The Let's Go Devil's network.
14
00:00:55.079 --> 00:01:01.600
As the Devils are a five two games in to them.
15
00:01:03.240 --> 00:01:09.680
Yep, yeah, that's good perspective. Yeah, ten game wordmark, right,
16
00:01:09.760 --> 00:01:10.599
is that what we have to get to?
17
00:01:10.879 --> 00:01:13.640
They're gonna get and they're gonna go nuts on Reddit
18
00:01:13.879 --> 00:01:15.640
after that statement, they're gonna say.
19
00:01:16.879 --> 00:01:18.840
Who knows nothing about hockey?
20
00:01:18.920 --> 00:01:23.000
He said they're five hundred after two games and Deadanov's
21
00:01:23.040 --> 00:01:26.280
on I R and Helen and is called up.
22
00:01:26.840 --> 00:01:28.799
That's all he ever says.
23
00:01:30.280 --> 00:01:34.760
Yeah, that is all you say, Yeah, right, pretty much usually, Yeah,
24
00:01:34.920 --> 00:01:35.599
that's about it.
25
00:01:36.239 --> 00:01:39.239
Sam's gone. I was actually gonna ask him Sam real
26
00:01:39.319 --> 00:01:43.439
quick ah non hockey question. How are you feeling about
27
00:01:43.480 --> 00:01:44.920
Penn State football right now? Bud?
28
00:01:45.760 --> 00:01:48.480
All right, if you want my honest opinion, I'm not
29
00:01:49.120 --> 00:01:54.599
I'm not celebrating. I'm not celebrating the fact of the firing.
30
00:01:54.680 --> 00:01:55.640
It hadn't been done.
31
00:01:55.879 --> 00:01:59.319
I know a lot of fans are celebrating, But James
32
00:01:59.359 --> 00:02:05.280
Franklin came to a school that was in turmoil beyond belief.
33
00:02:06.480 --> 00:02:10.240
And now I hear myself from the background, are you
34
00:02:10.280 --> 00:02:16.159
in the time of sin? That's so to be honest
35
00:02:16.159 --> 00:02:20.240
with you, uh, I'm not happy about the firing, but
36
00:02:20.319 --> 00:02:23.360
I understand why it was done. I mean, Penn State
37
00:02:23.400 --> 00:02:27.039
football pretty has more money than half of the NFL
38
00:02:27.080 --> 00:02:32.159
team's owners. It is there's a high expectation there and
39
00:02:33.039 --> 00:02:35.840
it's amazing how losing three games.
40
00:02:35.479 --> 00:02:36.280
In a row.
41
00:02:37.879 --> 00:02:40.840
And not by much. But they should have blown out Northwestern,
42
00:02:40.879 --> 00:02:42.439
they should have blown out u c l A. But
43
00:02:42.479 --> 00:02:44.400
it seems like U c l A has got it
44
00:02:44.439 --> 00:02:45.439
going on right now.
45
00:02:46.680 --> 00:02:50.199
I just I just don't like the fact that it's
46
00:02:50.280 --> 00:02:51.360
a sad Hulk music.
47
00:02:52.520 --> 00:02:55.719
Yeah, I was waiting for the dramatic, like a.
48
00:02:55.840 --> 00:02:57.120
Sad Hulk music. Wu.
49
00:02:57.840 --> 00:02:59.960
Sam just up the whole.
50
00:02:59.759 --> 00:03:03.159
Scre oh I could do that if you want, Yeah,
51
00:03:03.240 --> 00:03:05.639
do it, do it all right, all right, give me,
52
00:03:05.639 --> 00:03:09.080
all right, give me one second. I'm gonna go full
53
00:03:09.120 --> 00:03:09.840
screen here.
54
00:03:10.240 --> 00:03:10.680
All right.
55
00:03:11.039 --> 00:03:14.159
I'm not notice I'm not wearing my Penn State hat
56
00:03:14.199 --> 00:03:14.560
because of.
57
00:03:16.360 --> 00:03:20.479
Get a little shame. But I mean, I just can't
58
00:03:20.479 --> 00:03:21.039
believe it.
59
00:03:22.439 --> 00:03:25.879
When I was seven years old, that was the last
60
00:03:25.919 --> 00:03:30.639
time Penn State football won a national championship.
61
00:03:30.879 --> 00:03:34.520
I said, that's my team. After I said the Mets,
62
00:03:35.159 --> 00:03:39.800
that's my team. When they won the eighty six World Series,
63
00:03:39.960 --> 00:03:42.039
the Giants winning the Super.
64
00:03:41.759 --> 00:03:46.560
Bowl, that's my team. They got me leaves three others afterwards.
65
00:03:47.080 --> 00:03:50.520
But Penn State, what have you done for me lately? Nothing?
66
00:03:51.639 --> 00:04:02.800
Just all this hope and uh no championship disappointment every year?
67
00:04:06.639 --> 00:04:09.520
Disappointment is that it? But you ran out, you God
68
00:04:09.560 --> 00:04:10.800
to run out of team there at Tiger.
69
00:04:10.879 --> 00:04:11.439
Yeah, I thought you.
70
00:04:11.520 --> 00:04:13.280
I thought you were gonna go like But we have
71
00:04:13.360 --> 00:04:15.520
Gavin McKenna Penn State hockey.
72
00:04:15.560 --> 00:04:18.759
We have Gavin McKenna, but he's probably gonna be a
73
00:04:18.759 --> 00:04:19.639
disappointment too.
74
00:04:20.519 --> 00:04:23.639
So I can see it now in the Frozen four,
75
00:04:24.199 --> 00:04:28.519
the national Championship, Penn State versus Whoever, and Penn.
76
00:04:28.279 --> 00:04:33.279
State sacred and over time, sacred Heart, sacred Heart.
77
00:04:34.360 --> 00:04:38.319
You really think sacred Heart, You're just like Colbosas and Rutgers, like,
78
00:04:38.399 --> 00:04:41.319
come on, come on, not even close?
79
00:04:42.920 --> 00:04:44.519
Hey for two and o, two and oh in the
80
00:04:44.560 --> 00:04:48.079
opening weekends, but who'd you play seven goals for one
81
00:04:48.120 --> 00:04:49.199
goal against.
82
00:04:49.560 --> 00:04:55.120
Anyway, Adam, it is well back to hockey, So sorry
83
00:04:55.160 --> 00:04:55.839
about that, everybody.
84
00:04:55.920 --> 00:04:58.839
No, no, no, no, Bud, you you get like a double
85
00:04:58.920 --> 00:05:02.439
minor there for asking Sam Will about Penn State football.
86
00:05:02.519 --> 00:05:04.759
You're you're in the You're in the frigging box, dude,
87
00:05:04.759 --> 00:05:06.000
for that serious.
88
00:05:06.519 --> 00:05:09.399
Somebody had to do it. Somebody had to do it.
89
00:05:08.720 --> 00:05:13.600
It's gonna happen now we're closing final thoughts. Yeah, but
90
00:05:13.639 --> 00:05:15.199
I'd rather get it over with now so not have
91
00:05:15.199 --> 00:05:15.959
to listen to it later.
92
00:05:16.000 --> 00:05:17.079
And because we're.
93
00:05:16.920 --> 00:05:18.519
Gonna wrap it, We're gonna wrap this. He gets it
94
00:05:18.560 --> 00:05:21.600
at the beginning of the show, good oh boy, look out.
95
00:05:21.920 --> 00:05:26.399
And I loved how he had his doing his little
96
00:05:26.439 --> 00:05:29.879
kid voice ductail tail. That was a nice touch.
97
00:05:30.879 --> 00:05:35.199
This is my team. This is almost it almost sounded
98
00:05:35.240 --> 00:05:37.759
like Sam's a Bandwagon fan. As soon as they win.
99
00:05:37.639 --> 00:05:40.639
He's you bring up a great point.
100
00:05:41.439 --> 00:05:45.680
Yeah, that team just won that's my team.
101
00:05:44.160 --> 00:05:48.560
That's my team.
102
00:05:50.240 --> 00:05:58.480
Vinnychester Verdi, that's my team. Yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep. Uh,
103
00:05:58.720 --> 00:06:03.480
well boys, for one one is conduct on you my friend?
104
00:06:03.600 --> 00:06:06.000
Yeah yeah, but you know what, at least we're not
105
00:06:06.120 --> 00:06:06.759
Jet fans.
106
00:06:07.720 --> 00:06:11.480
Yeah, good Ward, you go all the way to England.
107
00:06:11.560 --> 00:06:14.279
Just suck even worse than you do in the United States.
108
00:06:14.319 --> 00:06:14.959
It's horrible.
109
00:06:15.120 --> 00:06:17.720
Oh my gosh, I h I saw this thing where
110
00:06:17.720 --> 00:06:20.360
it said, uh, the Jets Broncos game is the worst
111
00:06:20.360 --> 00:06:23.279
thing America has done to the British since seventeen seventy six.
112
00:06:24.839 --> 00:06:27.160
That's wonderful, that's wonderful.
113
00:06:29.920 --> 00:06:33.199
Well, we had some we had some pretty stellar hockey
114
00:06:33.199 --> 00:06:35.040
played yesterday.
115
00:06:35.399 --> 00:06:38.120
I gotta say, oh yeah.
116
00:06:37.199 --> 00:06:41.800
With this team that look, now you know what was
117
00:06:41.879 --> 00:06:44.560
what was my what was my go to? My final thought?
118
00:06:44.600 --> 00:06:47.199
The other stay healthy and we already have Dan and
119
00:06:47.279 --> 00:06:50.199
Off on the on the I R with a fractured hand.
120
00:06:50.279 --> 00:06:54.920
So yeah, Brian Hallanan getting called up, really hoping to
121
00:06:54.920 --> 00:06:57.920
see the chance. But Hallenan's been around for a while,
122
00:06:58.000 --> 00:07:01.160
so he'll get He'll get his shot here to uh
123
00:07:01.800 --> 00:07:05.319
mesh in with the team. I'm gonna assume McEwan goes
124
00:07:05.360 --> 00:07:06.639
into like that extra.
125
00:07:06.920 --> 00:07:10.199
You know role, but he he played, he played rather.
126
00:07:10.360 --> 00:07:13.720
I mean we're used to Big Mac and obviously the
127
00:07:13.839 --> 00:07:17.120
Sheldon keeper system and Big and Big Mac where they
128
00:07:17.120 --> 00:07:19.079
were not they were not They're not a good match,
129
00:07:19.279 --> 00:07:21.040
you know that that system in Big Mac.
130
00:07:21.120 --> 00:07:24.279
That Yeah, every time he got.
131
00:07:24.079 --> 00:07:26.439
On the ice, it like he looked like he was
132
00:07:26.480 --> 00:07:28.199
like looking at them like, should I get off the
133
00:07:28.199 --> 00:07:29.639
ice now I've been on for two seconds?
134
00:07:29.839 --> 00:07:33.199
I get off? Mind change line, change line, change, dump
135
00:07:33.240 --> 00:07:34.800
and change, dump and change.
136
00:07:37.040 --> 00:07:39.920
He was like, I don't know if I'm supposed to
137
00:07:39.959 --> 00:07:42.439
be here whenever, what position am I supposed to be in?
138
00:07:43.120 --> 00:07:47.160
So hopefully uh McEwan though he is a center, and
139
00:07:47.240 --> 00:07:49.319
you know he could take some face offs every now
140
00:07:49.319 --> 00:07:52.600
and then, and he showed a pretty good, you know,
141
00:07:52.680 --> 00:07:53.319
pretty good.
142
00:07:53.199 --> 00:07:53.920
Game the other day.
