young. Okay.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (33:01.689)
That was smart. Yeah.

Yep. You don't have to imagine them. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (33:09.417)
They are young. One of the guys, like you would think he was Russian and he is not. So like you, he's American. You watch the show and you're like, this man's Russian. Nope. He didn't even know Russian before he signed on for this and learned Russian to do this show. Yeah. And so it was like, it was going to be released post Olympics and then they were going to kind of edit it up. And then they decided once they,

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (33:15.375)
Yeah, he's American, right? Like straight American, yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (33:22.841)
Yeah. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (33:28.869)
amazing.

Teri (33:29.041)
I like that.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (33:36.256)
Wilhelmina (33:38.687)
had the cuts and edits. were like, this is actually really good. Let's get this out at Thanksgiving so that people can watch. I know. And HBO picked it up two weeks before it launched. Two weeks. And a very little publicity going on. So there is something there. Like the show was like magic in a bottle. And I think when you watch it, you see that. So like I got Owen to watch it on my third watching of it.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (33:42.165)
I love it.

Smart.

The Shrink Down (33:49.912)
Wow. Yeah.

Teri (33:50.257)
Wow.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (33:50.297)
Wow.

Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (33:58.853)
Yeah.

Wilhelmina (34:06.345)
And I think he was sort of like, he's watched a lot of my like silly stuff. And I think he was kind of ready to be like, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was funny, because I was telling a friend earlier today, we got to like the fifth episode, and there was something that happened. And Owen was like, is he gonna do this now? my gosh, and I was like, he's hooked. I was like, he's hooked into it. Like he's invested, he's invested in the characters. And he was the one that actually said the words. This is not just a novelty show. This is like a good, like well done.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (34:22.565)
He's commenting.

Wilhelmina (34:35.965)
show.

The Shrink Down (34:36.536)
Yeah. Well, it sounds like it's well done. And people obviously are so interested in this idea that there's... And we don't hear a lot about gay men in sports, right? Like high profile, like athletes, right? So we don't hear a lot of that in general, right? From sports. So I think that was also something that hooked people. They did a really good job and the topic is interesting.

Wilhelmina (34:42.739)
Yes.

Teri (34:46.959)
Gay athletes, gay male athletes. Yep.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (34:48.045)
No, not at all.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (34:52.421)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Wilhelmina (34:59.551)
Absolutely. The topic is, and I think that, you know, the sex is talked about a lot, obviously. And I will say though that the sex is not anything, it's Bridgerton, Outlander. Like they're just as like sexually risque. It's just the fact that it's gay sex. Yeah. There's no frontal nudity. You only just see a lot of butts. You you hear things, you get imagery, but like.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (35:06.533)
Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (35:20.005)
to man, yeah.

Wilhelmina (35:27.175)
It isn't as explicit as people are making it sound. Yes, yes. Right. A lot of butts. My girlfriend today was like, wow, that man's ass. is just, it's like, we got to cast someone with like two watermelons. I mean, yeah, yeah. And very good shape. Like he is, yes. So Owen was like, well, what if this were like a man and a woman? He's like, I think the show would still be good. I was like, no.

Teri (35:29.957)
You

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (35:30.341)
Well, it's just the newness of it, right? It's never been done before in this way.

The Shrink Down (35:31.682)
Yes, yeah, yeah.

Teri (35:34.886)
butts.

Teri (35:41.275)
Well, because what is he like 20? Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (35:43.749)
I was gonna say.

The Shrink Down (35:45.634)
Yeah.

Wilhelmina (35:57.481)
that it would be the same. That's played out. I said the part of the fantasy, because two thirds of the viewers that are watching the show are women. So what is it about this show that women are responding to other than the fact that of course it's a romance that's part of it. But I think that there's something here of women being able to have this like romantic fantasy and they don't have to be a part of it. They don't have to do any of the emotional labor.

Teri (35:58.063)
That's played out.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (36:00.125)
huh. Interesting.

The Shrink Down (36:00.813)
Yeah, yeah, it's the novelty.

