Richard Chew is joined by Mike Nellis, Democratic strategist and host of “Endless Urgency with Mike Nellis.”
Summary
- Nellis addresses an ongoing investigation by the Department of Justice and the House Judiciary Committee into his digital fundraising firm. He says these investigations are politically motivated harassment stemming from Laura Loomer-created conspiracy theories regarding a judge in the Trump fraud case.
- He reports facing death threats, including one that required the Chicago Police Department to protect his home.
- The discussion touches on the need for a more aggressive Attorney General to address perceived corruption within high-level political circles.
- Chew and Nellis emphasize the necessity of Democratic unity during the upcoming election cycle. They argue that internal disputes following primaries should be set aside to focus on general election victories.
- Nellis criticizes "naysayers" and individuals who seek media attention by criticizing their own party.
- He announces his transition into a formal leadership role within Chicago's political structure; he will be taking over as the committeeman for Ward 32, succeeding Ald. Scott Waguespack.
