EP #4 - Guest Pastor Steve Davenport on KZUM 8/1/2026

WEBVTT
00:00:01.120 --> 00:00:03.200
Welcome to a world of mystery.
00:00:04.559 --> 00:00:07.759
A world so dark that you can barely see it.
00:00:09.039 --> 00:00:16.079
A world where the macabre becomes a reality, and your reality becomes a screen.
00:00:17.600 --> 00:00:22.239
Coming to you from Lincoln, Nebraska, here is your host, Kane Stevens.
00:00:22.640 --> 00:00:27.760
But Kane Stevens, Paranormal Super Super Show.
00:00:30.640 --> 00:00:31.839
All right, everybody.
00:00:31.920 --> 00:00:34.960
Welcome back to the Kane Stevens Paranormal Super Show.
00:00:35.039 --> 00:00:35.840
You guys made it back.
00:00:35.920 --> 00:00:41.200
You made it to the spooky side of town, and you found your spooky captain for the evening.
00:00:41.280 --> 00:00:52.479
It is me, it is Kane Stevens, and I am so glad to be talking to you guys here on the FM dial and really bringing my brand of what I do to you guys.
00:00:52.640 --> 00:00:54.960
And I have a treat for you guys tonight.
00:00:55.119 --> 00:00:56.479
I want you guys to buckle up.
00:00:56.960 --> 00:00:59.359
I want you to keep your arms and legs in the vehicle.
00:00:59.439 --> 00:01:03.759
And I want you guys to enjoy the ride because it's going to be a fantastic one.
00:01:03.920 --> 00:01:05.040
I'm going to do something.
00:01:05.120 --> 00:01:09.439
I'm going to bring on a person that I respect so much for so many reasons.
00:01:10.079 --> 00:01:11.599
He's one of my favorite people.
00:01:11.760 --> 00:01:16.239
He's a very uh I find him to be a super intellectual guy.
00:01:16.560 --> 00:01:18.879
Maybe just because I'm a dumb guy, I don't know.
00:01:19.040 --> 00:01:20.719
But I think that he's great.
00:01:20.879 --> 00:01:22.079
And uh, I don't know.
00:01:22.159 --> 00:01:28.959
I just look up to this guy and he's gonna bring a perspective that we don't get to talk about a lot on the paranormal side of things.
00:01:29.040 --> 00:01:42.640
Uh, we're gonna talk about the supernatural, but we're also gonna dive into the biblical side of the supernatural and get the church's perspective of what we're looking what we're dealing with here, what we're looking at.
00:01:42.719 --> 00:01:52.480
So buckle up everybody and just just join us for this uh this incredible journey into what I can only hope is going to be a great conversation.
00:01:52.640 --> 00:01:54.719
So I'm gonna bring him on right now.
00:01:55.040 --> 00:02:02.000
He is a champion power lifter, he is a pastor here in town uh at Calvary Community Church.
00:02:02.319 --> 00:02:06.079
He is a guy who loves 80s action flicks as much as I do.
00:02:06.239 --> 00:02:13.280
He loves the WWF in all of its glory from when it was uh you know late 80s, early 90s gold.
00:02:13.599 --> 00:02:20.319
He is a guy that I go to lunch with, and we also enjoy the fine cuisine here in Lincoln.
00:02:20.400 --> 00:02:22.639
He is Pastor Steve Davenport.
00:02:22.879 --> 00:02:24.080
Steve, how are you doing today?
00:02:24.400 --> 00:02:25.360
I'm doing wonderful.
00:02:25.599 --> 00:02:27.120
Honored to be on your show.
00:02:27.439 --> 00:02:29.199
Man, it it's great having you.
00:02:29.280 --> 00:02:33.199
Uh, you know, I I listened to your sermons online.
00:02:33.520 --> 00:02:36.960
Uh, I've I I had a hard time growing up.
00:02:37.120 --> 00:02:43.280
I was very uh skeptical of the church and of a lot of the pastors, and no offense to them.
00:02:43.360 --> 00:02:50.240
You know, yeah, this is not an indoctrination or uh maybe I need a better word for that, but this is not me going after the church.
00:02:50.319 --> 00:02:55.120
I'm just saying I never really connected with any of the pastors that I saw before.
00:02:55.280 --> 00:03:05.919
Uh, but when I first saw your style and how you tied in the history, and I don't know, it's your delivery, it's your bringing in uh all sorts of things, nostalgia.
00:03:06.159 --> 00:03:09.360
You really just kind of hit me right in the heart at the right times.
00:03:09.520 --> 00:03:16.319
And I just, to be honest with you, I really enjoy the way you deliver the good book, my friend.
00:03:16.960 --> 00:03:22.879
Well, you know, I don't know how in the world people can take the greatest book ever written and bore people to tears with it.
00:03:23.039 --> 00:03:25.199
I mean, to me, that's somewhat of a mystery.
00:03:25.439 --> 00:03:32.159
Um, you know, Jesus obviously came to be the truth of the way, the truth, and the life.
00:03:32.319 --> 00:03:43.439
And uh even if you don't accept his claim to be the son of God, you know, skeptics have looked at his life and say he's the greatest human being who ever lived.
00:03:43.680 --> 00:04:03.680
I mean, obviously the world is a much better place because of Jesus, but you know, there is this thing throughout his his time on earth, he did claim to be the son of God, and that's what sets um, you know, the Christian belief in Jesus, say, from the secular acknowledgement that Jesus was a philosopher, a great teacher.
00:04:03.840 --> 00:04:07.759
Um, you know, and the Bible is a supernatural book.
00:04:08.080 --> 00:04:12.080
Um, the Bible is full of supernatural events.
00:04:12.159 --> 00:04:16.319
There's there's we've talked about this before, there's three ways of viewing reality.
00:04:16.480 --> 00:04:24.399
Philosophy is the quest for what is true or what is real, and then also how we know it to be true and real.
00:04:25.120 --> 00:04:28.079
Um, and there's three different ways of viewing reality.
00:04:28.240 --> 00:04:30.000
One is is naturalism.
00:04:30.319 --> 00:04:38.000
Basically, there's nothing that's real, um, that's not natural, that's not material.
00:04:38.160 --> 00:04:42.240
If you can't perceive it with the senses, then well, it simply doesn't exist.
00:04:43.040 --> 00:05:04.720
Secondly, there is a non-natural worldview, and that is the worldview that is held by uh Buddhists, Hindus, um, Shintoism, Taoism, the religions of the Far East that says that anything physical is but an illusion of the spiritual, that everything is spiritual.
00:05:05.040 --> 00:05:18.160
Going back to naturalism, that is the view of secular humanism, uh, Marxism, postmodernism, they totally deny anything in that that would be spiritual.
00:05:18.480 --> 00:05:20.879
The non-natural worldview does the opposite.
00:05:21.040 --> 00:05:23.279
They deny anything that is material.
00:05:23.680 --> 00:05:31.040
So the the laptop that I'm I'm talking to you from is not really a laptop, it is an illusion of something that is spiritual.
00:05:31.360 --> 00:05:40.319
Our bodies, you know, the the Star Wars movies that we all love and adore is full of non-naturalism philosophy.
00:05:40.560 --> 00:05:48.240
Um, yeah, they're uh unlike pastors, I don't think we should withdraw from society and and not engage in entertainment.
00:05:48.319 --> 00:05:48.959
Of course not.
00:05:49.040 --> 00:05:54.000
I just think that when you watch certain things, you need to know the perspective and the angle they come from.
00:05:54.160 --> 00:06:00.639
It's probably not a good idea to shape your the philosophy that governs your life on a movie.
00:06:02.480 --> 00:06:05.439
But you can still enjoy that movie, you know.
00:06:05.600 --> 00:06:20.560
And then, of course, there's the third, the third view is supernaturalism, and that says that reality is is comprised of both natural and non-natural elements, and and that is the worldview that is depicted in the Bible.
00:06:20.720 --> 00:06:26.240
We have a God, an eternal God, who's always been, who always will be.
00:06:26.560 --> 00:06:29.120
He exists outside of time and space.