Wilhelmina (36:26.897)
Seriously, they don't have to do any of the emotional labor. They get to watch two men doing all of the emotional work, having conversations, taking risks, opening up, like all comforting each other, doing scary things together, all without a woman having to like rescue a man, say what he can't say, do any of that. It's like, my God, this is, I can just sit back and relax. This is nice. And men can actually do this.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (36:32.261)
all the work.

Wilhelmina (36:57.001)
Men can do this. And so I do think there is a fantasy piece that one of the articles I read was like, hey, maybe men should be paying attention to what this is. What is this show saying about what women are truly wanting and desiring? Because clearly it's resonating for the female audience. And it isn't just like men having sex. There's something more, because that's not what people are actually talking about. People are talking about the moments.

The last two episodes, people talk about that more than anything. These moments that they're having of being open and honest and being there for each other, regulating each other, showing up for each other, it's awesome. So.

Teri (37:40.747)
And one of the characters has autism, correct? Okay, how do you feel like, yeah, how is, how do feel that's portrayed? And I realized when you, you the saying is when you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism, because there's so much variety in terms of presentations. There's a lot of overlap, but there's also lot of variety. So what, how do you think that was?

Wilhelmina (37:43.913)
Yes, yes, yes, and that is also tucked.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (37:45.964)
No.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (37:56.015)
Yeah.

Wilhelmina (38:01.855)
I think they did a really good job because I watched it all the way through, didn't really kind of notice some of his little idiosyncrasies, if you will. He's pretty kind of a little rigid. always like anywhere he goes, he's like, he wants a ginger ale to drink, you know, like he has these little things that they just subtly put in, weave into the story. So when I read it after the fact, I was like, and I could point out the scenes, but then when I, nope.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (38:28.687)
So they don't talk about it. They don't actually use the word or talk about the diagnosis. that's interesting. Okay. Yeah.

Teri (38:32.113)
I I see.

Wilhelmina (38:32.581)
never say it, which is I think even better because then when I watched it the second and third time, I was like, it was so clear to me and made it all the better that they didn't even say it. They just had it.

The Shrink Down (38:33.241)
interesting.

Teri (38:46.897)
And I haven't and I haven't watched it yet. But what I think is what sounds cool to me about it is that there is a myth and a stereotype out there that individuals on the spectrum are asexual, that they don't have sexual interests or desires. They're not interested in it. And that's not the case. Like, that's definitely not the case. Yes. Which I know I like that show. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

The Shrink Down (38:47.362)
Interesting.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (38:47.621)
That's great.

Wilhelmina (38:58.815)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (39:07.077)
Well, there's that show, Love on the Spectrum, people love on Netflix. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But no, I think it's a good point, to not make that the focus, the diagnosis.

The Shrink Down (39:09.809)
yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (39:11.657)
Yes. Yeah.

When I think for that character, the sex is when there's like, there's a level of safety and connection there and that, yeah. So I highly recommend it. And then of course you have to text me when you watch it so that you can, I can show you all of my Instagram reels and get your, get your feed to look a little bit more like mine.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (39:27.929)
Yes, it should be. that's great. Awesome.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (39:35.301)
We will.

Teri (39:36.419)
Obviously.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (39:41.441)
Right, right, right, right, exactly.

Teri (39:43.001)
Yeah, I have high expectations now, but not just because of you, Wilmia, but just it's the zeitgeist. So I have high expectations. Yeah, it's yeah, it's been hyped.

Wilhelmina (39:48.467)
Okay. Yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (39:50.027)
Yeah. Yeah.

The Shrink Down (39:50.094)
been hyped.

Wilhelmina (39:53.021)
I think it, I feel confident that if nothing else, I think you'll enjoy it. Like, you know, I feel like at bare minimum, you're going to be like, Right. Super watchable. Yeah.

Teri (39:58.225)
Okay. It's super watchable. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (40:06.361)
Well, should we shift gears significantly? You want to finish up with youth sports? One of my favorite things to talk about and the...

Teri (40:07.875)
Yeah, what do you got, Lauren?

The Shrink Down (40:08.236)
Yeah. Yeah.

The Shrink Down (40:12.69)
Yes. Yes, we have talked about youth sports before. Lauren, yeah, so, Lauren sent us, and it was an article, right? Yeah. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (40:12.981)
yes! Yes!