143
00:07:54.759 --> 00:07:57.680
But that'll be that'll be the thing now is these
144
00:07:57.720 --> 00:08:02.720
lines are getting altered and and again the Devils, you know,
145
00:08:02.800 --> 00:08:04.959
fight through these injuries again, but holy hell, did they
146
00:08:05.000 --> 00:08:08.199
look good against Tampa Bay the Canes game. We now,
147
00:08:09.199 --> 00:08:12.839
they can't win in Carolina for whatever reason, but in
148
00:08:12.879 --> 00:08:14.560
Tampa Bay, it's like, hey, this is the team and
149
00:08:14.600 --> 00:08:17.439
Alsome's game one. So we'll comes with slack. But I mean, like,
150
00:08:18.000 --> 00:08:21.800
but like in Tampa Bay, man that first period, they
151
00:08:21.800 --> 00:08:24.720
came out blazing, you know, like and last year we
152
00:08:24.759 --> 00:08:27.879
saw them sleepwalk through the first period most times. But
153
00:08:28.079 --> 00:08:32.080
this three goals, all five on five, no power play goals.
154
00:08:32.279 --> 00:08:34.919
By the way, the interesting stat from last year is
155
00:08:34.960 --> 00:08:36.919
that they were in the bottom of the league in
156
00:08:37.080 --> 00:08:39.399
goals in the first period. So yeah, you're one hundred
157
00:08:39.399 --> 00:08:42.639
percent right. Scoring three five on five goals in the
158
00:08:42.679 --> 00:08:45.240
first period was nice. I think they let their foot
159
00:08:45.279 --> 00:08:47.600
off the gas a little bit and let Tampa Bay
160
00:08:47.679 --> 00:08:50.559
kind of sneak close into that game where it felt
161
00:08:50.600 --> 00:08:52.360
like they had full control in the first period, and
162
00:08:52.399 --> 00:08:56.639
then you know, you can't. Tampa Bay might be, you know,
163
00:08:56.720 --> 00:08:58.279
a little bit on the older side of things, but
164
00:08:58.320 --> 00:09:00.519
they're still freaking Tampa Bay. They could will hurt you.
165
00:09:00.519 --> 00:09:02.399
They were gonna CounterPunch coming out.
166
00:09:02.519 --> 00:09:05.879
They were, but I mean, at this, you know, they
167
00:09:06.000 --> 00:09:12.279
they weathered the storm pun intended and uh and they yeah,
168
00:09:12.679 --> 00:09:14.320
and then they came out with the dub. But like,
169
00:09:14.960 --> 00:09:18.240
there were so many great things that happened in that game,
170
00:09:18.279 --> 00:09:21.519
and one of them Jasper Brad My god, my god,
171
00:09:22.000 --> 00:09:24.399
I know, listen, our good friend the Brat pack and
172
00:09:24.519 --> 00:09:27.039
wax poetic about him, and he's he's got every right
173
00:09:27.120 --> 00:09:30.399
to because that dude. Every year you're like, I think
174
00:09:30.440 --> 00:09:32.559
Brat's kind of hit his plateau, and then he does
175
00:09:32.559 --> 00:09:35.120
something where you're like, no, no, no, this dude, he just
176
00:09:35.279 --> 00:09:38.320
he raises his bar every year. And if this is
177
00:09:38.320 --> 00:09:40.240
the type of performance you're going to get out of
178
00:09:40.240 --> 00:09:42.519
Brader for the rest of the season, it's, uh, it's
179
00:09:42.559 --> 00:09:45.960
it's gonna be nice. But dude, it's as well. The
180
00:09:45.960 --> 00:09:50.440
first game, like, like you said that first game, like Carolina, listen,
181
00:09:50.519 --> 00:09:53.080
Carolina's got her number right now. And and Dougie Hamilton
182
00:09:53.120 --> 00:09:55.480
even said after the game, like, we have to figure
183
00:09:55.480 --> 00:09:57.000
out a way to win in this building if we're
184
00:09:57.039 --> 00:09:59.559
going to do anything this season. Yeah, and he's and
185
00:09:59.600 --> 00:10:03.159
he's right. They were on top of them all freaking game,
186
00:10:03.519 --> 00:10:07.039
all freaking game. So it was a great bounce back
187
00:10:07.080 --> 00:10:10.399
when you know, get into the w column and then
188
00:10:10.399 --> 00:10:12.080
and get the season started off right.
189
00:10:13.039 --> 00:10:16.120
And see the boys stick up for each other to love. Say, dude,
190
00:10:16.120 --> 00:10:19.159
I said on Devil's After Dark, I think we're finally
191
00:10:19.200 --> 00:10:21.679
going to really see like the Nico Hescher drop of
192
00:10:21.720 --> 00:10:24.120
the gloves this year. You know him coming back. You know,
193
00:10:24.240 --> 00:10:26.919
he's like Swiss Hulk now, you know, like coming in
194
00:10:26.960 --> 00:10:29.159
and so I I just have this feeling they're just
195
00:10:29.240 --> 00:10:35.879
this this this extra edge to his game. Yeah, but
196
00:10:36.000 --> 00:10:38.919
he was right in there, man, and like I loved it.
197
00:10:39.039 --> 00:10:45.320
So strong game from him, gritz Yuk that passed to Connor,
198
00:10:45.600 --> 00:10:51.919
Connor Brown getting two goals like this, Connor Brown, this
199
00:10:52.080 --> 00:10:55.159
is exactly what the Devils need. And Timo Meyer also
200
00:10:55.200 --> 00:10:58.399
scoring too, which is we know he can be streaky,
201
00:10:59.000 --> 00:11:01.320
but last year, you know, it took him a while
202
00:11:01.360 --> 00:11:04.000
to get on that that goals goals going you know,
203
00:11:04.120 --> 00:11:06.879
on the on the goal sheet and everything a score
204
00:11:06.919 --> 00:11:10.200
sheet on the goal column rather and for him to
205
00:11:10.200 --> 00:11:13.559
get one in the second game, it's like he's already
206
00:11:13.559 --> 00:11:17.320
broken through. Let him go now, like he'll be you know,
207
00:11:17.480 --> 00:11:19.639
let's let's have him rattle them off here and get
208
00:11:19.639 --> 00:11:22.159
some confidence and getting back to being that team. But
209
00:11:22.200 --> 00:11:24.480
he was everywhere physically too.
210
00:11:24.840 --> 00:11:27.600
Loved Yeah, shorts, shorts guy. I get a question for
211
00:11:27.600 --> 00:11:28.840
you though, because I know there are a lot of
212
00:11:28.879 --> 00:11:31.240
people that were freaking out after that first game with
213
00:11:31.320 --> 00:11:34.039
MARKI what is your what is your kind of like
214
00:11:34.159 --> 00:11:38.639
perception of like a first game of the season having
215
00:11:38.639 --> 00:11:41.440
to sit through like a home team's like, you know,
216
00:11:42.799 --> 00:11:48.559
opening stuff that they do. Like, do you think that
217
00:11:48.799 --> 00:11:53.080
was an overreaction? It's I mean, it's the Devil's Internet hockey,
218
00:11:53.159 --> 00:11:55.200
So yes, it's always an over Yeah.
219
00:11:55.039 --> 00:12:00.279
I know, I know. Well, I mean that that that
220
00:12:00.360 --> 00:12:04.279
first game on Thursday looked like a first game, uh.
221
00:12:04.960 --> 00:12:09.000
And it was sloppy, and you could definitely tell that
222
00:12:09.080 --> 00:12:11.840
a lot of these guys, you know, haven't really played
223
00:12:11.840 --> 00:12:14.600
together too much. You know, Markstrom didn't get a ton
224
00:12:14.679 --> 00:12:17.519
of time in preseason, so when you you know, after
225
00:12:17.600 --> 00:12:21.399
not playing for a while, it's it's it's tough to
226
00:12:21.399 --> 00:12:23.320
get into the swing of things. And I'm I'm looking
227
00:12:23.320 --> 00:12:25.360
at I was just looking at the goals from last
228
00:12:25.440 --> 00:12:30.759
night and I'm going through the goals from uh, from Thursday.
229
00:12:31.120 --> 00:12:37.000
They were the goals on Thursday were just ugly, weird bounces, you.
230
00:12:36.960 --> 00:12:39.720
Know, gotten from the front point.
231
00:12:39.480 --> 00:12:42.919
From the point you know, I'm looking at the second one, now,
232
00:12:42.960 --> 00:12:44.799
there were there were some weird tips that went on
233
00:12:44.840 --> 00:12:48.960
in the first one. So that's that's a that's a
234
00:12:49.000 --> 00:12:52.679
tough first game. The second game last night, if you look,
235
00:12:52.799 --> 00:12:55.200
all three goals were up high, so I'm wondering if
236
00:12:55.240 --> 00:12:58.080
if maybe the the scouting report on Markstrom is to
237
00:12:58.080 --> 00:13:02.639
shoot high. And on top of that, you know they
238
00:13:02.720 --> 00:13:05.480
only got you know, the the Lightning didn't have very
239
00:13:05.519 --> 00:13:08.559
many shots throughout through the first two periods, and that's
240
00:13:09.120 --> 00:13:12.720
you know, that's difficult. It may not seem yeah, it
241
00:13:12.879 --> 00:13:16.440
may not seem like it should be that difficult, but
242
00:13:16.480 --> 00:13:19.799
it is. It sucks because you're you're cold, you're cold,
243
00:13:19.840 --> 00:13:23.360
you're cold, and then you have a breakaway. There are
244
00:13:23.399 --> 00:13:25.200
definitely some things that I think mark Strom has to
245
00:13:25.240 --> 00:13:27.519
tighten up. But at the same time, it's okay, it's
246
00:13:27.559 --> 00:13:33.200
game two. Yeah, he's everyone looks kind of sloppy, So
247
00:13:33.600 --> 00:13:38.039
I'm really not surprised. You know, it's Brooke and I
248
00:13:38.039 --> 00:13:40.600
we brainstorming some things last night, like maybe the final
249
00:13:40.639 --> 00:13:46.440
preseason game happens after your rosters are set. Yeah, rights,
250
00:13:47.559 --> 00:13:50.080
your roster is set, and then the final preseason game
251
00:13:50.159 --> 00:13:53.759
so your starters can actually get a game together instead
252
00:13:53.759 --> 00:13:56.720
of Game one looking like crap like it did, so
253
00:13:56.840 --> 00:13:58.600
that you know, you look at game you know, you
254
00:13:58.679 --> 00:14:01.000
come out like you like we did Game two hopefully,
255
00:14:02.080 --> 00:14:06.159
but uh, I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna take it as
256
00:14:06.320 --> 00:14:09.480
I'm gonna look at Marksham in the you know, after
257
00:14:09.519 --> 00:14:12.279
the first ten games, you know, yeah, and you know
258
00:14:12.320 --> 00:14:15.480
improves see if he improves a pie.
259
00:14:15.679 --> 00:14:18.919
Yeah, and that that six to three final in game
260
00:14:18.960 --> 00:14:22.519
one is also it's it's a little bit it's not
261
00:14:23.080 --> 00:14:25.320
indicative of the game because they had two empty net
262
00:14:25.399 --> 00:14:27.639
goals at the end of the game. And that's that's
263
00:14:27.720 --> 00:14:28.879
kind of like a thing too, Like a lot of
264
00:14:28.879 --> 00:14:31.519
people were six six goals and you're like, yeah, yeah,
265
00:14:32.200 --> 00:14:36.360
four with two empty netters, like four still a lot.
266
00:14:36.399 --> 00:14:37.919
Don't get me wrong, you don't want him letting up
267
00:14:37.919 --> 00:14:39.960
four all the time like that. That's not good. But
268
00:14:40.120 --> 00:14:42.480
like you said, first game of the season. But like
269
00:14:42.519 --> 00:14:43.519
people first.
