BU BÖLÜM HAKKINDA
In this episode of Realty Bites, Tim Gossage sits down with Daniel-Paul Filippi from The Agency for a fascinating conversation about career change, property, and the realities of Perth’s real estate market.
Before becoming a respected name in project marketing and real estate, Daniel spent 15 years in the WA Police Force, including time in a Protective Services Counter-Terrorist Unit. In this episode, he reflects on how that high-pressure background shaped the way he now approaches negotiation, trust, communication, and dealing with people in one of life’s biggest financial decisions.
Daniel opens up about his early days investing in property while still working in policing, the lessons he learned from both wins and mistakes, and how those experiences naturally led him into a career in real estate. He also breaks down the world of projects and off-the-plan developments, explaining what really happens behind the scenes — from land acquisition and design, through to pricing, buyer demand, funding, and what separates a successful development from one that never gets built.
The conversation also explores Perth’s evolving property market, the growing need for housing diversity, why Daniel believes apartments and high-rise living have an important role to play, and the common misconceptions buyers have when it comes to development and future planning.
It’s a thoughtful, honest and highly insightful chat covering:
- Daniel’s move from policing to property
- The people skills that carry across both industries
- Early lessons in property investing and development
- What project marketing actually involves
- Why some developments succeed and others fail
- The reality of Perth’s apartment and housing market
- Transparency, trust and long-term thinking in real estate
- Balancing a demanding career with family life
Whether you work in real estate, invest in property, or simply want to better understand the people and thinking behind the industry, this episode offers plenty of value.
