A Solid 4 Beer Thoughts: A solid for beer thoughts. Pop a cold one and get interactive with us on YouTube, Facebook, X or Instagram. Well here we are, whether you like it or not. I'm not sure if I like it or not. Uh-huh. For those of you that joined us on the Facebook Live prior to the show, saw me eat some hot dogs. We'll talk a little bit about that. Took us a while to start ⁓ getting this episode underway because So I also had to get those things out of me. It's a solid four beer thoughts. You can send us emails for solidbeers at gmail.com. Also ⁓ on the socials, like, subscribe, follow, all those good things. And ⁓ share it with your friends. So whenever you see a video or a clip or something you enjoy, say share. Everybody'll love you for it. What about sunny? And share. ⁓ okay. You can sunny them. If you want to sunny them up, you can. That's fine. Is that the most popular ⁓ share? Karaoke duet? Song very I got you, babe, or is it leather and lace? Probably a toss up. Ebony and Ivory. Ebony and Ivory has to be if you have a black friend or a white friend. Yeah. Yeah. You can't have a white dude sing the ebony part and a black dude sing the karaoke, have you? You could. I think that goes against ⁓ how they wrote the song. It it is how ⁓ different than how they wrote the song. Right. True dad. You're not wrong. But anyway. ⁓ I got it. Right, Jeff, Jeff, what'd you do? ⁓ Jeff would be weekend. Lake was on a roof, had a good day at golf. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was great. Went down the lake, I'd take care of a little ⁓ insurance issue on the boat, so we went down Thursday night and they were still with the boat. Yeah, I know. I'd take some pictures of back to the idea that the guy said don't fuck with it until like the end of the year and let me fix it over. Yeah, but it sounds like insurance is gonna cover almost all of it. So that's that's a good thing. So yeah, they were calling the forecast ⁓ was calling for complete rain out on Friday. Complete rain out on Sat Saturday was even worse than Friday. Friday at about noon, the rain stopped, went out, enjoyed five, six hours out on the lake. It was gorgeous. Come in Friday night, I told Shay, turn it wife, I said, We may get packed up and leave out of here early tomorrow 'cause they're calling for ninety eight percent chance of rain for most of the day. Absolutely gorgeous day. So moral of the story is never trust a weather forecast. How do you miss it by that much? It was there were scattered shit all around us 'cause I was watching it on radar and we were out there. I mean it was just stuff would pop up, then it would go just typical summer humidity, summer heat, summer storms. They we were fortunate it never never hit us. So yeah, it was good weekend. Linko? old old man talk here. Warning. Warning. Old man talk here. ⁓ I trimmed the trees and bushes out front that were taking over our front patio and ⁓ and then pulled weeds all the way down the side of that. There go. So that's productive. Northern or sorry, Southern Irish twin and me were out there in the heat. Uh-huh. And ⁓ it it I I like that it's done. It was not fun at the time because we have rocks. So we have rocks in our ⁓ Like mulch beds, it's not mulch, it's it's rocks. Like river rock. Yeah, wrestlers put that so you know, if there's any grass or weeds grow so you have to you have to move the rocks out of the way so so it's easier. Yeah. Move the rocks out of the way, grab it, and then move the rops rocks back with your hand as you're either bending over or just sitting on the ground. Didn't we put that the fabrics down? ⁓ yeah, the fabric's down. But it'll grow on top of that. It'll grow through it. Yeah. I can't get fucking grass to grow in the middle of my backyard. But yet grows right out of the right through the rocks. How determined are those weeds? Like yeah, right near these rocks. Yeah. Yep. So anyway, that's that was Saturday. I was just happy to be done. Current wife was was working out of town. No. She was in town technically, but she's working. We did go down and have ⁓ drinks with her dinner and drinks on I think Thursday night. Awesome. So she had a little bit of extra time. So ⁓ Where'd you guys go? Northern Irish Twin and Blackie and myself went down and had dinner and then we went to ⁓ went to District Tap. Okay. ⁓ for dinner. How is that place? Downtown downtown or up north. So downtown. So yeah. And then we went to Good Bird. Shoot that Good Burger. A a bar and a hotel. It's it's Blake's favorite because they know how to make a tango? They how to make an old old fashioned clothes. It's not hotel tango, no. There's a ⁓ I I'll probably cool though. I'll think of it. So anyway. Okay, well good. But it was good time. Brett. Awesome. I didn't do a whole lot. Did some work Lazy River stuff. ⁓ might drink a few beers. That's about it. ⁓ Tommy, I'm not sure if you can talk, so I'll speak for you. Yeah, we ⁓ we went out ⁓ Saturday. Did ⁓ at the ⁓ at the watering hole. That's where we were. Jeet Hot Duncan. Went to the watering hole Saturday. Friday, ⁓ went to family dinner, typical stuff, and that's about it. I mean ⁓ nothing nothing earth shattering. Sunday, and this was ⁓ so I was kind of on the fence with this. We had some friends that had a party on Sunday. Sunday afternoon. At what what time? ⁓ one o'clock on Sunday Sunday. Yeah, like a yeah, well, it turned into one to eight, but yeah. That's sort of they got a pool and they invited some folks over. so we went to that and that was a good time. Do they non Monday through Friday, eight to five like traditional? I I well I w I don't think they do. he sells windows. She works in the ⁓ timeshare business. So my guess is they probably work a lot of Saturdays. Mm-hmm. So Sundays probably Their Saturday. I didn't ask ⁓ but Sunday's their Saturday. Hey, why you clowns having a party on Sunday? No, we didn't do that, but but yeah, so there was a good number of people there. A few people we knew, a few people we didn't, but some new people and had a great time. It was pretty awesome. They got a nice little setup and we of course we put liquor in our gullet and that makes everything better all the time. So yeah, it was good. It was fun. Yep. Now it's time for everybody. ⁓ that's fine. So a little something a little different, boys. ⁓ we've been talking a bunch of World Cup. Uh-huh. So I've got ⁓ World Cup history. ⁓ just some just some I looked up ⁓ interesting stories and ⁓ shit like that. Dude, you've been talking World Cup the last two or three weeks. I've been I've been into it. I I will not lie, I've been into it. So there you go. ⁓ so anyway, it kinda kinda random stories. I've got just a a bunch of shit just on here. ⁓ let me see here. That's a lot of scrolling. Are you sure? Are you sure you got it? A lot of scrolling going there. So ⁓ gotta get past the porn. So back in so there's twenty including this year, twenty three total tournaments. Okay. There's only eight countries who have ever won. eight total