00:06:29.360 --> 00:06:35.680
He created time and space, and he created beings that inhabit time and space.
00:06:35.839 --> 00:06:39.199
That's the physical world that we see around us.
00:06:39.519 --> 00:06:49.519
He also made man, and man is material, immaterial composition, meaning that we have a physical body.
00:06:49.759 --> 00:06:56.720
When it dies, then there's a there's an immaterial part of us that goes on and lives forever.
00:06:56.959 --> 00:07:06.480
Um, then the Bible teaches it lives forever in one of two places, it lives either in heaven or it lives in hell, depending on how you answered the Jesus question.
00:07:06.879 --> 00:07:14.000
Um, but the Bible is a supernatural book, it is filled with supernatural elements.
00:07:14.639 --> 00:07:25.199
Um you know, when you talk about the miracles, okay, miracles are supernatural, whether it's Moses' rod turning into a snake in Egypt.
00:07:25.519 --> 00:07:32.480
Notice that the the magicians uh in Pharaoh's court were able to duplicate that.
00:07:32.879 --> 00:07:39.680
Um, so obviously there is good supernaturalism and there's bad supernaturalism.
00:07:39.920 --> 00:07:46.480
Um some of the plagues of Egypt that Moses brought, uh, they were not able to duplicate.
00:07:46.639 --> 00:07:50.240
Uh, the parting of the Red Sea, obviously, big supernatural event.
00:07:50.319 --> 00:07:54.000
Those are things that you don't normally see happening in nature.
00:07:54.319 --> 00:07:58.079
Um the the the dead coming back to life.
00:07:58.319 --> 00:08:00.720
That obviously is a supernatural event.
00:08:00.800 --> 00:08:03.439
The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
00:08:03.680 --> 00:08:05.279
That is a supernatural event.
00:08:05.360 --> 00:08:09.759
And so you also have things along the spooky round, too, in the Bible.
00:08:09.920 --> 00:08:19.920
You have uh when when Saul uh could no longer hear from God through prophets because of his hardened heart, what did he do?
00:08:20.079 --> 00:08:27.120
He engaged the services of a necromancer, and it was something was forbidden in the scriptures.
00:08:27.360 --> 00:08:34.159
And Saul goes and he enlists the services of this necromancer, and she says, Who do you want me to call up?
00:08:34.399 --> 00:08:36.080
And he says, Call up Samuel.
00:08:36.240 --> 00:08:41.840
Well, this particular necromancer, she she obviously had a familiar spirit.
00:08:42.000 --> 00:08:55.600
That is what the old King James translated, meaning that she was familiar, she was in regular contact with a demon who could imitate the dead.
00:08:56.080 --> 00:08:59.519
And so she said, Who shall I call up?
00:08:59.759 --> 00:09:04.080
And she was letting her familiar spirit know, I need you to imitate Samuel.
00:09:04.320 --> 00:09:05.919
Well, something strange happened.
00:09:06.159 --> 00:09:12.639
God allowed Samuel to leave paradise where his soul was and actually make it back to earth.
00:09:12.799 --> 00:09:17.440
And he told Saul, You're done, you're finished, you've crossed the line here.
00:09:17.519 --> 00:09:38.480
I mean, God's been very merciful to you now for a long time, and you have rebelled and you've done wrong, and now you have this this particular sin here of necromancy is the last straw for you, and not only for you, but for your sons, because of your sin, tomorrow you and your sons will all die in battle, which he did.
00:09:38.799 --> 00:09:44.799
So scriptures are just so filled with with supernatural uh events.
00:09:44.960 --> 00:10:08.559
Uh well, one of the more frightening stories in all the Bible is in the Gospel of Mark and Luke, where uh the the Mark and Luke record the story of a man who was demon-possessed, and he was so possessed by demons, multiple demons, a legion of demons, that he ran around naked, had no clothes, so he had no shame whatsoever.
00:10:08.720 --> 00:10:21.519
Uh he dwelled in the tombs, which those things which were normally repulsive to us, he was completely comfortable living among rotting horses.
00:10:22.159 --> 00:10:24.559
Um very bizarre behavior.
00:10:24.799 --> 00:10:29.360
He was self-mutilating, he was crying out aloud.
00:10:29.600 --> 00:10:37.759
The the mental anguish this this man was in just had to be something that's almost incomprehensible.
00:10:38.000 --> 00:10:41.759
And uh they they bound him with chains.
00:10:42.159 --> 00:10:52.799
He was such a threat to himself and others, they bound him with chains, and yet because of the demonic presence in him, he was so strong he could break those chains.
00:10:53.200 --> 00:11:01.519
And so literally, this man was terrorizing the the entire region of Decapolis, which was ten towns.
00:11:02.080 --> 00:11:06.480
And um story ended really well.
00:11:06.720 --> 00:11:11.600
Jesus quit teaching the multitudes, he crossed the sea, he encountered a storm.
00:11:11.679 --> 00:11:15.039
I believe that storm was a supernatural storm.
00:11:15.440 --> 00:11:21.120
I don't believe the demons wanted him, and the demons do have some control of the elements.
00:11:21.440 --> 00:11:26.639
Anyway, Jesus calmed the winds and the waves, he gets off the boat, the disciples won't know part of this.
00:11:26.879 --> 00:11:30.639
They know who lives in this area, they know why people avoid this area.
00:11:30.879 --> 00:11:35.679
And it didn't bother Jesus, and he went and um they didn't even have to call the man out.
00:11:35.759 --> 00:11:38.879
The man knew Christ was there, and he ran and fell at his feet.
00:11:38.960 --> 00:11:42.159
And the demons said, Do not torment us before this time.
00:11:42.399 --> 00:11:44.559
Meaning, there we know there's a judgment coming.
00:11:44.639 --> 00:11:47.759
Just please don't throw us in the abyss of the bottomless pit.
00:11:48.240 --> 00:11:55.679
And uh Jesus cast the demons out of the man, and the disciples finally summoned the courage to get off the boat.
00:11:55.840 --> 00:12:00.320
They want to see what's happening, and they find Jesus, and here's the man sitting at his feet.
00:12:00.480 --> 00:12:06.159
He's clothed, he's in his right mind, and he wants to be disciple number 13.
00:12:06.240 --> 00:12:08.480
He said, Jesus, you got room for one more?
00:12:08.720 --> 00:12:10.480
And uh he says, No, here's what I want.
00:12:10.639 --> 00:12:12.399
I want I want you to go around all these towns.
00:12:12.480 --> 00:12:17.200
I want you to walk into town now, and I want you to show them what I've done for you.
00:12:17.360 --> 00:12:23.120
And and he became one of the greatest witnesses to Christ, you know, during his earthly ministry.
00:12:23.279 --> 00:12:34.879
But uh, you know, people understand that when you read the gospels, 25% of Christ's earthly ministry involved direct confrontation with demonic powers.
00:12:35.600 --> 00:12:43.919
And here in the West, we're only getting on board this train because we're starting to see more and more uh paranormal activity.
00:12:44.000 --> 00:12:55.360
And I and I and you know, it's it's my opinion, and I believe that it aligns with scripture, that paranormal activity is in line with is is is uh the result of demons.
00:12:56.080 --> 00:13:09.440
Um that people are truly seeing something that is real, they're experiencing something that is real, it should be taken seriously, and that's where modern psychology came gets it wrong.
00:13:09.679 --> 00:13:22.000
Most of our modern psychologists are trained in the naturalist worldview that you know man is nothing but molecules, and there's no immaterial part of us.
00:13:22.080 --> 00:13:36.399
And I have visited a lot of people in different psychiatric wards that, frankly, uh the medical community is unable to help because we're more than just molecules.
00:13:36.639 --> 00:13:40.799
There's a spiritual aspect of that's there's spiritual warfare that's going on.
00:13:40.960 --> 00:13:51.519
There are demons, they do afflict human beings, uh, they do possess certain human beings, and you're not going to make that any better by swallowing a pill.
00:13:51.759 --> 00:13:54.879
Now, and I'm not downing psychiatric medication.
00:13:54.960 --> 00:13:59.279
If you're listening and you're on psychiatric medication, you do what your doctor says do.