270
00:14:45.039 --> 00:14:47.200
The first goal, it like, let's let's take a look
271
00:14:47.200 --> 00:14:49.120
at that first goal against for the season and the
272
00:14:49.159 --> 00:14:51.799
Taylor Hall goal that was going wide. He just happened
273
00:14:51.799 --> 00:14:55.120
to get a blade on it, and it completely fooled Markstrom,
274
00:14:55.399 --> 00:14:58.360
fooled everybody. You know, good on, Good on Taylor Hall.
275
00:14:58.399 --> 00:15:00.240
If he intended to make that tip and he got
276
00:15:00.240 --> 00:15:02.320
the stick on it, Good for you. That's tough. That's
277
00:15:02.320 --> 00:15:06.480
a real tough play. You know, those I'll tell you
278
00:15:06.519 --> 00:15:09.120
from experience. When those goals go in You're like, what
279
00:15:09.240 --> 00:15:12.279
the haff man Like, I thought I had it. I
280
00:15:12.320 --> 00:15:14.799
thought I had it tracked properly, and then it changes
281
00:15:14.919 --> 00:15:17.320
up on you. I like to see anyone that's out there,
282
00:15:17.480 --> 00:15:21.200
you know, carping and moaning, have a puck redirect in
283
00:15:21.200 --> 00:15:23.080
front of them, you know, three feet in front of him,
284
00:15:23.080 --> 00:15:26.039
and have the wherewithal to make a reaction in time
285
00:15:26.080 --> 00:15:31.320
to do anything. Yeah, it's it's Yeah, nothing was super
286
00:15:31.360 --> 00:15:34.440
egregious because it's games one and two. We'll see how
287
00:15:34.440 --> 00:15:38.759
tomorrow goes. We'll see how how Thursday goes, and then
288
00:15:38.840 --> 00:15:41.320
we'll re evaluate him after the first you know, ten
289
00:15:41.360 --> 00:15:43.879
games he plays, not the first ten games that the
290
00:15:43.919 --> 00:15:45.879
Devils have, because I'm sure Jake Allen's going to get
291
00:15:45.879 --> 00:15:47.960
in there at least twice in the first ten games,
292
00:15:47.960 --> 00:15:50.679
maybe three times, you know, then we'll see him and
293
00:15:50.759 --> 00:15:53.240
we'll be able to evaluate him. But I'm not worried
294
00:15:53.240 --> 00:15:55.399
about Markstrom yet at all.
295
00:15:57.000 --> 00:16:00.080
Yeah. No, I agree. It's just like that over the
296
00:16:00.120 --> 00:16:02.080
actually happens on the internet. It's like one of those
297
00:16:02.679 --> 00:16:06.200
it's like everybody needs to just relax, relax.
298
00:16:06.720 --> 00:16:07.080
Mm hmm.
299
00:16:07.240 --> 00:16:09.120
Look if this stuff is happening like ten to fifteen
300
00:16:09.120 --> 00:16:11.440
games in the season, then you're like, oh, we have
301
00:16:11.519 --> 00:16:13.279
something to worry about.
302
00:16:14.559 --> 00:16:16.879
Yeah, I mean it's yeah, I don't even I don't know.
303
00:16:16.919 --> 00:16:19.000
I don't even take this stuff, that stuff seriously, Like
304
00:16:19.039 --> 00:16:22.600
it's just it's just fluff, people being dumb, like it's
305
00:16:22.679 --> 00:16:27.039
game number one on the season, like chill if if
306
00:16:27.080 --> 00:16:29.519
you're if you're complaining like that, and you think you
307
00:16:29.559 --> 00:16:33.120
think mark Strom is like spent in game one, like
308
00:16:33.639 --> 00:16:36.919
m hm, you obviously don't know what you're talking about,
309
00:16:37.039 --> 00:16:38.200
so mm hmm.
310
00:16:38.279 --> 00:16:40.919
Yeah, And it just there's points in that game where
311
00:16:40.960 --> 00:16:46.519
Carolina was definitely the better team.
312
00:16:47.159 --> 00:16:51.639
Wenduck in Carolina, we really do. Yeah, we suck with
313
00:16:52.120 --> 00:16:54.840
like we it's no joke. We have to learn how
314
00:16:54.879 --> 00:16:56.879
to win there. If we want to get deep into playoffs,
315
00:16:56.879 --> 00:16:58.240
we're gonna have to go through Carolina.
316
00:16:58.679 --> 00:17:02.720
And it's eleven eleven, not one there, so that exactly
317
00:17:02.759 --> 00:17:03.600
eleventh streets.
318
00:17:03.799 --> 00:17:06.920
Yeah, it's like kryptonite for for the Devil's going down there.
319
00:17:06.960 --> 00:17:08.799
So they got to figure that out. But I just
320
00:17:08.799 --> 00:17:11.319
want to say this real quick, because I know the
321
00:17:11.359 --> 00:17:14.759
greatest hockey podcast producer in the world who never takes
322
00:17:14.759 --> 00:17:17.640
a shift off, Sam wu is the one who you
323
00:17:17.640 --> 00:17:21.680
know loves conspiracy theories. According to our friend Oh my Goodness,
324
00:17:21.759 --> 00:17:23.599
and by the way, hello to everyone on YouTube. I
325
00:17:23.599 --> 00:17:28.680
don't know if we've if we said that, Oh my
326
00:17:28.720 --> 00:17:33.720
Goodness is saying that Sam Wu's that's my team sounds
327
00:17:34.519 --> 00:17:39.000
eerily similar to Dawson Mercer asking for a beer and
328
00:17:39.039 --> 00:17:41.720
he's he's just throwing it out there that there might
329
00:17:41.720 --> 00:17:47.160
be a conspiracy, might be the same one, same, might
330
00:17:47.160 --> 00:17:50.079
be one in this Thank you, thank you, oh my goodness,
331
00:17:50.160 --> 00:17:53.119
and Tom Dermody for the uh pro tip over here.
332
00:17:53.119 --> 00:17:56.519
They need to add some grits to the porporole sandwich
333
00:17:57.039 --> 00:17:57.559
at the rock.
334
00:17:59.200 --> 00:18:01.559
Obviously, I need to make it so you don't get diarrhea.
335
00:18:01.680 --> 00:18:03.799
No, no, no, you mean Taylor Ham whatever.
336
00:18:03.920 --> 00:18:09.319
I'm reading the it's it's correct them.
337
00:18:09.680 --> 00:18:12.839
You got to read that like a teacher. When it's wrong,
338
00:18:14.160 --> 00:18:19.359
it's pork roll correct the Yeah, it's tailor him if
339
00:18:19.400 --> 00:18:21.079
it doesn't make you sick, but it is pork roll
340
00:18:21.079 --> 00:18:21.960
if it does make you sick.
341
00:18:24.359 --> 00:18:26.279
The other thing that makes me stick. The other thing
342
00:18:26.319 --> 00:18:27.839
that makes me stick is the fact that we have
343
00:18:27.920 --> 00:18:30.240
to have Andre plot in the first line again.
344
00:18:30.400 --> 00:18:35.559
And I know, listen, yeah, hold on, check in, hold on,
345
00:18:35.599 --> 00:18:38.240
hold on, hold on, let's check in, Sam. Have you
346
00:18:38.319 --> 00:18:42.240
venmoed the money for your andre pilot? Jersey? Sam? Can
347
00:18:42.279 --> 00:18:47.240
you can you conure or is it still down on
348
00:18:47.279 --> 00:18:50.279
the floor next to you? Probably on the floor if
349
00:18:50.279 --> 00:18:51.440
you gone off for a snack.
350
00:18:51.920 --> 00:18:54.519
I think probably in the bathroom or something like that.
351
00:18:54.599 --> 00:18:58.759
Right now, just you know, for.
352
00:19:00.039 --> 00:19:01.599
They're not gonna say anything.
353
00:19:01.759 --> 00:19:06.160
I'm gonna going pasting back and forth with its penn
354
00:19:06.160 --> 00:19:09.400
State helmet on. You can you do that? I can
355
00:19:09.680 --> 00:19:14.720
just punching himself in the head? Come on, h Yeah, listen.
356
00:19:15.400 --> 00:19:19.720
I'm not a huge fan oft being being on the
357
00:19:19.799 --> 00:19:22.680
first line, but there is they do have some chemistry.
358
00:19:22.759 --> 00:19:25.160
Like the reality is, I know everybody's gonna freak out
359
00:19:25.160 --> 00:19:28.559
and vehicle a lot sucks if he didn't have the
360
00:19:28.559 --> 00:19:30.759
price tag he had attached to him. We've said this
361
00:19:30.799 --> 00:19:33.680
a million times, like if he was making three five
362
00:19:33.799 --> 00:19:35.599
or something like that, everybody would be a little bit
363
00:19:35.599 --> 00:19:38.359
more relaxed about it. But he has a big tag
364
00:19:38.400 --> 00:19:40.720
on his name. He hasn't produced the way we want
365
00:19:40.759 --> 00:19:44.400
him or need him to produce. It's an albatrazy like that.
366
00:19:44.519 --> 00:19:47.200
There's a lot to say on the negative side, but
367
00:19:48.039 --> 00:19:49.680
you can see why he's on that line because he's
368
00:19:49.720 --> 00:19:51.759
played with that line before and he has chemistry with
369
00:19:51.799 --> 00:19:55.599
that line. So it's just you're putting a round peg
370
00:19:55.599 --> 00:19:57.279
into a round hole, even though it might be a
371
00:19:57.319 --> 00:20:00.960
little rusty and jagged and give you tet, You're still
372
00:20:00.960 --> 00:20:05.680
gonna stick it in there. But like the the answer,
373
00:20:06.559 --> 00:20:09.240
what is going on in I looked away.
374
00:20:09.000 --> 00:20:10.880
At the YouTube conference and I came back here and
375
00:20:10.920 --> 00:20:11.920
I don't know what's going on?
376
00:20:11.960 --> 00:20:16.640
What is round round pegs and the round holes. But
377
00:20:16.680 --> 00:20:20.519
I mean, listen, there's some that the bottom the bottom
378
00:20:20.519 --> 00:20:22.960
six right now, the bottom six might have the key.
379
00:20:23.920 --> 00:20:25.880
So the key to our question of what's going to
380
00:20:25.920 --> 00:20:27.880
be on the first line, but you can't really might
381
00:20:27.880 --> 00:20:30.519
be a key master. It might be the key asker.
382
00:20:33.359 --> 00:20:35.160
Are you are you? Goes?
383
00:20:35.200 --> 00:20:40.400
Are the Guardian? Yeah? Who's who is the Rick morandas
384
00:20:40.440 --> 00:20:43.480
of the New Jersey Devil's bottom six? Who is it?
385
00:20:43.519 --> 00:20:47.799
Are you the key master? Are you?
386
00:20:49.039 --> 00:20:51.599
I should watch that movie since it's the Halloween season.
387
00:20:52.160 --> 00:20:56.119
Is a movie. It's such a if somebody asks you
388
00:20:56.119 --> 00:21:04.680
if you're a god, you say yes, anyway you say.
389
00:21:03.720 --> 00:21:08.000
I mean, I think everyone was a little disappointed when
390
00:21:08.079 --> 00:21:12.000
they saw a plot up there but you know, rational thinking. Yeah,
391
00:21:12.039 --> 00:21:15.759
like you said, he's played with them before. You know,
392
00:21:15.799 --> 00:21:18.599
it would be interesting if Cotner moves up. I think
393
00:21:19.839 --> 00:21:25.400
Bratt would have to switch sides. But you know, then
394
00:21:25.440 --> 00:21:29.200
you got Connor Brown. Grit Zyuk obviously you know, pops
395
00:21:29.200 --> 00:21:32.640
into your head. But he's kind of you know, he's
396
00:21:33.160 --> 00:21:36.240
having him there is started looks like it's going to
397
00:21:36.319 --> 00:21:40.799
provide production for that bottom six. So moving him out
398
00:21:41.079 --> 00:21:43.279
I want to be a nice experiment for the time being.
