00:00:01
Speaker 1: The Frames Per Second Podcast.
00:00:03
Speaker 2: All right, y'all.
00:00:10
Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of the Frames Per Second Podcast.
00:00:13
Speaker 2: I am your host, Jalen. Doc, what Mike called me on. Wanted to make sure he called me that on Resident Evil. And here with me, I got Mike, Spike, and Ken. And you clicked on it, so you know we're reviewing Furious. So, I kind of told y'all to watch this when it was like releasing. So I'm kind of, I took, I got notes, but obviously it's been a while since I've seen it.
00:00:41
Speaker 1: So I kind of want to know y'all thoughts. Let's start with you, Ken. What was your thoughts of this, of the series?
00:00:48
Speaker 3: This one took a minute for me to get through. It was dry for especially the first half. Them trying to set everything up. I was, board with this fake harley quinn running around person i was like man what in the world like can we get to something happening instead of this that another i will say the second part did pick up when it got sort of uh intricate and a little bit more interesting with kind of how everything was kind of intertwined together but it was not.
00:01:25
Speaker 1: Living up to the hype for me what about you spike Love the messaging, though, and the subject matter.
00:01:32
Speaker 2: No, don't try to undercut it, nigga. Your time is up. Go ahead, Spike. I liked it.
00:01:38
Speaker 1: I liked the cop dude from, I think he was at Narcos. Yeah, he was. Yeah. Him, so I was excited to see him. I liked the storyline.
00:01:49
Speaker 2: It lost me a little bit in the middle as far as it's like, okay, let's get to it. It's getting kind of mundane now. They drug their feet with a couple of things, and I was just like, I don't need all of this. But all in all, I enjoy it. I enjoy it.
00:02:04
Speaker 1: All right. What about you, Mike?
00:02:07
Speaker 2: It was the epitome of I. It was like a show that should have been a lot darker and more serious, and then it got filtered through like a WB filter. And that was the thing I didn't like about it. Because it's a cool idea, but I don't think this tone for the.
00:02:28
Speaker 1: Show sold it.
00:02:30
Speaker 2: Have any of y'all ever watched, well, I know you probably had known y'all in passing, seen New Girl? New Girl?
00:02:36
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:02:37
Speaker 2: No. With Zooey Deschanel?
00:02:39
Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
00:02:40
Speaker 2: No.
00:02:41
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:02:41
Speaker 2: They created New Girl.
00:02:43
Speaker 1: Oh.
00:02:44
Speaker 2: So I could see, yeah. What was that on?
00:02:47
Speaker 1: I think it was like Fox.
00:02:49
Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
00:02:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a comedy.
00:02:50
Speaker 2: It's a, I've watched it. One of my exes got me really into it. But yeah, I enjoyed this. I also can see how in the middle it kind of drags out a little bit. But overall, I really enjoyed this. We got eight episodes here, y'all. And I'm going to time constrain a little bit. So you won't be able to dive as deep into this as I would like to. So we're just going to get in get into what we can all right not at all um all right so we start with episode one uh we are introduced to uh fbi agent alice black who's investigating the death of billionaire jay easton's son caleb and although caleb's death appears to be a drug overdose alice determines that he was murdered at the scene in the scene with stage with the possibility of it being connected to um The Adrian Moreto? Is that how you said it?
00:03:56
Speaker 1: Moreto?
00:04:00
Speaker 2: Spike, as viewers, we know that this scene, he was murdered because it was obviously the show opens up that way. But what did this tell you about Alice as a detective even though she was supposed to be stuck on phone duty? Observant, this drew me in as a viewer from the sense of, okay, she's going to be like the smart one, like on the criminal.
00:04:22
Speaker 1: Intent the dude is.
00:04:24
Speaker 2: Always like kind of out there uh but she's gonna be the one to pay attention to details she's gonna be the one that like the story goes through so i was intrigued to see how smart she actually was like what type of cop she was what about you kevin.
00:04:39
Speaker 3: Um i wasn't quite sure yet they it's like they were trying to you know just in the beginning, like, show that, like, she's attentive. She's going above and beyond. She's willing to listen to people where the others weren't. And it became like a, they were kind of, it became a job because they have been used to this person calling. But she was like, nah, let me take them and treat them with some sort of respect. But that was about it. So they were trying to at least say that, nah, she's kind.
00:05:13
Speaker 1: Of built different.
00:05:16
Speaker 2: You got anything you want to add, Mike? So we know from the opening scene of The Killer, from The Killer. So, Mike, what did you think about the opening scene with The Killer and how they did it? I mean, it's not really that exciting to watch somebody just shoot somebody up with whatever the fuck she was shooting, fentanyl or whatever it was. It was... What's up?
00:05:44
Speaker 1: I was just going to say it was the stuff Michael Jackson was using. That's not fentanyl, is it?
00:05:47
Speaker 2: Well, that is fentanyl.
00:05:48
Speaker 1: No, it was whatever they used to put you under for, like, surgeries.
00:05:53
Speaker 2: Propofol?
00:05:54
Speaker 1: That's it. Okay.
00:05:58
Speaker 2: But, yeah, I mean, I was intrigued. We don't really see too many, like, female serial killer kind of shows, so I was intrigued. I just knew that they were going to make her, they were going to justify her killings at some point because they don't just have, female serial killers going around killing people randomly so i was like okay what's the story because i'm sure somebody did something to her.
00:06:16
Speaker 4: Okay well while working did you have anything you wanted to add to that aspect uh similar to what mike was saying what's the story here because we don't usually see female anti-heroes so i was that did intrigue me because i was like okay where they going with this.
00:06:35
Speaker 1: Well while working with the state attorneys um.
00:06:40
Speaker 2: Nora Washington. Allison uncovers evidence of Adrian's abuse of trafficking victims and learns that one victim had a distinctive poppy tattoo. After receiving Adrian's files, Alice finds some footage showing that Adrian was attacking a woman with the same tattoo. So, while it was revealed later that Jenny has the tattoo, we are also confirmed that Adrian has a connection and a personal campaign well, that There's also Jenny with a campaign to get revenge. Spike, what did you first think of the dynamic of Alice and Nora?
00:07:20
Speaker 1: Alice and who? Nora.
00:07:22
Speaker 2: That's the black lady. I liked her. I liked her dry humor. I think it worked in this series, to be honest with you. It would have irritated me, I feel like, in another show. But in this show, I feel like it was spot on. I liked how she was kind of hazing a little bit, like making her work for it. But she also saw that she was pretty good, too, and cared. And I think that she, like, gravitated towards it. I'm talking about the black lady towards the white lady as far as her observations. But I liked the dynamic. What about you, Gabe?
00:07:53
Speaker 1: Nora was my favorite character on the show. Yeah.
00:07:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, she, yeah, the dry humor, the humor just overall is really good. But she was really, really smart, which added to it.
00:08:05
Speaker 1: Like, so she was able to kind of cut you up with sharpness. of a black woman with some extra added, like, seasoning on top of it.
00:08:17
Speaker 3: So she was really, really dope throughout the whole show, especially towards the back end of the series when she got more screen time.
00:08:26
Speaker 1: But I really liked her a lot.
00:08:29
Speaker 2: Feel the same way, Mike? I don't know. I didn't care that much about her. Her little, like.
00:08:37
Speaker 2: Her little bite... And the quips, it just felt too sister girl for me. So it just, I got kind of bored with it real quick. And she's also part of what made this feel WB to me.
00:08:49
Speaker 1: Because it was.
00:08:50
Speaker 2: Just like, all right, insert the black woman, make her just make a bunch of standard black woman comments. I just didn't care. And especially towards this little like frail white girl. I was like, I don't, this is, I'm good. I've seen this story three zillion times. I don't care. I mean, I'm surprised she didn't start rapping like she was fucking, what's the dude from Sky Joe that used to rap every line? She ended up singing.
00:09:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, she was singing. She was ready for it.
00:09:22
Speaker 3: I thought she may have did a rap song. She did have you sing about a shot like this.
00:09:29
Speaker 1: Anything else you took from episode one? It wasn't. good enough to be like okay i can't wait.
00:09:40
Speaker 2: To see where this is going yep i watched episode one and then i i actually watched episode one a while before i even got back into it like at the end of it i was like okay it's cool i get back to it at some point i was like i got to binge this shit for real.
00:09:55
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:09:55
Speaker 2: Come on, bro. Me too. What are we doing? I liked episode one. Episode one drew me, especially the last conversation that they had with each other about.
00:10:04
Speaker 1: As it faded out.
00:10:05
Speaker 2: Yeah. And when they were sitting in the hospital talking about abuse and how basically like the abuses always get off. And for her to be, for Alice to be the cop in this situation, she still felt uneasy and off a little bit. Um, cause they were hinting at it, especially when her dynamics with the cops, like something else is going on here. Um, but I was like, I was, I was kind of curious about that because full transparency, since knowing this nigga, Mike, who's I'm, who I'm pointing to, he's not the main reason, but Mike, multiple people have talking about like, just, and then over time, life of life's experiences. Now that I watch shows with cops in it, I'm always looking for the propaganda in it. I'm like, so I'm always trying to figure out, like, am I supposed to be rooting for this cop?
00:10:56
Speaker 1: Like, or how they gonna try to convince me to root for this fucking cop?
00:10:59
Speaker 2: So that I was very intrigued about, like, how, what's the angle here they're trying to use with her being the protagonist? They gotta make her go through intense trauma to make us be like, oh yeah, she's alright. Yeah, yeah. About three episodes later, I was like, oh, okay, I feel a little bit more for her, but Yeah, and in those beginning moments, I was like, she's still a cop.
00:11:20
Speaker 1: She's still a cop. She's still a cop.
