Keith Hodge: It's in every cell and it expresses at the DNA, which means the DNA expresses itself through the skin, and the skin through the fascia goes back to the DNA. It's not restricted just to the body, it it carries charge both as a transmitter, ⁓ as an antenna and a receiver. And My experience of the fascia has been that it holds the Akasha, for instance. Welcome to True North Alignment. There becomes a point where strategy is no longer the deciding factor. What matters most is the state that you're building from, for this shapes every decision, every move, and every result. When you're aligned, things work, and when you're not, they don't. This is where purpose becomes inevitable. I'm Keith Hodge. Let's begin. Welcome back to True North Alignment where purpose becomes inevitable with myself, Keith Hodge. And today's guest, Paul Abram. He lives in the UK and he is an emotional embodiment coach. And we're gonna have a fascinating conversation today about fascia, intuition, and how it all connects in. Paul, thanks so much for joining me. Thanks for inviting me along, Keith. I've been really looking forward to getting the opportunity to have a another conversation with you. So I'm I'm pleased we can do that on ⁓ on air and perhaps go into areas so far untouched with the with the fascia and Yes, we've never covered this on this podcast. So I mean let's start there. You came to my event, the art of root healing, because you s were interested in in how I was teaching intuition and then you mentioned to me that the fascia carry this this frequency of intuition in the body. Could could you speak to me about that? Yeah. I mean so first of all the fascia is is often considered like wrapping paper for the muscles and it's a very limited definition. that has been based on well it's been based on the work on cadavers. So we what we understood about the fascia was done on dead bodies. And back in twenty nineteen in Italy, they they ⁓ were looking at live fascia under a a very good microscope and what they found was that the fascia was self organizing, that it would it would break connections and make connections very much like a like a spider's web. It's liquid crystal So it's structured water, it's piezoelectric, meaning that it it carries these signals. Because of the structured nature of it as well, it is incredibly it's like fiber. It's like super fast fiber. So information exchange through the fascia is incredibly fast. And it not only wraps every muscle, but it wraps every muscle fiber and is present in every single organ. It is the lungs, it is the ⁓ eyes, it's in every cell, and it expresses at the DNA, which means the DNA expresses itself through the skin, and the skin through the fascia goes back to the DNA. But of course, being piezoelectric, meaning that it carries charge, also means that it's interacting with the environment around it. So it's not restricted just to the body. It it carries charge both as a transmitter, as an antenna and a receiver. And My experience of the fascia has been that it holds the Akasha, for instance. I mean, if we were looking for a place to find ourselves, it would be in the Fasha. And my feeling is that everything we've ever experienced, not just in this physical body, as we would imagine it to be, is stored there, but it's also the link to previous stories. kind of ⁓ iterations or incarnations, however we'd like to look at it. And also from the aspect of if we go into quantum physics or into field relativity, then it also means that it it because it has all that information, it can predict the future. So the way that we could see ourselves in the future is predicated on what the fascia is a is holding now of all knowledge. So you would say as a quantum computer It is working out every single option and based on the probability of where we are right now, you could select the option that is most true for you. So that for me would be saying, right, there is the intuition because right now I'm getting all the signals that suggest my next most intuitive move is this. So yeah, that's how I would try to explain it if that makes any sense. Yeah, it's fascinating to me. I've just written a book on Tree North Alignment. You it's my life's work to bring through what I describe as living in coherence moment by moment by facing the architecture of our past when it starts to express itself and that past is stored in the body. So the body is a map. And it sounds to me like you're pinpointing where actually in the body the the map is is held. So it my question to you is, is this like scientifically provable to say if we use our intuition to trace an emotion that's stored in in the in the say the fascia of the lungs. Is there s a way of proving that, like some sort of technology that says like yeah, ⁓ there's some frequency that that is here? I'm not sure that we're at that stage yet of being able to pin it down technologically. I have been looking at mechanisms for this to be ⁓ so I have a friend and an i an an inventor and he has re engineered the rife machines. If you're