399
00:21:43.480 --> 00:21:51.599
But yeah, I think he and he's so.
400
00:21:50.559 --> 00:21:55.160
Confident the end of that power play, he let that
401
00:21:55.200 --> 00:21:58.359
one shot go that got like up here like on
402
00:21:58.400 --> 00:22:01.759
the shoulder neck area, and then the other one that
403
00:22:01.839 --> 00:22:05.440
he ripped when he was coming up the wing and
404
00:22:05.519 --> 00:22:08.799
VASTI like kicked it out and its like like bounced
405
00:22:08.799 --> 00:22:11.000
over Luke's stick. He was he was coming in on there.
406
00:22:11.039 --> 00:22:14.440
They were breaking. But man, he's just he's not afraid
407
00:22:14.480 --> 00:22:15.519
to rip it. Dude.
408
00:22:15.960 --> 00:22:18.319
I love that, love that.
409
00:22:19.759 --> 00:22:23.559
Yeah, that kind of hopefully this is like you know
410
00:22:23.640 --> 00:22:26.759
what we thought we were getting with Haltzi. You know,
411
00:22:27.279 --> 00:22:29.240
we saw those tapes of him over there in Sweden
412
00:22:29.400 --> 00:22:33.599
just waiting around to let unleash that cannon like this
413
00:22:33.680 --> 00:22:36.119
kid seems to he gets it and he can fire it.
414
00:22:37.720 --> 00:22:37.960
You know.
415
00:22:38.200 --> 00:22:41.599
I was looking at something the other day and they
416
00:22:41.599 --> 00:22:44.039
were showing that that draft class where it was Holtz
417
00:22:44.119 --> 00:22:48.640
Mercer and Muhammadula and and I was like, if you know,
418
00:22:48.680 --> 00:22:51.640
it's one of those wood moments. And and when he
419
00:22:51.839 --> 00:22:55.319
was when he was drafted, all of us were super pumped.
420
00:22:55.359 --> 00:22:57.599
Like you said, like, oh, you watched a kid coming
421
00:22:57.599 --> 00:22:59.599
in and you're like, oh, he's got a shot, Like
422
00:22:59.680 --> 00:23:02.200
oh god, yeah, and it's all that, you know, the
423
00:23:02.559 --> 00:23:05.400
the what they could have done this, like the whole
424
00:23:05.480 --> 00:23:07.680
Zaka blah blah blah blah. It's by the way. Somebody
425
00:23:07.839 --> 00:23:10.759
was like, Zaka has three points in three games. If
426
00:23:10.799 --> 00:23:15.279
you know him, he'll cool off. Oh yeah, mightily, mightily
427
00:23:15.359 --> 00:23:20.039
he will cool off. But yeah, dude, it's a it's
428
00:23:20.079 --> 00:23:22.880
a great sign. It's great to get production from the
429
00:23:22.880 --> 00:23:26.960
bottom six, something that the Devil's lacked immensely last year.
430
00:23:27.599 --> 00:23:31.000
So I'm hoping this this trend continues. It sucks that
431
00:23:31.119 --> 00:23:33.079
Dad Andov got hurt, but this also could open the
432
00:23:33.119 --> 00:23:35.880
door for a couple other people. Like you said, you
433
00:23:35.920 --> 00:23:39.799
wanted the chants up here, but there's there's a there's
434
00:23:39.839 --> 00:23:42.559
some good side to uh.
435
00:23:42.519 --> 00:23:45.920
Uh, there's another chance coming later on this season, is
436
00:23:45.960 --> 00:23:46.480
that you're.
437
00:23:46.559 --> 00:23:48.839
Maybe maybe.
438
00:23:50.880 --> 00:23:54.119
Uh but yeah, like right now, what works? It works,
439
00:23:54.160 --> 00:23:57.480
And listen the whole pilot thing. If it's it's the devil,
440
00:23:57.519 --> 00:24:01.400
you know, right pun intended again, Wow, that's in a podcast.
441
00:24:01.559 --> 00:24:06.000
I'm gonna have to freaking leave now. But it a
442
00:24:06.000 --> 00:24:08.599
lot being on that line. It's not like it's, uh,
443
00:24:09.240 --> 00:24:12.599
you know, you're putting Big Mac on that first line
444
00:24:12.640 --> 00:24:14.640
or something like that. You're you're putting somebody that they're
445
00:24:14.680 --> 00:24:19.319
familiar with, and I know it's like you want somebody
446
00:24:19.319 --> 00:24:22.160
that's gonna be dangerous, but you never know, like he might.
447
00:24:22.240 --> 00:24:24.720
He might jump back into it and start.
448
00:24:24.759 --> 00:24:27.759
He had his moments with them last year where it
449
00:24:27.839 --> 00:24:30.759
seemed like he figured out how to play with them.
450
00:24:30.799 --> 00:24:32.279
So let's let's.
451
00:24:32.079 --> 00:24:35.200
Just hope that that's that happens right now, and if
452
00:24:35.200 --> 00:24:36.359
you know, you know what happens.
453
00:24:36.359 --> 00:24:38.519
If it does, know what happens.
454
00:24:38.519 --> 00:24:42.440
If it does, someone's gonna trade for him at the
455
00:24:42.519 --> 00:24:44.559
trade deadline or even sooner.
456
00:24:45.000 --> 00:24:47.079
If he does really well, So.
457
00:24:47.240 --> 00:24:49.519
You know what, put him up with Jack.
458
00:24:50.119 --> 00:24:54.400
Let him roll with Jess burn Jack, let him let
459
00:24:54.480 --> 00:24:56.400
him go already.
460
00:24:56.519 --> 00:25:02.559
Jerry Seinfeld, Seinfeld, just do it. That's okay, It already
461
00:25:05.400 --> 00:25:06.599
held Jerry Seinfeld.
462
00:25:08.599 --> 00:25:12.759
I mean his his value is not so high right now.
463
00:25:13.759 --> 00:25:15.680
If you put him with Jasper and Jack and he
464
00:25:15.720 --> 00:25:20.400
starts putting some production out there, then maybe teams would
465
00:25:20.400 --> 00:25:22.440
think like, oh, you know, maybe we can add him
466
00:25:22.440 --> 00:25:25.440
to one of our top lines as that maybe that's
467
00:25:25.599 --> 00:25:28.880
Ford can go into the uh into the you know,
468
00:25:30.519 --> 00:25:34.000
dirty areas along the boards in front of the goaltender.
469
00:25:35.279 --> 00:25:36.839
If you can play with if you can play with
470
00:25:36.920 --> 00:25:40.200
Jasper and Jack, you can probably play with most top
471
00:25:40.240 --> 00:25:42.000
lines throughout the throughout the NHL.
472
00:25:43.640 --> 00:25:47.720
Yeah, all right, Steven, We've gotten until Covid Savage comes
473
00:25:47.759 --> 00:25:49.880
back to fire. We've got until Covid Savage comes back
474
00:25:49.920 --> 00:25:53.559
to figure it out. So yeah, give me these opportunities.
475
00:25:54.680 --> 00:25:57.960
Zaka had fifty seven forty seven points in the last
476
00:25:57.960 --> 00:26:00.599
three years. But the point of the matter is is
477
00:26:00.720 --> 00:26:03.119
we know what kind of production Zaka can put up.
478
00:26:03.720 --> 00:26:06.920
But he what was he sixth overall that we drafted him.
479
00:26:07.279 --> 00:26:09.640
I get it. Cody Glass was like a seventh he
480
00:26:09.799 --> 00:26:12.920
picked seventh overall by the Golden Knights, and you know,
481
00:26:13.079 --> 00:26:16.400
now he's on our fourth line. We make the joke
482
00:26:16.440 --> 00:26:18.599
because Zaka was one of those Zcca was one of
483
00:26:18.640 --> 00:26:22.640
those guys that I don't know what it's had I forget,
484
00:26:22.640 --> 00:26:24.319
but all I know what I'm trying to get to
485
00:26:24.480 --> 00:26:26.599
is like Zaka was one of those players that when
486
00:26:26.599 --> 00:26:28.960
he came into into the organization, like we had such
487
00:26:29.039 --> 00:26:32.759
huge high hopes for him and he just never matriculated
488
00:26:32.799 --> 00:26:37.920
into like being that dude. He just hovered around like
489
00:26:38.799 --> 00:26:42.160
he was. He was like he's not top six, but
490
00:26:42.240 --> 00:26:44.599
he's not bottom six. He's like right in the middle,
491
00:26:44.640 --> 00:26:46.359
and you're like, all right, cool, but we need you
492
00:26:46.400 --> 00:26:48.440
to be a little bit more. He had the size
493
00:26:48.480 --> 00:26:51.200
that was another dude when they drafted, like leading into
494
00:26:51.240 --> 00:26:53.559
his draft, like everything that everybody talked about him, like
495
00:26:53.640 --> 00:26:57.279
this kid, he's got like, oh Vegekan type traits. This
496
00:26:57.319 --> 00:26:58.880
is not me saying this. This is like what they
497
00:26:58.880 --> 00:27:00.640
were saying at the time of z Because draft. He
498
00:27:00.680 --> 00:27:03.119
could go back and look it up. He's big, he's strong,
499
00:27:03.160 --> 00:27:05.160
he's got a hell of a shot, he can bully
500
00:27:05.240 --> 00:27:10.480
himself around. Then he got hurt, like right, that's what
501
00:27:10.519 --> 00:27:11.079
forget about.
502
00:27:11.119 --> 00:27:14.759
Like he had a serious head injury like before the draft.
503
00:27:15.079 --> 00:27:19.799
Yeah, so the the Zaka hate is more so because
504
00:27:19.960 --> 00:27:23.079
he could have been He could have been way more
505
00:27:23.119 --> 00:27:25.359
than he is. He could have been. He could have
506
00:27:25.400 --> 00:27:33.599
been a wrecking ball out there, but it is rocket shooter,
507
00:27:33.839 --> 00:27:37.160
you know. Read he could have been a fifty goal scorer.
508
00:27:37.200 --> 00:27:38.880
But you know what could have been?
509
00:27:40.480 --> 00:27:43.680
You know what. Some sometimes you need that change of
510
00:27:43.759 --> 00:27:46.960
scenery to really break yourself out of the funk you're in. Yeah,
511
00:27:47.759 --> 00:27:51.440
sometimes that happens. It sucks, It sucks. The Devils were
512
00:27:51.440 --> 00:27:54.000
a long time traded players away and they always did
513
00:27:54.079 --> 00:27:56.680
really well where they went. Sometimes it's just what the
514
00:27:56.720 --> 00:28:00.160
player needs. It's it's not that the player doesn't. If
515
00:28:00.160 --> 00:28:02.359
you think that the players don't want to do well dollar,
516
00:28:02.759 --> 00:28:06.279
that's nuts. Yeah. Looking see, he was not he was
517
00:28:06.319 --> 00:28:09.319
not viewed very highly over in Washington. He comes here,
518
00:28:09.720 --> 00:28:13.000
he's he's a great uh you know, a great defenseman.
519
00:28:13.079 --> 00:28:15.039
I mean, look at Ryan Graves. It's the opposite. He's
520
00:28:15.079 --> 00:28:18.359
doing great. He goes to Pittsburgh and he was put
521
00:28:18.400 --> 00:28:22.279
on waivers. You know, sometimes it happens in the opposite,
522
00:28:22.759 --> 00:28:23.440
but it just.
523
00:28:23.599 --> 00:28:27.519
But originally he wasn't getting the opportunity in Colorado, and
524
00:28:27.559 --> 00:28:29.920
then he came to New Jersey and did really well
525
00:28:29.920 --> 00:28:34.279
for those two years. Yes, obviously the same way in Pittsburgh.
