This week, a continuation of our series called “In The Shadow Of…”, where we compare bands to a well-established mainstream act. This is not about copycats, but about artists that have similar vibes, share a sonic soundscape, or whose songwriting and playing styles are sympatico. This is another band near and dear to both of you humble hosts. A band that sits atop the pedestal of all things “heavy”. A band that defined metal in the 80s and 90s while becoming somewhat polarizing in more recent years; the iconic METALLICA! Join us as we discover other bands who were influenced and inspired by this hella great band.
What’s this InObscuria thing? We’re a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. This is not a statement about bands trying to copy one another, but more that they have a shared sound and vision. It’s been said that there is no originality left in rock n’ roll and also been stated that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. As always, we hope we turn you onto something new!