00:13:59.360 --> 00:14:10.480
But I'm just saying that if your depression that you're experiencing is because of guilt, uh, there's only one, there's only one way to remedy that, and that's through repentance and restoration to Christ.
00:14:10.639 --> 00:14:12.480
Um, and he can help you do that.
00:14:12.559 --> 00:14:15.120
It doesn't matter what you've done, doesn't matter what you're guilty of.
00:14:15.200 --> 00:14:17.360
He's he's able to save anybody.
00:14:17.600 --> 00:14:22.879
Um But I do think a number of years ago, I was I was in a psychiatric ward.
00:14:22.960 --> 00:14:30.559
I had there's a young lady who's coming our youth crew, beautiful young lady, and I I heard that she had cut herself.
00:14:30.960 --> 00:14:33.600
And um I was familiar with the practice of cutting.
00:14:33.679 --> 00:14:36.720
I'd studied it because a lot of kids were doing it.
00:14:36.879 --> 00:14:41.919
And literally, just like the man in the gospels, he was cutting himself.
00:14:42.240 --> 00:14:50.080
That the mental anguish can be so great that the only relief is to inflict physical anguish.
00:14:50.720 --> 00:14:57.360
And that that that temporary physical pain actually takes your mind off the mental pain.
00:14:57.600 --> 00:14:59.279
That's what demons can do to us.
00:14:59.440 --> 00:15:08.879
This young lady, she had not just made a uh a slit across her wrist, she actually cut herself from wrist all the way to elbow.
00:15:09.279 --> 00:15:14.480
And do you imagine the concentration it would take to do that to yourself?
00:15:14.720 --> 00:15:19.200
She did it to both both of her arms, and then she did it to her groin.
00:15:19.440 --> 00:15:32.000
And so it was obvious that the demonic presence that was influencing her or even possessing her was um wanted her to die.
00:15:32.320 --> 00:15:34.559
You know, wanted to kill her.
00:15:35.039 --> 00:15:39.039
In the New Testament, there was a young boy who was demon-possessed.
00:15:39.120 --> 00:15:40.159
What did he do?
00:15:40.559 --> 00:15:44.240
He the father came to the disciples and said, I need help.
00:15:44.480 --> 00:15:53.200
Every time he goes by a body of water, the demon throws him in, or fire, he throws him in, trying to drown him, trying to burn him to death.
00:15:53.360 --> 00:15:59.279
And this demon was so powerful the disciples couldn't help him, so they brought him to Jesus, and of course, Jesus was able to help him.
00:15:59.519 --> 00:16:06.559
But um it's uh the the devil is it specializes in three things.
00:16:06.879 --> 00:16:11.600
He comes to steal, he comes to kill, and he comes to destroy.
00:16:11.840 --> 00:16:16.960
And when you see demonic presence in people's life, you see these types of activities.
00:16:17.759 --> 00:16:20.879
The most pronounced, of course, is self-destruction.
00:16:21.279 --> 00:16:31.120
And it's uh it's very real in our culture, and it's something that we better wake up to and just stop dismissing it as well, you're just imagining things, you're just seeing things.
00:16:31.519 --> 00:16:38.159
Cain, usually every year, somebody comes to me as a pastor with a paranormal problem.
00:16:39.200 --> 00:16:46.000
Uh, something in their house, you know, um, usually it's something in their house.
00:16:46.159 --> 00:16:50.000
And uh number of years ago, uh a young lady called me.
00:16:50.080 --> 00:16:53.519
She was in uh, I was pastoring in North Dakota at the time.
00:16:54.080 --> 00:16:57.919
She still lived here in Lincoln, and sweet girl.
00:16:58.000 --> 00:17:05.519
And she'd had a she'd had a daughter and they were living in an apartment, and and she said, uh, Pastor, I'm calling you because nobody else believed me.
00:17:05.599 --> 00:17:08.160
My parents don't believe me, my pastor didn't believe me.
00:17:08.480 --> 00:17:17.200
And she described to me the entity that she had seen, that her daughter had seen, and that a guest who came over to spend the night had seen.
00:17:17.359 --> 00:17:19.440
So here's three eyewitnesses.
00:17:19.839 --> 00:17:24.000
And I said, Um, you are experiencing something that is demonic.
00:17:24.079 --> 00:17:25.839
And then I asked her a few questions.
00:17:26.000 --> 00:17:29.279
You know, have you have you played with a Ouija board?
00:17:29.440 --> 00:17:34.160
Have you um, you know, had to ask a very personal question?
00:17:34.319 --> 00:17:36.559
Have you been sexually molested?
00:17:36.960 --> 00:17:46.960
Um there seems to be, Cain, a link between the sexual abuse of minors and and demon possession.
00:17:47.200 --> 00:17:48.559
Not in every case.
00:17:48.960 --> 00:17:57.039
I think in extreme cases, it opens a pathway uh so that demons can possess someone.
00:17:57.839 --> 00:18:01.759
Certainly um demons can oppress.
00:18:02.160 --> 00:18:05.039
Okay, there's a difference between possess and oppress.
00:18:05.279 --> 00:18:14.960
Oppress means they attack you from without, they can afflict you, possession means they actually come in and they take control of your mind.
00:18:15.359 --> 00:18:20.559
And and that's where split personalities um come into affect.
00:18:20.720 --> 00:18:27.440
And and I mean I'm dealing with a young man right now who's who manifests all of those characteristics.
00:18:27.680 --> 00:18:42.240
Um once again, he he he's confessed to me that when he was a young man, he he he was involved in the occult quite heavily and you know actually did some things where he invited these demons to come in.
00:18:42.319 --> 00:18:46.720
And um, you know, he's attending church now on Sunday.
00:18:47.039 --> 00:19:02.319
He can be the sweetest young man, help anybody, love everybody, but then in the night, this demon will take him, and I will start getting texts written in all caps, speaking unspeakable things, mostly talking about harming himself.
00:19:02.480 --> 00:19:13.759
And um, you know, we we've we've had to we've had to get him professional help, but um unfortunately, professional help is no help when it comes to uh dealing with the something like this.
00:19:13.920 --> 00:19:21.920
You just need we need to adjust your medication, and that you know that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't get rid of that demon that took him many years ago.
00:19:22.880 --> 00:19:24.319
Dolling the senses, isn't it?
00:19:24.400 --> 00:19:29.839
I mean, that's really all doing with this medication is they're they're just dulling the senses.
00:19:30.000 --> 00:19:38.640
But uh, I mean, for the listener out there, uh, I know a lot of you, uh, especially in this realm of radio, you guys are probably naysayers in a lot of this.
00:19:38.720 --> 00:19:48.000
And now I think it's important to bring this perspective to you because one, they sensationalize on all of our entertainment.
00:19:48.079 --> 00:19:50.400
And trust me, we all watch the same shows.
00:19:50.559 --> 00:19:55.440
We all they sensationalize the demonic and and this.
00:19:56.480 --> 00:19:57.839
It's very interesting.
00:19:57.920 --> 00:20:08.079
Uh, we're kind of in like a we're kind of in like a battlefield scenario of what what is being sensationalized in our entertainment and what isn't.
00:20:08.160 --> 00:20:09.359
I mean, it's nonstop.
00:20:09.440 --> 00:20:21.200
I've heard you talk about it uh many times with me about and and through sermons and different things about how Hollywood it's almost like they have this strange agenda, right?
00:20:21.279 --> 00:20:32.720
Like they want to make it so um so fantastic and so so normal that this is what this is what regular life is supposed to look like for everybody.
00:20:32.799 --> 00:20:35.519
And to me, it's the most terrifying thing, Steve.
00:20:35.759 --> 00:20:40.319
To me, uh, there's nothing more terrifying than the demonic.
00:20:40.480 --> 00:20:42.960
And I've seen some things in my investigations.
00:20:43.119 --> 00:20:45.839
I've lived in a house where I had to call a priest.
00:20:46.000 --> 00:20:49.519
I I actually called the Catholic Church, begged them to come out.
00:20:49.680 --> 00:20:50.799
They wouldn't come out at first.
