This week on the Empowering Industry Podcast, Charli sits down with ABB’s Courtney Pickett and Stefanie Casimir to discuss the upcoming 2027 DOE motor efficiency regulations and what manufacturers, facilities, and equipment operators need to do now to prepare.
Courtney Pickett is a Product Specialist in ABB’s NEMA Motors division, supporting the Fluid Dynamics and Heavy Industrial Solutions business line and severe-duty motor portfolio. With a background in mechanical engineering and an MBA, she connects customer needs with technical innovation across product lifecycle management, new product development, and market strategy.
Stefanie Casimir is a B2B product marketing and strategy professional with more than 20 years experience across motors, mechanical power transmission and industrial applications. Her work focuses on translating complex technologies into clear market value across applications including pumps, fans, conveyors - into industry segments ranging from food processing, wastewater treatment, mining and data centers. With a background spanning product launches, voice-of-customer research, global marketing and go-to-market strategy, Stefanie brings a deep understanding of how critical components support reliability, efficiency and performance across the industries that keep the world moving.
Courtney and Stefanie explain which motors will be affected, how new efficiency requirements may change frame sizes and electrical characteristics, and why facilities should begin auditing their installed motor base now. They also discuss supply chain planning, total system efficiency, and the opportunities these changes create to reduce energy use and operating costs.
