In this episode of Between Two Pints, Rob sits down with filmmaker and production designer Apidi Onyalo to talk about her upcoming feature film a Black Western inspired by the real lives of historical Black cowboys such as John Ware.
Apidi shares her journey from film school to directing, the research trip that took her across Alberta and Kenya, and what it’s like preparing a feature that blends heritage, authenticity, and cinematic storytelling. We also discuss balancing creativity with the realities of film work, YouTube, self-care, and staying focused on the projects that matter most.
Listen in for a thoughtful and down-to-earth conversation about filmmaking, discipline, and carving out your own voice in the industry.