Teri (40:13.489)
This is

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (40:17.667)
We have talked about them.

Teri (40:20.432)
This is

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (40:23.363)
It's an article and you guys, have more information and I am shocked. Michigan is the 46th state to do this. I thought like this was like brand new. So this week, so when you're listening to this last week, Michigan approved high school students to be able to profit from NIL, name, image and likeness. So what college students are getting that we've had such a hard time wrapping our head around, right?

Teri (40:27.397)
This is a big one.

Wilhelmina (40:31.953)
No.

Right!

Teri (40:48.261)
which is newer for college students the past couple of years. Yep.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (40:52.215)
And so now we're down to the high school level, making Michigan the 46th state to allow NIL at the high school level. How did I not know this before? But I didn't either. just, it makes me sad. My initial gut, and I want to hear what you guys think, like gut is it just makes me so sad because youth sports as they are, are so shifting the focus from, my gosh, community, togetherness, know, team building, character building.

Wilhelmina (41:00.831)
I had no idea.

Teri (41:02.385)
I had no idea.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (41:21.889)
of kids and the focus is so much on adults and so much of adults that haven't lived out their youth and are utilizing youth to live out some of these. gosh, believe me, anybody that knows me knows I could go all day about this. I have such issues with how things have shifted anyway in youth sports. So now for this to be something that they can then profit off of, just, my sad was the feeling I had was like,

Teri (41:32.911)
Mm-hmm.

Teri (41:47.617)
I hate this. I hate this so much from an adolescent development perspective, from a continuing to widen the disparity between the have and have nots and whoever can afford the private coaching and extra training sessions. we're just making that the gap is already massive, even compared to when we were kids. And now it is going to be the most wealthiest

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (41:55.289)
Yes, yes.

The Shrink Down (42:01.675)
Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (42:02.319)
Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (42:12.847)
Mm-hmm.

Teri (42:16.763)
kids whose parents can devote time to their kid like it's a job. That's who's gonna make it, so to speak. Like, yeah, it's a job. I hate this.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (42:23.845)
It's a job. Or you have to hire a recruiter. You have to, I mean, it's just, it just makes me sad. I know our kids are all kind of similar enough in age that they're at the precipice of this like high school sports, which again is supposed to be such a good thing. We all know the mental health benefits, the cognitive benefits of being part of something. And I don't mean like your typical four sports, inactivity, dance, gymnastics, right? Like drama.

Wilhelmina (42:24.767)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Teri (42:36.913)
Mm-hmm.

Teri (42:41.819)
Yes, yes.

Wilhelmina (42:46.505)
Yes.

Wilhelmina (42:49.961)
anything.

The Shrink Down (42:50.676)
whatever it is, a book club.

Wilhelmina (42:52.917)
a team, a belonging, yes.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (42:53.527)
Art club. like there's so debate like yes, there's so much good in that. And when you when you take youth sports and you and to what Terry's saying, it just widens this gap of what kids feel like they can do. And then as a parent, I've like it just makes me sad. Like I don't even know if my kids will be able to play at the high school level because at 10 and 12, I'm not doing anything like this. I'm not doing any of that kind of stuff, nor do I think you should.

Teri (42:55.589)
Yes.

The Shrink Down (42:55.661)
Yeah, yeah.

Teri (43:01.829)
and you put money in like.

Wilhelmina (43:13.267)
Yeah.

Wilhelmina (43:19.253)
Wait.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (43:23.255)
And yet that's going to just put these kids in this. I don't even know that I've formulated all my thoughts about it.

Wilhelmina (43:27.119)
it just makes me, the pressure, the pressure these kids must feel of if their parent does take this on as their little project. Right.

Teri (43:30.225)
So

Teri (43:36.369)
Mmm.

The Shrink Down (43:37.166)
Because they have to, because it's not the kid doing it, right? Like it has to be an adult who is taking the lead on this.

Teri (43:42.583)
and doing the social media posts and sending sample videos and social media to.

Wilhelmina (43:44.786)
Ugh.

