Deep Dive into Matthew Poole’s Commentary on the Holy Bible, Volumes 1–3 - Psalm 10
Matthew Poole’s commentary on Psalm 10 explores David’s lament over the arrogant and deceitful actions of malicious oppressors who prey on the vulnerable while denying divine oversight. The text highlights how these wrongdoers wrongly assume that God ignores human behavior and will never punish wrongdoing, leading them to act with total impunity. In response, the author details David's pleas for divine intervention, emphasizing that the Creator ultimately observes all injustices and acts as a reliable protector for the helpless. Furthermore, the commentary underscores the eternal sovereignty of God, noting that earthly tyrants will ultimately be stopped and the desires of the humble will be heard.