526
00:28:34.319 --> 00:28:40.279
But either way, sometimes a new sevenstom sometimes by the Canadians, you.
527
00:28:40.240 --> 00:28:43.519
Know, and sometimes a different system. You flourish in a
528
00:28:43.559 --> 00:28:47.960
different system, or or get into a new system and
529
00:28:48.160 --> 00:28:51.640
you suck. We had coaching, a different voice, different teammates.
530
00:28:51.680 --> 00:28:55.559
It's good for him, we've moved.
531
00:28:55.799 --> 00:29:00.279
Oh my goodness, good for him. It's not where it's
532
00:29:00.319 --> 00:29:03.079
all the players that went after Zaka in the draft.
533
00:29:03.480 --> 00:29:07.519
Yeah, well that's that that too, that too, that too,
534
00:29:07.759 --> 00:29:11.880
that's the Mayo. That was a big draft that year.
535
00:29:11.960 --> 00:29:14.240
That was a big draft. That was a big draft.
536
00:29:14.480 --> 00:29:16.960
That was a big draft. That's like, uh, it's like,
537
00:29:17.000 --> 00:29:20.000
what is it is? It's the the three draft where
538
00:29:20.039 --> 00:29:23.000
all these great players are picked. And I love reminding
539
00:29:23.039 --> 00:29:26.759
Billy Dean about that three draft because all these great
540
00:29:26.799 --> 00:29:30.839
players are picked and then the Rangers pick Hugh Jessmon. Yeah,
541
00:29:31.079 --> 00:29:33.039
I'm looking for that, and.
542
00:29:32.880 --> 00:29:37.599
Uh, it's us. That's another good example. He's doing good
543
00:29:37.680 --> 00:29:42.039
now with Florida, but go through Devils and then he
544
00:29:42.079 --> 00:29:44.440
went up to Boston and I don't I think he
545
00:29:44.480 --> 00:29:45.039
got non.
546
00:29:44.920 --> 00:29:49.119
Tend Yeah, he had. He had two other stops or
547
00:29:49.160 --> 00:29:50.440
one other stop between that two.
548
00:29:50.440 --> 00:29:54.960
I think I think Columbus. No, that was his brother.
549
00:29:55.160 --> 00:29:58.400
No, that was he did he go to and his
550
00:29:58.480 --> 00:30:02.039
brother played for Chicago too, right, either way, I don't
551
00:30:02.119 --> 00:30:05.279
he figured it. Either way he figured it out. But
552
00:30:05.359 --> 00:30:08.000
that's yeah. There's plenty of guys, and then you find
553
00:30:08.000 --> 00:30:09.880
guys that are role player guys that end up on
554
00:30:09.960 --> 00:30:12.240
teams like a J. Greer. That's another guy that went
555
00:30:12.279 --> 00:30:16.839
to Florida. But also Florida is ridiculously stacked. I was
556
00:30:16.839 --> 00:30:21.559
listening to a spit and chick out the No. I know,
557
00:30:21.599 --> 00:30:24.279
I'm just saying drafted. I think we got a J.
558
00:30:24.440 --> 00:30:27.519
Greer in the in the Zaka trade. If I'm not mistaken,
559
00:30:28.079 --> 00:30:31.200
I think, but yeah, you might be right. Sure yeah sure,
560
00:30:32.400 --> 00:30:36.160
but uh you know, and you draft guys, you develop them,
561
00:30:36.200 --> 00:30:38.200
hopefully they work out, and then you get guys like
562
00:30:38.559 --> 00:30:41.440
jessper Brett, who's the sixth round pick and the guy's
563
00:30:41.440 --> 00:30:45.920
an absolute stud. I mean sometimes looking Carol, Uh oh
564
00:30:45.960 --> 00:30:51.720
my god, I always screw up his name. Uh yeah,
565
00:30:51.920 --> 00:30:55.079
just say that's off capriz Off. I always screw up
566
00:30:55.079 --> 00:30:57.920
his last name. But Caprizof who just signed the biggest
567
00:30:57.960 --> 00:31:00.839
contract in NHL history. He was a fifth round pick.
568
00:31:01.960 --> 00:31:04.640
So you think about all the teams, every single team
569
00:31:04.640 --> 00:31:07.000
except for the Minnesota While, and even the Minnesota Wild
570
00:31:07.079 --> 00:31:10.519
passing them four times before they got him. So you know,
571
00:31:10.720 --> 00:31:15.119
it depends on and some guys translate better from Europe
572
00:31:15.200 --> 00:31:17.920
or Russia and they come over here and they played great.
573
00:31:18.279 --> 00:31:20.720
Some guys come over here and they're like Nikkiti goosev
574
00:31:20.759 --> 00:31:25.200
and they just they look they look okay, but not good.
575
00:31:26.400 --> 00:31:32.839
So he was kind of but they wrangled him really quickly.
576
00:31:32.880 --> 00:31:36.119
They were like get over here, Yeah, get over here yet,
577
00:31:36.359 --> 00:31:37.240
damn goose and.
578
00:31:40.720 --> 00:31:43.200
You know, like, oh, you're good in here, but you know,
579
00:31:43.319 --> 00:31:44.680
maybe outside not so much.
580
00:31:45.640 --> 00:31:48.160
And let's not forget Calgary traded up to take Trevor
581
00:31:48.200 --> 00:31:49.759
Kidd and we took marta ambro door.
582
00:31:50.440 --> 00:31:53.240
Well there you go, that too, that too. I mean,
583
00:31:53.240 --> 00:31:55.440
Trevor Kidd had a decent career, but he was he
584
00:31:55.559 --> 00:31:59.720
was not Marty and that could have ended and that
585
00:31:59.920 --> 00:32:04.240
was is uh, that was lose guy before Marty fell
586
00:32:04.279 --> 00:32:07.920
in his lap because he wanted Trevor Kidd and then
587
00:32:07.920 --> 00:32:09.599
when he got picked, he was like, all right, well
588
00:32:09.599 --> 00:32:13.480
guess we'll go just brodor guy or whatever his name is,
589
00:32:13.519 --> 00:32:17.160
and give me a jar of jelly, I'm gonna throw it.
590
00:32:19.319 --> 00:32:25.839
Britz Rocket. I like it. Yeah, Double Heaven seven seven
591
00:32:26.400 --> 00:32:27.079
seventy seven.
592
00:32:27.240 --> 00:32:30.200
I like it too. I like it too, Sam wu.
593
00:32:30.039 --> 00:32:33.279
Won't you know he doesn't trust uh anyone from Russia?
594
00:32:33.759 --> 00:32:38.519
Oh my god, wait a whole on so so uh
595
00:32:37.559 --> 00:32:40.960
oh my goodness. Just basically, so this is who went
596
00:32:41.000 --> 00:32:48.720
after Zaka Demo Ranton in Kraus Brazil. Uh, Barzel, Barzel,
597
00:32:48.839 --> 00:32:55.039
thank you, shabbat Sam. There's like every one of these guys,
598
00:32:55.279 --> 00:33:00.960
every one of these names sha naga nota not gonna
599
00:33:00.960 --> 00:33:06.640
work here anymore. That's Michael. I'm a huge fan.
600
00:33:09.880 --> 00:33:12.839
Names are not good right yet, No, dude, I gotta.
601
00:33:12.640 --> 00:33:21.400
Tell you because I enjoy his entire catalog, you know, the.
602
00:33:21.559 --> 00:33:25.000
Reddit comments like the one guy can't even pronounce names
603
00:33:25.200 --> 00:33:25.680
type type.
604
00:33:26.799 --> 00:33:30.119
All they do is talk about movies and do movie quotes.
605
00:33:30.920 --> 00:33:36.640
Yeah, oh yeah, anyone on uh what's it called Telegram?
606
00:33:36.839 --> 00:33:42.319
Apparently grits you because the like star of the Telegram
607
00:33:42.480 --> 00:33:45.319
social media app or whatever.
608
00:33:45.400 --> 00:33:46.079
I don't know.
609
00:33:46.799 --> 00:33:49.960
I'm not big so I like barely use my Instagram
610
00:33:50.039 --> 00:33:55.759
and that's about it. But apparently he follows so going on.
611
00:33:56.359 --> 00:33:57.839
So good for grits you.
612
00:33:58.039 --> 00:34:01.440
He realized for him, you're talking to guys in there.
613
00:34:01.480 --> 00:34:04.400
We're in our late thirties, early forties, so it's like
614
00:34:04.559 --> 00:34:08.079
weird borderline, like what what did you say? Tella who?
615
00:34:08.559 --> 00:34:12.360
They're doing telegrams again, like he's got the William Bell.
616
00:34:13.360 --> 00:34:15.400
Oh my god, this kid's going back.
617
00:34:16.800 --> 00:34:18.239
I could just hear the reddit commons.
618
00:34:18.599 --> 00:34:20.880
Never did anyone ever get a telegram here?
619
00:34:20.920 --> 00:34:22.480
I don't think I don't never.
620
00:34:22.360 --> 00:34:23.159
Got a telegram.
621
00:34:23.719 --> 00:34:25.719
You know, maybe Samu got a telegram when the Mets
622
00:34:25.760 --> 00:34:26.599
won in eighty six.
623
00:34:27.360 --> 00:34:30.679
Yeah, my new favorite team sent me a telegram.
624
00:34:31.159 --> 00:34:35.280
That's my team, that's my team, and it says, let's
625
00:34:35.280 --> 00:34:35.920
go bets on.
626
00:34:38.400 --> 00:34:41.000
The fact he's doing that voice with the ductail shirt
627
00:34:41.159 --> 00:34:44.039
was just priceless, riceless.
628
00:34:45.480 --> 00:34:49.960
Yeah, the Mets have won the World Series. Stop, let's
629
00:34:49.960 --> 00:34:56.400
go Mets. Stop. Stop. Yeah, your new family.
630
00:34:58.000 --> 00:35:00.639
Mazy had puppies. Stop.
631
00:35:03.119 --> 00:35:05.320
Oh, the reddit comments are gonna be awesome.
632
00:35:06.320 --> 00:35:08.400
That's all right. Most of this is like, you know
633
00:35:09.079 --> 00:35:12.960
who cares, right, But going into Columbus, We've got Game
634
00:35:12.960 --> 00:35:16.320
three coming up, going into Columbus some Monday, and then
635
00:35:16.360 --> 00:35:18.159
we have a couple of days off and then boys
636
00:35:18.679 --> 00:35:21.840
boys were breaking into barn. We got the home opener,
637
00:35:22.880 --> 00:35:26.599
and I can't wait. My favorite time of year. Hopefully
638
00:35:26.639 --> 00:35:28.679
this stupid weather that's going on right now will be
639
00:35:28.679 --> 00:35:29.239
all done with.
640
00:35:31.199 --> 00:35:31.639
But it is.
641
00:35:32.679 --> 00:35:36.159
You're getting a nor Easter without the snow, nor Easter
642
00:35:36.400 --> 00:35:39.400
without the just pissy rain and wind. And let me
643
00:35:39.400 --> 00:35:41.159
tell you, I drove from South Jersey.
644
00:35:41.199 --> 00:35:41.440
I was.
645
00:35:41.679 --> 00:35:44.199
I was down South Jersey doing something and driving back
646
00:35:44.280 --> 00:35:48.559
on the Parkway and this weather sucked. It was a
647
00:35:48.559 --> 00:35:51.440
little bit of a white knuckler when you're driving and
648
00:35:51.440 --> 00:35:53.519
you're like, oh, I guess I'm gonna shift lanes now
649
00:35:53.559 --> 00:35:58.840
because the wind is taking me. But oh, there's a
650
00:35:59.039 --> 00:36:01.039
Mac truck. Just we'll go and buy me. Like I'm
651
00:36:01.079 --> 00:36:06.480
sitting still, but yeah it, dude, I know everybody here
652
00:36:06.480 --> 00:36:09.079
can agree. Like one of my favorite feelings in the
653
00:36:09.079 --> 00:36:15.960
world is walking up to the rock, whether it's waking no,
654
00:36:16.280 --> 00:36:20.039
going over to American Whiskey, hanging out with everybody having
655
00:36:20.039 --> 00:36:23.840
a beer, getting rowdy, and then then waiting in line
656
00:36:24.400 --> 00:36:26.360
and then going inside.
