Why the Diamondbacks EXTENDED Torey Lovullo—Is Mike Hazen READY for the Hot Seat?

Arizona Diamondbacks double down on consistency by extending manager Torey Lovullo through 2028. After missing the playoffs for a third straight year, can stability in the dugout and front office finally push Arizona over the edge? George Lund spotlights the high-pressure expectations facing Torey Lovullo and GM Mike Hazen as both are now contractually linked, scrutinizing recent roster construction decisions and the fallout from key moves.

Key discussion points include the repercussions of the Lars Nootbaar trade, struggles at first base and DH, and clubhouse dynamics centered on Ketel Marte’s ongoing saga. George Lund questions whether betting on resiliency and culture is enough, or if the Diamondbacks are playing it too safe in a competitive NL West. Will this leadership duo deliver another postseason run—or has the time for bold change already arrived?
