Speaker 1: Bloomberg Audio Studios, podcasts, radio News.
00:00:10
Speaker 2: This is the closing bell on this stock movers report the company's making moves at the close of US trading with Carol Masser, Tim Stenebeck, Romain Bostik, and Katie Greifel.
00:00:22
Speaker 1: Well, let's get to some of the stocks that moved and got our attention today. I want to start with the gainers. Core We've shared finished the day up by more than ten percent. This after Anthropic agreed to tap data center capacity from the Neo Cloud to handle increasing demand for its AI services. It's a multi year deal. It'll help Anthropic build and deploy its clawed AI models and includes a variety of Nvidia chip architectures at data centers in the US. So Core, We've now counts four of the largest AI model makers, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and Meta as customers. That's according to the company's CEO. Also, I wanted to talk a little bit about one of the big gainers. Organon and Co. Shares climb today twenty eight percent. It was the most intra day on record. The Economic Times reported that Sun Pharmaceutical is set to make a twelve billion dollar offer for the women's health company Sun Pharmaceutical said the report was quote speculative, but that still didn't cause shares to move away from those highs. Organ On surge close to eighteen percent for its best day on recording yesterday. Sunfarm has completed detailed due diligence that lasted over three months and is now finalizing a financing package before submitting a firm offer in the coming weeks. That's according to the Economic.
00:01:35
Speaker 3: Tim Do you know the best part about organ one?
00:01:37
Speaker 1: I don't.
00:01:38
Speaker 3: They are headquartered in Jersey City, you know what's so funny?
00:01:40
Speaker 1: I was actually just gonna say, you know what the best part about core Weave.
00:01:43
Speaker 3: Is they're based in Livings and they're down the load from where I live. This is a New Jersey. I don't know what the third company where convaults based.
00:01:49
Speaker 1: Com Vault is in the Midwest. Oh well, sorry, throughout three ain't bad? Yeah, I for a song about it, com Valt Systems. I'm sorry, guys, but it's okay. You know you guys are both in New Jersey too.
00:01:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to see. You know what the best thing about Jersey City is?
00:02:01
Speaker 5: What is it?
00:02:02
Speaker 4: It's right next to Hobook in New Jersey.
00:02:05
Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on. Let's see what Combol Systems did there. It is more than ten percent today. It's the data management software company. It's exploring a sale after receiving takeover interest from multiple parties. This is according to Reuters, who cited four undidentified people who are familiar with the matter. CVLT is the ticker. I just want to double check and make sure it's not in New Jersey.
00:02:26
Speaker 4: Guys, Yeah, please, it is in New Jersey.
00:02:28
Speaker 3: Way, it's in New Jersey, Tim, When are you moving to New Jersey? I had it wrong.
00:02:33
Speaker 1: I can't believe I was looking at a different.
00:02:35
Speaker 3: Company earlier Jerseys, kind of in the Midwest.
00:02:39
Speaker 1: I didn't even mean to do this the midwest of New Jersey. I guess you could say, okay and let me take it away, all right.
00:02:46
Speaker 5: I haven't researched where any of my decliners are headquartered.
00:02:50
Speaker 4: So I owe those are for that. But let's take a look.
00:02:54
Speaker 5: At fair Isaac, also known as fi Go, falling as much as fifteen percent today, the most since July and hitting the lowest level since November twenty twenty three, and list on Wall Street pointing to a recent Housing Wire podcast with the CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association, where the exec discussed measures to help home purchase affordability, including increasing credit score bureau competition and also calling for modernizing credit reporting and allowing market forces to prevail. So that weighing on shares of that stock. Maybe the company's headquartered in Intersey.
00:03:27
Speaker 4: It's actually headquartered in Montana, Montana.
00:03:30
Speaker 3: Curious?
00:03:31
Speaker 5: Okay, all right, thank you Katie for that.
00:03:33
Speaker 4: What's next?
00:03:34
Speaker 5: I'm also watching Service Now. Those shares down eight percent to close out this Friday, extending a recent sell off as UBS downgrades the company to neutral from buy. This is actually a four straight day of declines for Service Now has lost about nineteen percent just in this week, and the shares now trading at the lowest level since twenty twenty three. Coreweve was higher, Service Now is down. Service Now more of a software name again, that trade ripple through the market of these companies that can be vulnerable to an AI disruption. That kind of still percolating here for Service Now, and then finally simply good foods. I feel like we're all all of us here are protein maxers.