657
00:36:27.639 --> 00:36:28.960
Yeah, and I.
658
00:36:29.360 --> 00:36:31.480
Just can't wait. I can't wait. I always look forward
659
00:36:31.519 --> 00:36:34.000
to the hype up video they have, like the first
660
00:36:34.079 --> 00:36:35.559
video of the year that you get to see, like
661
00:36:35.599 --> 00:36:40.039
the whole introduction the team and introduction like that whole
662
00:36:40.880 --> 00:36:43.960
the whole show and all that kind of stuff is great.
663
00:36:44.000 --> 00:36:47.639
Although dude, I wish I would get like a quarter
664
00:36:47.800 --> 00:36:49.199
of how good Vegas is.
665
00:36:49.320 --> 00:36:54.159
Because that that's just ridiculous. Like, I get it, it's Vegas.
666
00:36:54.400 --> 00:36:58.760
They have to do that kind of crap. But man,
667
00:36:58.840 --> 00:36:59.960
that's I think it's cool.
668
00:37:01.320 --> 00:37:03.400
We would we would get something like that, and everyone
669
00:37:03.440 --> 00:37:05.440
would complain why they spending all the money on the
670
00:37:05.480 --> 00:37:07.599
pregame stuff and they don't put it in the players,
671
00:37:08.320 --> 00:37:14.239
Like everyone would complain, But Vegas, Vegas not only does
672
00:37:14.280 --> 00:37:17.280
the pregame stuff, but they also bring in the players too.
673
00:37:17.320 --> 00:37:20.280
And we can all the three of us and Sam
674
00:37:20.480 --> 00:37:23.239
can attest that the Vegas experience is pretty fricking wild
675
00:37:23.559 --> 00:37:25.679
and there are no lines to get in. There are
676
00:37:25.719 --> 00:37:29.079
no lines in the building. They barely give you any security.
677
00:37:29.239 --> 00:37:30.840
By the way we walked in, I could have had
678
00:37:30.880 --> 00:37:34.360
like a nuclear bomb strapped in my pants and they
679
00:37:34.559 --> 00:37:36.800
just were like, uh, put your keys in that ball.
680
00:37:36.880 --> 00:37:38.119
You're on a listener?
681
00:37:39.039 --> 00:37:41.760
Yeah, probably, And I'm like I forgot, and They're like, well,
682
00:37:41.960 --> 00:37:44.400
don't worry about it, you know what. I'm like, oh weird.
683
00:37:44.480 --> 00:37:49.119
But you know what, though, that that security was lax,
684
00:37:49.360 --> 00:37:51.039
and then all of a sudden, the girl scouts go
685
00:37:51.079 --> 00:37:52.239
after Sam Wu and it.
686
00:37:52.199 --> 00:37:54.719
Was oh my god. Well we took that escalator all
687
00:37:54.719 --> 00:37:57.440
the way up to the Billiant floor where Sam got
688
00:37:57.519 --> 00:38:00.760
us those amazing standing only seats were Scotti.
689
00:38:01.199 --> 00:38:06.199
That was that was me for that, Scottie.
690
00:38:06.280 --> 00:38:10.679
Sorry, Sam, I take that all back, had the other
691
00:38:10.719 --> 00:38:11.920
and if anybody leaned.
692
00:38:11.800 --> 00:38:16.840
For Sam, Sam got us the tickets for the out.
693
00:38:18.280 --> 00:38:20.639
At least there were for the game.
694
00:38:22.039 --> 00:38:25.480
That's true, that's true. Yeah, I'm glad I didn't get
695
00:38:25.480 --> 00:38:28.039
those other ones that were in that club thing, because
696
00:38:28.800 --> 00:38:31.159
it turns out you can't even really see the game.
697
00:38:31.800 --> 00:38:33.519
From up there. We would have to watch it on
698
00:38:33.559 --> 00:38:33.960
the bar.
699
00:38:34.079 --> 00:38:39.440
T remember that club that was to the left, that's
700
00:38:39.480 --> 00:38:41.880
where that's where I originally was getting the I was like, oh,
701
00:38:41.920 --> 00:38:42.519
this is great.
702
00:38:42.639 --> 00:38:45.800
You know, like we could get like a little table.
703
00:38:49.480 --> 00:38:53.559
Militia in front of us.
704
00:38:55.440 --> 00:38:59.239
Hey, Jake, I've never seen I never seen Jake. Now
705
00:38:59.599 --> 00:39:03.440
we we could like we could be loud and very
706
00:39:03.559 --> 00:39:08.400
like annoying. I've never seen an entire you. And when
707
00:39:08.440 --> 00:39:15.519
we say we when I when we're just just see
708
00:39:15.559 --> 00:39:20.639
what's going on there. For me, that was Arizona. That
709
00:39:20.719 --> 00:39:23.639
was Arizona. That was why would be here? Then? I
710
00:39:23.679 --> 00:39:25.840
don't know. I just want to, you know, come say
711
00:39:27.079 --> 00:39:31.159
for your sure. Yeah, I hung out. I was like
712
00:39:31.199 --> 00:39:32.960
hanging out with that one cop the whole time. He
713
00:39:33.039 --> 00:39:35.760
was cool as heck. I was like, I'm not, I'm not.
714
00:39:36.199 --> 00:39:38.079
I'm not gonna be too bad, don't worry. Then the
715
00:39:38.119 --> 00:39:41.360
Devil's let up and going my god, damn as loud
716
00:39:41.400 --> 00:39:46.440
as I could, and everyone was the situation. That's that's
717
00:39:46.480 --> 00:39:47.039
what that was.
718
00:39:48.480 --> 00:39:50.360
Oh wait, where're the cops supposed to making fun of
719
00:39:50.440 --> 00:39:52.960
Sam for being a group six?
720
00:39:54.400 --> 00:39:54.760
Yeah?
721
00:39:54.800 --> 00:39:55.079
Five?
722
00:39:55.239 --> 00:39:59.239
Yeah, group five five? Yeah, group five. But anyways, yeah,
723
00:39:59.280 --> 00:40:02.519
Sam got a whole section of legitimate girls Scots like
724
00:40:02.559 --> 00:40:04.079
we make that joke, and I think a lot of
725
00:40:04.079 --> 00:40:08.280
people think we're making that up, but it's it's And
726
00:40:08.320 --> 00:40:11.039
as soon as they turned to yell at him, Sam
727
00:40:11.079 --> 00:40:13.000
disappeared into.
728
00:40:14.199 --> 00:40:17.800
Gotta go, Sam, move.
729
00:40:19.239 --> 00:40:24.079
When when whim never never moved faster.
730
00:40:25.559 --> 00:40:27.679
That guy turned around, looked at me, he goes, where's
731
00:40:27.760 --> 00:40:31.960
Drake to now? And I go, He's gone. He don't
732
00:40:32.000 --> 00:40:36.880
know where he went. Aim your anger somewhere else. I
733
00:40:36.880 --> 00:40:37.800
don't know what happened.
734
00:40:38.679 --> 00:40:40.599
Sam had like the Scooby Doo legs all of a
735
00:40:40.599 --> 00:40:46.719
sudden like, oh, Gord.
736
00:40:48.440 --> 00:40:51.039
I remember telling little Steve gotta go, and then I
737
00:40:51.199 --> 00:40:53.239
just went to the bathroom.
738
00:40:53.280 --> 00:40:56.440
Gone, you were gone, bathroom. Yeah, you went to the
739
00:40:56.440 --> 00:41:00.679
bathroom like outside of the arena. You god, for like
740
00:41:00.719 --> 00:41:02.960
fifteen minutes. I'm like, he didn't bring a newspaper. He
741
00:41:03.000 --> 00:41:04.960
should be back in like five seconds.
742
00:41:05.360 --> 00:41:05.760
Mm hmm.
743
00:41:06.960 --> 00:41:11.119
I think I yelled Jake the snake probably about seventy
744
00:41:11.159 --> 00:41:12.119
times times.
745
00:41:12.199 --> 00:41:15.840
Yeah, it was a lot. It was every every stupid
746
00:41:15.880 --> 00:41:17.880
save too. It wasn't even like every good save.
747
00:41:18.119 --> 00:41:20.639
It was like the puck was trickling in and he
748
00:41:20.800 --> 00:41:27.400
just liked.
749
00:41:25.639 --> 00:41:33.719
You've been bitten. He constricted you remember that one? He
750
00:41:33.760 --> 00:41:38.920
could Oh lord, feel the burn.
751
00:41:40.119 --> 00:41:43.159
We got to do another tip? Really do we really
752
00:41:43.239 --> 00:41:44.159
speaking of though?
753
00:41:44.480 --> 00:41:45.079
The Vegas?
754
00:41:45.119 --> 00:41:47.360
Like what would you because you were saying you want
755
00:41:47.360 --> 00:41:50.559
to show there beforehand? What what what are they supposed
756
00:41:50.599 --> 00:41:51.800
to I mean in Vegas they have not.
757
00:41:53.559 --> 00:41:53.800
Show.
758
00:41:54.800 --> 00:41:55.960
You're doing like a seance.
759
00:41:56.000 --> 00:41:56.800
We're gonna like, you.
760
00:41:56.760 --> 00:42:00.360
Know, raise the devil up like out of the ice whatever.
761
00:42:01.360 --> 00:42:06.920
Yeah, and he sacrifices like yeah, like whatever. The opposing
762
00:42:06.960 --> 00:42:09.760
team they're playing like they're playing the Panthers. So some
763
00:42:09.800 --> 00:42:12.559
guy in the Panthers, uh, like we.
764
00:42:12.559 --> 00:42:15.519
Sacrificed the middle, comes to the middle of the ice
765
00:42:15.519 --> 00:42:18.679
and he's like confused and he's like, what's happening. Yeah,
766
00:42:18.719 --> 00:42:20.639
and then like a bunch of people in black robes
767
00:42:20.679 --> 00:42:23.079
come out and surround him and then they just murder them.
768
00:42:23.199 --> 00:42:24.800
They murder them right in the middle of the other
769
00:42:26.079 --> 00:42:28.880
and like, all right, we're gonna scrape the blood and
770
00:42:28.960 --> 00:42:35.159
we get this hockey game going, like, how was.
771
00:42:35.119 --> 00:42:38.119
The game last night? Well, dude died. He was pretty
772
00:42:38.159 --> 00:42:42.960
wild raising their pre game, their pregame show is like
773
00:42:43.239 --> 00:42:47.239
they raised a freaking devil before the game even starts.
774
00:42:48.559 --> 00:42:52.000
I don't know, I have this pentagram like head now.
775
00:42:52.159 --> 00:42:59.440
I don't know what to do. It just happened nowhere
776
00:43:00.440 --> 00:43:03.559
Denko came out. Ken Denko came out, talking in tongues,
777
00:43:03.599 --> 00:43:07.559
skating backwards. It was wild. It was if you remember,
778
00:43:07.599 --> 00:43:10.119
by the way, that old ESPN commercial where Ken Denko
779
00:43:10.679 --> 00:43:12.760
was like, hey, I hope you guys enjoy watching the
780
00:43:12.800 --> 00:43:15.440
New Jersey Devils and they like played it backwards and
781
00:43:15.480 --> 00:43:17.239
he was like skating backwards, was like and he was
782
00:43:17.280 --> 00:43:19.199
like talking to you satanic.