00:20:50.960 --> 00:20:52.160
They did come out eventually.
00:20:52.319 --> 00:20:55.119
I said, I have little children here, I have things going on.
00:20:55.440 --> 00:21:00.400
I've been I've been grabbed by my ankle by something that's not there and pulled backwards.
00:21:00.559 --> 00:21:03.200
Now, Steve's a big guy, I'm also a big guy.
00:21:03.359 --> 00:21:08.640
It would take a certain force to be able, I'm not saying it pulled me across the room like the movies.
00:21:08.799 --> 00:21:19.200
I'm saying something, I felt a hand around my ankle pull me backwards, and that has sent me on a collision course with what the heck is this going on?
00:21:19.359 --> 00:21:19.599
Right.
00:21:19.759 --> 00:21:30.240
Um, but when I it's very real, it is, and it's very it's very serious, and uh I mean the the the comforting thought of this is that that we can go to the Bible for answers.
00:21:30.480 --> 00:21:41.440
You know, it I understand that probably a lot of your listening audience is is probably not Christian, but you know, who do you're gonna who are you gonna turn to for absolute truth?
00:21:41.759 --> 00:21:44.079
You're either gonna turn to man or you're gonna turn to God.
00:21:44.319 --> 00:21:48.880
You know, I I happen to believe this book here that I hold in my hand is is the word of God.
00:21:48.960 --> 00:21:50.240
It's inspired.
00:21:50.480 --> 00:22:03.599
Um, you know, God used 40 different authors over a period of 1600 years on three different continents using three different languages to To put together essentially his love letter to humanity.
00:22:03.839 --> 00:22:12.000
It explains where we came from, it explains what went wrong with us, it explains uh how it can all be fixed and where it's all headed.
00:22:12.240 --> 00:22:15.920
And um, you know, get over the book of Revelation.
00:22:16.000 --> 00:22:23.839
You talk about supernaturalism, uh, revelation is meant to be taken literally, and man, you've got demons coming up out of the bottomless pit.
00:22:23.920 --> 00:22:30.319
You've got, well, I say fallen angels, I personally believe fallen angels and demons are two separate things.
00:22:30.480 --> 00:22:47.359
I think demons are the departed spirits of the Nephilim from Genesis chapter six, where fallen angels came down to earth and they intermarried, took on human form, intermarried with women, and then they produce giant offspring.
00:22:47.519 --> 00:22:48.799
Genesis chapter six.
00:22:49.039 --> 00:22:50.799
Go to our church's website.
00:22:50.960 --> 00:23:04.880
Um, I preached two or three Sundays on that, explaining why I believe that really the supernatural view there, that the angels intermarried with women, they had kids, they were neither fully human, they were fully human.
00:23:04.960 --> 00:23:08.880
I'm sorry, they were they're partially human, partially angelic.
00:23:09.039 --> 00:23:18.160
And so therefore, when they died, when they died, um, they went to neither heaven nor hell, but rather their spirits here are on earth.
00:23:18.240 --> 00:23:20.640
Uh, they perished in the flood of Noah.
00:23:20.960 --> 00:23:26.880
Um, you know, interesting that Jesus talked about demons inhabit waterless places.
00:23:27.519 --> 00:23:29.119
Uh, they don't like water.
00:23:29.279 --> 00:23:37.440
There's a reason why the Catholic Church uses holy water during exorcisms because demons do not like water.
00:23:38.000 --> 00:23:46.960
Um, so I believe that the the things that possess human beings now and oppress human beings are the departed spirits of the Nephilim.
00:23:47.200 --> 00:23:50.319
I believe I personally believe there was a second fall.
00:23:50.640 --> 00:23:55.039
Uh, it happened during the days of Jared in Genesis chapter 5.
00:23:55.279 --> 00:24:06.240
Another group of angels fell and they came down to Mount Hermon and they they corrupted um uh they corrupted the human race.
00:24:06.400 --> 00:24:08.319
I'm sorry, that would have been the first fall.
00:24:08.559 --> 00:24:14.240
There was a second fall after the flood where there was a further corruption of the human race.
00:24:14.480 --> 00:24:19.359
Either way, you know, they tried to get in and destroy the seed of the Messiah.
00:24:19.519 --> 00:24:22.240
God had promised that the seed of the Messiah would come.
00:24:22.319 --> 00:24:25.519
Um, the Messiah would come through the seed of the woman.
00:24:25.759 --> 00:24:33.920
And uh so the devil was always trying to corrupt that seed with his own seed, and that's where the Nephilim came about.
00:24:34.079 --> 00:24:38.720
And um it's uh it squares totally with what the scriptures teach.
00:24:38.799 --> 00:24:40.640
So today we're talking about fallen angels.
00:24:40.799 --> 00:24:44.480
I believe the fallen angels are confined in the bottomless pit.
00:24:44.720 --> 00:24:49.839
I believe that the what we would call demons today are the departed spirits of Nephilim.
00:24:50.240 --> 00:24:53.759
Most of the church as a whole does not believe that.
00:24:54.000 --> 00:25:08.480
They believe that demons are fallen angels, but if you go back to the early church fathers, first, second, third century, and all their writings, they almost unanimously agreed that the demons were the departed spirits of Nephilim.
00:25:08.720 --> 00:25:20.960
It was only in the fourth century, ironically, when they also started interpreting Genesis 6 differently and trying to make that, well, these are just human monarchs intermarrying with peasant women.
00:25:21.119 --> 00:25:24.799
Well, it still didn't explain how the giants came about, you know.
00:25:25.039 --> 00:25:30.799
Um, but uh that's what I believe are the origin of demons, uh, or where they came from.
00:25:30.960 --> 00:25:40.559
You know, talking about uh Hollywood uh years ago when I was youth pastor here and was not lead pastor, you know, kids were always pastor, let's let's watch this movie.
00:25:40.720 --> 00:25:41.759
What do you think?
00:25:41.920 --> 00:25:48.400
And so I would, I would, I would watch movies, you know, for kids so that I could give them my perspective.
00:25:48.640 --> 00:25:54.160
Well, I had a bunch of kids one time said, you know, Pastor, uh, what do you think about the movie The Conjuring?
00:25:54.400 --> 00:26:00.640
I go, Well, I'm I'm not a big fan of horror movies, you know, but I I promise I'll watch it, give you my perspective.
00:26:00.799 --> 00:26:05.759
Well, I uh I uh made it through about half an hour.
00:26:05.920 --> 00:26:10.160
I made it to the part where where Bathsheba appeared in the window.
00:26:10.319 --> 00:26:19.119
And then that was and at that particular time, Cain, um I felt a cold presence fall over me.
00:26:19.839 --> 00:26:24.880
Uh it was in the fall of the year, so it wasn't exactly hot outside, but it wasn't cold either.
00:26:25.119 --> 00:26:31.680
I can remember physically feeling different, so much so that I just I turned the movie off.
00:26:31.839 --> 00:26:32.480
You know.
00:26:33.039 --> 00:26:36.000
Well, uh, that would have been on Saturday.
00:26:36.240 --> 00:26:43.039
Sunday, my curiosity got the better of me because I remember it on the radio show Michael Medvid.
00:26:43.359 --> 00:26:48.079
He had used to do movie reviews, and he said that the con drink was actually based on a real life story.
00:26:48.319 --> 00:26:53.039
So sitting at my kitchen table one night, have my laptop out, I'm gonna pull this up.
00:26:53.119 --> 00:26:55.920
I'd like to go back and find that interview that Michael Medvid did.
00:26:56.079 --> 00:27:03.839
I couldn't find it, but I I did find the story, and once again, that cold presence fell over.
00:27:04.079 --> 00:27:07.039
I started shivering, shaking violently.
00:27:07.359 --> 00:27:13.359
Um did thinking about, okay, well, this is uh something I just shouldn't be messing with, so I'll turn it down.
00:27:13.519 --> 00:27:17.839
Uh, went off, prayed, did my quiet time, read the Bible, didn't you know, thought nothing of it.
00:27:18.079 --> 00:27:27.359
Next day, I come home, my dog, who always greets me, greeted me at the door, saw me, and a look of horror came over.