The Shrink Down (43:45.942)
Absolutely.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (43:47.898)
And there's such a wide variety. Look at the things for Michigan. The only things that are prohibited, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, and gambling. Those are prohibited, thank God. I mean, gotta have some guidelines here. But that means like the things that are allowed. I mean, like I'm think, I don't even know makeup, face, like all the athletic gear, like all, like, I don't even know. They said you can do, they are allowed to sign autographs for money.

Wilhelmina (43:56.501)
could. Well, you know.

Wilhelmina (44:05.045)
That's a wide, that's a wide net.

Teri (44:14.193)
So.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (44:17.753)
They can run their own camps or private lessons for money, but they can't be on the school grounds. They can't use the school logo.

Wilhelmina (44:23.625)
Guys, you can have Maddie and Griffin's signatures for free. I'll give it to you. You can have them.

Teri (44:28.273)
Thanks.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (44:28.549)
So my kids were asking the question, why would I want to pay for a high school autograph, a high schooler's autograph? Well, that's what I said, Wilhelmina. I said Bryce Underwood is an example of a high schooler that, well, he's at University of Michigan now, okay? He's their hot new quarterback. But as a high schooler, he was in Belleville, which is very close to Ann Arbor. And so everybody kind of knew this high school kid from Belleville was going to U of M. So my guess is it would be something like a kid like

Wilhelmina (44:35.869)
if they become big.

The Shrink Down (44:37.261)
Yeah.

Teri (44:37.595)
Think of like a.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (44:58.309)
In this situation, somebody that's local, you know he's going, you've heard all these things about how great he's gonna be one day, and so you go and you stand in a line and pay to get his autograph when he's 15, because then at some point he's gonna be in the NFL or something, I don't

Teri (45:11.813)
Like a coop.

Like a Cooper Flagg, right, who is in the NBA, plays for the Mavericks, played one year at Duke, scored, he scored 49 points last night and had 10 rebounds in a game, youngest in NBA history. He is the next Michael Jordan, right? So Cooper Flagg is a high schooler and that would be somebody, yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (45:17.487)
Yes, thank you. I guess. Great example, yep.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (45:27.983)
He's so young. Yes. Yep. That's a great example. Yep. So you know, because you've read the articles, he's already out there, the media's interviewing him. Well, you know, LeBron James was, he didn't even go to college, but whatever. Like, that's what I'm like, so this is going to start so much younger now. That's what makes me sad is like,

Teri (45:48.143)
Younger. Well, and then how, and then I wonder of the, had no idea either. And that that many states, I need to see if Illinois is on the list. And, and then I wonder how prolific it is. So how many, is anyone tracking that? So how many high school students are actually, and how much, right? Like how much are actually, like what percentage of high school athletes are actually getting some type of funding and have a deal. And then how,

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (45:54.958)
I know, I'm like 46. This means this is going on everywhere else.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (46:04.134)
Mm, that's good question. And how much are they making?

The Shrink Down (46:04.172)
Yeah, I wondering the same thing.

Teri (46:17.285)
What's the value? Like how much are they making?

The Shrink Down (46:19.224)
Right. And then I wonder how many of those kids actually go on to then to make it big is my question. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (46:19.397)
Okay, so.

Wilhelmina (46:23.711)
to make it big and.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (46:26.031)
So here's the question. Does that piece matter? Because, okay, let's say it's a swimmer and they get a sponsorship for electrolytes, okay? Like a drink powder, something like totally kind of innocuous, right? But that 16 year old then is utilizing social media. Like, I don't know, like it's almost beyond athletics. It's like, so now these kids are, I don't know. Is it different than cutting lawns though?

Wilhelmina (46:52.669)
I mean, we're just talking about this and we're like, get on there.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (46:55.309)
I know that's, guess I'm struggling with like, I mean, we all had jobs as high schoolers. So do they look at it as a job or like, then you add in the social media aspect and it gets super murky.

The Shrink Down (46:56.91)
you

Teri (46:57.51)
Right.