00:11:22
Speaker 2: What is that?
00:11:24
Speaker 1: Still the police. That's right. Running from the police. Sorry, go ahead, General.
00:11:30
Speaker 2: It's all right, Pop.
00:11:33
Speaker 1: Episode two.
00:11:35
Speaker 2: Alice believes that both cases may involve the same woman. So Danny and her boss demand that we get more evidence before we actually move with this theory. But Nora reveals her distrust of Alice because of her past as a police officer.
00:11:51
Speaker 1: Which is very interesting to me.
00:11:53
Speaker 2: Like, cop on cop hate. Sounds right.
00:12:00
Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm sorry.
00:12:02
Speaker 2: You talking about her and Marshall or whatever? No, I'm talking about Nora didn't fuck with Alice because she was like, you was a police officer.
00:12:09
Speaker 1: Oh, sorry.
00:12:10
Speaker 2: I don't know how I heard the other thing. I've heard that before. The FBI doesn't fuck with regular cops.
00:12:16
Speaker 1: They're pretentious.
00:12:18
Speaker 3: All these three-letter organizations.
00:12:22
Speaker 1: FBI, DEA, they're probably all like that.
00:12:24
Speaker 2: I get being pretentious and feeling like I'm higher and I'm above you, but she was more so in the vein of like, I can't trust you. Like, I don't know the fuck you got. Like, you be doing shady shit. I'm like, y'all all do shady shit. That's why I felt kind of funny.
00:12:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, like it's a Well, my shady shit is better than your shady shit. That's probably how they look at it.
00:12:41
Speaker 3: It's for a higher cause or purpose.
00:12:45
Speaker 1: Your shady shit is against the everyday person. Mine is for the nation and all. Yeah, yeah. Wouldn't you kind of get that sentiment towards the end of the show? From Ed.
00:12:57
Speaker 2: Well, eventually Alice opens up about being fired after her abuse of ex-boyfriend Marshall. So the did this make you feel anything for alice in this moment again um.
00:13:15
Speaker 3: A little bit only because of how she was viewed within the police force and the lack of actions taken towards.
00:13:24
Speaker 1: The guy that was a cop.
00:13:26
Speaker 3: Who then we found out later or in the same episode that they used to be high school like classmates that turned into lovers and this long-standing relationship that they had. And, of course, because of the fraternity of, you know, the blue, that, you know, she was in an unfortunate situation where even though all these things were happening to her, nobody would either believe her, even though she didn't even report it.
00:13:55
Speaker 1: So, yeah, it.
00:13:57
Speaker 3: Was stuff that they put on it to show that she just left because she had no choice and this guy was still there. Even her best friend, Danny, said he believed her, but I don't believe what he said.
00:14:12
Speaker 1: I didn't get that. You think he believed? Yeah.
00:14:18
Speaker 2: That Marshall was beating up on her? He put everything on the line for her. Yeah, I think he believed her. Especially later on when he revealed stuff. They treated him like an outcast because he believed her. Right. Which he didn't have to do. Yeah, because he went and told the... I thought he was just saying that because he wanted to get the draw. No, he the one that went and told the tow for her.
00:14:39
Speaker 1: She told him. He went and told the captain. They said that later. My bad.
00:14:43
Speaker 3: I missed that story. So she didn't report it.
00:14:47
Speaker 1: No, she didn't report it. He was the one that went and told.
00:14:49
Speaker 2: He knew, yeah.
00:14:50
Speaker 1: He just didn't ask what was happening.
00:14:53
Speaker 2: He didn't give details. Yeah, that's why I was riffing on both sides. That's why she had a problem with him a little bit because she didn't tell him the tale. He went and told on his own. At least that's what I think.
00:15:02
Speaker 1: Did you see that?
00:15:03
Speaker 2: I can't remember right now. Oh, but yeah, see, because he was like, when they were talking to the captain later, he was like, you came and told me. And then he was talking about that being a rift for him in the department and why he wasn't able.
00:15:15
Speaker 1: To move up.
00:15:16
Speaker 3: I knew they weren't fucking with him because he was siding with her.
00:15:21
Speaker 1: You know what?
00:15:22
Speaker 2: That does sound right. He told him to do. That's why nobody didn't fuck with him. Yep.
00:15:25
Speaker 1: Okay. Okay.
00:15:26
Speaker 2: They were basically looking at him as a snitch. Yeah. It wasn't just that he took her side. It was like basically he was a snitch.
00:15:31
Speaker 1: He told him. Yep. Take back what I said there. I remember that.
00:15:33
Speaker 2: I remember thinking that.
00:15:34
Speaker 1: Yep. Okay.
00:15:35
Speaker 2: But yeah, I was intrigued to your question, Jalen, in the sense of them adding the abuse factor in there just to see how it would affect her work, like how deep she would dive.
00:15:47
Speaker 1: In, how much sympathy she would have for the victims.
00:15:49
Speaker 2: That was my next question.
00:15:50
Speaker 1: And things like that. So yeah, that made me intrigued.
00:15:54
Speaker 2: Did you feel like her work was skewed a little bit because of the, you felt like the way she was looking at it?
00:16:00
Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
00:16:01
Speaker 2: What about you, Mike? You felt like there was some bias that she had just because of her past experiences while she was investigating? I didn't notice it at the time. I guess now that y'all are saying it, yeah.
00:16:15
Speaker 1: She let the lady leave to go kill her. Well, that was at the end. True. Yeah. Yeah, at the beginning, she just wanted to catch him.
00:16:23
Speaker 2: That's what I thought. Yeah. But she knew that was something. I don't think if she wasn't abused, she wouldn't look for something more. I think that was the driving force in her, like, nah, it's something else here. Like, continuous looking at the car outside the bodega.
00:16:37
Speaker 1: A murder? Huh? Just off of the murder alone?
00:16:41
Speaker 2: I think she leaves it alone. It was an overdose.
00:16:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think she leaves it alone if she's not going through abuse.
00:16:48
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:16:49
Speaker 1: No, I think she'll do her job, but, okay.
00:16:53
Speaker 2: Because you see how skeptical everybody else was about it. It was like, bro, you sound crazy. Yeah, they was also telling her, you need to go get more evidence.
00:16:59
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
00:17:01
Speaker 3: Which, I mean, I get that because, you know, they need that in order to make a case or whatever.
00:17:08
Speaker 2: Well, as Allison advances, like Allison advances her investigation and she discovers Caleb's lawyer, Oliver Charles. And at the same time, we learn that she's struggling with the abuse from things that's constantly coming up. But Danny is trying to support her and helps her to finally overcome this.
00:17:36
Speaker 1: Fear that she has. Did y'all feel like.
00:17:40
Speaker 2: This was a lot? The shower? The fear of showering? The fact that he was calling out how she smelled was crazy. Yeah, this was a lot. This was a lot. I mean, I guess it was impactful being that it was like how people was saying, man, you stink. Like, they were making it play out on screen, making us really feel it as viewers. But it was a lot.
00:18:06
Speaker 1: A lot in the sense that they were doing too much or just like... No, I fucked with it.
00:18:10
Speaker 2: Like, it added to the story. It showed just how affected she was. Like, I think it was one point that they drove home, but then it showed it. Like, I wondered why she kept looking at the shower and wasn't doing nothing, but then it finally came out and then people started talking about how she smelled. It was like, oh, okay, so she really fucked up behind this. So it did add a layer to it. What about you, Gabe?
00:18:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
00:18:34
Speaker 3: Because you don't really know how these things impact people. And some of these things we don't always see. And it could be something for her. It just had to be something that started to impact the physical world for other people. But just seeing the trauma that she had Experienced to the point where I can't even get in this shower because the last time he did it was so freaking traumatic and abusive that I'd just rather not even go through that anymore. I thought it was really dope and caring for him to be like, look, I'll sit here. I'll be your guardian, your protector, so you can get in there and do that. And it was still kind of hard for her to do it she still had to you know kind of over overcome it and but if she was able to do it knowing that that he was there it was a really sad scene you know especially kind of think they faded the black they did something where they kind of banned you know zoomed out and he was just sitting there so yeah.
00:19:43
Speaker 2: You know we come up yeah that's the shower scene that was a really good scene really really good scene because when he first said he was like you stink.
00:19:50
Speaker 1: I don't know how to tell you this yeah.
00:19:54
Speaker 2: Bro she gotta smell bad for you to tell a girl that you kind of like that she stinks what that's that's crazy but yeah when we hear the story that's why i wish this was made by a different studio or something because it wasn't dark enough it didn't it didn't go which way you want to do it Like, that story is so deep and detailed and very fucked up. As many shows as I've watched and movies as I've watched, I've never even thought about that. But, yeah, man, that was a really touching scene that he was just like, I'll be here. Just take a shower. I'm not going to look. Even though I'm sure he, you know. He wanted to. But, yeah, man, that was a really, really, really good scene. And that was good writing, that particular part. Yeah. All right. When he said she was stink, and then, like, they went to that party, and the sister said she was.
00:20:44
Speaker 1: Stink, too. Yeah, she was like, I see she still don't take a bath. I'm like, damn.
00:20:46
Speaker 2: But old dude was on the dance floor just dancing with her. He didn't give a fuck. I'm like, you nasty, Nick.
00:20:52
Speaker 1: That's a nasty nigga right there.
00:20:55
Speaker 2: I was like, you a nasty nigga.
00:20:57
Speaker 1: A golden mind. That is right.
00:21:00
Speaker 2: Y'all not going to, just because she smell a little bad.
00:21:03
Speaker 1: No, nigga. Y'all bougie as hell. What?
00:21:05
Speaker 2: Fuck that. I'm just kidding.