00:27:27.440 --> 00:27:28.799
She started shrieking out loud.
00:27:28.960 --> 00:27:30.799
She ran ahead behind the couch.
00:27:30.960 --> 00:27:33.839
And I go, What is the matter with her?
00:27:34.400 --> 00:27:38.480
Tried to put the leash on her, go for a walk that night after I had my workout.
00:27:38.640 --> 00:27:39.839
She would not go with me.
00:27:39.920 --> 00:27:43.279
Normally, when she'd see the leash, she's ready to go.
00:27:43.519 --> 00:27:49.200
There was something that was there was a presence with me that she could sense.
00:27:49.680 --> 00:27:51.359
Well, the story gets worse.
00:27:51.680 --> 00:27:52.559
That was Monday.
00:27:52.799 --> 00:27:55.839
Wednesday, I'm at the dining room table even with my family.
00:27:56.480 --> 00:28:03.759
All of a sudden, there's a surge of power that comes through the chandelier, and all the bulbs in the chandelier burst all at once.
00:28:04.880 --> 00:28:14.319
Then I begin to notice okay, there's something, there was something about that movie and the way it affected me as a Christian pastor.
00:28:14.480 --> 00:28:17.200
There's a there's a spiritual attack going on.
00:28:18.079 --> 00:28:20.640
What happened next was even more bizarre.
00:28:20.880 --> 00:28:35.519
Thursday night, I go in, uh I set the thermostat downstairs to like 68 degrees because the upstairs is always hotter than downstairs, and I wake up in the middle of the night just burning up.
00:28:36.000 --> 00:28:48.559
I go downstairs, the thermostat is set to 68 degrees, but the actual temperature downstairs was 78, and the furnace was roaring full blast.
00:28:49.519 --> 00:28:54.079
Then I knew there I've done something here that I should not have done.
00:28:54.400 --> 00:28:58.640
And this was not just uh a case of me wanting information.
00:28:58.799 --> 00:29:04.799
I I ventured into territory that me as a Christian pastor should not have ventured into.
00:29:05.279 --> 00:29:09.599
And uh and after that, you know, I something happened.
00:29:09.680 --> 00:29:13.599
I think I prayed enough or God drove it away from me.
00:29:13.680 --> 00:29:22.799
But uh we got a break coming up here, and uh, you know, I'm gonna go ahead and play uh play a song, and then uh when we come back, we'll bump back in with another song.
00:29:22.880 --> 00:29:25.759
And when we're back, uh we'll we'll continue this.
00:29:25.839 --> 00:29:27.440
So I don't want you guys to go anywhere.
00:29:27.599 --> 00:29:35.359
All the listeners out there, this is an extremely important conversation to be had, and I don't want you guys turning that dial.
00:29:35.440 --> 00:29:36.319
Don't go anywhere.
00:29:36.480 --> 00:29:37.920
So stick around, everybody.
00:29:38.079 --> 00:29:47.839
When we come back, we'll be back with Pastor Steve Davenport from Calvary Community Church talking about the biblical side of the supernatural.
00:29:52.000 --> 00:29:54.480
All right, I know you guys didn't go anywhere.
00:29:54.640 --> 00:29:59.599
I know you guys are back, and you guys made it back to a doozy, everybody.
00:29:59.680 --> 00:30:05.920
So you are listening to the Kane Stevens Paranormal Super Show, and I am your spooky captain once again, Kane Stevens.
00:30:06.000 --> 00:30:12.079
And this one is going to be a bumpy, maybe turbulent ride, but it's going to be a good ride indeed.
00:30:12.319 --> 00:30:18.000
I have, as my guest, I have Pastor Steve Davenport from Calvary Community Church.
00:30:18.079 --> 00:30:22.720
He's a friend of mine, he's a he's a guy that I respect, uh, very much so.
00:30:22.880 --> 00:30:27.039
And I know that you guys are going to either love or hate what he has to say.
00:30:27.200 --> 00:30:43.359
I don't think Steve cares so much if you uh, you know, Steve, yeah, he he is just a guy who he has he has his opinions, he has done the learning, he has done the the research, and he has been in the church for a long time.
00:30:43.440 --> 00:30:45.440
So, Steve, welcome back to the show.
00:30:45.839 --> 00:30:46.480
Yeah.
00:30:46.960 --> 00:30:48.000
Good to be here.
00:30:48.240 --> 00:31:05.920
So, Steve, I know that you grew up in uh I know that you grew up in the south, and I know uh I do want to ask you before we kind of dive into your um to the story that I I had to cut you off on uh for the break, but I know you grew up in the south uh around Atlanta area, correct?
00:31:07.039 --> 00:31:09.359
And so, I mean, there's a lot going on down there.
00:31:09.440 --> 00:31:14.559
I mean, there's the you've you've got Civil War sites literally everywhere.
00:31:15.039 --> 00:31:23.839
So, I mean, uh, in your time uh going back there and living in those areas, I mean, did you ever growing up experience?
00:31:24.000 --> 00:31:33.759
I know you've experienced things being a man of God, but did you ever experience anything uh of the ghostly realm uh that truly scared you when you were younger?
00:31:34.160 --> 00:31:37.119
You know, not personally, no.
00:31:37.359 --> 00:31:41.759
Um, the spiritual influence around our home was so strong.
00:31:42.400 --> 00:31:48.960
Um, you know, I don't think with the prayers of my mother, any demon would have come within two miles of our place.
00:31:49.200 --> 00:31:52.400
I mean, she was a prayer warrior, she was a godly woman.
00:31:52.480 --> 00:31:56.480
Um so that, I mean, that was that we had a strong household.
00:31:56.720 --> 00:32:08.400
Um, however, my grandmother grew up in the Great Depression, and she often told stories of uh the house that she lived in, uh, that she died that she actually died in.
00:32:08.640 --> 00:32:15.759
Um and I won't say, Grandma, you you only go spend the night with you, but then you tell me these stories about things you've seen in this house.
00:32:16.000 --> 00:32:20.799
And it was an old home, and a man had died in that house.
00:32:20.880 --> 00:32:29.279
And my grandmother used to show me there was a there was an intention on the old refrigerator that they kept where when he fell, his head hit the ground.
00:32:29.440 --> 00:32:34.240
And and so she would say that she would see ghosts in the middle of the night.
00:32:34.480 --> 00:32:44.559
Uh, my uncle, who certainly was not given to any sensationalism, after my grandmother died, we're sitting at Chick-fil-A eating lunch.
00:32:44.720 --> 00:32:47.839
And I asked him, I said, Well, Uncle, what are you gonna do with that with the house now?
00:32:47.920 --> 00:32:49.279
And he goes, I'm selling it.
00:32:49.440 --> 00:32:50.640
I said, Why are you gonna do that?
00:32:50.720 --> 00:32:52.480
He goes, Because it's haunted.
00:32:52.720 --> 00:32:55.839
And I said, Well, tell me, tell me what's going on.
00:32:55.920 --> 00:33:01.200
And he just said there was always these apparitions, these spirits that were showing up.
00:33:01.440 --> 00:33:04.000
And uh these were this was my grandma.
00:33:04.240 --> 00:33:12.640
I can say, okay, maybe my my grandmother was very, very lucid, she was very sharp um up until the last two or three years.
00:33:12.720 --> 00:33:15.599
So when she would have told us the story, she'd been in her 50s.
00:33:15.759 --> 00:33:21.759
My grandmother lost uh three daughters in her lifetime.
00:33:22.000 --> 00:33:24.079
She had five daughters, three of them died.
00:33:24.160 --> 00:33:31.440
Uh one of them died tragically in the car wreck, one died of diabetes complications in her 30s, mysteriously in the middle of the night.
00:33:31.519 --> 00:33:36.480
And another baby was with the one died in infancy, sudden infant death syndrome.
00:33:36.640 --> 00:33:40.880
Uh, so she was a lady who had experienced a lot of tragedy in life.
00:33:41.359 --> 00:33:47.920
She she would actually say that her daughter, who was killed in the car wreck, would come visit her in the middle of the night.
