À PROPOS DE CET ÉPISODE
"Against Jovinianus" by Saint Jerome is a passionate rebuttal of the treatise by Jovinianus, who challenged traditional Christian views on virginity, marriage, and sin. Jerome meticulously addresses Jovinianus's claims, arguing for the superiority of virginity and the importance of abstinence in the eyes of God. He draws upon both the Old and New Testaments, weaving in examples from the broader world to reinforce his points. This work remains significant today as it delves into enduring themes of faith, morality, and the value of personal sacrifice, inviting listeners to reflect on the complexities of spiritual commitment and the ongoing dialogue surrounding faith and lifestyle choices.