00:21:07
Speaker 1: That's a fair amount. Hold on.
00:21:10
Speaker 2: It ain't that she smelled just a little bad. She smelled bad in the car just sitting still. Now she on the dance floor dancing and sweating. Funky pheromones, dog. Shut up, Mike. You lying. Man, you ain't live, Spike.
00:21:25
Speaker 1: That's why there was a lot of space around. It would just hurt. Right.
00:21:28
Speaker 2: She didn't walk. She didn't game with him.
00:21:34
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
00:21:34
Speaker 2: I was like, go ahead with your funky ass. I don't give a fuck. He knew he was taking that stinking ass home.
00:21:40
Speaker 1: Oh, man.
00:21:41
Speaker 2: I mean, we also learned about how she also is connecting to abuse as well when.
00:21:51
Speaker 1: Having sexual intercourse. Yeah. Oh, when she fought the dude that she found on the app? Mm-hmm. Yeah.
00:21:58
Speaker 2: But she didn't give him none either, though.
00:22:00
Speaker 1: I thought she did.
00:22:00
Speaker 2: He said, I thought we were going to have sex. And she was like, nah. She sent him off and she finished herself.
00:22:06
Speaker 1: Oh, wow. I thought he was down there.
00:22:10
Speaker 2: She pulled the rose up.
00:22:12
Speaker 1: I didn't see it.
00:22:14
Speaker 2: He was being a gentleman. Ken looked away.
00:22:16
Speaker 1: I don't care.
00:22:19
Speaker 2: You know, I'm just here. I don't need to see it to believe it.
00:22:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, he was like, what?
00:22:29
Speaker 2: I came all over here and beat your ass at night. I just wanted to fight. Can you imagine that?
00:22:33
Speaker 1: You beat a bitch off an ab and she want to fight?
00:22:35
Speaker 2: That would be the craziest thing in the world, bro. They're going to throw the balls, bro. Because he probably didn't think it was literal until he got there. He was like, wait, you really want me to hit you?
00:22:51
Speaker 1: Because you know, girls, you talk to me like, I'll beat your ass. You're like, oh, yeah. You're wrestling and shit.
00:22:57
Speaker 2: You really want me to beat your ass?
00:23:00
Speaker 1: Oh, my God, man.
00:23:02
Speaker 2: That's the scaryest part.
00:23:04
Speaker 1: It is. Yeah. That shows like he.
00:23:08
Speaker 2: He fucked up for staying He might be.
00:23:12
Speaker 1: More fucked up than her.
00:23:14
Speaker 3: Marsha messed her up bro To the point where she gotta Why you make that face You don't think he gets fucked up I don't know if I can say that But I'm.
00:23:24
Speaker 2: Saying it is fucked up for you to stay And do that shit Even on the flip side like I said Not getting there and she want to fight But you actually engaging in it You don't know her you just met her on an app Let me go on with your ass real quick I don't keep James You know, so look, yeah, people are into weird shit. I try not to judge. I wouldn't want to do it because I don't like hitting and any of that stuff.
00:23:48
Speaker 1: I think it's weird.
00:23:49
Speaker 2: I don't even like all that choking shit.
00:23:50
Speaker 1: I think it's weird. Personally, I think it's weird. You lost me there.
00:23:54
Speaker 2: You lost me there. But see, it's all about what's socially acceptable. You're right. The choking thing got cool, and all of a sudden, now it's perfectly fine. But if she wants you to hit her, oh, no, I'm not doing that. But you'll fucking take her fucking breath away?
00:24:10
Speaker 1: Yes.
00:24:11
Speaker 2: Exactly. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. This just shows social conditioning at its finest.
00:24:19
Speaker 1: I mean, it is. But I also... Nah, that's too much. That's probably too much.
00:24:23
Speaker 2: I don't kink shame. I'm just not engaging in it.
00:24:26
Speaker 1: I think for me, it was just like.
00:24:31
Speaker 3: For me, it was like equal opportunity. I was just thinking about like, is this the outcome of what she went through to the point now where you're on the app and you're looking for somebody to come do that to you because you have been in.
00:24:52
Speaker 1: This relationship like that, so.
00:24:56
Speaker 3: Traumatized that it's almost like you need it. So you need or want, or whatever, whatever the proper term is for this abuse to happen, yeah, for.
00:25:08
Speaker 1: That, but you won't take a shower.
00:25:11
Speaker 3: Like, bro, that's, that's, that's some, yeah, that's some heavy shit, bro.
00:25:18
Speaker 2: I think those are the type of things I really had, I enjoyed the most about the show, is having a conversation just about how abuse looks, you know what I'm saying?
00:25:26
Speaker 1: So, yeah, I really appreciated that. Meanwhile, Jenny.
00:25:32
Speaker 2: Is manipulating Oliver to stay in his apartment. And he eventually reveals that she was underage years earlier. He knew her. So she drugs him and restrains him and confronts him about what he did years ago. You know, had that nigga all kind of fucked up in there. Then they had her sign an NDA and all kind of other bullshit.
00:25:51
Speaker 1: She signed it.
00:25:52
Speaker 2: She signed it.
00:25:53
Speaker 1: No, she didn't.
00:25:54
Speaker 2: No, she did. I thought she wouldn't sign it. They didn't show it.
00:25:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, they didn't show it. I thought they showed it. Because she was like, what does it say? He says blah, blah, blah, blah.
00:26:02
Speaker 2: I think she did sign it because she didn't care. Yeah, she did sign it. She just wouldn't leave. Yeah, she wouldn't leave. She didn't care.
00:26:08
Speaker 1: It just didn't mean shit for her because she wouldn't kill him anyway. Yeah, she knew she was there for her. But her daughter, his daughter arrives.
00:26:16
Speaker 2: So, Jenny ends up telling his daughter, Mira, that Oliver abused her when she was a teenager and that basically, that nigga dead.
00:26:26
Speaker 1: I killed that nigga.
00:26:28
Speaker 2: I ain't like this. You didn't?
00:26:30
Speaker 1: Talk to me why you didn't like this.
00:26:31
Speaker 2: I feel like it was kind of cheap because I was really interested in this moment at the show to see what she did as like a bad guy. All right, now you're in a fucked up position. You got this dude in here. You done drugged him. You got this little girl here who you of course don't want to hurt because you suffered from abuse yourself. And I feel like it was really easy the way they let her out of just like, oh, I'm just going to tell her what happened. I don't know what that goes.
00:27:02
Speaker 1: Yeah but also it seemed like.
00:27:07
Speaker 3: She was picking up on signs that her dad was kind of grooming her for a similar situation remember the hair thing and.
00:27:20
Speaker 2: The whole like he wants you to keep the hair because he wants you to have a boyfriend that definitely gave weird creeper vibes to me Yeah. Got you, got you. I mean, unless fathers do that, girl dads do that, I don't know.
00:27:31
Speaker 1: We don't have one here, so I don't know.
00:27:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't have one here, yeah.
00:27:34
Speaker 1: Yeah, the one that could speak to it isn't here.
00:27:36
Speaker 2: I wouldn't think, not going to speak for Rod ever, but that doesn't sound like some shit Rod would say.
00:27:41
Speaker 1: Keep your hair so you can get a boyfriend.
00:27:43
Speaker 2: That sounds weird. Yeah. Okay, I missed it.
00:27:46
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:27:46
Speaker 2: Common thought is dads are usually against their daughters rushing to have a boyfriend.
00:27:50
Speaker 1: That's why it was weird. Okay. That's why it was weird. Why is he saying, you should make yourself look more presentable for me? Got you, got you.
00:27:57
Speaker 2: Okay. Yep.
00:27:57
Speaker 1: Yep. And then he was into that anyway. So, okay. Exactly. Understood.
00:28:02
Speaker 2: So you couldn't tell if he was grooming for other people or.
00:28:04
Speaker 1: If he was grooming for himself. Got it. Got it. Okay. Okay.
00:28:07
Speaker 2: All right.
00:28:08
Speaker 1: That makes it better then. The payoff. It makes it kind of better. Yeah. But it was pretty weird. But did it make sense, Mike, that she let her live? Let the little girl live?
00:28:19
Speaker 2: Yeah. It did not make sense. Well, it made sense, but it didn't work with her whole end game her motive because how was she to know that that girl would not tell and she was just getting started so it was like why would I mean I don't know I don't know I struggled with this part because there was no reason why the little girl wouldn't tell even though yeah she told the daughter like yeah your dad had he raped me when I was 15 yeah but that's still her dad like I don't know I don't know. I think it makes sense in the realm of even though she wasn't a victim, the daughter wasn't a victim, she was being groomed to be one. And the way of giving her a life ahead of her. This is a way of allowing her to have a life to move on outside of the sins of what her daddy was about to give her. Sure.
00:29:23
Speaker 1: Sure.
00:29:24
Speaker 2: Sure, but then we'll get to some other killings later where it's like, okay, this isn't tracked. So I started to question, okay, what is really going on with this woman?
00:29:34
Speaker 1: But we'll get to that.
00:29:35
Speaker 3: It also seemed like they kind of also tried to give her a bit of an outburst. out with this girl by saying that she only comes around whenever she's in town. So she doesn't have a close relationship with the dad anyway. And that she only kind of visits.
00:29:48
Speaker 1: Oh, that's true. Yeah.
00:29:49
Speaker 2: That's true.
00:29:51
Speaker 1: Yeah.

00:30:29
Speaker 1: Well, we get to episode three and Alice.
00:30:33
Speaker 2: Is given the opportunity to lead the investigation about Oliver because she thinks that all these killers are me and Todd. And the team learns that Adrian was seen with that young girl. And so while learning that, we also learned that Oliver was also at that party, a potential suspect at that party as well. Wait, who was Oliver? That's a little dude in the chair?