Teri (47:06.065)
Well, the idea of a side hustle is very big among, I think, people of all ages, but it's really big with Gen Z and younger. So everyone is, I'm going to try to do a side hustle. There's a lot of college students nowadays who will try to start a clothing company while they're in college. They will try to make videos, fitness videos, to see if they can get some sponsorship. So there is a big culture of side hustles among younger people. And again, I think that's pervasive across all ages.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (47:11.406)
Young adults, yep.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (47:17.347)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (47:33.562)
I guess I'm concerned about the age. If your brain is fully formed and you are a young adult and you want to do that, awesome. But we're talking about these kids that are now it's going to go before high school because you're going to have to already be ready to go right at high school. So we're talking about kids our age whose we know prefrontal cortexes are not fully formed. And somebody mentioned parents are going to have to be running this gig. And what do the kids understand about it? And how does this impact

Teri (47:35.791)
Yeah. Yeah.

Teri (47:51.825)
Mm-hmm.

Wilhelmina (47:56.981)
I know.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (48:03.321)
their self-image, their self-worth, their understanding of their value. I don't know. It's all very confusing.

Wilhelmina (48:08.529)
Only negatively, I would think. mean, really, I mean, I would think that anything, I shouldn't say only negatively, I feel like they are really gonna hinge their identity on something that is how other people are responding to them or using them. And I feel like that's always a dangerous route, right? Instead of it, like their self-worth and their kind of sense of self coming from within, it's gonna come externally. And that is...

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (48:29.946)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (48:38.245)
That would be a bigger concern for me than anything, right?

Teri (48:39.963)
Agree.

The Shrink Down (48:40.342)
And that's why I was asking about how many of these kids make it big, more so in the context of, OK, emotionally, right? So I did all this stuff, and now where am I? Who am I is a bigger question, right? Because this didn't pan out for me, and I invested all my time and my energy into being this. This was my identity. I was this super sport person, and if I don't make it, we all know that the percentage of people who make it big, it's pretty small. Tiny, tiny.

Wilhelmina (48:40.382)
Right.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (48:43.021)
Yeah, it's a good. Yeah.

Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (48:52.825)
Right. This all went away.

Teri (48:54.907)
Mm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (49:04.546)
my God, it's so tiny.

Wilhelmina (49:04.757)
So small.

Teri (49:05.936)
So small.

The Shrink Down (49:09.314)
That was where my questioning was coming about, like, how many of these kids actually make it big? Because I, yeah, I was concerned about how does this impact them emotionally when they don't, right? And you don't, and then what do you fall back on?

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (49:11.525)
It's a good question.

Teri (49:21.081)
It is

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (49:21.317)
Or is the idea make as much money as you can while you can? don't know. Oh, gross. I know. These parents did all think they're, yeah, five foot nothing kids going to the NBA. Like, I mean, come on. Oh my God, they're everywhere.

Teri (49:24.753)
It's going to make parents rabid.

The Shrink Down (49:24.89)
That's a good...

I mean, they're already rabid. There's already so many of them.

Wilhelmina (49:28.981)
Yeah. There are already parents around here.

Teri (49:30.587)
They're all right. Yes.

Teri (49:36.465)
Right, they're everywhere, Wilhelmina, they're everywhere.

Wilhelmina (49:38.675)
Right, they're everywhere. mean, people in, for kids around me in elementary school, like early elementary, that are already like eye on the prize for like college and beyond. And it's crazy. I'm like, there's so many things that can happen between now and then. Let's slow our roll just a bit.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (49:49.509)
Mm-hmm. yeah.

Teri (49:50.619)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

The Shrink Down (49:57.773)
Yeah, yeah. But I do, but I will say it is hard when you have a kid who's generally like genuinely like naturally athletic, like it comes to them easily. It's like I do think, you know, this is not me, like my kids not in sports, my kid dances, but you know, even then, you know, how much do you harness, right? Like how much do you so it I think it is hard. I don't I don't think I don't know how I feel about social media stuff. But like, you know, like how much do you kind of nurture that versus just let it be?

Teri (49:58.213)
I know.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (49:59.47)
I know.

Wilhelmina (50:06.762)
Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (50:16.869)
I know, I know.

Teri (50:18.47)
Yeah.

Wilhelmina (50:24.873)
But maybe you just let them have fun. Like, why don't you just let them have fun being good at something that they enjoy doing? Like that is intrinsically

The Shrink Down (50:27.309)
Right?