00:33:48.240 --> 00:33:56.000
And um I I don't doubt that my grandmother did receive a visit from a supernatural being.
00:33:56.160 --> 00:33:58.160
It just wasn't, it wasn't her daughter.
00:33:58.319 --> 00:34:00.720
It was a demon who was pretending to be her daughter.
00:34:00.799 --> 00:34:15.440
And and Kate, that's where the that's where the danger, the danger of the of the demonic world is, is you know, they they're supernatural beings, so they have powers and abilities, you know, beyond that of our of what we do.
00:34:15.599 --> 00:34:27.519
They can take on different forms, they can uh they can mimic the voice, they know things about you know our deceased loved ones because demons have access to our minds.
00:34:27.599 --> 00:34:43.679
We're not sure how much access they have, but you know, you go to a necromancer, more than likely you're probably getting a crackpot, you know, but there's an outside chance you may be getting somebody who's actually in contact.
00:34:43.920 --> 00:34:59.119
They are familiar with a spirit, and they're in contact with a demon, and that demon is powerful enough so that when a customer comes in, pays the money, that demon's able to access their mind and know things about this person that they wouldn't that the stranger wouldn't know.
00:34:59.360 --> 00:35:05.199
And and you're in very serious trouble when you're in the in the press of something like that.
00:35:05.360 --> 00:35:12.639
And uh, you know, if you're if you're having contact with a with a spirit being right now, you you got to be very careful.
00:35:12.800 --> 00:35:15.760
Uh you know, you need you need we need to break that off.
00:35:15.840 --> 00:35:18.639
It's that's not your grandmother, that's not your aunt, your uncle.
00:35:18.800 --> 00:35:21.840
Uh that is a demon, and that demon means you harm.
00:35:21.920 --> 00:35:24.719
They are not going to do anything in your best interest.
00:35:25.280 --> 00:35:30.960
Um well, how real how real is uh like Ouija boards, for example?
00:35:31.119 --> 00:35:36.000
I mean, what I I mean, how real is the threat of using a Ouija board?
00:35:36.159 --> 00:35:37.920
I mean, anything could be a tool.
00:35:38.079 --> 00:35:53.119
To be honest with you, anything could be a tool used, but why is this uh this board that was put put forth as a simple kids' game, why has this become a place for people to have some of the wildest things happen to them?
00:35:53.440 --> 00:35:54.079
Yeah, C.S.
00:35:54.159 --> 00:35:58.719
Lewis said there's there's two dangers when we're talking about the demons.
00:35:59.039 --> 00:36:06.079
One is to pretend they don't exist, two is to have uh an infatuation with them.
00:36:06.320 --> 00:36:11.360
So for that reason, I have never actually done a research on a Ouija board.
00:36:11.440 --> 00:36:24.960
I just know anybody that I know who's ever messed with one came away extremely terrified or very depressed, or in some cases demon-possessed.
00:36:25.199 --> 00:36:34.320
They say, when I was visiting that young lady who had cut her wrists, I left her room, I walked around the corner and I heard this voice, Pastor Steve, Pastor Steve.
00:36:34.559 --> 00:36:39.360
Well, I went into a room, and here was a young man who at one time had been a part of my youth crew.
00:36:39.760 --> 00:36:45.039
And um, I sat there and visited with him, and he had been in the psych ward quite a while.
00:36:45.280 --> 00:36:47.920
So I still had his mother on my cell phone.
00:36:48.000 --> 00:36:53.440
So when I when I left the hospital, I I called his mother and I said, uh, hey, how are you doing?
00:36:53.519 --> 00:36:54.800
I just saw your son.
00:36:55.199 --> 00:36:57.840
She cut me off and she said, I'm so glad you called.
00:36:57.920 --> 00:36:59.840
My son is demon-possessed.
00:37:00.159 --> 00:37:06.639
Well, I actually had perceived that when I was in there with him because I felt like I was talking to two different individuals.
00:37:06.880 --> 00:37:17.760
I was talking to the young man that I I once knew as a middle school kid, and now I'm talking to a young man who um is a totally different, changed individual.
00:37:18.079 --> 00:37:26.960
And uh we we we carried on a conversation for a while, but the mother told me this all started when he when he messed with the Ouija board.
00:37:27.760 --> 00:37:38.559
And so I as far as the actual particulars of the Ouija board, Cain, I really can't give you any insights other than I just know bad things happen.
00:37:38.800 --> 00:37:45.760
And to me, it is a it is a direct gateway uh you know in into the demonic world.
00:37:45.920 --> 00:37:48.880
And that's gonna excite some people, they're gonna go do it.
00:37:49.119 --> 00:37:54.880
But I just tell you, these demons do not have your your best interest in mind, they're not here to help you.
00:37:55.119 --> 00:38:04.000
Any any earthly game they they they're gonna give you is is short-lived, and uh they're gonna take your soul potentially, and it's it's not worth it.
00:38:04.239 --> 00:38:06.400
That's certainly something I don't want to happen, though.
00:38:06.480 --> 00:38:17.440
I don't, I, you know, I don't when we talk about these type of things, uh like Ouija, I I don't want people out there to to rush, rush and and blast open a Ouija board.
00:38:17.599 --> 00:38:20.719
And so but yeah, you're right, there are some people who will do that.
00:38:20.960 --> 00:38:33.280
I can tell you from my experience, Steve, uh my first marriage, uh, we would mess around with the Ouija board, you know, we would go and and we would have a friend come over and we would and nothing would really happen.
00:38:33.519 --> 00:38:38.239
But I will say this, I will say that, and I've always wondered this to myself.
00:38:38.559 --> 00:38:43.199
Nothing but negativity after those moments came to my life into that marriage.
00:38:43.280 --> 00:38:48.000
I'm talking the worst times in my life, and it could be a coincidence, everybody.
00:38:48.159 --> 00:38:51.599
I know you're probably listening, you're probably gonna say to yourself, it was a coincidence.
00:38:51.679 --> 00:38:54.159
Uh, that's not, but I don't, there's something to be said.
00:38:54.320 --> 00:38:56.639
It was the worst time in my life.
00:38:56.880 --> 00:39:11.760
And then once I started coming around and realizing that you know what I had done was it was the wrong thing, you know, and I started uh believing in all I didn't believe my entire life in the Bible, in scripture, in any of that.
00:39:11.840 --> 00:39:12.559
I went to church.
00:39:13.280 --> 00:39:19.679
I but once I started to kind of put put things together, this is just my personal story.
00:39:19.840 --> 00:39:20.960
Things got better for me.
00:39:21.119 --> 00:39:23.360
Once I started praying, things got better to me.
00:39:23.519 --> 00:39:28.719
Once I got away from that type of the occult, and you guys can do whatever you want.
00:39:28.880 --> 00:39:32.719
That's the joy of life, is that you have a choice to make.
00:39:32.880 --> 00:39:36.480
Those are the choices I made, and I feel like they were the wrong choices.
00:39:36.639 --> 00:39:38.559
Uh, the great Art Bell, right?
00:39:38.719 --> 00:39:45.920
From Coast to Coast, uh People's Heroes, he had a story uh with a Ouija board that he would never tell.
00:39:46.159 --> 00:40:03.280
He said that there was a lady that brought a uh, you know, a listener had brought one to their doorstep, wherever they were, and whatever happened to him with that and what he witnessed with that Ouija board was so terrible that he never talked about it, no matter how much people wanted to.
00:40:03.599 --> 00:40:13.119
So to me, hey, I mean, I'm not gonna say our bell was uh, you know, I don't know what he was like in his personal life, but as a broadcaster, he was unbelievable.
00:40:13.440 --> 00:40:14.400
Oh, he was, yeah.
00:40:14.559 --> 00:40:22.880
And uh and anytime I have a late night run from the airport or whatever flight gets back in between Omaha and Lincoln, I always end up picking him up on the radio.
00:40:25.280 --> 00:40:33.119
Let's let's let's talk let's talk about two things before my segment runs out because I know these are in the news, and that is UFOs and Bigfoot.