00:30:57
Speaker 1: No. Oh, shit. I wasn't.
00:31:09
Speaker 2: Making fun. I was just trying to be descriptive.
00:31:15
Speaker 1: I didn't think about it.
00:31:16
Speaker 2: It was just like natural reaction.
00:31:21
Speaker 1: Oliver is the dad. The dad that just died.
00:31:27
Speaker 2: The dad that just died. Why am I not... Catherine.
00:31:30
Speaker 1: I mean, Janie just killed. Oh!
00:31:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Sorry, okay. I'm sorry.
00:31:34
Speaker 1: So she learned that he was also... So Alice.
00:31:36
Speaker 2: Learned that he was also a suspect at that party.
00:31:38
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:31:40
Speaker 2: Um... Kim, was it fucked up that Frank was just like, Alice, you're wrong. This has nothing to do with sexual abuse. It's probably because she's a sex trafficker. It's financially motivated. She was sex trafficked and financially motivated.
00:31:57
Speaker 1: Who's Frank? Frank is the FBI agent. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, it was. And there was a lot of.
00:32:09
Speaker 3: Dialogue and messaging about how people view that space, that world, their understanding or misunderstanding of it. So, yeah, it was fucked up that he just kind of was brushed it off, just kind of cast it aside. You know, and they, you know, this is the guy I was thinking about. They also tried to make him some sort of comedic relief, too.
00:32:30
Speaker 1: You know, so.
00:32:31
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, they did. That was kind of annoying.
00:32:33
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:32:36
Speaker 3: But it was kind of messed up where he just was like, you know, it is what it is. But a lot of them kind of felt like a good number of them felt that way.
00:32:46
Speaker 2: Well. They tracked the suspect to a shelter she visited. where we learn that Jenny's real identity.
00:32:54
Speaker 1: Is someone named Catherine. We later learn that one of the women, Becky.
00:32:59
Speaker 2: Who basically Catherine was seducing to get different things and have her help her with the discovery of these people, she's been murdered by Catherine. And Alice is kind of confused why this person was murdered. And so people believe that the motivations aren't aligning up and that maybe these deaths aren't the same. So, Mike, is this one of the deaths on why you were, like, confused? Which girl are you talking about? So, Becky is the girl that was... That was one from the shelter. Yeah, I didn't like this.
00:33:32
Speaker 1: So, yeah, you didn't like this?
00:33:33
Speaker 2: I did not like that she killed her.
00:33:35
Speaker 1: Okay, talk to me. Because why?
00:33:38
Speaker 2: Becky was a good person. From everything that we could tell, like, what.
00:33:42
Speaker 1: Was bad about her? I mean, she... She gave her drugs and stuff?
00:33:45
Speaker 2: But she made her. Yeah. Alice made her.
00:33:48
Speaker 1: Not Alice.
00:33:49
Speaker 2: The killer girl. Catherine. Catherine. Catherine made her do that.
00:33:54
Speaker 1: So I didn't. I guess there will, though. She didn't really want to do it.
00:33:57
Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
00:33:58
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. So Catherine made. I'm going to say she's bad because she cheated.
00:34:02
Speaker 2: But that is.
00:34:02
Speaker 1: That's not bullshit. That's what I'm saying.
00:34:05
Speaker 2: It's not killer.
00:34:06
Speaker 1: It's a good person. OK.
00:34:08
Speaker 2: OK.
00:34:08
Speaker 1: She's a she's a she's a decent person.
00:34:10
Speaker 2: There you go.
00:34:11
Speaker 1: She slipped.
00:34:12
Speaker 2: I mean, she come in there, showed her titties.
00:34:13
Speaker 1: I mean, yeah.
00:34:14
Speaker 2: What's a motherfucking exposure?
00:34:15
Speaker 1: It was, it was, it was, yeah, it was, it was on site at that point.
00:34:18
Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
00:34:19
Speaker 1: And then she tried to come back and say, we can't keep doing this. Catherine was like, you sure? She's like, okay, all right, damn, one more time. Hold up, hold up. As a matter of fact.
00:34:27
Speaker 2: Plus, you already hit. How you gonna say we not gonna do this no more? Like, you already fucked. Like, stop it. But no, I didn't, I didn't really like this death. I didn't really think it made a lot of sense. Why did she kill her?
00:34:36
Speaker 1: They never really explained it, did they? No.
00:34:39
Speaker 3: Maybe she just got too close and she became a liability. That's all I can think about.
00:34:43
Speaker 1: I thought, Just assumed she thought she was going to tell on him.
00:34:45
Speaker 2: That's what I thought, too. But that's why would she think that about her, but not about the little girl at the beginning?
00:34:50
Speaker 1: That's a good point. Well, maybe she sympathized with the little girl. That's what I'm saying. But the lady was a victim also that she killed, right? I don't remember.
00:34:58
Speaker 2: I thought she said that in the shelter. You have a better memory than me, so I don't know. I think it's more so that Becky was trying to buck, too. I thought Becky just said, I'm not doing this anymore. I'm going to do this this last time, and that's it. Yeah, but she came back another time.
00:35:13
Speaker 1: They had an accident. She tried to put her out, didn't she?
00:35:14
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:35:15
Speaker 1: She tried to put her out first, and then she met on the bridge, and she tried to buck again.
00:35:19
Speaker 2: I think that's the second time. Yeah. So it's like two times. Like, you buck. Like, I got to get you out of here. Like, I can't trust you. All right. I don't remember the second buck, but I believe y'all. Because the first time was in the shelter.
00:35:29
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:35:29
Speaker 2: And then she met her.
00:35:30
Speaker 1: When she met on the bridge, she's like, I can't keep doing this. Like, I'm done. I'm out.
00:35:33
Speaker 2: And Catherine's like, no, you're not.
00:35:35
Speaker 1: She's like, yes, I am. So then she killed her. Yeah.
00:35:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, this hurt Catherine's story for me. She's not a sympathetic villain anymore. She's just like, okay, that's fucked up. Why you kill her? Did it kill her story off for you too?
00:35:49
Speaker 1: Yeah, but.
00:35:51
Speaker 3: It didn't really mess anything up for me, but I just thought that it was just like, once she said, yeah, I'm not doing this anymore, I was like, okay, yeah, that's a wrap for you.
00:36:03
Speaker 1: And I think that that was it. It was just like, yeah, you're now a liability. I got to get you out of here.
00:36:08
Speaker 2: I mean, she also teams up with her ex, Marshall, and he talks to her about the investigation.
00:36:15
Speaker 1: Did it seem like he was remorseful to you? Yeah, but also remorseful, regretful.
00:36:22
Speaker 2: He was sorry for what he had done to the chick, Allison, but he also was mad at how it affected his career, too. It looked like he was just overall in a bad place in the sense of him taking care of his son. Then his career took a turn. He couldn't get no promotions. He really felt shitty about what he did.
00:36:42
Speaker 1: Danny had the son. Yeah, that's who I thought. He's a Marshall. Yeah, Danny had the son. Marshall was her ex-boyfriend.
00:36:49
Speaker 2: Oh, no. Dude a dickhead. Okay, I was about to say. I was going to ask a question.
00:36:57
Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
00:36:57
Speaker 2: I'm thinking about the dude from Narcos. But no, this dude from White Lotus. She was cute. They She was whatever the way she had been. He always played an asshole.
00:37:09
Speaker 1: Right, it's crazy.
00:37:11
Speaker 2: He's never been a good guy. He just has a face now.
00:37:15
Speaker 1: He's an asshole.
00:37:16
Speaker 2: He has that face. And that was the point that I was going to. Even if he was remorseful good, I just couldn't see him as that because of all the previous roles that he's played. Dude's an asshole. So you said, hold on, White Lotus, he was an asshole. Remember, he was the husband with Shield. Alexander D'Addario. Oh, yeah.
00:37:32
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:37:33
Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
00:37:34
Speaker 1: No, what they said, what she said, or something like that. Yeah, he was. All her fault is what you're talking about. All her fault, yeah.
00:37:38
Speaker 2: Remember all her fault? I thought you were talking about White Lotus. He was in White Lotus the first season. He was the asshole there, but he was the husband in all her fault. Alexandra Dardario in White Lotus. I heard you. Oh, but I said that. No, no, no, no, no.
00:37:53
Speaker 1: I heard him and was looking at you, so I was answering both at the same time.
00:37:56
Speaker 2: You remember the other show he played in where he was an asshole, right? I remember looking him up on IMDb and seeing that, but I don't remember him being in that show. We reviewed it. I know, I know. He was the husband. Spoiler alert for all her fault. He basically was the one that took the baby from an accident. Remember, he stole the fucking key.
00:38:14
Speaker 1: Got it. I remember now.
00:38:16
Speaker 2: I remember now.
00:38:16
Speaker 1: He always is a shit of a person in every show.
00:38:20
Speaker 2: He can't be a good guy. It's sad.
00:38:22
Speaker 1: It's sad.
00:38:23
Speaker 2: And he's probably just, he's probably happy to be typecast. I mean, he's a good actor.
00:38:27
Speaker 1: He's going to keep it working. You know, yeah.
00:38:31
Speaker 2: All right. And meanwhile, Catherine, I mean, she continues living under this identity while working as a nurse for Alden.
00:38:39
Speaker 1: Who has muscular dystrophy. Dystrophy.
00:38:43
Speaker 2: There we go. I had to look it up. It doesn't say it in the show, but I had to look it up. So y'all probably wouldn't have known that because I didn't know what it was. She secretly collects items from her victims, though. And she's also an adult streamer. And she's doing all these things. Did this add anything to her character for you, Spike?