aware of rife machines, which is the technology of frequencies to actually get rid of certain diseases, certain issues. Well we've been looking at that in a way to be able to map not only illness but emotion and all frequencies. And I think we're not I don't think we're far away from being able to have a device that would be able to pinpoint what those frequencies are. So for me, in the way that that my intuition tells me, is that the deeper we go, the lower we go in the body, the earlier it would be. So if I was below the waist, I'm below the age of three. If I go really right down to the roots or the bladder and lower, I'm going to a preverbal kind of me. And the programming of of my my life and my trauma and the things that happened to me has shown itself at l different levels. So when I've come into the belly, for instance, this anything that's to do with the belly as a frequency or as a location would be up to about the age of seven and and maybe eight. The point when we begin to learn humor. And then once we begin to understand humor and we we go past the the belly and and its joy, we come up into the heart, we s first start to love outside the family as a teenager. So from around the age of thirteen, fourteen, up to, you know, sort of twenty-one, that's where we really develop a different frequency, our own frequency of the heart. And we start to find our true voice between twenty-one to twenty-eight. And then everything else of life is is in the higher centers with with ⁓ emotion, empathy, compassion. Those are much later in life. So there is there is a map as ⁓ in a way. So for instance, we can say the liver the liver is and this is crossing over to traditional Chinese medicine. The liver holds anger. So that's a very hot energy. Men tend to historically, we have drunk alcohol to numb ourselves and our anger, which then actually gives the liver so much to do that it releases the anger and the trauma. Hence there's normally a lot of fighting and violence when peop when when men are drunk, and not just men. So the gallbladder, for instance, is is co-located with the liver, and the gallbladder is a very cold ⁓ organ and that holds resentment. So if you look for for for most women, the gallbladder is a s far more significant issue for their health than it is for men. And often this is because they don't express society doesn't allow women to express their anger so much as it as it does for men. So that gets repressed and frozen and becomes a gallbladder issue. And other different other parts of the body, other organs are also responsible for for certain emotional aspects. And I think we'll be able to eventually we'll be able to read a frequency map of those and actually be able to excite those areas through genuine we're already doing it with music and different things. It would just be that we'd actually be able to pinpoint very specific frequencies and say, right, this is resentment without a doubt and this will get your gallbladder clear your gallbladder or release the the emotion there. So what I do, ⁓ teach people how to get into those areas with their own hands and with with movements. And also as a one to one coach, I will get in and do manipulation myself because for some people, the blocks are so strong that they can't get in and they can't release that stuff off of themselves anyway. So So when people work with you it's physically, like they meet you physically and you teach them techniques for to how to shift things in their body. Yeah, but you also you also Moving it yourself. And Yeah, so I mean it's someone typically experienced when when like you say you work with the gallbladder. Yeah, so the so I have a friend that's ⁓ similar to me, he's a veteran and ⁓ I would say he's one of these guys that has had a lot of anger through his life. So I I meet up with him every month and I take him through maneuvers and The only I mean, the hands on stuff I do with him is for his shoulders and his neck because he has very significant problems with his shoulders. And through a shoulder release, for instance, he suddenly f he suddenly started laughing and joking, his arm was flopping around, never felt this kind of release of tension before. But a few minutes after that, he started his his body was physically shaking, he felt weak at the knees, cold and clammy, as as just a huge amount of trauma just released through his body. Real like it completely shocked him. And what was so wonderful is he just looked at me and he said, This is magic. He didn't want to know what the release was about. He wasn't bothered. He was just, this is magic. And it's it's like we hold I mean, as you know, we hold these ⁓ patterns and belief systems. They don't just they're not just held for the mind and by the mind. So that it can say, ⁓ you've got a limited belief about f abundance, for instance, or a limited belief around self-worth. They're physical patterns held within the structure, the architecture of as you said earlier, the atomic architecture of the body and the fascia itself. And as areas collapse