The Case for Scripture: 3 Shocking Evidences the Bible Is True Description (with Bible references): In a culture that puts the Bible on trial, can Scripture really stand up to cross‑examination? In this episode of Maintaining Fire, Desmond Flores walks through 3 shocking evidences that the Bible is actually true—not just religious tradition—rooted in passages like 1 Corinthians 15:3‑8 and 2 Peter 1:16‑21. First, we look at the resurrection of Jesus as a real event in history, grounded in eyewitness testimony (1 Corinthians 15:3‑8; Acts 2:22‑24). Then we unpack fulfilled prophecy—how Jesus meets specific Messianic promises such as Micah 5:2, Zechariah 9:9, and Psalm 22:16‑18—and the famous “Texas silver dollar” illustration for the staggering odds of one man fulfilling even a handful of these by chance. Finally, we explore the most overlooked evidence of all: the living testimony of believers whose lives have been radically changed by Christ, just like Paul describes in 2 Corinthians 3:2‑3 and Revelation 12:11. All of this lands in a moment where many are curious about Scripture but unsure what to believe. Recent research shows only about 1 in 5 Americans are truly “Scripture engaged,” even as Bible openness and questions are rising. Barna also finds that roughly two‑thirds of Christians say they’ve wrestled with doubts about their faith (Mark 9:24, Jude 1:22‑23). If that’s you, you’re not alone—and this conversation is for you. Desmond walks through how historical evidence, fulfilled prophecy, and the “letters from Christ” that Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 3:2‑3, along with the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22‑23 and Jesus’ words in John 13:34‑35, point to a faith that is rooted in reality, not wishful thinking. Along the way, we’ll talk about why hypocrisy and church hurt so often cloud the picture, and how genuine, Spirit‑produced fruit in believers’ lives becomes one of the loudest apologetics the world will ever hear. If you’ve ever wondered, “Is the Bible really true—or are we just assuming it?”, this episode will help you think clearly, anchor your heart in Christ, and become a living letter that points others to Him (Romans 12:1‑2; 1 Peter 3:15).
