In-Between Whatever: “Dispatch from Wabasha, MN”

1:47:38 — While I’m in-between producing shows or whatever, enjoy one of the random recordings I’ve been posting on my Spotify feed since the last episode of my podcast, The Midnight Citizen, back in November 2025.

On this episode, join me on a low-key bar hop through sleepy Wabasha, where I hobble along the Mississippi River after leaving Slippery’s, attempting to suppress acid reflux like a real Grumpy Old Man. Hear my gassy thoughts on the 1993 comedy that dethroned Native American history and bald eagles as Wabasha’s chief claim to fame, investigate an old building that was once home to a mysterious benevolent society, and crawl otherwise aimless through the empty streets of a town that one local told me was “one big rest home.”

But, wait! There’s more!

Join me in Minneapolis the next night, where I start out in the parking lot of an old apartment building where Mary and Rhoda could’ve lived 50 years ago, then make my way back to the hotel courtyard, meditating on everything from mall cops to reality TV, and that weird thing that happened to me this week when I got a call from the police, notifying me that they’d recovered my stolen motorcycle from nearly three years ago.

…And that’s all for this one, but don’t worry, Mike will return soon in…