because we pull away from certain problems, it kind of holds that pattern. It's like a GPS signal. So that atom collapses, the flow, it can no longer flow. The energy doesn't pass through it, so we're getting segmentation, stag stagnation, and dehydration within the fascia. When we can bring movement to it, and movement is the first part of hydration. So when we begin to move, it begins to hydrate the fascia. The piezoelectricity begins to move through and and and bring the kind of sacred geometry of the of the atom back to life. And in so doing, the the memory, so the the identity, the place. and the time of the event is released. So there can be a memory of that or that can pass through the body literally as energetic movement as heat. And some people may feel with the gallbladder, for instance, especially people get a tangy, metallic or bloody taste in their mouth. And often we can be doing something through the neck and someone will say, What's this taste? And I'll know that they've gone through the gallbladder line, the spleen line, and that they've actually started to release something from the gallbladder. So it's fascinating work. I do a lot through online as well, just educating people how to move in a way that helps generically and generally to open the body up and increase it's basically as I explained it to somebody the other day from from the Netherlands, it's like what we're trying to do is take you out of these hidden patterns and give you hundreds of little experiences, tiny experiences of safety, so that the the body begins to recognize safety even when it would normally or historically believe that there is a threat there. So if I said hold your breath and really, really hold full lungs, the body's automatically gonna think there's something happening because we've been we've been taught through our lives that when we hold our breath, it's because we're there's there's a there's a a threat, because we have to be quiet. So we can teach through that breath work how to relax in that tense place and then the body begins to soften and as it does more and more energy is is is moved through the structure, through the matrix of the fascia and gets to those places that haven't been touched before. So earlier in the conversation you mentioned the DNA. Do you believe that the DNA can be I don't know, changed or evolved through this work with the fascia? Yeah, I do. Yeah. ⁓ I've had I've done a lot of I I've used my body as an experimental kind of place all my life. And I used to sun gaze every single morning for eight months, every morning up, watch the sun, every evening, watch the sun go down. And during that time, something happened with my eyes where my eyes were functioning differently. Then as that changed, I began to be able to remember long numbers and I completely changed the way my brain was working. And what I've begun to understand is that through through the access of light into the brain, through the eyes, that And you can do this what it does is of it not only affects the eyes, but it goes on to affect the whole nervous system and it does that through the fascia. So the base of the skull, there are some very small thin strips of muscle which are connected to the fascia ⁓ of the the planta fascia in the sole of the foot. And these are instrumental in in headaches, in tension, in ⁓ calming the nervous system down, in the vagus nerve, and a little bit of pressure on those, you put your hands and fingers in. And then roll your eyes and you can literally feel that fascia moving as you roll your eyes. So just this is the occiput, is it? You're pressing it. Yeah, so it's it's actually so the s they're they're called the sub occipital ⁓ muscles and there's just the lit little strands that come out. But yeah, you put your fingers in it and normally people will find tension there and you think you can feel that. And then you just roll your eyes around and you feel the interaction of the ocular muscles through and into that fascia at the back of the neck there. And then you begin to realize it's like we the eyes are designed to be at a certain place in the head and the head's designed to be at a certain place so it can see the horizon and it can see the saber toothed tiger coming over the horizon. So it is linked to the feet because we need to move really quickly if there is a threat coming. And our head position and our eye position, it's we just don't and haven't understood the fascia. And we're beginning to understand it now in a way That I find is is phenomenal. And just that alone, when you you can feel that and go, my fingers are moving when I move my eyes. And then over time, as you begin to release the fascia and it moves holistically, the the the drying, the segmentation and the stiffness, which you see as we get older, you start to feel stiffer. Well, that's dehydrated fascia. So I'm nearly sixty. So coming towards sixty, it's like I need to move better than I'm moving. And now I'm moving better than I've moved in in a decades. I do have I do have considerable back back