783
00:43:21.840 --> 00:43:22.239
Mm hmm.
784
00:43:23.119 --> 00:43:26.119
The old. I think I'm sold. We should have a Sean.
785
00:43:26.239 --> 00:43:30.239
Yeah, we should do every game and raise the our mascot,
786
00:43:30.320 --> 00:43:31.280
raised the Jersey Devil.
787
00:43:31.920 --> 00:43:35.400
Yeah, raised the Devil. I wish I would really lean
788
00:43:35.440 --> 00:43:37.400
into it once in a while, you know what I mean,
789
00:43:37.519 --> 00:43:38.840
like really like welcome back.
790
00:43:38.880 --> 00:43:39.880
Hey not?
791
00:43:40.039 --> 00:43:42.920
Why not? You know, go for it? Yeah? Should Yeah,
792
00:43:43.119 --> 00:43:50.159
some real satanic stuff going on. They got Cannibal Corpse
793
00:43:50.159 --> 00:43:56.239
playing Onto like the main concourse, just play black dude,
794
00:43:56.480 --> 00:43:59.199
be fine. That dude drinks some blood. That guy drinking
795
00:44:00.039 --> 00:44:00.400
look at that.
796
00:44:01.400 --> 00:44:03.599
I do not just have Why not just have Guar
797
00:44:03.719 --> 00:44:05.039
there for the beginning of everything.
798
00:44:05.840 --> 00:44:13.679
Yeah, yeah, exactly Vegas like they had the Marching Vegas.
799
00:44:13.760 --> 00:44:16.000
Does they have the little castle with the marching band.
800
00:44:16.039 --> 00:44:19.360
We just have like brimstone and like fire and the
801
00:44:19.559 --> 00:44:22.320
garating and filed.
802
00:44:23.880 --> 00:44:26.320
You've gotta you've got a replica of the Pine Barons
803
00:44:26.360 --> 00:44:30.119
and Guar just comes out and plays man, oh my god,
804
00:44:30.559 --> 00:44:36.679
everything everyone in that fake blood and all kinds of stuff.
805
00:44:36.679 --> 00:44:39.079
You know what it is? I got.
806
00:44:40.519 --> 00:44:46.400
I caught the pig and testine. Somebody's like they were
807
00:44:46.400 --> 00:44:48.480
throwing out shirts last night. No, I caught a pig's
808
00:44:48.519 --> 00:44:52.760
heart though. It was pretty uh, throwing right at my face.
809
00:44:56.039 --> 00:44:57.400
Appreciow was wild?
810
00:44:58.440 --> 00:45:03.960
Yeah? Oh oh man, yeah, I mean Knight.
811
00:45:05.719 --> 00:45:10.920
Rock every night, every home games, every home game show.
812
00:45:12.519 --> 00:45:15.280
What's the most to play in?
813
00:45:17.519 --> 00:45:18.119
Why?
814
00:45:18.360 --> 00:45:24.360
Why is shooting vials of crack out through the big.
815
00:45:25.400 --> 00:45:27.920
It's just white powder? What is that? Oh, it's anthrax.
816
00:45:30.920 --> 00:45:33.320
If you make it out of the game, you got
817
00:45:33.320 --> 00:45:35.519
a story to tell. You get a shirt too, and
818
00:45:35.559 --> 00:45:40.719
maybe a pig heart you never know, jack something pig heart.
819
00:45:41.280 --> 00:45:44.119
Knight. Some minor league hockey team has has got to
820
00:45:44.199 --> 00:45:49.199
do like Knight, like from They're from Virginia. So some
821
00:45:49.360 --> 00:45:51.760
like minor league hockey team down in Virginia needs to
822
00:45:51.760 --> 00:45:56.639
do night. That's that's that's I'm sold. I'd go see
823
00:45:56.800 --> 00:45:57.320
a heart beat.
824
00:45:58.360 --> 00:46:00.760
Just get on a plane. Are you going? I'm calling
825
00:46:00.920 --> 00:46:04.119
like Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia and we're gonna go watch war
826
00:46:04.239 --> 00:46:08.199
Night for the Raiders or whatever the hell they are
827
00:46:08.679 --> 00:46:11.559
some e c h L team.
828
00:46:11.880 --> 00:46:14.480
Oh man, that's good stuff.
829
00:46:15.360 --> 00:46:20.800
Yeah, okay, So going into Columbus and yeah the s
830
00:46:22.239 --> 00:46:27.519
and then and Fine Barons and we're good and we're good.
831
00:46:27.960 --> 00:46:35.519
Season will be underway. Yes, Sam, oh, there he is.
832
00:46:36.920 --> 00:46:40.000
We did.
833
00:46:40.400 --> 00:46:41.360
That's my band.
834
00:46:41.480 --> 00:46:42.880
Asar comes out to the stage.
835
00:46:43.199 --> 00:46:50.880
Yeah, I love them. We can get water play and
836
00:46:50.920 --> 00:46:54.760
then the Jonas can follow them up afterwards.
837
00:46:58.119 --> 00:47:01.519
Massive field, massive, feel there.
838
00:47:01.599 --> 00:47:03.400
You gotta get all the girls into it.
839
00:47:04.519 --> 00:47:07.039
He's Sam Sam. That's what they can finally do with
840
00:47:07.119 --> 00:47:09.719
that empty void that's on the other side of to Await.
841
00:47:10.599 --> 00:47:12.800
They can turn it into a Pine Barren's replica. And
842
00:47:12.880 --> 00:47:14.960
Guar is up there playing every game.
843
00:47:15.840 --> 00:47:21.159
Yeah, not bad idea, the guts gun, but.
844
00:47:27.440 --> 00:47:30.760
What's the that thing next door Zanda do whatever the
845
00:47:30.800 --> 00:47:31.440
hell it's called.
846
00:47:32.119 --> 00:47:34.039
Yeah, the mall American Mall.
847
00:47:34.119 --> 00:47:35.840
Yeah, put them on top of that with a little
848
00:47:35.880 --> 00:47:39.119
splatter gun and just all over.
849
00:47:41.440 --> 00:47:43.960
Kid's going to go to see SpongeBob. I can't wait
850
00:47:43.960 --> 00:47:51.360
to see SpongeBob. What's that guy doing? By the way,
851
00:47:51.360 --> 00:47:55.400
if you've ever seen I've seen Scotty. Do you remember that.
852
00:47:55.440 --> 00:47:56.320
I've seen him twice.
853
00:47:56.400 --> 00:47:57.039
They think.
854
00:47:59.840 --> 00:48:01.639
We Philly when I was living in Philly.
855
00:48:01.719 --> 00:48:04.480
Yeah, factory, Yeah, yeah, it was.
856
00:48:04.440 --> 00:48:07.440
So much fun. We were up in that balcony section
857
00:48:07.519 --> 00:48:09.559
so we didn't get screamed with blood. And then it
858
00:48:09.920 --> 00:48:11.840
is like I gotta catch am I gotta catch a bus.
859
00:48:11.880 --> 00:48:12.960
We got to get out of here now.
860
00:48:18.639 --> 00:48:20.000
Oh my god, I was forgot about that?
861
00:48:20.119 --> 00:48:20.280
Yeah?
862
00:48:20.679 --> 00:48:21.360
What was that was that?
863
00:48:21.440 --> 00:48:21.519
Like?
864
00:48:21.599 --> 00:48:23.320
I think that was the Sounds of the Underground tour
865
00:48:23.599 --> 00:48:28.159
back in the days every time I die.
866
00:48:26.719 --> 00:48:32.440
Uh, there's a lot of great bands in that show. Yeah, Shadows,
867
00:48:32.599 --> 00:48:34.559
Shadows fall, Yeah, shadows there.
868
00:48:35.079 --> 00:48:36.519
I think it was one of the years of the
869
00:48:36.519 --> 00:48:38.559
Sounds of the Underground. I think that's what that was.
870
00:48:38.760 --> 00:48:40.880
That tour lasted two or three years.
871
00:48:41.159 --> 00:48:45.159
Yeah, there's too much, too much, guys, but it was
872
00:48:45.239 --> 00:48:49.280
every band was good, Every band was good. Killed too.
873
00:48:50.159 --> 00:48:53.360
Yeah, that was a kill switch with their original was
874
00:48:53.400 --> 00:48:54.000
that awesome night?
875
00:48:54.159 --> 00:49:00.559
We had a good time going into Oh yeah, we
876
00:49:00.639 --> 00:49:05.679
forgot Sam's here? Hi Sam, just thumbs up. Hey Sam,
877
00:49:05.719 --> 00:49:08.039
what do you think about Columbus? What do you what
878
00:49:08.079 --> 00:49:10.119
do you? What are your your feelings about the game
879
00:49:10.159 --> 00:49:11.599
on Monday tomorrow.
880
00:49:12.519 --> 00:49:18.280
They're gonna be a good team. They took down right.
881
00:49:18.760 --> 00:49:20.840
I think they blew them out. I mean the Wild
882
00:49:21.079 --> 00:49:24.960
started the season shutting out Saint Louis and then they
883
00:49:25.039 --> 00:49:28.440
played the BJS and and it's Columbus Day.
884
00:49:28.719 --> 00:49:32.639
So yeah, do you think they do it? Do you
885
00:49:32.639 --> 00:49:36.480
think they do it hard over there? I don't know.
886
00:49:36.800 --> 00:49:39.039
I mean they lean into that. They're like it's our day.
887
00:49:39.320 --> 00:49:41.559
It's our day. And somebody's like that guy was not
888
00:49:41.679 --> 00:49:42.800
that good of a person.
889
00:49:42.840 --> 00:49:57.679
And they're like, now right, sorry, maybe not celebrate them
890
00:49:57.679 --> 00:49:58.239
so much.
891
00:49:58.400 --> 00:50:04.920
And they're like, oh we after a worse what are
892
00:50:04.920 --> 00:50:09.159
we gonna do? Like, maybe it's a different Columbus, Mike.
893
00:50:09.079 --> 00:50:14.840
Mike Columbus, it's christ Columbus, straight of home alone.
894
00:50:18.559 --> 00:50:23.599
Haven't heard of Kevin Columbus. Just ripped down to Christopher
895
00:50:23.599 --> 00:50:26.760
Columbus statue put it like just a regular guy standing
896
00:50:26.800 --> 00:50:29.719
there with a hammer in his hand, Like that's him,
897
00:50:29.920 --> 00:50:32.119
that's that's who made the city.
898
00:50:33.039 --> 00:50:35.039
Oh my gosh.
899
00:50:35.880 --> 00:50:40.119
Anyways, so yeah, Columbus seems like a decent team. They
900
00:50:40.119 --> 00:50:41.519
got a lot of Listen, they have a lot of
901
00:50:41.559 --> 00:50:44.320
young talent they have. They're one of those teams. God
902
00:50:44.360 --> 00:50:48.199
bless that team for keeping it together after the Johnny Goudreau,
903
00:50:48.239 --> 00:50:50.800
which I can't believe is you know, over a year
904
00:50:51.000 --> 00:50:54.719
since that happened, that Johnny and Matthew gudrou got killed,
905
00:50:54.719 --> 00:51:00.280
that horrible accident, but that you know, they they really
906
00:51:00.400 --> 00:51:03.840
rallied without, you know, with the tragedy of that loss,
907
00:51:03.920 --> 00:51:07.760
really like galvanized that team. And they're a sneaky team.
908
00:51:07.800 --> 00:51:09.039
They're one of those teams that not a lot of
909
00:51:09.039 --> 00:51:10.960
people give a lot of credit to, and it's you know,
910
00:51:12.159 --> 00:51:15.440
a lot of people to forget like Columbus. They're pretty
911
00:51:15.519 --> 00:51:19.440
damn stacked. They got they have some big time talent
912
00:51:19.480 --> 00:51:22.320
and they're fantailly like they have some big time talent
913
00:51:22.360 --> 00:51:25.039
in that team. So if you don't think it's gonna be.