Teri (50:27.494)
Right.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (50:35.364)
you make it sound so simple.

The Shrink Down (50:37.742)
I mean, just let them be happy.

Wilhelmina (50:39.729)
One, I think I'm...

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (50:40.367)
I agree, by the way. I totally agree with you. Yes. But unfortunately, there are so many other factors at play that you can be the parent that says, want to support and nurture my child because she has a talent and I want her to have fun. And there are 10 other parents or coaches or organizations that are saying, well, she can have fun, but she should also do this extra private training session. And if you don't do this, then you're already behind in this.

Teri (50:44.165)
Mm-hmm.

The Shrink Down (50:49.698)
Yes, I don't think you can just do that. Yeah.

Teri (50:52.753)
Hmm.

The Shrink Down (50:55.202)
Yeah.

The Shrink Down (51:07.0)
Yeah. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (51:09.347)
Ooh, you shouldn't be at that studio or on that team because they're not as, I mean, it's so like they take the fun out of it. So it's really hard. I mean, I, I a hundred percent agree with you, Wilhelmina. That's what it should be about. These should be about skill building and having fun and increasing their self-esteem because to Vanessa's point, they may be athletically inclined in a particular area and how awesome that feels to be good at something. And yet.

The Shrink Down (51:14.338)
But yeah. Yeah.

Teri (51:14.353)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Teri (51:35.473)
And it seems like that is the message, at least in my experience having two boys until about age seven or eight. This is chance for everyone to try it. This is skill building. Let's teach them how to get along with others and be part of a team and get some exercise in fresh air. And then at about age eight or so, it really shifts. It's when the travel sports start. It's when there's more tryouts. It's when you can play lacrosse year round. You can do golf year round.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (51:43.599)
Mm-hmm.

Wilhelmina (51:45.965)
Let's teach them how to get along with others and be part of a team and get some exercise and fresh air. And then at age eight or so, it really shifts from a travel sports start until there's more tryouts. It's when you can play lacrosse year round. can golf on the run. can do guess. You don't have seasons anymore. Every sport is also in this year round. It really, it's like this real quick switch that we use in the world. We can move it indoors.

The Shrink Down (51:54.285)
Mm-hmm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (51:54.404)
chest.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (52:02.383)
can put a lot of money into something.

Teri (52:03.299)
You can do, yes, you can, we don't have seasons anymore. Every sport is all seasons year round. It really, it's like this real quick switch that seems to flip.

The Shrink Down (52:03.82)
Yeah.

The Shrink Down (52:08.91)
All here, yep. Yeah. Yeah. We're just gonna move it indoors. Now it's...

Teri (52:14.213)
Yeah, every sport can be turned indoors.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (52:14.501)
Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah. And you don't even realize when you're signing up for these things, you're like, wait, what happened? Wait, what? Why am I doing this all week and long? How'd that happen? I didn't know. What did I sign? Uh-huh. 10 months? I'm fairly certain. No? OK. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (52:17.767)
I'm signing up for two tickets. I'll say what happened. Why am I doing that?

The Shrink Down (52:18.67)
you

Teri (52:19.397)
Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you're like, thought this, I thought this. Yeah, I thought this ended in January. It doesn't end in January. It ends in April. What? Yeah.

The Shrink Down (52:23.628)
you

The Shrink Down (52:30.318)
Yeah.

Teri (52:33.211)
Yeah. Yeah.

Wilhelmina (52:34.773)
Griffin the other day was like, I want to play baseball, mom, this summer. And I was like, baseball? I was like, where do you even, you're 11 now. You've never played baseball before in your entire life. I'm like, I'm like, softball? He's like, no, baseball. I'm like, And I like genuinely am like, at 11, where does...

The Shrink Down (52:44.238)
Thank

Teri (52:50.552)
Okay.

The Shrink Down (52:50.83)
you

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (52:54.687)
Isn't that sad? You should be able to say as a parent of an 11 year old, awesome, let's get you signed up at the local park.

Teri (52:56.145)
But that's sad.

Wilhelmina (52:56.967)
I agree. Right? I feel like.

The Shrink Down (52:57.165)
Yes.