problems and the like, but I'm changing that structure. But I was saying today, I was talking to a friend today, and I said, she asked me, What is it, where is it you're going with this? And I said, Well, I think within about two years, I'll be moving my hand and having the complete expression of of my fashion moving with me. I'll feel that. It's very much a Tai Chi thing as well. But as I did that, I felt my toes move. And so it it was the speaking of it as well, which again, that's another thing that's changed in my body. It's I feel the change of my own voice through the body. And I can feel where tension is within the body as I hear my it's like feedback. So when I hear my voice in my own ears. So the fascia in the ears have changed, the fascia in the throat's changed, and the fascia through the organs have changed. And I can feel the difference in that, which is I hear it in other people's voices as well. So I can often hear where somebody will be stuck internally just from the way they're speaking to me. So it's I mean, it could be quite interesting for the audience if you were to like tune in to me. There's one pattern that I have worked on, I believe, to the root, and it still remains in my so it's in my jaw. So I like, you know, I've I actually lost a tooth through clenching my teeth. Right, yeah. And I would say it's probably about fifty percent better from the work I've done. And the issue I got to was birth. So I was stuck in the the birth canal and they were using you know, the forceps to try and pull me out. My internal experience was don't force me, you know. Yeah. Yeah. Anger with that. But ⁓ yes. Is that something you could into online? Yeah, yeah. I mean, as soon as you started speaking There was two things. So one is the way that there's like an an upper resonance or a or a break which is through the cheek. So it's not resonating through that part of the body. But it's also your tail it's your tailbone and your coccyx. So yeah. The basically what it feels like for you is that the your sacroiliac joint needs to open and release to release the pressure through the hips and and through the sacrum, through which is where your support is. So by being able to so basically what it feels like is because of the this very, very, very early and traumatic experience, the fascia clamped in various places. And at fifteen days old, as a zygote, there's one kind of band of fascia which could be seen with a line at the bottom and a line at the top. It's difficult to distinguish what these two lines are, but then as they grow, one forms the jaw, the other forms the pelvis. So the jaw and the pelvis are are are into intimately connected from very early on. And the number of fascia bands that kind of are obviously linked into there, but as you spoke, it was right, I'm seeing we have a diaphragm. The the palate is an upper diaphragm that protects the brain. And that palate is stuck. So for you, there's some rigidity in that palate. So there is a movement which is called the we call it the palate spite. And because of the way the fascia bands are, we only do it from right to left. So the thumb would go into the back of the palate. So sorry, the back of the mouth, at the roof of the the mouth. You'd up apply pressure and then just sweep from the right to the left. And you do that six times. And you could do that. Yeah. Six times, you see. Yeah, six times. What that does is that's going to start to bring that it's going to start to open and r release the pressure that's in that palate. And then at the same time, as I said, there are maneuvers, ways to twist and squats and various things, which would help to open the the ⁓ pelvis, the sa sacrum as well, and as well. It was very direct. And again, this is two things. It's it is my intuition kind of feeling into the energy as you s began to speak. But and and I will go with where I'm immediately directed, which was the tailbone and the coccyx. And It's an incredible experience when these things release. It's just it's and that's part, if not the whole reason why I teach this and why I'm doing this, because as my spine began to realign, as things began to release, I could not believe what was happening. It was it was like all my life. And I've been a yoga instructor, I'm a y a yoga teacher, meditation, I've done tai chi and different stuff for many, many years, over fifteen years, qigong. I've worked with many different variations and masters, and the it never done this. It had never done this really. I've done energetic work, I've had miraculous healings. And then one day I was in this squat holding the fascia behind the skull, and I just moved and the all the way down the spine, everything released. It kind of went ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding all the way to the coccyx. And I was just, what? I was so shocked. And then Even talking about it, my whole energy system just lit up. And so yeah, the jaw and the pelvis for you especially. And is that something that would be best in person, though the ⁓ the pelvis, like if I