00:04:14
Speaker 4: We all like protein right on protein? Actually, Billy, are you huge on a protein? I?
00:04:19
Speaker 3: Don't max anything. Okay, but but I yeah, protein, I prefer protein. But I get confused when max is spelled incorrectly, if don at the end of anything.
00:04:26
Speaker 1: So if we couldn't like Bailey Lipschultz anymore, the man who doesn't max anything, I love that.
00:04:31
Speaker 5: Yeah. Well, it's protein's tough because sometimes when you package it into food, it doesn't taste great, and it feels more of like a chore than like a pleasure of eating it.
00:04:41
Speaker 4: That's true.
00:04:42
Speaker 5: I won't comment on any specific protein bars that I prefer, but we are watching shares of simply good foods down, finishing the day down about twelve percent. They're the maker of Atkins and Quest food products, and they specifically.
00:04:55
Speaker 4: Okay you do, I do.
00:04:56
Speaker 5: Sorry, Well, they said that they're slower cored or over quarter, Quest consumption was affected by slower base velocity in chips and bars. They slashed their annual forecast for the second quarter, falling short of Wall Street expectations.
00:05:10
Speaker 3: According to the DS page, they're based in Colorado, so just a small sample size stocks that are upper based in New Jersey.
00:05:17
Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you.
00:05:18
Speaker 6: So that's that's how I figured out today. I have to say you know, I'm huge on protein. It's super important. Apparently pregnant women are supposed to be getting like one hundred grams of protein a day, which I'm not doing.
00:05:29
Speaker 4: But fiber is also really important.
00:05:32
Speaker 7: And just want the audience to geography lessons and yeah, nutrition, nutrition, all right, the screen is telling me I should talk about yields right now, so let's do that, because we did see a sell off today.
00:05:43
Speaker 4: We got CPI data.
00:05:45
Speaker 6: This morning for the month of March, so it actually neatly encompassed what we've seen unfold in the Middle East so far. It was as expected, but I mean the rate of change, we haven't seen that in about four years when it comes to the monthly measure.
00:05:59
Speaker 4: But you can see we saw a bit of a selloff across the curve here, but we're within the.
00:06:03
Speaker 6: Ranges that we've been getting used to, though again compared to where we were at the end of February, sharply higher.
00:06:10
Speaker 1: You mentioned years, Katie. Something we've been talking about for years is the shortage of air traffic controllers, and the US government is out with the new campaign to try to attract people to the profession. There are there three thousand short of targeted, targeted staffing levels. They have about eleven thousand fully certified controllers. They're going after video gamers for the jobs of air traffic controllers. This campaign tells gamers they've been training to be controllers all along. The job offers average annual salaries of one hundred and fifty five thousand dollars after three years.
00:06:42
Speaker 5: Emily, the tagline of this campaign it's not a game, it's a career. And of course this isn't only a job, it's a really important one as we face those shortages of airline employees.
00:06:54
Speaker 1: So all that time that people, you know, parents said you're wasting time playing video games, you're actually preparing for or maybe becoming an air traffic controller.
00:07:02
Speaker 6: I mean, it's a smart pitch, especially when you consider how high pressure being an air traffic controller is. I mean, I'm not saying that certain video games are as high pressure obviously, but certainly if you love adrenaline, I think that those skills would map over. Let's quickly talk about what we're expecting though tonight. I guess this is related to air and space artemis too. The mission it's going to splash down in the Pacific Ocean. This evening, we're going to see the crew caps will take a really fiery plunge through the planet's atmosphere before eventually splashing down. This was the ten day lunar flyby, and now we're welcoming these astronauts back home and Bloomberg TENI is actually going to have special coverage of the splash down. I believe that starts at eight pm Eastern and I actually think I'm going to be watching.
00:07:48
Speaker 4: I'll be on my couch.
00:07:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, this has been really cool thing to just track as someone who enjoys talking about space and space movies, but really seeing in real time.
00:07:56
Speaker 1: TAM, it's really cool. I was able to watch the launch with my kids, plan to watch the splash down with them tonight as well, so we are looking forward to that.
