Ep. 30: Keeping God First When Life Feels Uncertain

In this episode, Kenny Barnwell and Shannon Thompson have an honest conversation about faith, discernment, uncertainty, and trusting God when the next step is not fully clear.

Kenny shares how easy it can be to wake up and immediately give attention to work, messages, responsibilities, and the demands of the world before giving attention to God.

Then, the conversation turns toward a deeper question Kenny has been wrestling with in this season:

How do you know you are stepping in the right direction?

Kenny opens up about being in a season of transition, trying to discern the right path in business, work, calling, and purpose. He talks about wanting clarity from God, not because he is unwilling to struggle, but because he wants to know he is fighting the right giant and moving in the direction God wants him to go.

Shannon shares wisdom about surrender, certainty, faith, and the difference between trying to control our lives and trusting God to guide us.

The conversation also touches on the story of Peter walking on water, the woman who reached for Jesus’ garment, the centurion who believed Jesus could heal with just a word, David facing Goliath, Paul’s certainty in his calling, and the encouragement that even mustard seed faith can move mountains.

Questions like:

• How do we keep God first when life gets busy?
• What does it mean to ask God for discernment?
• How do we trust God when the next step is unclear?
• Can we be faithful even when we do not know the vehicle God will use?
• What is the difference between control and surrender?
• How do we strengthen belief while walking by faith?

And more...

We do not pretend to have all the answers. This is a real conversation between two Christians trying to follow Jesus, seek direction, and keep faith strong in seasons of uncertainty.

This episode is a reminder that God does not always show us the whole road.

Sometimes He gives us the next step.

Sometimes He carries us.

Sometimes He asks us to keep walking.

And sometimes the faith we need is not a mountain of faith.

It is a mustard seed.
