ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Gratitude with ADHD is the subject of Day 2133. I am in Skegness with my in-laws, celebrating my father-in-law's 75th birthday. Fourteen or fifteen of us are in one house, the setting is lovely, and I have every reason to be thankful. My mind sits in working mode. Business is going well, and I keep thinking about what needs sorting while I am away and when I return. My immediate family accepts this as how I operate. With extended family, the expectation is that I will be present, and I find that hard. Sometimes I look as though I do not want to be there. I do. I am grateful. I do not always show it.I call this entrepreneurial anxiety, and ADHD amplifies it. In this episode I explain the gap between feeling gratitude and showing gratitude, why I do not think the gap means something is wrong with me, and why I do not have a tidy answer. What I do have is a habit. On my run, I take a moment to remind myself how grateful I am, with the intention of carrying the feeling back into the room. Sometimes this works. Sometimes not. This is Day 2133. My total distance is 16,390.61km of the 40,075km lap of the world, with 23,684.39km remaining. I run to raise £1M for children's causes, including Great Ormond Street and BBC Children in Need.Listen, follow and share if you believe in the mission. #gratitude #adhd #mindset #streakrunning #ukrunnerscommunity #runnerslifestyle #ultrarunninglife #runformentalhealth #strava #stravarun #Insta360 #vibramfivefingersWatch the full episode: https://youtu.be/jFZyOZq3ml8
