Hollywood IMPLODES, Battlefield WINS, & Charlie Cox Breaks Your Heart | Week In Nerdom Hello Nerds. Welcome back to The Week In Nerdom, your essential weekly briefing on all the chaos erupting in pop culture. This week, the foundations of Hollywood, gaming, and television were shaken to their core. We’re here to break down the biggest nerd news, from the potential Warner Bros. Discovery sale to Battlefield 6's massive sales victory over Call of Duty, and the absolutely insane news about the Stranger Things Season 5 finale getting a theatrical release. Hollywood IMPLODES: The Warner Bros. Discovery Sale The biggest story this week, without a doubt, is the official confirmation that Warner Bros. Discovery is evaluating multiple acquisition offers. This isn't a rumor; the "For Sale" sign is up. This puts the future of everything from James Gunn's DCU and the HBO library to the Harry Potter franchise in jeopardy. We dive into what this seismic shift means for the industry and who the potential buyers are. Is the DCU about to get rebooted again? Elsewhere in movie news, we discuss the latest trailer from The Daily Wire for their ambitious fantasy series, The Pendragon Cycle, and why legacy media is being forced to take them seriously. Plus, Tron: Ares is on track to be a massive box office bomb, and a horror sequel, Screamboat 2, has already been announced. Gaming News: Battlefield 6 HUMILIATES Call of Duty In a stunning victory, Battlefield 6 sold over 7 million copies in just three days, making it the biggest launch in the series' history. We break down the numbers and discuss what this means for the ongoing war between Battlefield vs. Call of Duty. Plus, Microsoft has officially confirmed a next-gen Xbox console is in development, and we have the latest details. We also cover the original Resident Evil trilogy finally landing DRM-free on GOG and the massive Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage that took down Fortnite and half the internet. TV News: The Stranger Things Theatrical Finale In a move that's either genius or pure greed, Netflix is giving the Stranger Things Season 5 finale a full theatrical release. That's right, the two-hour series conclusion will be in movie theaters on the same day it hits the streaming service. We also have incredible news for horror fans: the master himself, John Carpenter, is developing a new horror anthology series. Plus, we get into the future of The Walking Dead and the newly announced Prison Break reboot. A Tragic Loss in Music: R.I.P. Sam Rivers of Limp Bizkit On a more somber note, the music world is mourning the tragic passing of Sam Rivers, the founding bassist of Limp Bizkit, at age 48. We pay tribute to a true legend whose sound defined a generation of nu-metal. We also cover the latest tour and festival announcements, including Sick New World 2026 and new music from Puscifer. Comic Book & Rumor Mill Breakdown The nerd news doesn't stop. We discuss the end of a major, long-running era for IDW's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) comic series. In the rumor mill, Charlie Cox has officially DENIED rumors of his appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. We analyze his statement and discuss whether he's telling the truth. Finally, a shocking new rumor suggests that Disney's Bob Iger, not Kathleen Kennedy, may be to blame for the recent chaos at Lucasfilm and with the Star Wars franchise. ~General Stores~ Do You Even Pop Culture Bro? - merch https://generally-nerdy.creator-spring.com YodaPool - merch https://www.redbubble.com/people/generally-nerdy/shop?asc=u --SUPPORT-- https://www.patreon.com/generallynerdy http://www.generallynerdy.net http://www.twitter.com/generally_nerdy http://www.instagram.com/generallynerdy http://www.facebook.com/generallynerdy