00:39:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, it hit a.
00:39:08
Speaker 2: Lot of different avenues of the abuse trail that she was hitting on, all the different things that she did, the steps she had taken to get to where she was. And I thought the character of the kid that she was taking, I thought he was interesting. He brought a spark to the show. I like his humor and stuff like that.
00:39:24
Speaker 1: Kid? Man, you're right. I don't think he was a kid.
00:39:29
Speaker 2: You're right. Which guy are y'all talking about now?
00:39:31
Speaker 1: In the wheelchair.
00:39:33
Speaker 2: I thought he was a kid.
00:39:34
Speaker 1: I thought he was a kid. There's no kid. How old is he?
00:39:37
Speaker 2: You don't even know.
00:39:38
Speaker 1: Right. How old is that motherfucker? I would say 19, 20. Shit. I thought he was like 15.
00:39:44
Speaker 2: Oh, really?
00:39:45
Speaker 1: Yeah. So you thought that was adding to the pattern of abuse too?
00:39:49
Speaker 2: I thought it was, but maybe y'all are right and he's an adult. I didn't catch that he was an adult.
00:39:54
Speaker 1: I thought he was like maybe 19, 20 years old.
00:39:56
Speaker 2: How old do you think he is?
00:39:57
Speaker 1: Like 30? He had that old face. He looked like he about... He.
00:40:00
Speaker 2: Sounded like a kid.
00:40:02
Speaker 1: Huh? He sounded. Y'all don't stop. That's only because of.
00:40:05
Speaker 4: Stop.
00:40:05
Speaker 2: You know how sound works, Spike? Jesus Christ, man.
00:40:10
Speaker 1: That's not... No.
00:40:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't judge him by his voice at all.
00:40:13
Speaker 1: At all. He was a good actor. He was a good actor. He was intriguing. He had... He had to do much. He had good timing with his jokes. He did. Oh, he did.
00:40:25
Speaker 2: That's right. With the wheelchair and all that. The way he was fucking with the other cop.
00:40:31
Speaker 1: Hey, so... I guess... You want to tell him? I didn't really think about his age too much. I just.
00:40:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't really think about his age too much. But also, Catherine.
00:40:45
Speaker 2: Reveals that she has this connection to this other young girl who she's looking to. She goes and finds out that she basically has gone back to the family. Did we see her earlier? Or did they just go? No, this is our first introduction. But they're conversing about this person named Isabel.
00:41:01
Speaker 1: Which is that girl's older sister, right?
00:41:02
Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
00:41:03
Speaker 1: Is it her older sister? She was supposed to save, I thought. At the time, yes. That was what they told us.
00:41:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what they told us.
00:41:09
Speaker 1: The little girl was not her daughter.
00:41:11
Speaker 2: It was her sister.
00:41:12
Speaker 1: That's what y'all are saying, right?
00:41:13
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:41:14
Speaker 1: Yes. At this time.
00:41:15
Speaker 2: At this point. I mean, at this point. I thought that was even at the end. I thought that's what happened. Yeah.
00:41:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, it was supposed to be a sister. Yeah. This is Isabelle's sister.
00:41:30
Speaker 2: But in reality, it was her mother.
00:41:32
Speaker 1: Yes. I'm about to say.
00:41:33
Speaker 2: I thought you were saying the opposite.
00:41:35
Speaker 1: I thought I was tripping. Okay, cool.
00:41:36
Speaker 2: All right. But at this moment, did this bring you back in for Catherine at all because she was trying to take this person out of this lifestyle? No, because I was like, why don't you kill big man? I don't understand what the fuck's up with this chick, this woman. Sorry. I don't get it. You killed Becky for no real reason. But you haven't killed big man who is physically beating the shit out of this girl. So I don't get it. This was very confusing for me. I think I.
00:42:07
Speaker 1: Understand the reason for not killing him immediately.
00:42:10
Speaker 2: Maybe it was. She never killed him. Yeah, you're right for the ever. But I think immediately I understand it as far as like in that moment there was no way for it. Based on the way she was killing so far in the show, it was more premeditated. And that would have been. She didn't have the upper hand in that moment. Yeah, I'm not saying when she was under the bed. I'm not saying she should have killed him right then because how? That guy was... We assume he was big. We never really saw him. It was like in those Tweety Bird cartoons you see the mama's big old ankle feeling through their face. But... I'm saying she at no point even came back to that.
00:42:44
Speaker 1: So it was just weird.
00:42:46
Speaker 2: This guy is the epitome of an abuser, and he's pimping out your friend's daughter. But wouldn't, isn't it harder to, as a person who's gone through abuse, wouldn't it be harder to, I'm asking the question because I'm out of ignorance. If this person is actively accepting to go through abuse with this person, If I take this person, if I take that person out, this person does resent me in a certain way. She ain't got no idea. But that's not the way, well, I guess. She ain't got no idea. All she got, because she doesn't know she's killing those other dudes. Yeah, she doesn't. She doesn't.
00:43:23
Speaker 1: I don't know.
00:43:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, this was weird to me.
00:43:24
Speaker 1: I guess, I don't know.
00:43:25
Speaker 2: I think as a person who, I mean, I'm talking about it out loud. If you're going through abuse and you're watching somebody else go through it, you recognize there is a piece of it that you have to get. Like, I'm going to give you the tools, but you also have to use them in order to really get out of that cycle of abuse. Sure, but I'm there for you. So if I kill this guy, that removes that weird attachment that you have to him. And then I can be there for you to take you out of that and help you. So maybe if they ironed out and they said out loud that she still... Remember what they said earlier, that she didn't feel comfortable being the guardian for her, which is why she didn't keep her around or whatever.
00:44:10
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:44:10
Speaker 2: If they kept with that, I would have accepted it. But they didn't. They just didn't even bring up the idea that she ever even thought, I should kill this guy. I think I'm also struggling, and I think this is why I enjoy the show, because it helps me dissect how I still learn about abuse. Is even with Alice, like, yes, she was taken out of that piece of abuse, but there was still some attachment to the. Oh, yeah. She still loved him.
00:44:33
Speaker 1: Yeah. And like there's still an attachment there.
00:44:35
Speaker 2: So even if you took this person out of that, you took this man out.
00:44:40
Speaker 1: Because you're so conditioned to it.
00:44:42
Speaker 2: She'll probably still find a way back to it as compared to actually helping her get the tools to get out of it. Not necessarily, because remember, she said she's like, you went back and she's like, yeah, I love him. I'm talking about the... What was her name? Isabel, the girl? The daughter or whatever? She said, yeah, I went back because I love him. She didn't say or imply I love this life. You know what I'm saying? So if she removed that from the situation, then things... And also, it's not like....
00:45:12
Speaker 1: Catherine was her name? Yeah.
00:45:14
Speaker 2: It's not like she thinks her moves through all the way, all the time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it seems like she would have impulsively been like, Because, like, yo, she's killing all of these guys that caused her friend's death, but she's just not going to kill the pimp that's harming the daughter? It was like, well, you got to explain this. Yeah, and no, she's kind of on a clock a little bit because she set herself up by giving the photo to the daughter to give to Alice. Okay. So she already knows that eventually the police are going to catch up to me because I'm giving them hints about what I'm doing. I don't know if she thought she was going to get caught. Because she was the only one with her face turned away. And even if somebody said, oh, that's so-and-so, how are they going to find her? I don't know. It's not a humongous deal. It was just, it didn't make any sense to me. But I probably missed something. Well, like I said, she ends up getting the photograph to.
00:46:18
Speaker 2: The photograph thing, and they identify that Isabel was a former foster child and was connected to Catherine.
00:46:24
Speaker 1: So we go to episode four.
00:46:26
Speaker 2: Let's speed through this a little bit more. After the interaction with Marshall and his mom, what did y'all think? Overall, what did y'all think of this interaction in general?
00:46:37
Speaker 1: I couldn't. She said, yeah, your ass didn't learn shit. I was like, what the? Where is this going?
00:46:45
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:46:46
Speaker 3: And she was like, yeah, you got to apologize. You need to take that statement back. I was like, yo, what the fuck? And she set that up so well, too, bro. She slow-walked me into it.
00:46:59
Speaker 1: I was like, yo, that's crazy. She said, you're ruining my son's life.
00:47:04
Speaker 2: What do you think they're trying to.
00:47:07
Speaker 1: Say here? What, enablers? Yeah. She probably know her son is fucked up and shit like that, but.
00:47:14
Speaker 2: She ain't gonna fuck.
00:47:16
Speaker 1: Huh? I said, oh, yeah.
00:47:17
Speaker 3: Yeah, she don't give a fuck. She just knows her son can't get a promotion. I brought you into my house, and I saved you from a situation that this is how you repay me?
00:47:26
Speaker 2: That's what she's thinking.
00:47:27
Speaker 1: Yep. Like, come on now. Hey, favor for a favor. You need to fix this.
00:47:31
Speaker 2: I wanted to knock her ass over. Pushed her right out of the chair. I do want to knock her ass over and be like, now you figure this shit out. Figure that out.
00:47:39
Speaker 1: Figure out how to get up. So was Alice, she was on her right to pull a gun out on her? Oh, hell yeah. Hell yeah. She put a strap on that motherfucker, bro. He backed all the way up.
00:47:53
Speaker 2: I ain't even about to talk about it. I don't even know why you walking up on me.
00:47:56
Speaker 1: Is there a problem here?
00:47:58
Speaker 2: Is there a problem here?
00:48:00
Speaker 1: I can hear you from right there. Yeah, I like that scene a lot.
