Episode 9 dives deeper into the investigation that continued long after Austin Burke was already sitting in jail.
In Chapter Five: Stepping into Ohio's Judicial System — Part Two, we examine the witness interviews, shifting timelines, and growing inconsistencies that continued unfolding behind the scenes in late June of 2017.
This episode explores:
- Rickey Roupe's recorded interview and the detailed allegations that followed
- the chaotic atmosphere surrounding witness statements
- social media contamination and public pressure
- Taylor Dunn and Nathan Moats' interviews
- the overlooked Burger King surveillance video connected to Nick Geott's timeline
- Cody Snyder's interview and the Facebook messages that complicated the state's timeline
- and the psychological pressure that can emerge during police interviews and interrogations
As detectives continued building their case, major questions still remained:
- timelines were still shifting
- witness statements continued evolving
- and physical evidence was still missing
Yet the system continued moving forward.
More than 3,200 days later, Austin Burke remains behind bars.
This episode is not just about what investigators believed happened.
It's about how investigations evolve, how narratives form, and what can happen when an arrest comes before the full picture is clear.
