ABOUT THIS EPISODE
In Budapest, a joyous reunion turns bittersweet. Mina finds Jonathan a hollow shell of his former self, driven mad by what he remembers as a "terrible dream." They marry at his bedside, and Jonathan seals his journal away, vowing never to open it again for the sake of his own sanity.
But back in England, the horror is compounding. Lucy has returned to London, and her health has completely collapsed. Her breathing is shallow, her teeth look strangely sharper, and her throat wounds keep changing appearance. Desperate, her fiancé Arthur begs Dr. John Seward to intervene.
Seward is baffled by her profound blood loss. Worse, his asylum patient Renfield suffers another violent outburst, escaping to the doors of Carfax Abbey—the decrepit estate Dracula just bought—where he is found licking fluid off the ground and screaming for his "Master." Realizing Lucy is facing something beyond modern science, a desperate Dr. Seward sends an urgent telegram to his old mentor: the eccentric Dutch philosopher and specialist, Professor Abraham Van Helsing.
