ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Aliceanne discovered last year she has something called aphantasia: she cannot "see" anything behind her mind's eye. An estimated 1% to 5% of people experience no visual imagery when they close their eyes. But that does not mean they do not have a rich, vibrant inner world! It's simply experienced through different "channels" of human perception: narrative / storytelling, relational, semantic, and somatic, to name a few.
Join us as we explore the incredible landscape of embodiment: the experience of being in a body (rather than just "having" a body). We cover the neuroscience and psychology behind somatic awareness and what it changes about our daily, lived experiences, and we share some personal stories about how being more embodied has dramatically changed both our lives.