00:48:05
Speaker 2: This is where we learn because Alice reaches out to Danny, but he's not answering because he's attending to his child at the moment and also dealing with his own divorce.
00:48:14
Speaker 1: At a care facility. I was confused about this.
00:48:17
Speaker 2: They just do this. Who the fuck is this dude?
00:48:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, they just do this.
00:48:21
Speaker 2: This is like four episodes in. Well, he said something about it later that they tried to tie.
00:48:26
Speaker 1: It in too. I mean, this is getting a season two. Oh, it is?
00:48:32
Speaker 2: Yeah. That's interesting.
00:48:34
Speaker 1: I'm cool on that.
00:48:35
Speaker 2: I don't think this needs a season two.
00:48:36
Speaker 1: Me neither. Yeah, this should have been one done.
00:48:40
Speaker 2: But Alice and Nora are searching for Isabelle. believing that Catherine may be targeting Jay Easton next. Alice learns that Nora has been hiding, basically, information. Did this change your view on Nora at all, that she's hiding shit at that moment?
00:49:00
Speaker 3: She's a smart person. I don't know what she figured out when she was looking through the clothes. And, yeah, I was like, wait a minute. Was she involved with this thing this whole time? And was she playing Alice this whole time? So I was like, yo, this. this is getting a little wild here.
00:49:23
Speaker 1: Same.
00:49:24
Speaker 2: It made me way more intrigued about her character and her role and what was going on.
00:49:29
Speaker 1: Because she shut that whole shit down. She did.
00:49:32
Speaker 2: You don't ask me questions. Took her off the case. I'm like, yep, you up off of that. Well, Catherine is also on her revenge campaign posing as Marta. And so she ends up, you know, finding a mark in the sun. You know what I'm saying? And ends up getting in the house that way. Like, that nigga a sucker.
00:49:49
Speaker 1: That nigga.
00:49:50
Speaker 2: And he about to marry her. All for one night. All for one night.
00:49:56
Speaker 1: He said, can you leave before my parents wake up?
00:50:00
Speaker 2: That part was pissing me off. Y'all don't kick this girl out your house.
00:50:05
Speaker 1: Man, bro.
00:50:07
Speaker 2: I mean, I did like the part of like she was playing a role and then she was trying to play the role.
00:50:11
Speaker 1: But when he called a slut, she was like, that's it.
00:50:14
Speaker 2: It was weird, though. But dudes watch too much porn.
00:50:18
Speaker 1: This is true.
00:50:19
Speaker 2: To think that that's.
00:50:21
Speaker 1: Anybody wants that.
00:50:22
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:50:22
Speaker 1: He was like, yeah.
00:50:24
Speaker 2: After y'all just got done talking about choking both of us.
00:50:26
Speaker 1: He said it's the only way. But it's.
00:50:29
Speaker 2: As I've just. I'll say this out loud. As I matured, you learned. Because you're not taught young to have true conversations about sex.
00:50:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
00:50:37
Speaker 2: You get older, you realize, oh, let's talk about how you enjoy having sex. So this nigga on the first night, you doing all that? Bro, you wildin'. On the first night? He might be used to that type of, you know, acceptance because he's rich.
00:50:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, he got money.
00:50:52
Speaker 2: He probably does do that to women, and most of the time the women are fine with it. Or not fine with it, but they don't say shit.
00:50:58
Speaker 1: She was like, nah, but can you hold me? He was sick.
00:51:05
Speaker 2: Y'all were assholes, man. He was sick, bro.
00:51:08
Speaker 1: Because he had just said, he said, that's the only way I can go. Bitch, you were like, I don't like it. Just hold me.
00:51:15
Speaker 5: No, I'm not laughing at her. I'm laughing at him because he fucked up the whole thing. You didn't have to do all that, bro. You had your opportunity. You just had to do the bit. Like, you doing extra shit on the first night.
00:51:27
Speaker 2: You went too hard.
00:51:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, you went too hard, bro. Shit. He should have just... One spike said I didn't need it.
00:51:32
Speaker 2: I'm not repeating that.
00:51:35
Speaker 1: He should have just went ahead and just kicked her out, bro. It's a wrap. See, I didn't say all that.
00:51:39
Speaker 2: That's what I thought they were saying.
00:51:41
Speaker 1: No, I'm not saying... It's time for you to go.
00:51:43
Speaker 2: I'm more saying that, nigga, you just fucked up the whole play because you being extra.
00:51:47
Speaker 1: Like you said, niggas watch too much porn. That's too much.
00:51:50
Speaker 2: That is too much. Not every girl likes to be called a slut while you're having sex with her. No.
00:51:54
Speaker 1: I definitely would have kicked her out. There's a cop... You gotta go. There's no... about that time reference.
00:52:01
Speaker 3: You don't have to wait till the morning your.
00:52:06
Speaker 2: Uber will be here in nine minutes i would not have kicked her out no i would have done exactly what he did but i would have never did the slut part is my my man right i would have never been.
00:52:17
Speaker 3: Yeah but if i did and i ruined the mood and she's sitting here saying can you hold me for the rest of the night Nah.
00:52:24
Speaker 2: She didn't say the rest of the night. She just said, homie, she might have got something started again. Then you learned your lesson. Don't call her a slut. You might have been able to finish. Because she was clearly there for sex. It's not like she was there to hang out and be friends and watch TV. So he might have been able to finish if he apologized. did what she asked, and then, you know, treated her like a normal person.
00:52:46
Speaker 1: It looked like they were in the same position when.
00:52:48
Speaker 3: That scene came back.
00:52:51
Speaker 2: Man, Mike, niggas get on these microphones and they ain't never fucked up. I know. I didn't know I ain't play like that, but damn, there have been times I done fucked up and be like, all right, well, I got to sit in this shit. Oh, I ain't never fucked up during sex and be like, oh, no, we got to stop. I ain't never done no shit like that. No, I've definitely had conversations where it's like, oh. I thought we were here, like we were talking about it, and she was like, I ain't really in the mood for that.
00:53:14
Speaker 1: Like, all right, well, cool, then let's kick it.
00:53:16
Speaker 2: Like, my whole, I just want to say my expectations is like, all right, well, shit, I got to, like, I'm going to sit here and enjoy your company now. This is what it is.
00:53:22
Speaker 1: Like, I ain't going to kick them out for that. Oh, hold on. So you ain't going to kick? All right. All right.
00:53:28
Speaker 2: Whatever.
00:53:28
Speaker 1: These mics are rolling, Mike.
00:53:30
Speaker 2: Listen.
00:53:31
Speaker 1: Listen.
00:53:31
Speaker 2: You ain't have to.
00:53:32
Speaker 1: Listen.
00:53:32
Speaker 2: Remember I told y'all earlier, being silent is taking a side. You just took a side.
00:53:39
Speaker 1: I'm listening to y'all talk. I love these conversations.
00:53:42
Speaker 2: Ken Sheeran, you just took a side. I ain't going there for.
00:53:50
Speaker 1: You. Oh, God. That's funny.
00:53:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, right. So she eventually kidnaps the dad. Did this begin to... Well, Mike already thinks she's erratic. Did this become erratic for you or did you already know the trainer she's erratic? Yeah, at this point she was spiraling to me. She was wild and I'm like, alright, she just lost the whole plot of what's going on and she don't even know what she's doing. But I think the show's tone... swayed into that as well. It went from what they were doing in the beginning to, okay, we're completely, we off the rails now. So, it wasn't bad. Well, she ends up taking him back to Alden House where he's there waiting for a proposal. And she accepts. You know, like this, I was seriously like, what the fuck do y'all have me watching? What is this?
00:54:52
Speaker 3: Mike, she, it, My takeaway was that she's extremely committed.
00:54:59
Speaker 1: To her mission.
00:55:01
Speaker 2: Oh, so she didn't really want to marry homeboy?
00:55:04
Speaker 1: Hell no.
00:55:05
Speaker 2: I couldn't tell.
00:55:06
Speaker 1: I don't know.
00:55:07
Speaker 2: I really couldn't tell. I don't know.
00:55:10
Speaker 1: I don't know.
00:55:10
Speaker 2: Wasn't he rich? No. I don't think he was rich.
00:55:14
Speaker 1: I think she was using him. Because everything was starting to close in on her?
00:55:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, it gave her access to a house, a van. She used this van, a room. It was a way for her to kind of mask her identity as this nurse, whatever, whatever. And I think she just, it just went too far. And it kind of got away from her, and he fell in love with her. Because she was sitting there showing the breasts and shit like that, and this bubba was like, yeah, I'm in love with you.
00:55:45
Speaker 1: That'll do it. And it was like.
00:55:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, I had the same question, Spike. I really had the same question.
00:55:52
Speaker 1: Will you marry me?
00:55:53
Speaker 2: What's the point?
00:55:56
Speaker 1: I just want to let you know, I got fellas for you.
00:56:01
Speaker 2: They did something sexual.
00:56:02
Speaker 1: What? No, they didn't. All she did was rub his hand. She pulled something out.
00:56:08
Speaker 2: I didn't see her pull out shit. And certainly didn't pull out a dick. I thought she gave him a shot or something and.
00:56:17
Speaker 1: They did, but maybe I'm wrong. She was hand massages, bro.
00:56:22
Speaker 2: She asked him, like, are you sure you are something, something, and something? He was like, yes, nurse. And then it faded to another scene.
00:56:30
Speaker 1: I don't remember that. No, his heart wasn't working, bro.
00:56:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, she can't fuck him now. Ain't no way she was having sex with him.
00:56:38
Speaker 1: Wait, okay. I'm talking about the dude in the chair.
00:56:40
Speaker 2: We all talking about the dude in the chair.