Yeah. Hey, Wilhelmina, Michael Jordan started playing basketball at, I believe it was 11 or 12. He was into baseball before then, so.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (53:06.253)
I know, but Vanessa, that was like 40 years ago. The world has changed, unfortunately.

Teri (53:06.8)
Mm-hmm.

Teri (53:11.492)
I know.

Wilhelmina (53:11.957)
I'm also a mom that's terrorized by the idea of baseball. I'm like, all I think is concussions and balls to the head and like, but that's just me.

The Shrink Down (53:15.366)
Hahaha

The Shrink Down (53:19.054)
He's going to be the next big thing in Major League Baseball. I mean,

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (53:19.481)
Well, Wilhelmina, I don't know how you feel about this. Wilhelmina, where Jack plays soccer, where Jack plays soccer, Wilhelmina, this facility has doubleheader baseball games on Friday nights indoors for children your children's age. So you could start right now if you wanted to. I can't find parking on Friday nights for indoor soccer practice because of all the doubleheader baseball games that are going on in this split facility.

Wilhelmina (53:23.317)
Heated rivalry is on my mind.

Teri (53:37.935)
You could, I'm sure.

The Shrink Down (53:38.126)
You don't even have to wait for the summer!

Wilhelmina (53:38.867)
Baseball is one that is

Wilhelmina (53:45.582)
God, baseball is like egregiously slow for me. I'm like.

Teri (53:50.563)
I wasn't sad when the boys stopped playing baseball because it's rough.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (53:53.572)
Oof. It's a fun thing to go to an MLB game in the middle of summer and get a hot dog. It's a tough thing.

Teri (53:57.775)
Yes.

Wilhelmina (53:59.007)
Yes, yes, that's enjoyable. Not double headers with like 11 year olds, that sounds miserable.

The Shrink Down (53:59.694)
Of course. Yes. my gosh.

Teri (54:00.881)
kids playing bass is hard to watch.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (54:03.477)
Yeah. On a Friday night in January, indoors, talk about concussions. I'm like, how did they make sure that like they're not hitting the ceiling and firing back at their head? I don't know. I don't know how it works. But yeah, it's just it's a whole nother discussion. I mean, listen, I didn't think you guys are going to have different opinions than me, but it always makes me feel better when I throw that out there and you're like, what?

Teri (54:06.041)
Yeah.

Wilhelmina (54:16.915)
Right!

Teri (54:29.402)
I'm.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (54:29.497)
I had no idea it was all over the country. I thought for sure when I heard this news that Michigan must have been like one of the first. So obviously this is a bigger thing happening and it has been happening. just took Terry's point. It started in college not that long ago and we were all like, whoa. And that was hard to wrap everybody's head around. It still is, right? Because now you don't have your college quarterback for four years. They're going in the portal every five seconds. We don't even know where everybody is. And then the quarterback.

Wilhelmina (54:31.977)
That's terrifying, terrifying.

Teri (54:51.013)
Yeah. And they're all transferring. I know. Yeah.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (54:58.937)
the Miami quarterback admits he hasn't been to classes for two years because he graduated two years ago. And you're like, what? Why? Why are you playing college football? So like the whole thing at a college level has been hard to wrap my head around. And now we're taking it down to these kids that are not. It's allowed. See, I just, it's just something I think we should all do us. You know, we're all chewing on it.

Wilhelmina (55:05.877)
Ugh.

Teri (55:12.781)
Illinois, Illinois it's Yeah, Illinois it's allowed for my Illinois listeners. Maryland it's allowed.

Wilhelmina (55:15.047)
is one of them. Aw, man.

The Shrink Down (55:19.598)
I mean, it's mostly now, so.

Teri (55:25.489)
allowed in Maryland.

Lauren Radtke-Rounds Ph.D. (55:27.287)
Right, right. When you guys get an invite to my children's social media account to promote their products, please accept the invite.

The Shrink Down (55:27.753)
Hahaha!

The Shrink Down (55:32.27)
you

Teri (55:32.505)
Yeah. God.

The Shrink Down (55:37.487)
Well, ladies, it was a good talk as usual. Please join us next time on the shrink down.