countries because some have won more than more than other right ⁓ Venezuela's won what last three is that correct Argentina Argentina last year my bad my bad Argentina but ⁓ Brazil's won the most they they won five. But ⁓ anyway so back in ⁓ nineteen sixty two quarterfinals between England and Brazil, a stray dog ran onto the pitch Evading several players and actually urinated on England's ⁓ legend Jimmy Greave. ⁓ yes. A ⁓ the Brazilian winger Garantia found the incident so hilarious that he ended up he peed on himself adopting the dog and took it back home to Brazil as a pet. No kidding. That might be the best story I heard. That's awesome in a long time. That's awesome. That's better than the dude cutting off his dick and putting it down a girl. It's a lot better than that. Yeah. ⁓ nineteen sixty-six World Cup in England. ⁓ months before that, several months before that, the actual trophy was stolen from an exhibition hall. ⁓ The police hunt came up with nothing. The hero turned out to be a black and white collie named Pickles. Huh. Pickles. So pickles. Pickles found the trophy. Wrapped in newspaper under a neighbor's hedge while out for a walk. He was awarded a lifetime supply of dog food and invited to the teams championship celebration. There you go, pickles. Good job, Pickles. Yes. I said, wrapped in a newspaper. That's cool. There's got to be some weight to it, right? Yeah. It's cause small one. It's not very big though. ⁓ Yeah. Thank you. Anyway is this solid goal, do you think? at the nineteen ninety-four opening ceremony in Chicago, ⁓ USA, pop superstar Diana Ross was supposed to kick a soccer ball into an open net as a ceremonial thing, ⁓ from six yards out. So the penalty kicks are taken for twelve yards. That's two. So half the line. So you pretty much can't miss from there. Even Helen Keller couldn't miss from there, Tom. So anyway, supposed to get a soccer ball into an open net from six yards away as a pre planned stunt that would then make the goal burst apart. She missed the entire goal wide left. Did it b burst apart anyhow? ⁓ the the automated goals still burst apart anyway, leaving a stadium of ⁓ confused American fans watching a broken net and a missed kick. Nice work. So you're right. The World Cup trophy, fourteen and a half inches tall. Yeah, it's not very big. Eighteen carat gold. I thought it was solid gold. Yeah. Not plated, right? No, no. So that that's gotta weigh seventy five seventy five percent gold. ⁓ Somebody couldn't fund the other twenty five. No FIFA's fund all that money into their pocket. FIFA. FIFA. Say how much it weighs? It's ⁓ forty two pounds. I'm going to I was gonna say it doesn't look like it weighs that much. Because they picked that thing up with one hand. ⁓ a Stanley Cup only weighs like forty eight or something. Six point one seven five kilograms. ⁓ yeah, that makes a lot of sense. That's two point two pounds per kilogram, like. That's the only metric conversion. How did not know that? I did know that. I was being a dick. I had no idea. Everybody knows that. Yeah. ⁓ I had no idea. ⁓ you didn't? No. ⁓ No. How did you not know that? ⁓ my gosh. Sorry. What's next link? ⁓ so like I said, t twenty-three total tournaments, including this year. Yeah. ⁓ it was not held it so it's held every four years. Was not nineteen forty two or forty six due to the ⁓ WWI. but but but nineteen thirty was the first one. The tournament lasted just seventeen days and featured only thirteen teams. Last time we placed in the top four. All matches were played in a single host city, Mont Montevideo. ⁓ Uruguay, right? Was the was the host city. Lucky and missed the whole COVID thing, didn't it? Seriously. Yeah. Yeah. Twenty eighteen and twenty twenty two. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. So it got on either side of it. They didn't have to deal with that. Early why was that host city originally 'cause they had won the like world championship the year before or something like that. ⁓ twenty so ⁓ thirteen teams originally in nineteen thirty. ⁓ this year there were forty eight teams. And they're going to sixty four, I heard stretching across sixteen different hosts. And and pretty much no Euros came over because it was a Great Depression. ⁓ Yeah. Got it. So it's all ⁓ North, Central, So South America for the most part. That's why the US placed in the top four. So I heard they're are they expanding to sixty four? In the in the next World Cup, I heard they're expanding the the tournament. I don't know. Have you not heard that? I don't know. I we can talk about that after Link's done, I guess. I I think the expansion is good because there's some countries that got in, that came over to the US, had a hell of a good time. Yep. Cape Verde and That was cool to see. Yep. And some of ⁓ even even advanced out pool play. But come on, where where's the line? That's like the N CAA basketball tournament going to ninety sixteen. More money. Sorry, Link. No, you're good. We sidebarked. No. Thirteen teams originally in nineteen thirty, forty-eight this year, you're yeah, Uruguay, ⁓ blah blah blah blah one so originally it was ⁓ by male invitation only to get into the tournament. So women can invite people. Correct. Got it. Yes. That is a link. You had to be invited by by a man. ⁓ okay. Yes. Got it. I'm assuming it was all male running ⁓ FIFA at the time. Yeah. Right. A if you got an invitation from a female at that point, it'd say you you'd respond to her and go, bitch, please. Wow. Wow. ⁓ there was an eleven second goal. The fastest goal in men's World Cup history was scored in just eleven seconds by ⁓ Turkey's Hakan Shukur ⁓ during the two thousand ought two third place playoff game against South Korea. The record still stands. There was a dude that played at 45 years old in the 2018 tournament. A dude from ⁓ Egypt. That's kind of crazy. ⁓ the yep. So the original World Cup trophy, the Jules Rome trophy, was permanently awarded to Brazil in nineteen seventy after they won their third title. However, it was stolen in nineteen eighty three, melted down, and the original has never been recovered. Yeah, pickles, we need you. Yeah, pickles. Fail. Giant fail. so as far as goals go, I think we we have talked before ⁓ Lionel or Lionel, depending on where you're at in the world, right? Lionel or Lionel. I don't think he's black, Tom. He's not black. He's foreign. But not the story Jeff told he's but he's say you name after Lionel Richie. True that. Yeah, true that. So he has the most all time World Cup goals at twenty one. Killian Mbappe is ⁓ one behind him at twenty, but Lionel Lionel is still playing, so it hasn't chance to in the ⁓ they play for third and fourth, don't they? Yes. ⁓ true. Yeah, there you go. You're you're correct. That was so Miroslav Klose or Klose, he's German. I assume it's Klaus. Klaus. Doesn't look like Klaus. No, he's well. Nine K L O S E. Yeah, that's that's how you spell close. Santa Claus. Close. So he had ⁓ sixteen World Cup goals before Mbappe and Messi broke his record. No. But ⁓ he held that he held that for like twelve year twelve I think it said twelve years. ⁓ wow. But he scored all of his in the same tournament. Sixteen goals in one sixteen in the same wow. That's out of control. ⁓ but but ⁓ hang on hang on hang on nope it was used Fontaine he scored thirteen all thirteen were in a single tournament in nineteen fifty eight in just six games. ⁓ my goodness. He's come That's ridiculous. So here's the thing. So close ⁓ he actually played twenty four games. He had sixteen goals in twenty four games, which is point six seven goals. ⁓ Messi is at point six eight goals. Per game. Mbappe though? ⁓ yeah, Mbappé is point nine five goals per game. ⁓ Gerd Mueller from Germany. Gerd. He was one point ⁓ eight goals. And that used Fontaine, thirteen goals in six games, two point one seven goals per game. Two goals on average per game. And the best in the world as of right now, Messi, is ⁓ he was point six eight. So he's played a shitload of games. And and a lot of his are PKs. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. So anyway. Wow. Interesting. Think about these stats. It's the same as college football when when we've gone through that covet stretch where everybody has a sixth and a seventh year, and all your stats count. Going to forty eight teams and ninety six teams and whatever the number is. It does. Yeah, yeah. Well, in the NFL, I they went And you we used to be at fourteen for a long time and then we went to sixteen. And yeah. So a thousand yard rusher back in the day was a giant big deal, and then all of a sudden everybody can do it. Well, they were talking about that. NFL Network, the ⁓ premier running backs back in the day that were getting a thousand yards in a season, but they only played Twelve games. Yeah, yeah. You know, that's of course they ran the ball eighty-eight times also and passed at twelve. But yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So weird news of the week. A Jeffy coming through two weeks in a row. I know. ⁓ A Houston woman said she has done practicing pole dancing at her home after a mishap led to two apartments being flooded. Asha Gilbert was filming her pole dancing practice. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Hey, how how do we turn this off? Wow. Asha Gilbert was filming her pole dancing practice July sixth at her West Houston apartment when the pole came loose from the ceiling and struck the fire sprinkler. ⁓ I hate when that happens. Watch the video. It is hilarious. Okay. The video shows water spraying out of the sprinkler as she runs out of the apartment. Floods Two apartments practicing pole dancing. ⁓ my gosh. In her own apartment. How about that? Live below her. Right. Practice makes perfect. And you're s and you're sitting there watching whatever on TV. Fuck's all that water coming through here for. It's my girl up there pole practicing her pole dancing. Wow. Yeah. Yes. Not as good as four. No, I but it ain't a flaming penis, but by golly. It's gonna be tough to top that one. It's gonna be. Yeah. I brought that up at work this week. Perfect. Where what are you talking about at work where it just randomly comes up? Hey Jeremy. ⁓ no, ⁓ didn't randomly. It's a teams meeting company. It was. ⁓ like, hey, anybody hear this? See this story? 'Cause this sounds like Florida man's story. Yes. It's not, it's Indiana man. It's Fort Fort Wayne Man. Yeah, I'm like, man, this this dude's a couple hours from me. Yeah. And a couple of people like, I did hear that. Like, what? Yeah. That's hilarious. There you go. So Tommy, what'd we do tonight? So tonight we ⁓ began practicing for the ⁓ hot dog eating contest that I'm gonna be in a week from Saturday, apparently. My though I feel like my pace was good, I don't think the the volume didn't match the effort, I don't think. I I kinda agree with that. Yeah. The effort I I I felt you started strong, it was great. Yep. But ⁓ I got gassed fast. It was Well, I think the crowd kinda let you down 'cause there's not a crowd cheering you on and Like I'm assuming there was up there in Frankfurt. No, it was weird. Yeah, it was it was weird. There were people out there watching, but it wasn't. Yeah, nobody was cheering. It's not like there was no cheer. They were just sitting there watching like we were. I mean it was quiet, there was no. No, you guys were watching and quipping. They no. No, there were well the band there was a band playing on the stage behind. So no it wasn't porn playing, yeah. It was a pain. You're getting your pole dance your pole dance story. I couple couple takeaway takeaways. Is I and keep in mind this was a couple years ago. Yep. I feel like whatever hot dogs they used were smaller than what we used tonight. Mm-hmm. And the buns were not as hardy as the buns you had tonight. I can see that, yeah. So maybe that'll that'll make a difference. what'd I do? Seven, nine Nine dogs and seven and a half buns. Nine dogs, seven buns. Yeah, so in ten minutes. So two girls, one cup. So we gotta I think that's why I threw up because you said that. ⁓ but we haven't gotten to that point. But but I I yeah. You did you did fine. I mean in ten minutes. That's that's a hot dog a minute all. I So you took the challenge, you took the practice. I think there's room for improvement. And you did well. I feel like there's room for improvement. ⁓ I never felt I never felt so relieved to vomit in my whole life than just a little bit ago before we started. He did just yak. Yeah. He did just yak in the bathroom. I don't think there's a time though where I'm like, I'm gonna regret that. Yeah, Yeah, but I I don't usually I'm I'm getting ready to go walk around the block. No, like when you're sick and you vomit, you just don't On the other side of that, you're just like, ⁓ great. Now I'm more dehydrated. Don't have the energy. Yeah. Or that explosive diarrhea that's going around. Have you guys heard about that? From the salad or something. Washer cilantro and green onions. What do you mean? Poop. You've not heard about it? Poop virus. No, they it's coming from they think lettuce and taco, but they're trying to tie it fruits, I think, to taco berries. Berries. There's something going around, like 200 people in the State of Indiana habit. And they said they said it's explosive diarrhea. And I'm like, well, what other kind of diarrhea is there? There's there's only explosive diet. But it's diarrhea. L long term. It's not like a couple days. Yeah. I'm gonna try to pronounce this for us. Okay. Yeah, good luck. Cyclospora chiotinesis. ⁓ yeah, good job. Yeah, that's it. Cause a severe gastrointestin intestinal illness called cyclopariasis. It's a foodborne parasite typically causes sudden, watery, and explosive diarrhea that can last for weeks or even months. ⁓ shit. Months. Good. Good. It's a great weight loss where it's more from. That's exactly what I was thinking, Brett. Primary primary cause of it is not washing your hands after you know, taking a poop. So there you go. That's the primary cause. Sometimes you're in a hurry. Hang on. So it has nothing to do with it. Food? Yes, it does. They think that workers are sanitary picking food. How do you know? Wait a minute. No, Hold on. So it it typically primarily affects things like onions, lettuce. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ there's no chance. Bretch just on the the Twinkie that's been there for five years. Onions, lettuce, and five years. Yeah, I'll go again. ⁓ but the ⁓ the thing I read was that for onions, you're supposed to peel off like the outer two layers. And I was thinking, well, usually when I have anyhow. ⁓ lettuce, they're recommending don't buy bagged lettuce. ⁓ use use regular head lettuce and take the f top layers off of it. Don't you do at all? So some of it I was like Common sense. Who's just grabbing an onion and eating the skin? Gross. Gross. True. Yeah. I mean, that's so I'm like, it seems like it would be kinda complicated to really get this. But they also said it affects things like basil and herbs and stuff. So it has to be in the harvesting process or something about it. I don't know. So I that's I don't I don't get it. I've been buying the ⁓ Wash your shit, man. That's it. Just wash your wash your fruits and vegetables really well and you'll be fine. The salad in the the container, plastic clear container. That's that's what the big one, that you know what, yeah, two pounds or whatever it is. Yep. That's what we've been getting recently. Well wash it really well because they're advising. It says washed and ready to eat. I know, but they're advising against package. Like you wash an apple before you eat it? ⁓ yeah. I I'll run it under most of the time I'll run it under one. We have actually fruit and veggie almost never wash. It comes in a spray bottle and do that. Now if we if we ⁓ do a whole bunch of like what are they called the not the big russet potatoes, but the the little golden what do they call ⁓ golden whatever. Yellow potato. Golden. We throw ⁓ in the sink, you can run some water in there and dump some of the veggie wash in it. And I'm so lost. But they dig ⁓ out of dirt. I'll run yeah, I'll run ⁓ under the water, you know, rinse the dirt. ⁓ they actually make the fruit and veggie wash that that yeah. We we use it all the time. ⁓ we don't use them for Almost everything. But but if you think about it, if you buy an apple at the grocery store. Is that is that loose apples? Spray ⁓ Loose apples. They wax ⁓ Yeah. Yeah. They're waxing. They're waxing all first of all. That's how many people have touched that apple before it got to the display? I still eat it. I I understand. I'm just telling you. You got a good immune system. There's a lot of there's a lot of people that touch all that stuff. A little snotty nosed kid that comes up, Mom, can I have this app? No, put the apple back. That's that's why I wash things like apples, pears, plums, like exposed exposed fruits. The only fruit the only fruit I I touch, like if I touch one I I'm I'm like I'm buying it. George Michael. Wow. You I like a lot of George Michael. Rest in peace. ⁓ no, I've ⁓ I have fingered a kumquat before, but that's about it. Interesting. Yeah. Did you lick your fingers after? ⁓ yeah. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Was that before or after you pull danced? I'm I'm not very I'm not very athletic anymore, dude. I think I I could not pull off a ball. How do you think you got the lazy rib over there at speedway? Yeah, he never did tell the story. So legit question. She was the tenant. You buy an apple at the Myers, you take it home, ⁓ and the next day you just pick it out of the bowl or the bag and just start munching on it? Most of the time. What the frick is your problem? Yes. I will rub it I'll peel the label off of it, the little sticker off of it. And I'll rub it on my shirt and eat it. Holy crap. I've done I've done it too. I'm not a savage. I did have to peel the sticker off as well. Yeah. Those are edible, by the way. They have to be edible. They have to be edible. They have to be edible. They're not tasty, but you can eat them. They won't hurt you. What's the glue? The glue that they use to put that sticker on in the sticker are edible. Would you rather be in an apple eating contest or a hot dog eating contest? Honestly, I'd rather eat apples. Like a horse. All right, Tom. Pussy mint eating contest or apple eating contest. Pussy mints. These things are fantastic. The mints. Yes. Well, okay, let me just clarify that. The mints. Okay, got it. They could have been ⁓ these mints that are the South Carolina Gamecock mints and they ⁓ they that's probably true. Yeah, I I know people that are I can't believe you have a spray. They used I didn't know they existed. Your body does not the sickest people I know. You're right. Bingo because their body's not building up immunity. I dropped that hot dog on the kitchen floor up there. They could eat it. Pick it up and eat it. I mean as long as there's not dog hair type of hair on him, I I'll eat it. I I'm I'm kinda the same way. I'm not really picky about that kind of stuff. Now there's things when I'm like cooking that I pay attention to cross contamination, yeah, yeah, all that chicken juice on the counter, obviously I'm cleaning that up with you bleach some shit up. Yeah. So and I won't use the same cutting board for different kinds of meat, but ⁓ really? No. Yeah. No, I won't do that. No, you don't do it, Brett. I at least rinse it off. I do. That's why we got eighteen cutting boards up in our cabinets. Literally, I think we've got ten cutting boards. It's pretty rare rare I I cross streams. We're either have chicken or steak or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not but you don't cut chicken on a same foot you're doing vegetable. Chicken chicken has different rules. Correct. I get I get weird about chicken and seafood. Those two beef seafood not so much. But chicken for hair. Seafood. Yeah, I worry about I worry a lot about seafood. Yeah. Yeah. And I'll eat a lot. I'll eat a lot of Does it keep you up at night? You worry about it so much? Not that much. Only if I'm gonna be eating it. You're talking about ⁓ dropping stuff on the floor and not eating if it's got hair on it? Dude, we can mop our floor and thirty seconds later I drop something that's got fucking hair on it. You can't get all the hair off of my floor with all those friggin' animals in my house. ⁓ question to Tom then. If it had hair on it, would you eat it? A hot dog? Yeah. Well he's done that before in college. He was experimenting again for Jeff. Two things wrong with that story. A, I didn't go to college. So how'd you went to a college? So where'd you meet these guys? At the grocery store? There were no guys in my life. Were you were you tapping feet underneath the toilet still? Tapping feet. Red socks, no. Well, that's pretty good call back there. Well, no, none of that going on in my life. In the history of my life. I had no idea about the ⁓ yeah, I know people are v I know several