MENGENAI EPISOD INI
Perpetua Mulikita spent nearly two years figuring out how to make her family's mornings run more smoothly. As a full-time working mom of two boys, with an MBA underway and no nearby family support, she had plenty of motivation to find a better way.
And the interesting part? She's not naturally a planner.
In this episode of Energy + Hours, I'm joined by Perpetua Mulikita to talk about the simple systems she's developed to manage her time and energy at home and at work.
One of her biggest wins was introducing a shared digital family calendar that made everyone's schedules, chores, and responsibilities visible. Her boys started taking ownership of their routines, and Perpetua found herself spending less time reminding everyone what needed to happen next.
We get into the practical details of managing a busy household, including meal planning, morning routines, and finding solutions to those little frustrations that seem to come up every single day.
Perpetua also shares what she's learned about burnout, recognizing when her body needs rest, and giving herself permission to have days when the family does absolutely nothing productive.
I particularly appreciated her perspective on involving children in creating the systems they're expected to follow. There's a lot we can learn from that approach, both at home and in the workplace.
In this episode:
How Perpetua went from stressful mornings to a family routine that works
Using a shared digital calendar to reduce the mental load of motherhood
Getting kids involved in chores and household responsibilities
Creating practical systems for recurring tasks, even when you're not naturally organized
Managing time and energy while working full-time and studying
Recognizing burnout and making room for rest without guilt
Why small changes over time can make everyday life easier
If you're a working mom balancing career demands, family responsibilities, or your own ambitions, Perpetua's experience offers some practical ideas you can adapt to your own life. We also explore how these same principles apply to entrepreneurs managing their businesses.
