Welcome! I have a knack for explaining stuff and I want to share some knowledge with you.I received a BA in chemistry from Carleton College, and performed graduate studies in both synthetic organic chemistry and science education at Cal State Northridge, receiving an MA in the latter. Prior to this I taught for about a decade in various high school and undergraduate settings, specializing in organic chemistry but also teaching general chemistry, physics, and biology. This channel is for students at the high school and undergraduate level, but it is also for members of the general public who just want to know more about the world and how things work. My goal is to increase science literacy in our society, so please share these tutorials with anyone that you think might enjoy them. We know about inverse functions, and we know about trigonometric functions, so it's time to learn about inverse trigonometric functions! These are functions where you plug in valid values that trig functions can possess, and they spit out the angles that produce them. There's a little more to it th…
If you're going to interact with Italians, you definitely will have to be able to ask and answer the basic "What's up?" and "How's it going?" in order to get very far. Oh man, what is all this sine and cosine business? What do these things even mean?! And Greek letters now? I don't know Greek! OK friend, just relax. Understanding the trig functions is as easy as pi radians. We just make some triangles and set up a few definitions. I promise it's no sweat, just wa…
Alright, it's time to get into some more challenging math! Trigonometry is a subject that many people find intimidating, but once you understand some new ways to look at angles and some functions that pertain to them, it's really not so bad! First things first, let's make sure we understand what a …