people that are very worked up about hand sanitizer and I'll just put this out there. I pee a lot. ⁓ like I'm not wash I don't wash my hands every time afterwards. I I just don't. And people like, What is fucked up? I'm like, ⁓ Okay, that's fine. It is you what I can go back and forth on that. You know something else I don't do? Pee on my hands. Correct. You know what I mean? How do you get your junk out of your pants? Well, you're if you talk about it. Well, I do. So you touched your junk. I gotta believe my junk's relatively clean because I do that thing they call showering. Now you're putting your hands in my chips and then I'm eating chips out of the same bowl. I might as well is it I might as well just Mouth your junk. So your hands are actually dirtier if if I I know what you're gonna say, but I'm just hey how is touching your junk any different than just Touching your face. Not comparing anything to anything. All I'm saying is your fingers are your hands touched your junk, and then your hands are gonna touch something that I may potentially put in my mouth. But my junk is what I'm saying. Which is also his judges. That's Tom we're talking about. Damn it, dude. I'm mixing stories. You see my point. You might as well just put your junk in the guacamole. ⁓ Which he might have done. You need to have a party. I I'm just I I'm gonna say this. I am much more conscientious about that stuff when we are hosting people. Yes. Like they gotta see you washing your hands. No, but I will legit like ⁓ put gloves on to separate pulled ports and that stuff or yeah. So I I I I don't know why I but on a typical day I'll scratch my nuts and then pull the port. There we go. Like with no like hang on. Bear nuts? You're talking outside shorts though, right? Harry nuts, bare nuts. Are we here? Are you are you in the business? The business part of your nutsack, or you just So it's no wonder I go to any of your parties that you have over there. You got smagma all over. I'm gonna stop going to his parties. You got smagma all over Where is the plug in this whole scenario? ⁓ that's too gross, Tom. Ooh, that's too gross, huh? Yes. I didn't say that. It's in the box. ⁓ Okay, I'm not a germophobe or anything. It doesn't sound like it at all. You're close What the fuck? We're talking about you touching your junk. That was a germ. It's putting it in your food. No, I didn't do that. ⁓ I've never done that. You just said you don't always wash your hands. He wipes it off on his shirt like he does his apple. Wait a minute. Stop. Rewind. That comment, what was made before that? I am more conscientious. Brett doesn't wash his hands either. I'm more conscientious about that when I am Methabu. I'm sorry. Don't eat the cream cheese at Tom's house. On the daily I I'm less concerned about it. I practically wash my hands every single time I go to the map. I have I go through boxes of gloves because of all the cooking I do. I have gloves for days. I don't know why that's I don't know. But I I use gloves nonstop. Just because I I don't like touching buttplucks. Some more I don't use gloves, but I just wash my hands all. Well, no, we go so like if we go to Costco and we buy the big thing a hamburger, I always divide it up. Well when I'm dividing it up, I put on gloves because I don't want to I don't want that. Yeah, I look in in general, I don't know how the hell we got all fun. It's a great topic. But in general, you need some bad in your body to develop. I get it probably a billion other places. That that's that's when You may not need ball sweat, but you need something. Jeff said that. I'm like the most I'll just say anal for lack of better term. ⁓ people about hygiene and anal sanitizer on everything and I'm not gonna sit here on the ⁓ the sh ⁓ I w the shopping cart I have to wipe down before I take it. Gotcha. Yep. Those are the ⁓ people that I know are are traditionally the have the most health problems. Yeah. I know I know people that were literally not sit in a bar stool, a restaurant seat that somebody has just got out of because the seat is warm. I'm like, are you fucking kidding me? No, sir. No, I I there there's a family member in in your family that is God love her, she is It's my sister. I'm just like she's hand sanitizer this, hand sanitizer that, and I'm just like And it not that she's a sickly person, but I'm just like after after I go to after I go grocery shopping. Did you puke again? No, I blew my nose. He didn't blow chunks, he blew his nose. No You make me laugh like that again though, I might puke. Okay. After I go grocery shopping, when I get home yeah, I take all the bags in, but when I get home before I touch my containers of food that are going into my mouth eventually. I do wash my hands first. Wow. Really? Wow. I mean I I don't know what the hell's been on. They say airplanes are f the filthiest, dirtiest things in the entire world. I get sick at some level almost every time I fly. Uh-huh. Isn't it your bathroom? Your cell phone. I don't think they say your your toilet sometimes is a is cleaner than your kitchen countertop. Your cell phone's the worst. Cell phone's bad. 'Cause you always take it in the shitter, fecal matter floating around, blah blah blah. So I'll I'll go and take a look. You eat pieces of shit for breakfast? Sometimes. I'll go into the bathroom, Shay will be in the kitchen, you know where our pisser is right there in the laundry room. I'll go out, run water under my hands after I get out of there. Don't use soap. She goes, Aren't you gonna use soap? I go, No, why? I didn't piss on my hands. You're not you're lucky I'm running water over my hands, but it's your hands are cleaner or dirtier. Then you're you're transferring then your junk more shit either junk than away from your junk. Sweat from underneath your balls doesn't need to be anywhere near When I go in a piss, I'm not grabbing my balls. Well you guys aren't peeing, right? If you don't do ⁓ that. What is it? Just saying. Don't you don't you have to prime the pup to s to get it to come out? No, not yet. We're only five years away from that. No, no, I don't. No, not at all. We're only five years away from that. ⁓ my god. At some point you touch it and pull it out of your pocket. What if you sit to pee though? I d I don't know. I don't. I don't, but okay. I don't know. You sure about that time? Positive. Okay. Quite sure. But if you sit and take a take a poop. Yeah. Sit and take a poop and pee. Scrub shit out of my hands. Yeah. Well yeah, if you take a poop, because you had to wipe and you not everybody can ⁓ have a bidet. I don't I don't wipe. Spray. ⁓ you got your bidet. ⁓ we have different hygiene habits, I'll just say that a little bit. I guess so. I don't know. Brett uses his hand and flings it on the wall and it's one poo. Yeah. I mean, you guys make me sound like a germophobe. I really don't feel like I ⁓ am. Of the group, you you're close to the I wash my hands ninety eight percent of the time after I go to any bathroom one or two. ⁓ okay, so