00:00:00.680 --> 00:00:03.279
In this episode of Let's Read a Poem, I have
2
00:00:04.080 --> 00:00:10.720
one written by Ralph Waldo Emerson and it talks about freedom.
3
00:00:11.000 --> 00:00:13.880
As the title of this poem is freedom.
4
00:00:14.439 --> 00:00:19.839
Once I wished I might rehearse freedom Spain in my verse,
5
00:00:20.879 --> 00:00:23.359
that the slave who caught the strain.
6
00:00:23.600 --> 00:00:26.719
Should throb until he snapp'd his chain.
7
00:00:27.679 --> 00:00:32.039
But the spirit said not so speak it not, or
8
00:00:32.159 --> 00:00:36.479
speak it low name, not lightly to be said, gift
9
00:00:36.600 --> 00:00:41.439
too precious to be prayed, passion not to be express'd,
10
00:00:42.079 --> 00:00:46.200
but by heaving off the breast. Yet wouldst thou the
11
00:00:46.359 --> 00:00:51.439
mountain find where this deity is shrined? Who gives to
12
00:00:51.560 --> 00:00:57.200
seas and sunset skies their unspent beauty of surprise? And
13
00:00:57.280 --> 00:01:02.359
when it lists him awaken, can brute or savage into man?
14
00:01:02.920 --> 00:01:06.680
Or if in thy heart he shine blends the starry
15
00:01:06.840 --> 00:01:11.799
fates with thine, draws angles near to dwell with thee,
16
00:01:12.159 --> 00:01:17.120
and makes thy thoughts our angels be freedom sent. Wilt
17
00:01:17.159 --> 00:01:21.120
thou know counsel not with flesh and blood, loiight or
18
00:01:21.200 --> 00:01:22.560
not for cloak of food?
19
00:01:23.200 --> 00:01:26.799
Right thou feelest rush to do? Yes?
20
00:01:27.280 --> 00:01:31.000
So this poem talks about what a sleep should do
21
00:01:31.319 --> 00:01:36.200
when he wants freedom, and that Freedom needs struggle as well.
22
00:01:36.799 --> 00:01:40.719
Freedom by Ralph Waldo. Immersion for us in this episode