was in the I mean we could y y you know, it's something, yeah, it to a degree it is, because I can I I can take you to places you wouldn't go on your own. It's kind of to get you to an edge because sometimes we'll Well, you know, like again, it's tension patterns and protection patterns. So I would say, look, we're gonna do this hip release. And there's a point when I'm I'm saying to you, allow me to not only hold this space for you, but allow me to hold you, to to physically hold you during this moment. And as you hit that tension point and your body's gonna be going, I don't want to do this, it's then me saying, But I'm here to hold you and allow allow that to happen. And then when you begin to relax there. It's right on the edge of the emotional kind of safety where you're thinking, I don't like this and it's there. We you know, the point is that that that's where the edge of growth is. And so if we can get you to that point and you can recognise that you're safe, the body will let go, the fascia lets go and you have these you can have these huge releases. Mm-hmm. You're speaking in very similar language. Yeah, I speak about the edge and and then meeting the edge and then Like facing the emotions that are held there. It sounds like there's a real crossover between the work and ⁓ somehow there's a way of translating that into the body so that the the body responds. Yeah. Amazing. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I'll give you an example. If you if ⁓ so the the the thumb of the both hands, but on the inside of the thumb, there's basically a a line of fascia that that crosses up the arm and it comes up the arm through the bicep and then comes in and it in it and it sort of finishes just under the collarbone. So when you if you if you get tight and your jaw you your jaw's a problem, I can say, look, you can come to this collarbone here, here, and if you pull, push the muscle there, push the fascia, and then pull down. So ⁓ mine isn't tense, it's not tender because I do this every day. But if you push into that and then pull and it's tender at all, then that means that there's something there's something blocking there. Similarly, if the thumb, often the thumb joint is tight and tender with people. So healthy fascia doesn't hurt. So it's like if you move through the body and you push anywhere and it hurts, that's dehydrated, segmented, or blocked flow in the fascia. And it's a natural response. We're designed to respond this way and contract. What we don't do where other animals do is we don't shake it out. We don't have a genuine or we've certainly if we had a genuine mechanism, it's now been socialized out of us. But dogs, cats, horses, gazelles, when they go through a fear moment and they contract, they will have a moment where they shake and they will shake violently and very, very rapidly. And that releases all of that trauma, that tension that they've held on to, and then they go back into their normal, natural state. We don't do that. And because we live a sedentary lifestyle, even if we're not sedentary, we spend a lot of time sat down and that compresses the thoracolumbar spine, it compresses the psoas, which is the muscle that connects the legs to the body. It's the only muscle that does it. And that starts in the lumbar spine. So our legs are connected kind of a about four to six inches up the spine. So that's where the legs begin. So you realize that when that stiffens up because we're sat, the pelvis then gets affected and and gets rotated. Now if the pelvis rotates and it's connected to the jaw, what happens to the jaw? It's gonna it's gonna be pushed out another way. Or it's going to try and fight by tensing back up again. And yeah, I mean, once you see it and once you start to experience it, it's life changing. I would love to experience this if we can find a way when I'm over, Paul. Yeah, definitely. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. So let's let's move into purpose now. I can hear a lot of purpose already in this this conversation for you. But my question to you is, what is purpose? Yeah, I think purpose is is like the the sudden or the obvious and immediate knowing of of the flow of life through you. So something something lights up and this would be a certain amount of energy. We could e again, we could probably measure this at some point. But there'd be a certain amount of energy available within the system that is passing through say each of the energy energy centers of consciousness. So you know we call them chakras, the wheels or whatever. If we look at those as like computer chips, so that when each of those lights up in a certain way, maybe all of them connected together or maybe three of them connected together, there will be a sudden knowing and a and and a joy. When people say follow your passion, follow your joy, it's that there's no choice in the following. It's they light up that lights the system up, and then you naturally know where you're going. You don't have to chase that. And I think that was a moment for me. when I realized I'd been chasing a purpose. And then when things lit up and and it was like, that it's like, that's what it means. That's what your passion, that's what your joy is. It's when the whole body lights up in a certain way and you know then. Let's say you've had a clenched fist all your life and you didn't know it was clenched and then suddenly it it lets go and you go, What? That? How obvious. How did I miss it? So purpose is that sudden knowing of of whatever it is that's happening right there and then. That it is you and it is where you're going and there's no choice. And you're it's not overjoyed. It's like beyond overjoyed at knowing that's where you're going. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And then I guess it's like being able to listen to that in each moment. Because it's not that that goes anywhere, it's that we become disconnected because of our emotions, right? So Yeah, at that yeah, at that point it would be So when I look at it from the fascia model, you go, right. So now the only thing that's stopping that flow is the the dehydration in the fascia, the segmentation in the fascia, the constrictions in the fascia, which is just the body having pulled away or contracted from an event in time that it never released. So, you know, if your life has been difficult and traumatic and you've struggled, there's a lot of stuff. That needs to soften and release. And ⁓ my lifetime, my experience in this body anyway, was very traumatic in early childhood and then through the teenage years, and then I joined the military and it just continued. So I compounded the this this period and I pushed, I bullied the body. I trained hard for many years. I overworked, overtrained, I overdrank, I did played too, I did so much so fast to try not to To be in pain, psychological or emotional pain. And it just breaks. And I broke and I went right to the edge. And then I was gifted that moment of seeing what what life is and that it isn't mine, it wasn't mine to take. And from that, it's still taking time for me to really see what my purpose is. And it is it was for a long time using my voice, because my voice would activate and was a catalyst. And it still does that, but not to the same extent. that it did, although that's debatable. But now through the hand and through the touch as well. I mean it's fascinating to hear the the journey you've been on and I really hear like peace and ease in the way you speak about purpose and that for me shows that that you have the connection to it. And we're close to time for is there any ⁓ any little gift you want to share with the audience before we close this conversation? A gift. Do you know, as a like you, I trained in hypnotherapy and and then meditation and the like. I mean, my if it was a gift, it would be this to notice that right in this very single moment as it appears, if you can be aware of your breath and just stay with the breath until it feels like it's happening on its own, that you're no longer in charge of it, then a lot of things will begin to release on their own. Just that alone. Just to be able to sit notice and take the time if it takes two minutes, three minutes, doesn't matter. Take the time every day just to sit and notice the breath and be okay with whatever turns up. And that alone I used to say to people five minutes a day doing that and your life will change. So it would be that. Okay guys, so give that a go. And Paul, if anyone wants to reach out to you, first of all I would say w where are you in the UK if someone wants to have a session? Yeah, I'm ⁓ I'm in the Midlands. I'm i I'm actually in a a town called Newark. ⁓ Newark on Trent, so near Nottingham. So East Midlands. And ⁓ Yeah, there's my my website. I can pass the links across to you. Yeah, well if you want to share one here and then we put the rest with with the podcast. Yeah. Okay, so my ⁓ that's we Yeah you can find me on YouTube, the grounded man dash TV. And I do live so I do a live free lesson every morning at seven AM UK time. So anyone can join in on that. They they just follow along on YouTube. And ⁓ I do have a That's my way of giving to the to the world. I'm I think I'm about in fact today Yeah, today's day one hundred, yeah. So I've been doing these lessons for for a hundred days today, and my my gift is to do at least one free lesson every day for a whole year without missing a day. So I'm a hundred days in. So ⁓ people are welcome to join me there. And then there's all the connections on the YouTube channel to to reach out if they want to do any specific work ⁓ or learn more. I love it, Paul. So, guys, reach out, send some love to Paul and his YouTube channel. Paul, thank you so much for joining me on TrueNorth Alignment. It's been a pleasure to have you. You're welcome, Keith. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for having me on. Thank you for being here. Take a moment. Where are you in alignment? Because in True North, nothing underneath your actions distorts them. And from that place, purpose becomes inevitable. See you next time.