00:56:42
Speaker 1: Right, all of them.
00:56:43
Speaker 2: She was doing something for me. I think she was just being nice to him.
00:56:46
Speaker 1: She was being nice. And that's it.
00:56:48
Speaker 2: She was being nice and that's it. She was like, I need to get this done by any means necessary. He was too wrapped up, man. She gave him a hand job or something.
00:56:56
Speaker 1: Wrapped up.
00:56:57
Speaker 2: If y'all don't stop. Wrapped up. All right, so. Y'all ain't shit.
00:57:05
Speaker 1: So Alice is still doing her work on the back end, basically. He was good after that. He was.
00:57:10
Speaker 2: And basically.
00:57:15
Speaker 2: The boss of Nora finds out that basically my shit connected to all this that's going on. One of them that Nora basically says, I'm going to take this public. And Ed is throwing his weight around on the case or whatever. Basically, that's exactly what it was. While Alice is working on the case without being on the case, she also invites Marshall over. And they have this interaction. Was she fucked up for doing this, Mike? Nope. Nope.
00:57:44
Speaker 1: Nope. I don't know.
00:57:45
Speaker 2: Nope, because he wasn't, if he was remorseful for what he had done, I would say yes.
00:57:50
Speaker 1: But he wasn't.
00:57:51
Speaker 2: He was still a piece of shit. So I feel like, yeah, use him, abuse him, fuck him. What about you, Spike?
00:57:58
Speaker 1: Same. I would million percent agree.
00:58:00
Speaker 2: The scene was a bit ridiculous, though. Like, you couldn't have stopped her. Like, she probably weighed 100 pounds, period. And she over here pouring liquor, and he's just, your hands work, dickhead. Like, what are you doing?
00:58:15
Speaker 1: Stop it. Hit her.
00:58:16
Speaker 2: Shit. Smack the bottle.
00:58:19
Speaker 1: Out of her hand.
00:58:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I meant.
00:58:22
Speaker 1: Smack the bottle out of her hand. That's what I meant.
00:58:27
Speaker 2: Jesus Christ.
00:58:28
Speaker 1: Oh, God.
00:58:31
Speaker 2: Don't y'all dare. Y'all know what I meant. I meant hit the bottle. I didn't mean hit her. It just came out wrong. Jesus Christ.
00:58:39
Speaker 1: Fuck y'all.
00:58:41
Speaker 2: The fact y'all laughing at that.
00:58:42
Speaker 1: Y'all some assholes, man.
00:58:44
Speaker 2: It's because it's you. That's not what I meant. I meant like swing at the bottle. Like knock the bottle out of her hand or something. You just over here.
00:58:54
Speaker 1: Stupid. It caught him off guard, boy. He was being waterboarded with alcohol.
00:58:59
Speaker 2: But after a while, you come through. Yeah, like it, though. Like, you were drunk, and you didn't gave up the bottle. And I'm about to get ass in my biggest vice.
00:59:08
Speaker 1: He was all in. He was like, damn, this is the best night ever. I ain't know you had a night like this forever.
00:59:15
Speaker 2: Right.
00:59:16
Speaker 3: I'm like, shit, I ain't know you into all this. Because by then, he had knew her kinks.
00:59:21
Speaker 2: That's like slipping cocaine off the ass cheek.
00:59:23
Speaker 1: Wait a minute.
00:59:24
Speaker 2: You into this shit? But I'm losing my career over this?
00:59:30
Speaker 1: Like, wait a minute. Maybe I didn't do anything wrong.
00:59:38
Speaker 3: But I absolutely loved this scene. Because I'm like, bro, she got to be setting you up. This was on, you know, I was watching The Last Knight. And I was telling my wife, I was like, man, so fucking stupid, bro.
00:59:52
Speaker 1: Like, he just was like, oh, shit, dad. It's on and popping now. Yeah.
00:59:58
Speaker 2: In the.
00:59:59
Speaker 3: in the FBI offices, didn't think through anything, and she had got him.
01:00:04
Speaker 1: I was like, that's what his ass get.
01:00:06
Speaker 3: Because I was like, okay, because I love the dynamic, the dilemma they put her in with, like, hey, the only way you can get back is to clean this shit up.
01:00:16
Speaker 1: Was she going to do it? And how was she going to get out of it? And I love seeing that.
01:00:20
Speaker 3: I love seeing how smart she was and was able to kind of trick him out of that shit.
01:00:24
Speaker 1: That shit was dope.
01:00:30
Speaker 2: A lot is going on as far as Marshall is obviously upset after this. But Catherine basically escalates to killing the guy that she kidnapped. And Alden just sees the dude right there bleeding down in front of him. And so she runs away to a shelter where she ends up running into Alice. at this moment. Um, and then we go into episode six where while seeking refuge, those two begin to begin to have a dynamic. What did y'all think of the dynamic of Allison and Catherine once they started talking to each other?
01:01:13
Speaker 1: It will, it was, it was interesting. I wish they, I don't know. It was, I love the advice that Nora was giving you.
01:01:22
Speaker 3: Like, you know, whether cats just keep it simple, you get too much, you're going to tip her off. Plus, You have to give her rights. I love hearing like that sort of inside baseball there. Seeing how crazy Catherine was, but also seeing a little bit in Alice, being able to kind of connect and bond with her as well.
01:01:45
Speaker 1: And just seeing how it would play out. Then seeing also.
01:01:47
Speaker 3: Like Catherine pick it up on something's a little off with her.
01:01:53
Speaker 1: And I don't know what it is.
01:01:55
Speaker 3: But then, of course, her suspicions were verified later by an old girl. She was like, you ain't even coming to the fucking shower. So I knew that shit was real. And then using that against her. So I liked seeing that dynamic play out. And I think, especially after you telling me what you just told me, they used this just as a bit of a teaser for whatever episode season two is.
01:02:15
Speaker 1: Going to be about. Don't feel the same way about the dynamics?
01:02:20
Speaker 2: I didn't like it. I felt this was too far-fetched in a sense. I got why She went in there without backup. I got why she, the black lady, held off in telling people to get her backup. But I just never got, throughout the whole show, that she had those type of chops as a police officer to be able to go in there and talk to.
01:02:41
Speaker 1: Her like that. She didn't. She wasn't good at it.
01:02:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, but she fooled her.
01:02:47
Speaker 1: Enough.
01:02:47
Speaker 2: Like, she was skeptical, but she still fooled her. So I didn't, I think that that lady was socially awkward the whole fucking show. So now you go in here and you expect me to believe that you convinced this other crazy lady that you like were a victim of a even though she was a victim that's that's that's the point where you you lose me i guess because she's a true victim of a yeah it's not even about being a cop as i was told i have a true story of abuse and now okay i'm actually seeing the actions of you experiencing abuse.
01:03:14
Speaker 3: It's real names it's kind of like in first season of lioness tell the truth change certain details.
01:03:21
Speaker 2: So you're not Right, so you ain't got to remember all of this.
01:03:24
Speaker 1: Right, right.
01:03:25
Speaker 3: So she was telling the truth, but what gave her away, which is why she was good at it, was when she mentioned a name.
01:03:31
Speaker 1: I think it was Isabella. That's not what gave her away. The sleeping. She was like, yeah, I think it was the first time.
01:03:36
Speaker 3: She was like, okay, that's weird. She was like, what was I talking about in my sleep? She was like, yeah, you mentioned something about Isabella. And then she was like, okay, that's weird. But she kind of let it go.
01:03:45
Speaker 1: Then she did something to really. No, it was the snitch.
01:03:49
Speaker 2: Yeah.
01:03:50
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, the girl said she worked. Yeah. She said she fed.
01:03:55
Speaker 2: I mean, elsewhere, Alden, honestly, Mike, while watching this, I was watching it in real time. I really just, I was like, I wonder if Mike gonna fuck with this dude fucking with these cops.
01:04:08
Speaker 1: Alden, when he was fucking with the cops.
01:04:10
Speaker 2: That part was amazing.
01:04:13
Speaker 1: That was the best part of the show. It was so good.
01:04:16
Speaker 2: That part was good, man.
01:04:19
Speaker 1: I can't remember what it was. It was something.
01:04:21
Speaker 2: He said something.
01:04:22
Speaker 1: He was like, oh, cops are bastards.
01:04:24
Speaker 2: Oh, I missed that.
01:04:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, he did. He said it in there. I was like, I know Michael. Oh, I missed that. Damn.
01:04:29
Speaker 2: I probably didn't understand what the fuck he was saying. I might have to go back and look.
01:04:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, he didn't like cops at all. That whole time he was in the office, he was just fucking with me.
01:04:36
Speaker 2: I just fucking with all that shit. Yeah, the rolling back and forth shit was hilarious.
01:04:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, what you just said, Spike. He said, you have to push me. And then he just drove off. He was like, yeah, I don't like you. He said, you're an asshole or something. He told that guy, the Asian guy.
01:04:54
Speaker 2: He said, it's old manual.
01:04:55
Speaker 1: He said, how the fuck it get old manual?
01:04:57
Speaker 2: And you know what he was saying? Yeah, like, because I would have said the same thing.
01:05:06
Speaker 1: Ain't no way you reached over there and flipped that switch.
01:05:09
Speaker 2: Well, uh, Alden eventually gives Danny a flash drive containing files where he finds out Alice is actually a part of those files as well. And so we end episode six with also Marshall getting shot by Catherine when they're leaving. This right here was kind of like, I got it, but I didn't get it. I think they were trying to say something here, and I didn't really pick it up. Was Alice really trying to tell her to shoot him? Because they brought her back up, like, I was trying to understand Alice's dynamic in what happened. Because I know they had a connection, but I was trying to understand how Alice actually felt in this moment. I felt like she wanted to get revenge and was letting her go to go shoot him. I think, all right, well, before you answer. He's talking about Marshall.