okay you're leaving a public restroom. Absolutely. How do you Ooh, how do you exit? How do you how do you exit? Yes. Yes. It it all depends. So normally so the couple I if the door isn't a push out, it's a swing in. It's a swing it. Sometimes they have the foot thing. Yep. You can put your foot in there and pull it out with your your foot. Yep. And other times I if if they have paper towels, I will a hundred percent grab a paper towel and open the door with paper towel. Yep, me too. And Yep. Try to at least throw it in the trash can because now they're smarter, they're putting trash cans near the door. Singo. So I will do that. If there's only hand dryers, I have actually taken the inside of my shirt, the bottom of my shirt, turn it inside out, and pulled the door handle with the inside of my shirt. So now you serious, Clark? ⁓ I'm I have done that before. I've done it many times. Or if I've got long sleeves, I will pull my sleeves down. See? I am with you on it. Go into a gas station when we're traveling down to Kentucky and if it's if it's just a hand driver if it's a pole door and and there's not a boot pole on it, it and I will I will li lift my shirt and pull the handle, without a doubt. I will not put my hand bare hand on that door handle, dude. It's never been cleaned. Disgusting was when they go and clean those bathrooms. Right. 'Cause I never in those situations I never use the toilet. I piss straight on that handle. Yes, so that's why I don't It's the reason we don't touch the handle. Yeah. But my immune system's good, so is mine. I don't Well, as long as you're good, Brad the world's good. I haven't missed a day at work in f years. Years. Well, there was that stretch you years. Missed a lot of days. No, there really wasn't. I don't know what you're talking about. I know where you're going. Yeah. ⁓ rookies is a a push out. Yes. It's a pull to get in. So I'll lean my shoulder into it. I will not put my hand on the door. I will lean my shoulder into walk out of it or Yeah, elbow elbow that bathroom I would absolutely understand if you eat your shit inside out of the But that's any public restroom. You you go into any public restroom. I don't know. There's some that I feel more comfortable with. Rookies now has a shower curtain. They've got a shower curtain in there. That's classy. That's classy that in. I was like, what the fuck? Yeah. What what I just gotta ask you. They at least got a black one so it's not clear. You can't see through. See through it like a shower curtain? Yeah. Well let me ask you, Tom, what public restroom do you feel like is safe that you would go into and actually touch the handle? Buckies. No, I'm serious about this. They don't have doors. Are they they don't no, just on the stalls. ⁓ it's ⁓ kind of it's like a wander in. Bucky's bathrooms are great. Quick trip bathrooms are great. I generally don't think about it. I generally just don't think about it. ⁓ I absolutely think about it every time I go in. I know a little anery tenant link. I'm with Link on this. You already said open door. I know. Fuck that. But on the push out doors, I I never touch it to push it out. I don't know why. I just always kinda run into it or kick it with my foot or whatever. But I turn around on a pole door I just don't bump it. Double up. I don't think about it. I will if a bathroom is Exceptionally dirty. This is and there's a boot thing there for it, I'll use it, but if it's you trip over the door. No, but some of those aren't very easy to use. Yeah. But I know I just don't I just don't think about it. Did you have hot dogs for dinner, Tom? Hot dogs for some reason. I wonder why. So yeah. Yeah, there we go. I don't know how we got on that topic. I don't even I really don't. I can't wait to listen back to figure out And unfortunately I bet it's me and I'm gonna be pissed at myself. All right, so the World Cup, the finals are set. Yes. Yes. Argentina and Spain. Yeah. I didn't realize Spain was that good. Link Link hates Argentina. I can tell. They're they're okay. They're I I'm okay with messy. I don't have I don't have a problem with it. They they've gotten some calls. True. They've gotten some calls. True. Yes yes they have. But they've established themselves as the like cardiac kids of they get down a goal or two and ⁓ have to come back after man. They've figured it out in the last fifteen minutes, which is kinda crazy. Seems like it was a while ago, but the old ⁓ the old ⁓ foul on Erling Holland that took a goal off the board. Push that guy in the box. I mean, usually your superstar doesn't get Calls like that on them to take a goal off the board. I was ⁓ I was I was very surprised by that. 'Cause honestly, didn't think it was that much of a foul. So I know we're we're guys so tired. That's a week ago, but because everybody everybody still flops. ⁓ my god. Yes they do. Yes, they do. Stop with the freaking then they look up and they see the play still going. They look up and they look downfield and see the play still going and go. ⁓ I better get up. I guess. They but then when they get up and start walking, they hold their hands up in the air like what the frick? Why? And I'm like, Nobody cares, dude. The ref's halfway down the field. Nobody cares. I think we talked about it last week. That's in every frickin' sport. No, no, no. That is not in hockey. I will say this. You're right. You're right about that. Yeah. ⁓ or tennis. What football's rare. But you you do see the guys every once in a while that will just fall to the ground and be like, ⁓ he hit me. Whatever. Get your ass off. Yeah, the difference is I I think they're just arguing for a penalty versus like, ⁓ I actually hurt myself that thing. But speaking of tennis, did you guys realize that last weekend was the Wimbledon Wimbledon final? Did you say Wimbledon? Well, I said Wimbledon. Okay. I thought you said Wimbledon. No, it's got a D in it. Nobody Nobody cares anymore, man. Because the USS It's sad. I y when I was a kid, McEnroe, Connors, Yvonne Lindell, I mean all the greats Never Telova, Everett Lloyd, Boris, Mac Morris Baker. What it was Michael Chang. Must watch television. Now it's like Hey, Wimbledon's on. Wumbledon's on. Who's playing Center or g who's center? Who who's this dude? ⁓ playing yeah. Didn't Serena Williams come back and play this year? Yeah, she got rolled. She got rolled in the first match. ⁓ I didn't know that. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So I guess that ex that experiment was a no bueno, huh? Nope. That didn't go well. Good for her though. She's probably what? Thirty-eight, thirty nine. Couple kids out there competing. I I I'll give it to her. One one of the greatest ever. So who cares? Who cares if she got rolled in the first So it that's kinda interesting, World Cup. So Messi is thirty nine, right? Mm-hmm. I think so, yeah. I think that's what they said today. Dude has not had a bad World Cup. Pretty solid. He's ⁓ in the tied for the lead for the golden boot, yeah. I think, but s somebody's got more Yeah, I think somebody's one up on him. Because they have more assists. Yeah, somehow. I assists get three. But if our if Argentina wins, well he's gonna get it, right? No, no, Golden Boot is is is the most goals most goal scored. ⁓ it's it's not an MVP. ⁓ it's not okay. Yeah, so somebody that lost till the semi. You could go out in the first round. But if you had twenty goals, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. Okay. ⁓ Argentina hosts the next World Cup. ⁓ really? So is that dude gonna play at 43? Like if if you haven't i i I don't none of us follow it. The dude physically does not there's he would get picked last. Yeah, just by a size. I've ⁓ been in this position because he would absolutely get picked last because you're like, okay, I guess we'll take you. Yeah. ⁓ he is damn near a foot ⁓ smaller than ⁓ who'd they play, England, right? Yeah, yeah. ⁓ Harry Kane. Yeah. That guy. Yeah. Yeah. Like it like he's ⁓ he's below his he's below his shoulder. Yeah. And like and this dude dominates. It's crazy. He's the energizer, bunny. We talked about it a little bit before the podcast. I watched literally five, six minutes of the first half of today's game and that dude is I'm like this guy's incredible. He absolutely incredible. He is, but i if you pay at pay attention, he walks half of the game. He does not move all he walks half but then what but then when he needs to be somewhere, he's freaking there. Ronaldo did the same does the same thing. I mean they they all do. Holland, he does the same thing. So Messi currently leads the race for the golden boot for this year. He and Killian and Bappe are currently tied at the top with eight goals apiece. However, Messi holds a tiebreaker advantage with four assists to Mbappe's three. There you go. So that's gotta ask you what they bring it up to. And he's still playing and Mbappe has has the yeah, the third place game also. But ⁓ he might score three in that game. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. So Spain do their defense. I really that was a f but they've given up one goal so far? And that was the determinant that was in the quarter final match. Yeah. Yeah. What one goal. One goal. Yep. In all their games so far this year. The guy had like a ⁓ I don't know a six hundred minute ⁓ scoreless streak. Is that six games? Is that three in the round? They've played six sixteen six. So this will the finals in the third place will be seven. So yeah, the guy had like almost a six hundred minute scoreless streak. Like, okay, that's not bad. Wow. But the shots he faced were ⁓ minimal. It w not like he's getting pounded with twelve shots a game. Their defense is good. Like good. I didn't realize how good because I I mean I I know I've watched had watched Spain play a game up until yesterday, but Dude. They're I they're good. I did not realize how good I go back a little bit to when we're like ⁓ kind of can the US compete here? The US is nowhere close. They aren't close to those guys. Not not the final four teams. Miles apart. Yes. I mean you can just even the untrained eye can look at it and go it's something different. So what I notice is is the elite goalies, the goalies are still left, they go get the ball. Yeah. They don't wait for the play to unfold. Yep. they're punching that hell, one dude ran over his own teammate, like punched him in the head, and you're like, Wow, that's but ⁓ I mean that's how I'm not sure if Tom's gonna we gotta we gotta go to joke of the week. I think we gotta cut it. Okay. But I I think they're just that's the one thing that kind of stuck out to me is is the goalies left. They they don't dick around. And they're like, ⁓ that's my ball. I'm gonna make it happen. So the ⁓ the four highest rated teams. So this year, the top four world-rated teams all made the finals. All made the finals. Yep. I hear So the four highest rated teams have all reached the semifinals exactly one time in World Cup history this year. Huh. So yeah. So then they they do like ⁓ Olympic hockey, they play ⁓ third and fourth place to see if it's just yep. That that would suck. Well ⁓ well ⁓ Olympic hockey Olympic sports a little bit different. And that would be the worst ⁓ playing a bit consolation game. No, yes, yes. But if you win You get a bronze medal. Yeah, you're playing for for a medal. You're playing for something. If you lose, you don't get shit. Shit. Yeah. You go home and go, Well, we got fourth. Yeah, you can you can no longer you can't Which isn't bad. I mean No, but nobody says he finished fourth in the Olympics. Correct. Nobody will remember that. He's a bronze medalist, sil silver med gold medalist. Nobody's like you finished fourth. That that just doesn't happen. Yeah. So Yeah, you finish fourth and then after the day you get done finished competing, you got nobody talks about you again anymore. Unless you're Cape Verde or one of the Bosnia Herzegovine, if they finish fourth, they're cut they're they're they're burning the country. Yeah, yeah. They'll get a little conversation. Well they you did see that the US men's national team has to give half their winnings to the women. That's right. ⁓ they have to? Yes. That was legit. Yeah, And I I A I that's that's a collective bargaining agreement. That's well, actually the the women are probably pissed because they've won more world. I get that. I get that. That was yeah. But yeah, the women get half of what ⁓ the men's team. What was it? The ⁓ so somebody the US national team, not headquarters, but whoever they they take a small cut? Yep. Is that what I read? Yep. So what was I think it's fifteen mil, they take like two. So there's thirteen mil left over and they split it evenly with the women's right team. National team. So yeah. that's kinda crazy. Because why? I mean collect the bar well why why is it crazy? Yeah. So under the twenty twenty two women's team is much more successful than the men's team in the United States. Yeah, but women didn't play in this. Well, I get that. But but they've won a hell of a lot more World Cups than US. US Soccer deducts a twenty percent administrative operational fee from the men's FIFA World Cup prize. The remaining eighty percent's pooled and split fifty fifty with the US men's national team and the US women's national team. Yeah. I mean that was this year they won sixteen million, so the Federation cut was three point two. That left twelve point eight to be split between the two. So they each get six point four. So do the women split with the men also what they win? ⁓ reciprocal agreement ensures that whatever prize money the US women's team earns in their upcoming tournament, such as the twenty twenty seven Women's World Cup, will also be shared equally with the men. So the dudes probably like, Yeah, I'll sign that. Absolutely. Because they're th they're probably gonna get a hell of a lot more the women are gonna get a hell of a lot more. Well, I don't know. They don't they don't give away. Yeah, yeah. The eyeballs. That's a whole thing. I