00:40:33.679 --> 00:40:40.960
Okay, well, let's when I'm through pastoring, I'm gonna, I'm probably gonna embark upon a uh a Bigfoot quest career.
00:40:41.119 --> 00:40:42.159
Here's how I'm gonna do it.
00:40:42.320 --> 00:40:48.000
Now, you have a lot of these atheists who'll say, Hey, I'm gonna set out on this quest to disprove God, end up believing in God.
00:40:48.239 --> 00:40:50.559
But what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna do the same thing with Bigfoot.
00:40:50.639 --> 00:41:01.280
I'm gonna, you know, when I'm retired from pastoring, I'm gonna go to all these beautiful places in the world where Bigfoot has been spotted because I mean, let's face it, Bigfoot picks some mighty nice places to live.
00:41:01.519 --> 00:41:09.039
I mean, deep forests, canyons, I mean, just the most beautiful scenic areas of the world, Bigfoot lives there.
00:41:09.199 --> 00:41:13.440
And as crazy as this world is, I don't blame him for not being found.
00:41:14.320 --> 00:41:16.559
If I were him, I'd stay away too.
00:41:17.199 --> 00:41:21.679
I'm gonna I'm gonna set out to prove he doesn't exist, and I'm gonna be the guy who finds him.
00:41:21.840 --> 00:41:26.960
But talking about UFOs, Bigfoot, things like this, I think they're all connected.
00:41:27.199 --> 00:41:34.400
I mean, when you look at what UFOs are capable of doing, they totally defy the law of physics.
00:41:34.880 --> 00:41:38.079
They that they're outside of time and space.
00:41:38.320 --> 00:41:46.880
I I don't believe personally that there is life, there's complex life outside of planet Earth.
00:41:47.039 --> 00:41:48.800
That's because I believe in the anthropic principle.
00:41:48.880 --> 00:42:00.960
If you can imagine a control panel, there's 43 different knobs on there, and each of those knobs represents one of the factors that makes life possible on Earth.
00:42:01.440 --> 00:42:04.159
Gravity, you know, the atmospheric conditions.
00:42:04.239 --> 00:42:09.519
Uh, there's a great book called The Privileged Planet, written by Jay Wesley Richards.
00:42:09.599 --> 00:42:10.400
You should get it and read it.
00:42:10.480 --> 00:42:17.920
It talks about just how life is the earth is so fine-tuned for life that it's virtually impossible for it to exist anyplace else.
00:42:18.159 --> 00:42:20.800
But um, Jay Wesley Richards wrote that book.
00:42:21.519 --> 00:42:22.800
Brilliant, brilliant, strong.
00:42:23.519 --> 00:42:34.480
Um, if you were to take any of those 43 knobs and move them ever so slightly to the right or to the left, life on earth becomes impossible, can't happen.
00:42:34.800 --> 00:42:40.480
So, for that reason, I don't think that complex life is possible outside of planet Earth.
00:42:40.639 --> 00:42:42.880
So, where does that leave aliens?
00:42:43.039 --> 00:42:46.159
Well, let's go back to the supernatural view of the Bible.
00:42:46.800 --> 00:42:58.079
Um, there are various things that in the Bible that that that are that are you know comparable to to UFO encounters.
00:42:58.320 --> 00:43:00.960
Um once again, they're all angelic.
00:43:01.199 --> 00:43:05.920
Ezekiel saw the wheel, he saw something up in the atmosphere that was angelic.
00:43:06.000 --> 00:43:07.039
It was good angelic.
00:43:07.199 --> 00:43:08.880
It wasn't demonic, it was good.
00:43:09.119 --> 00:43:14.159
Uh Jesus said, Behold, I saw Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
00:43:14.480 --> 00:43:24.639
Um, these things are are are traveling at high speeds, they're making turns that would be impossible for a physical craft to do.
00:43:24.800 --> 00:43:31.519
So I just think we have to understand these are these are uh uh a demonic manifestation.
00:43:31.679 --> 00:43:34.159
Uh the same you know, with alien abductions.
00:43:34.239 --> 00:43:45.760
I watched a video last night, uh, I can't remember the guy's name, but he talked about how that, you know, during an alien abduction, people have talked about crying out in the name of Jesus and it stopped.
00:43:46.000 --> 00:43:49.199
And so the person was in an altered state of mind.
00:43:49.519 --> 00:43:51.840
Uh, they felt they were being abducted.
00:43:52.000 --> 00:43:53.679
Um, and then they called on the name of them.
00:43:53.760 --> 00:43:59.679
So you may tell me that that the aliens are gonna fly billions and billions of light years, uh, and then all of a sudden.
00:44:00.239 --> 00:44:04.880
Flee at the name of some of a bee that they've never heard of before.
00:44:05.199 --> 00:44:07.599
So I personally think that they're they're demons.
00:44:07.760 --> 00:44:14.000
I mean, as far as Bigfoot is concerned, I think it's uh I think there's an outside chance he's encrypted.
00:44:14.320 --> 00:44:17.280
I mean, certainly there are plenty of plenty of sightings.
00:44:17.440 --> 00:44:22.000
Uh one thing science cannot do is state a universal negative.
00:44:22.320 --> 00:44:31.199
And that is, it is beyond the realm of science to say there is no Loch Miss Monster because you're going to imply infinite complete knowledge.
00:44:31.280 --> 00:44:36.880
That means you would have to be able to look everywhere in the universe all at once and say it doesn't exist.
00:44:37.119 --> 00:44:38.159
Science can't do that.
00:44:38.639 --> 00:44:41.039
It cannot state what's called a universal negative.
00:44:41.280 --> 00:44:46.800
So as far as Bigfoot is concerned, um, I mean, there's an outside chance that it can be a cryptid.
00:44:47.039 --> 00:44:48.800
Encryptids are discovered all the time.
00:44:49.039 --> 00:44:51.280
Animals that we once thought were extinct.
00:44:51.440 --> 00:45:01.440
I I tend to believe Bigfoot is uh is something along the Nephilim scale, um, something that is spiritual.
00:45:01.599 --> 00:45:06.000
Certainly among the Native Americans, they viewed Sasquatch as being that.
00:45:06.159 --> 00:45:09.679
Um, and so people tell me they, you know, they've seen Bigfoot.
00:45:09.840 --> 00:45:13.360
I guess the thing that troubles me is why can't we ever get a good picture of it?
00:45:13.599 --> 00:45:13.760
Right.
00:45:13.920 --> 00:45:22.960
I mean, goodness gracious, we are everybody's got camera phones, and everybody's got, you know, the no sense in even buying a camera anymore.
00:45:23.039 --> 00:45:27.679
Our phones do do what our cameras, you know, the best cameras can do.
00:45:27.920 --> 00:45:30.239
Why can't anybody get a good picture of it?
00:45:30.320 --> 00:45:33.840
That tells me that there's something spiritual that's going on.
00:45:34.159 --> 00:45:38.880
And um, you know, I doubt why are why can't we find any bodies?
00:45:39.119 --> 00:45:42.800
You know, certainly you'd be able to find uh skeletal remains.
00:45:42.960 --> 00:45:53.360
And I realize that the places that Bigfoot inhabits are very, very remote, you know, but it's happened to too many people in order just to simply dismiss it.
00:45:53.519 --> 00:46:04.400
But once again, I think if you have a supernatural view of the scriptures, uh rather a supernatural world view that is backed up by the holy scriptures, you can say, hey, he can exist.
00:46:04.480 --> 00:46:09.760
He he may not he may not be a large hominid, he might be something else entirely.
00:46:10.079 --> 00:46:21.440
Um but I certainly have watched every Bigfoot show there is, and I enjoy watching them, and uh they never find him, but I always enjoy watching those shows.
00:46:22.320 --> 00:46:28.159
Well, I I think that Bigfoot is uh you know, you know, it's gonna break our it's gonna break my mom's heart.
00:46:28.320 --> 00:46:30.880
My mom loves Bigfoot shows.
00:46:30.960 --> 00:46:39.280
Uh if a person thinks that Bigfoot doesn't exist, I think Bigfoot is and aliens, I think these are all dimensional beings.
