ABOUT THIS EPISODE
"Look Within" - Songs of the ELE-VOLUTION
by Christopher Georg
I wrote “Look Within” because I believe music can still reach places speeches, books, politics, and arguments no longer reach.
My podcast, Christopher George — The Solution Series, was built to challenge people to think deeper, look harder, and stop accepting broken systems, broken leadership, and broken behavior as normal. But I also understand something very real: everybody may not sit through a 30-minute or one-hour podcast.
But they might listen to a seven-minute song.
That is why music has become another tool in my mission. Not a replacement for the message — another way to deliver it. Another way to reach the mind, the heart, and the spirit. Another way to push the Ele-VOLUTION: to Elevate and Evolve.
People have always used music to move the world. Freedom songs, protest songs, blues, gospel, soul, hip-hop, country — music has carried pain, truth, resistance, healing, and hope for generations. Now, with the tools available today, more of us have the ability to turn our thoughts, our writing, our pain, and our vision into something people can feel.
“Look Within” is one of those songs.
This song is not about attacking faith. It is about challenging people to stop using faith as a hiding place. It is about asking people whether the light they claim to believe in is actually alive inside of them.
Because the true temple is not just a building.
The true battle is not just outside of us.
The real work starts within.
We spend too much time looking outward for guidance, validation, direction, and blame. The guidance has always been there. The wisdom has always been there. The light has always been there. But the question is: what are you doing with it?
Too many people take what they believe, what they were taught, or what they think is right, and immediately run out into the world trying to control, judge, condemn, or correct other people.
But how can you lead anybody when you do not know yourself?
How can you love anybody properly when you have not examined your own heart?
How can you help heal a country, a community, a family, or a system while refusing to deal with what is broken inside of you?
That is what “Look Within” is asking.
What is inside of you?
If there is ugly in your heart, ask yourself why.
If there is hate in your spirit, ask yourself where it came from.
If you are judging people who are also trying to survive this world, ask yourself what made you forget their humanity.
This song is part of my effort to use music as a new kind of civil rights message — not just marching in the streets, but marching into the mind, the heart, and the spirit of the people. Because before we can fix a country, before we can fix leadership, before we can fix community, before we can fix family, we have to be willing to fix ourselves.
I do not believe America’s foundation is beyond saving. I believe the greater problem is that people keep corrupting good possibilities with ignorance, fear, hate, ego, selfishness, and pain they never healed.
The system is only as strong as the people operating it.
And right now, too many people are operating with no values, from anger they never questioned, wounds they never faced, and beliefs they never truly examined.
We talk about meditation, reflection, inner peace, and self-awareness like they are strange or dangerous ideas, when the truth is simple: looking within is one of the oldest and most necessary forms of growth.
I am not talking about focusing inward like a selfie.
I am talking about focusing inward to understand who you are as a human being on this beautiful planet we were given to care for.
That is part of the Ele-VOLUTION.
- Stop focusing only outward.
- Stop blaming only outward.
- Stop searching only outward.
Look within.
Find the light there first. Turn that light on first.
Then carry it into the world.
“Look Within” has already become one of my most meaningful songs because people keep telling me it made them stop, think, and examine themselves. That matters to me. That tells me the message is landing where it needs to land.
This is a call to reflect.
- A call to heal.
- A call to grow.
- A call to stop blaming everything outside of ourselves while refusing to face what is broken inside.
Before we ask what is wrong with the world, maybe we need to ask:
What have I refused to fix within myself?