mean, but I ⁓ I don't know. I don't know. Why don't you just keep yours and I'll keep mine? How about that? That so that's always an option. We did say something last week that a lot of I know the US men's team, the players on there are not in Premier Leagues, this that and the other. Correct. That's not true. That's not true. I heard on Monday on one of the sports shows I was listening to that there are a lot of players. I I I can't I can't na I don't know names outside of I I'm gonna tell you the announcers always reference he had a great season at at Manchester or There there was one the other day, it's like this guy was the ⁓ V P of the league because this team was getting ready to get relegated. Everybody thought they were getting relegated, which means you drop a level. Yep. He's like they didn't. They actually finished second in the they never talk that way about the US guys. Really? I I'm not but they're on team. I'm not saying they're not on teams. They may not be starters on that team, but they are playing for Those teams over there. I guess I think there's what it is, twenty plus. Hang on, there's twenty there's twenty six. Yeah, I I bet there's at most five in in premier premier level leagues. Five members of the twenty six man United States men's national team World Cup roster play for clubs in the English Premier League. And that's the top league in the Yeah. Chris Richards, ⁓ Robinson, Tyler Adams, Brandon Aronson, and Haji Wright. Yeah, Haji's not from the US. So just so the South American teams He's on the Q ninety five Bob and Tom way back then. He's from the East East side of New York, too. Yeah, yes. So so the South the South American teams and the far east side. Yeah. Is that Con Kifa? Concaf, I think. And my and my overstep of my bounce here on my sacron knowledge. But are there none of the our players playing down there? Which is also probably a pretty damn good league, I would think. I I I'm sure there are but the it's just we don't have a star. No, no without a doubt. I'm not I'm not and we don't even have a anybody that's even talked about like this guy was a hu a huge asset to ⁓ anything ⁓ to to Man you or or ⁓ Liverpool or any of yeah, any any of those. That's just not where we're at. Yeah, yep. But y but you hear all of And we never will be. ⁓ As I've listened to it I don't think in our lifetime, Brett, we ever will be they're saying, ⁓ this this dude moved to right fullback for Liverpool and had a hell of a year and you're like, ⁓ okay, that And the the announcers they've had are s it's so extremely knowledgeable, man. Mhm. It it's it's crazy. But yeah, I I d I just don't think we have that level. We and I I don't think we will in our lifetime. Actually thought I actually thought five was a high guess, but You guessed right. Yeah, I did. I ⁓ Jeff's off the roll with his last two weeks of good guessing. I'm back on. One thir take that one thirty-four point five in Death Valley. In in the same respect, Argentina. Argentina is about ready to play in the finals? Yeah. Six. So now that's premier league. Yeah, but I I bet of those six, three of them are kind of well, Messi's not even in that. Correct. He's yeah, he went in that list. He's an T ⁓ S L or ⁓ L S ⁓ L S, yeah. But i I bet I bet three of those guys are like i all stars, if you will, in whatever terms they use. So I don't know. Whatever. It's where we're at. It's not our sport. Never will be. Could be. Could be, but it's not. How long have they promoted soccer in the United States? Link said this a couple weeks ago. He's like, Did you think that about I IU football? I'm like, Well, actually going into the tournament, I thought I U football had proven themselves. They made the tournament two years ago. Yeah, yeah, but this year I'm like, ⁓ okay, they they beat some some big guns. Beat Ohio State, yeah. ⁓ US was coming out of a pool of horrible scrub horrible screens. And yeah, I'm like, I don't know. I if we played somebody, maybe. Yeah. Now we got ass kicked by Belgium, we turned out to be pretty good. I they're not in the semis, but well what they were still they lost a pretty decent one goal game. We got beat four to one that game, didn't we, Brett? Yeah, God did. Cool I do. Yeah, it was awful. They played awful. Just awful. Yeah. ⁓ well. All right, so is it time? It could be, hang on. Beer and beer. He's loading up beer. I'll have one. Sure. Why not? If all the cool kids are gone. You need something light, Tom, like water. Hot dog water? No. Dog water. I'll take a water light. I've got some hot dog water still up there. I'm sure you do. Well, that's gotta be the worst shit in the world. You gotta lose a bet to drink that. That's all salty. Like what the I think Oscar minor wieners are not good for you. Anyhow. Well as you found out. I'm sure they're not. Well do you want Nathan's? No. There were there were all beef dogs I could have bought. Hey, fat boys. Let's look easy on the beatbox. If any cities in Argentina, I would have gone with that. But I do. Santiago. That's Chile. Chile. Damn it. ⁓ Venezuela. None of us. That's not Argentina. That's Brazil. That's Brazil. We are so pathetic. Wow. Argentina. Link's gonna look a lot. Santiago what's her name was? Madonna was when she didn't when she did the movie. That's it was that Rio? Don't cry for That was spoken that spoke in Washington when she did Vision Quest. No, no, no, no, no. She hooked up with ⁓ that teacher in the bar, I think. She did the did the movie. Buenos Aires. Yeah, Buenos Aires. That's a small city down there. Cordoba, Rosaria, Mendoza, Mar de Plata. I'll go with Mendoza. Marta Plata. Hang on, is it straight Mendoza or is it Heis Mendoza, Argentina? Just straight Mendoza position on the eastern foothills. They need to rename the shit. What was what was the other one that rolled off your tongue there? ⁓ yeah, he was Mar de Plata. Yeah. Marla de Plata. Platypus. That's pretty damn good. Okay, so ⁓ from Mendoza, Argentina is where we're going here in honor of I don't know Don't cry for me and Messi. Don't cry for me, Mendoza. ⁓ in Mendoza, Argentina. This is probably very true there, actually. ⁓ what do you tell a woman? ⁓ Jesus. ⁓ sorry, Jeff, I did I say that wrong? No. What do you tell a bitch? Please Please, bitch. What do you tell the woman with two black eyes in Mendoza, Argentina? Should have made the sandwich earlier. I like it. At least put a mustard dick on there, right, Link? ⁓ No, that was just for you, but That's not it? No. Am I close? ⁓ I I'd say ballparkish, yes. Okay. ⁓ ex girlfriend? Get back in La Cocina. That's the kitchen for those of you playing at home. ⁓ I I actually think I think that works, but Okay. It's it's not in Mendoza, Argentina, not the answer we're looking for. That probably works for the bulk of Argentina, but I don't think it works for Mendoza. You don't have to tell her anything. What did she say? What did she do? What la cosino? What was that? Where did that come from? Alright, we're gonna get out of here. It's safer that way.