01:06:01
Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
01:06:02
Speaker 2: My thoughts was Alice was just as mixed on whether she wanted him shot or not because of how she felt about him from the abuse. Because it's just as complete that she is about the abuse. That's how she felt in that moment. But a part of me is like, nah, it's definitive here. And I can't really decide if it's definitive or not. I think she wanted him... She probably wanted him dead until she actually saw him get shot. Then she was like, oh. I don't know. This part was weird, too. Yeah. Because she definitely... She didn't say yes, necessarily, but she didn't say no, either. I don't think she knew to answer herself. That's why she didn't answer. I think in that moment, she wanted him dead. All right. Well... Marshall ends up recovering in the hospital and Ed is beginning to try to erase all these files, find these files, and doing whatever else. But he also refuses to help Nora and basically tells Nora, you done because you a drunk. You came up here smelling like a drunk and all this shit you doing is done.
01:07:05
Speaker 1: With.
01:07:06
Speaker 2: This also causes Nora to eventually teaming up with Alice. What did y'all think about this team up of her actually going against the grain in teaming up with Alice. I like that she teamed up with her. I didn't think that she was going to have another route to.
01:07:23
Speaker 1: Go about it.
01:07:24
Speaker 2: I thought once Buddy shut her down, she was going to be out of it, and it was just going to be on Alice. So I liked when Nora found another route. All right. Well, Ed is also trying to buy the flash drive from Danny because he knows Danny got the files. And you're like, that's going to connect all this shit, and I ain't trying to have none of this shit pop off like that. But this is kind of the connection of the son, because Ed threatens his son in this moment. It's like, yeah, I know where your son is at and the stuff he needs. If you lose your job, basically, your son's going to be right in the middle of the street. They give no fucks about that shit. So Danny and Danny basically catches up with Nora, and now they're trying to race to the house after they have confronted Catherine. Did you agree with Alice's motivation to let Catherine go in this moment when they caught her at the hotel?
01:08:19
Speaker 3: Yes, because I think at this point Danny revealed that she was on the files and she didn't know. So now she has added a layer of motivation. And I think she empathized with what Catherine was going through. She had been going through everything and she understands that this is another level of abuse and Child trafficking and sex trafficking, all this stuff. So so she definitely was looking for her to get the revenge that she could not get on her own. But, yeah, I agree with that. I also think that and I don't know if this was I don't know if she. calculated it out fully in this way, where she let her go in order to get access to the house. And that was the reason why, that she said in the final episode. So, but, you know, but it made sense.
01:09:16
Speaker 2: Well, now we're to the final episode where the confrontation is basically at Jay Easton's house.
01:09:21
Speaker 1: And we basically see a lot of the... I mean, we already knew this nigga was a fucked up freakish piece of shit.
01:09:29
Speaker 2: But in this moment, we definitely hear how fucked up he is and how fucked up his daughter was.
01:09:38
Speaker 1: Like, what did you think of this reveal, Mike, of just.
01:09:42
Speaker 2: I mean, we kind of got hints of it already throughout the whole season, but this last episode of their interactions, the daughter and the dad. This was very, very fucked up because I was thinking he's grooming the daughter too, but the daughter was.
01:09:56
Speaker 1: I don't know, 60 or some shit.
01:09:58
Speaker 2: So I don't know what happened there, but the fact that she was covering for him was just insane. Insane.
01:10:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, it was gross.
01:10:09
Speaker 2: Yeah. It was gross watching her bring that little girl in there and all of that. It was just gross. Even though when she treated the little girl and the little girl left, like, she was just a piece of shit, too. It's not like she had, like, empathy that I did this shit to you. It's like, no, take your ass on it. He didn't seem to feel bad about it at all.
01:10:24
Speaker 3: Nope.
01:10:24
Speaker 1: No, it was just like a part of her life. I mean, but I guess that's a part of the grooming.
01:10:29
Speaker 2: Because, like you said, the way he reacted to her when she was, like, defying against him, it's like, my whole life I've used money to control you.
01:10:39
Speaker 1: Right.
01:10:39
Speaker 2: And so he thought he still had that power until she realized, your old Pharrell ass.
01:10:43
Speaker 1: Can't do shit no more. Pushed his ass down.
01:10:47
Speaker 2: I would have let his ass go to jail, honestly. That would have been the year. That shit, but she was still protecting himself.
01:10:52
Speaker 1: Yeah. In a way, she's a.
01:10:55
Speaker 1: She's a victim and an enabler at the same time.
01:10:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:10:58
Speaker 1: Because she probably grew up, it's clear, it seemed pretty clear to me that she grew up.
01:11:02
Speaker 2: He was abusive to her.
01:11:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, he was abusive to her and she sort of had this Stockholm Syndrome... as well and then she just kind of went along with it I was just thinking about Ghislaine it was like he's the Ghislaine of this whole of Epstein instead of just in this situation as a daughter where she was just bringing people I.
01:11:23
Speaker 2: Was like who Ghislaine I had to learn to I used to call her Ghislaine.
01:11:29
Speaker 3: Yeah but she weren't shit either no she wasn't oh and then the way she just turned into a victim so Quickly. Easily in and out, bro. He's like, oh my God, she's in there. Oh my God, I hated every last one of those. I hated Ed too because he was that white cop privilege arrogance.
01:11:53
Speaker 2: What did y'all think of the reveal of what actually happened that night between Isabel and the men and what actually happened.
01:12:01
Speaker 1: To her and why she died? That Catherine was the one that killed her? I'm trying to think.
01:12:09
Speaker 2: You ain't shit.
01:12:10
Speaker 1: I told her. Yeah. It was weird.
01:12:16
Speaker 2: It was weird. I feel like this scene should have hit harder.
01:12:20
Speaker 1: It should have. The reveal should have been better. Yeah.
01:12:24
Speaker 2: They set up for it, and they stationed it, and then it just didn't hit. I didn't like it. It didn't feel emotional. I didn't like it. I didn't think we needed this as anything.
01:12:34
Speaker 1: We didn't need this at all, honestly. Yeah, there was already bad people.
01:12:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, we didn't need this. Like he hit you while you were still bleeding from getting burnt? I don't know. It just seemed like overkill and it just didn't have the heavy hit the way that they thought it would. I think they were hoping we would be more empathetic to Catherine at this point. We were already good with Catherine. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. But I think they think we were over it. Like we were supposed to be really empathizing with her. That we were supposed to feel sorry that this happened. And it's like it does suck, but it doesn't suck to the point where it changed. Like it's a gut punch for me. But yeah. They rush in. Basically, he dies. Jay Easton dies. But we also learn that basically Catherine says, I know you got a secret. And she knows that Alice basically killed him. Did this hit at all? Did this work for y'all at least? Or did you already suspect that she did this in that moment?
01:13:32
Speaker 1: I did. Only because.
01:13:37
Speaker 3: I rewound it because I was listening to it and watching it, and then I kind of walked off, but I had headphones on so I could hear it.
01:13:44
Speaker 1: And then I heard he stopped breathing, and she was like, oh, are you okay? I was like, wait, did she kill this motherfucker? And then I went back and rewound it, and I didn't see it.
01:13:53
Speaker 3: I was like, man, it's so weird. So, yeah, and then it just kind of confirmed it later because.
01:13:57
Speaker 1: It just happened so fast. I was like, you're the movie star, and then he just couldn't breathe. I'm like, all right. Yeah, that's weird. I don't know what happened, but something happened. Yeah, I thought she did that shit. I thought she did that shit. Yeah.
01:14:10
Speaker 2: So, yeah, when she revealed it, I mean, I guess it was more shocking that Catherine knew than me knowing that she did it.
01:14:19
Speaker 1: Like, I knew she did it. I was like, oh, Catherine knows.
01:14:21
Speaker 2: That's all that was the most revealing part about it other than that.
01:14:25
Speaker 1: But, yeah, that's pretty much it.
01:14:27
Speaker 2: That's pretty much it, man.
01:14:28
Speaker 1: I can't believe they're doing a season two. I can't do that. No, there should be no reason. Yeah.
01:14:33
Speaker 3: But the ending, how did it feel? Her not answering. I was like, nah, they can't be. I was like, nah, in a way, because there's no other story to tell, really. But because unless they're going to be like these partners in crime between the two. But I will say I love Nora was like, well, why don't I ever fuck you? She was like, well. Maybe I'll fuck you later in the future.
01:14:57
Speaker 1: I did, Mike. That was funny. She was talking.
01:15:00
Speaker 2: That was funny.
01:15:01
Speaker 1: She was funny. Yeah, she was good.
01:15:04
Speaker 3: And the other thing, it was kind of weird that they put all this shit in here. It was like, yeah, you don't look like an FBI agent. And she was like, what does that mean? And then there was like the floor shirt and all that other stuff. I need everybody to show ID and stuff.
01:15:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, but anyway. I mean, overall, I enjoyed it. I think I enjoyed it.
01:15:22
Speaker 2: Yeah. I think I'm probably enjoying the message and more and more. I talked to y'all about it. Um, that's, that's one of the main, especially it made me think about abuse a lot more. Um, so I think that's what I enjoy the most about it. But like y'all, I don't need a season two. Um, if the season, when season two does come out, I'll probably wait till it's overweight to decide off the first two episodes. I'm gonna continue watching it. But, um, yeah, that's it, man. That's all we got for it. Uh, Make sure to go join the Reddit thread at FPS Podcast. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter and become a patron. We got a lot of exclusive stuff over there. 01:16:02