00:46:39.440 --> 00:46:40.480
This is just my opinion.
00:46:40.800 --> 00:46:44.079
I think that they move from I think that there's a realm that we don't understand.
00:46:44.320 --> 00:46:55.039
I know you don't have a lot of time left, but I'll just address my theory on ghosts and all of these things is that time has no construct when you're when time is over with.
00:46:55.199 --> 00:47:02.480
So therefore the past, present, and future are all coming together at one time because there is no time on the other side.
00:47:02.639 --> 00:47:06.400
So I think that it's it's a dimensional thing, a realm thing.
00:47:06.559 --> 00:47:15.920
And I think that uh like skinwalkers and all these things are just they're they're whatever they are, they're appearing to us and disappearing and future at all times.
00:47:16.719 --> 00:47:17.920
Skinwalkers.
00:47:18.159 --> 00:47:27.840
Um I can't think of all the other ones because I've I've watched all the documentaries on them, and they're all obviously something that is not of the created realm.
00:47:28.000 --> 00:47:29.599
There's something that's spiritual.
00:47:29.760 --> 00:47:31.199
Uh these trail cans.
00:47:31.360 --> 00:47:35.760
Um, I think a show that I watch on the internet is Maximum Fear.
00:47:36.079 --> 00:47:39.679
Uh he's a guy named Max, and he wants to maximize your fear.
00:47:39.840 --> 00:47:59.840
So I I watch all his updates, and I there again, with with so much, with nearly every video of his, it's it's either it's either uh AI generated or it's so blurry, you can make out something that is obviously outside the norm.
00:48:00.639 --> 00:48:05.599
But why is it that when it comes to photographing these things, you can't ever seem to get a good photograph?
00:48:05.840 --> 00:48:24.800
You know, and I I think that lends itself to the fact that it's it's a spiritual entity, and uh, you know, it's kind of hard to it's kind of hard to capture that with with human technology, but um it's very real, and people maybe some of your listeners out there are deeply troubled by some things I've said.
00:48:24.960 --> 00:48:26.480
Um I'm I'm not your enemy.
00:48:26.559 --> 00:48:31.599
I'm I'm not gonna I'm not going to discredit anything that you've seen.
00:48:31.920 --> 00:48:39.199
I would just challenge you to think um to think to you know to to to conform to the facts of reality.
00:48:39.360 --> 00:48:39.679
Okay.
00:48:40.159 --> 00:48:43.440
Uh we we know what the Bible teaches about supernaturalism.
00:48:43.599 --> 00:48:48.159
We know there's angels, we know there's demons, we know there's an eternal God.
00:48:48.400 --> 00:48:56.239
Uh we know he sent his son Jesus to the world to rescue us from this dark, broken, fallen world.
00:48:56.639 --> 00:49:00.000
And um, you know, in him is eternal salvation.
00:49:00.159 --> 00:49:02.320
When we die, we go to one or two places.
00:49:02.480 --> 00:49:03.599
We go to heaven, we go to hell.
00:49:03.679 --> 00:49:05.199
There's no middle ground.
00:49:05.440 --> 00:49:08.639
Um and the good thing is, is everybody go to heaven.
00:49:08.880 --> 00:49:14.719
Hell's not a big party place where there's a keg and music playing, and you know, a little hot hotter than usual.
00:49:14.800 --> 00:49:19.519
I mean, the Bible describes hell as being a very scary place, and you don't want to go there.
00:49:19.679 --> 00:49:23.440
And the good thing is that Jesus died so that no one would have to go there.
00:49:23.679 --> 00:49:31.039
And um, you know, I would I would encourage you to consider Jesus Christ wherever wherever you're at on your spectrum.
00:49:31.199 --> 00:49:37.119
Um, there's no demon, there's no power of hell, there's nothing that can harm you if you are safe in Christ.
00:49:37.280 --> 00:49:43.119
And I would just uh I would I would encourage you if you have questions about it, you know, drop by the church here.
00:49:43.280 --> 00:49:45.280
We're at first superior street.
00:49:45.440 --> 00:49:50.719
Um I often tell people in our church, if you have these kinds of experiences, just think of me.
00:49:50.800 --> 00:49:53.199
I'm like the Ghostbusters, I'm ready to believe you.
00:49:53.519 --> 00:49:56.320
I won't make fun of you, I won't laugh at you.
00:49:56.559 --> 00:50:11.920
Um I've experienced these things, and uh, but uh, but I frame them though with within the worldview of scripture, uh, because I know that uh demons are real and the devil is real, and I know who wins in the end, and it's and it's not the devil.
00:50:12.000 --> 00:50:14.800
And so I want to make sure I'm on I'm on Jesus' side.
00:50:15.039 --> 00:50:18.639
But um did you have any other questions or anything like that?
00:50:18.880 --> 00:50:22.559
No, I I think we covered, I mean, I know we only scratched the surface, Steve.
00:50:22.719 --> 00:50:32.320
Uh I just want to thank you and for the listener, once again, this is Steve Davenport, Pastor Steve, as we all know him from uh Calvary Community Church.
00:50:32.480 --> 00:50:35.599
And uh it's just it's an honor to have you on the show, my friend.
00:50:35.679 --> 00:50:56.559
I hope to have you on again so we can talk about the biblical side of the supernatural and just give people a different perspective that I don't think that, or as of right now, people are even willing to to take on, to listen to, which is very strange because this book has been this book has been rocking for a long time.
00:50:56.719 --> 00:50:59.039
So thank you so much for being on the show, my friend.
00:50:59.199 --> 00:51:03.039
I know that you ran out of time, and uh, we will talk to you again soon.
00:51:03.280 --> 00:51:04.960
Thank you, Arcane, and your audience.
00:51:05.039 --> 00:51:06.079
God bless you guys.
00:51:06.320 --> 00:51:08.960
All right, that was Steve Davenport once again.
00:51:09.199 --> 00:51:12.000
And I just I love these conversations.
00:51:12.159 --> 00:51:20.800
Uh, I I don't really I know that some of you out there are going to get probably worked up over it, but you gotta ask yourself, why are you worked up over it?
00:51:20.960 --> 00:51:25.920
What what what's wrong with the uh what's wrong with the biblical perspective of the supernatural?
00:51:26.079 --> 00:51:29.519
Once again, it is a very supernatural book.
00:51:29.679 --> 00:51:42.239
You can look at the Apocrypha, you can look at the Holy Bible, you can look at the Quran, you can look at anything, uh, and you can see all of this has always been there and always will be.
00:51:42.400 --> 00:51:44.159
Uh, it's just another way of looking at it.
00:51:44.239 --> 00:51:46.239
So I hope you guys enjoyed this one.
00:51:46.400 --> 00:51:50.639
This one really did uh dig into the feels of some of you.
00:51:50.719 --> 00:51:57.920
It might even make you uncomfortable, it might make you terrified, it might make you rejoice, it might make you happy.
00:51:58.079 --> 00:52:10.159
And I just hope that uh you guys were were entertained and it sparked a little bit of thought and uh provoked uh and evoked for that matter, uh uh just just a different way of thinking.
00:52:10.320 --> 00:52:12.000
So thank you guys for listening.
00:52:12.159 --> 00:52:27.280
I hope you guys enjoy being on the spooky side of town with me and join me every week as we dive into the the macabre, the strange, the unusual, and we make it a regular conversation, and we'll talk to you again soon.
00:52:27.440 --> 00:52:30.079
We'll see you guys, catch you on the flip side.
00:52:30.239 --> 00:52:32.559
We'll do it here at KZUM.
00:52:32.719 --> 00:52:34.079
Thank you guys for listening.
00:52:34.159 --> 00:52:42.079
Uh, if you guys want to get a hold of me, if you want to email me, email me at uh Kane Stevens Paranormal at gmail.com.
00:52:42.320 --> 00:52:45.119
Give me your questions, uh, give me your stories.
00:52:45.280 --> 00:52:46.960
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
00:52:47.039 --> 00:52:50.719
So thank you guys for listening, and we will catch you again soon.
00:52:50.880 --> 00:52:52.719
We'll see you on the other side.