914
00:51:25.000 --> 00:51:28.159
A walk in the park, for sure, they're definitely that
915
00:51:28.199 --> 00:51:30.320
team that I think a lot of people have picked
916
00:51:30.320 --> 00:51:33.760
this year to jump into the playoffs. I'm not sure
917
00:51:33.840 --> 00:51:37.000
who everyone's got picked to jump out of the playoff picture,
918
00:51:37.039 --> 00:51:40.599
but Columbus is definitely a sexy pick to get in
919
00:51:40.719 --> 00:51:43.800
this year, that's for sure, because yeah, they look they
920
00:51:43.840 --> 00:51:47.639
look good, and you're right, I think the tragedy with
921
00:51:47.719 --> 00:51:52.760
the with the Johnny it brought the team together. It
922
00:51:52.840 --> 00:51:56.039
gave him this this fight and this you know, like
923
00:51:56.039 --> 00:51:58.519
we're gonna do this for him type of feeling. But
924
00:51:58.559 --> 00:52:01.679
it really it brought them together. And they fell a
925
00:52:01.679 --> 00:52:05.440
little short of their goal last year, but man were
926
00:52:05.480 --> 00:52:07.599
they They were not only capturing the city, but they
927
00:52:07.599 --> 00:52:10.079
were capturing like the hockey world in general. Everyone was
928
00:52:10.119 --> 00:52:12.159
just kind of like, yeah, let's let's see the Blue
929
00:52:12.199 --> 00:52:15.039
Jackets in the playoffs. All right, yeah, come on, Yeah,
930
00:52:15.360 --> 00:52:18.480
so good for them. And yeah, I think they're gonna
931
00:52:18.480 --> 00:52:21.960
be a team that's gonna give a lot of people
932
00:52:22.000 --> 00:52:23.519
trouble this year, that's for sure.
933
00:52:26.480 --> 00:52:27.079
Yeah. Yeah.
934
00:52:27.119 --> 00:52:31.440
Also, the Rangers lost one nothing tonight with the Capitals.
935
00:52:32.119 --> 00:52:34.360
I don't think the Rangers have scored at at home
936
00:52:34.440 --> 00:52:34.800
at all.
937
00:52:36.000 --> 00:52:39.000
That's two games they've been shut out. Yeah.
938
00:52:39.119 --> 00:52:44.920
Wow, or Billy Dean, he's just sitting there shaking his head.
939
00:52:46.519 --> 00:52:50.119
That's it. That's all you can do. One nothing, shut out.
940
00:52:51.559 --> 00:52:56.159
Who loses one nothing anymore? Who does that? Who kind
941
00:52:56.199 --> 00:52:59.320
of lame team does that? One nothing? Watch We're gonna
942
00:52:59.320 --> 00:53:06.639
lose one nothing. Well, you named your city after a murderer.
943
00:53:11.880 --> 00:53:12.760
It's not a murderer.
944
00:53:12.800 --> 00:53:14.360
You hear what he said about.
945
00:53:16.360 --> 00:53:19.159
I's got a big picture of Columbus is my favorite.
946
00:53:20.199 --> 00:53:23.000
There's not a murderer in Tony Soprano's house. He's a hero.
947
00:53:23.559 --> 00:53:27.639
Yeah, well yeah, remember when they took the Rusher, the
948
00:53:27.679 --> 00:53:31.480
Pine Barons and Sopranos. It's an interior decorator. That's one
949
00:53:31.519 --> 00:53:34.639
of my favorite episodes of all time. He took out
950
00:53:34.719 --> 00:53:41.000
sixteen Checklebatians. The Guy's Inn aterior decorator. You see the
951
00:53:41.000 --> 00:53:42.800
inside of his house. Yeah, it looked like when I
952
00:53:43.000 --> 00:53:48.840
know you can figure out that one. Oh god, that's
953
00:53:48.960 --> 00:53:52.840
that show is so good. Oh sneaky, sneaky, funny show too.
954
00:53:53.480 --> 00:53:56.280
Yeah.
955
00:53:56.280 --> 00:53:58.039
Well, well, boys.
956
00:53:58.000 --> 00:54:00.239
I think we should probably get to uh our our
957
00:54:00.239 --> 00:54:05.880
final thoughts here on the evening thoughts and uh wrap
958
00:54:05.960 --> 00:54:10.159
this on up. I'll go first. The Devils, you know,
959
00:54:10.199 --> 00:54:13.119
are on a tough stretch here to start the season.
960
00:54:13.159 --> 00:54:17.159
We said it on Devils after Dark. Hopefully this stretch
961
00:54:17.159 --> 00:54:20.320
where they're playing, you know, was this seven out of
962
00:54:20.320 --> 00:54:24.119
eight teams that made the playoffs last year, and that
963
00:54:24.119 --> 00:54:27.320
that that eighth team is the Columbus Blue Jackets who
964
00:54:27.400 --> 00:54:28.599
just barely missed out.
965
00:54:29.119 --> 00:54:32.079
So hopefully this is.
966
00:54:32.000 --> 00:54:35.880
Something that they can kind of bond together and work
967
00:54:35.960 --> 00:54:39.280
through the injury with Dan and Off and you know
968
00:54:39.480 --> 00:54:44.440
try to just you know, gel as a team. I
969
00:54:44.440 --> 00:54:46.119
think that's gonna be the most important thing for them
970
00:54:46.159 --> 00:54:49.800
because these points, they're really important here in the beginning
971
00:54:49.840 --> 00:54:52.519
of the season. Because of the schedule, they can end
972
00:54:52.639 --> 00:54:55.400
up getting on a on a very large losing streak.
973
00:54:55.519 --> 00:54:59.079
It would not it would not be you know, surprising
974
00:54:59.119 --> 00:55:01.840
that that could happen. In this this line of teams
975
00:55:01.880 --> 00:55:05.239
that they are playing, so points are at a premium
976
00:55:05.280 --> 00:55:09.840
right now, and I just hope they continue playing like
977
00:55:09.880 --> 00:55:15.559
they did against Tampa Bay, which they won five to three.
978
00:55:15.800 --> 00:55:22.400
And in another conspiracy out there, the same person who
979
00:55:22.639 --> 00:55:27.280
sounds like Dawson Mercer who wears ducktail shirts and says, and.
980
00:55:27.320 --> 00:55:30.239
That was my team also.
981
00:55:31.480 --> 00:55:37.599
Changed the headline on the on the the ticker over
982
00:55:37.639 --> 00:55:40.599
here to say the Devil's won six to three. This
983
00:55:40.760 --> 00:55:44.400
was all you know, coming together now, brought brought to
984
00:55:44.400 --> 00:55:48.639
you by oh my goodness, who actually guessed the correct
985
00:55:48.679 --> 00:55:51.519
score of five to three, but then one Sam Wu
986
00:55:51.599 --> 00:55:58.000
put it up as sixth three. So tabotage a little
987
00:55:58.000 --> 00:56:02.039
food for thought right there, A little chicken finger in
988
00:56:02.079 --> 00:56:04.039
your pocket, or a burrito in your pocket?
989
00:56:04.800 --> 00:56:09.199
A burrito, We got that pocket burrito? You can take
990
00:56:09.199 --> 00:56:16.280
it out, Yes, yes, I do, Uh yeah. I echo
991
00:56:16.679 --> 00:56:20.119
your sentiments on the team. Just continuing off the success
992
00:56:20.159 --> 00:56:24.000
in Tampa Bay. Just keep playing that same, you know,
993
00:56:24.119 --> 00:56:27.599
pedal to the metal kind of hockey and hopefully, like
994
00:56:27.599 --> 00:56:30.320
like you said earlier in the show, Timo gets off
995
00:56:30.320 --> 00:56:32.960
to a good start. You know, having him score really
996
00:56:33.039 --> 00:56:36.519
is is a huge, huge thing. We always know March
997
00:56:36.639 --> 00:56:40.559
madness Temo comes in, but we want to see entire
998
00:56:40.639 --> 00:56:44.639
year madness of Temo. And it's good to see Jack.
999
00:56:45.239 --> 00:56:48.840
He seems like he's comfortable. You know. There's a couple
1000
00:56:48.840 --> 00:56:50.800
of times when he's going into the boards you could
1001
00:56:50.800 --> 00:56:54.960
see he still has that little slight hesitation. But the
1002
00:56:55.000 --> 00:56:58.719
boys looked good last night or whenever, yeah, last night.
1003
00:56:59.559 --> 00:57:02.280
And just hope that it carries over into the uh,
1004
00:57:03.400 --> 00:57:09.039
the land of Columbus. That's it. I just you you
1005
00:57:09.079 --> 00:57:11.199
said everything I was gonna say, so I just I'm
1006
00:57:11.239 --> 00:57:15.719
just agreeing with you. I'm gonna I'm just gonna hold
1007
00:57:15.719 --> 00:57:17.760
it like a sinnu, says Diddo, and just like hold
1008
00:57:17.760 --> 00:57:24.000
it up and be like, yes what he said. That's
1009
00:57:24.000 --> 00:57:27.559
what final thought. Did Diddo?
1010
00:57:28.320 --> 00:57:29.000
Did do? Done?
1011
00:57:31.920 --> 00:57:32.119
Ah?
1012
00:57:33.360 --> 00:57:37.199
Yeah? Uh? Looking at the schedule, Uh, tomorrow is the
1013
00:57:37.280 --> 00:57:42.000
last Metro Division opponent until November, So let's get these
1014
00:57:42.039 --> 00:57:45.320
two points. Yeah weird, we know the next Metro Division
1015
00:57:45.360 --> 00:57:50.159
opponent is November eighth, Pittsburgh at twelve thirty in the afternoon.
1016
00:57:50.159 --> 00:57:52.920
It's a rock. So get these two points tomorrow against Columbus.
1017
00:57:53.679 --> 00:57:56.559
H And as always, looking forward to at home opener
1018
00:57:56.639 --> 00:57:58.679
this week. It's gonna be a lot of fun. I
1019
00:57:58.719 --> 00:58:02.760
get to wear my brand new, my brand new jersey jersey.
1020
00:58:03.280 --> 00:58:06.199
I know, Sam Wu's favorite jersey of the mall. I
1021
00:58:06.320 --> 00:58:09.760
get to wear that, and uh yeah, everyone come out Thursday,
1022
00:58:09.840 --> 00:58:12.599
Come out Thursday. Come to American Whiskey, Say hi, say hello,
1023
00:58:12.880 --> 00:58:16.360
hang out and have a beer, and get ready to
1024
00:58:16.360 --> 00:58:18.239
wait in line as you walk in, because we can't
1025
00:58:18.719 --> 00:58:22.840
figure out letting people in the building in any timely manner.
1026
00:58:23.840 --> 00:58:24.119
Never.
1027
00:58:28.480 --> 00:58:29.440
It's so true.
1028
00:58:29.679 --> 00:58:30.199
It is so.
1029
00:58:30.400 --> 00:58:31.760
It is true. It is true.
1030
00:58:31.800 --> 00:58:34.159
People, and we go to the games all the time.
1031
00:58:34.159 --> 00:58:36.079
People do like they get up to the security gate
1032
00:58:36.079 --> 00:58:38.119
and they're like, I gotta take stuff out of my pocket?
1033
00:58:38.679 --> 00:58:39.360
What do you mean?
1034
00:58:39.840 --> 00:58:41.800
And like it shouldn't happen to you.
1035
00:58:41.840 --> 00:58:44.239
Don't have to Tampa. You can walk in with a
1036
00:58:44.239 --> 00:58:49.320
beer from outside of Tampa. That's awesome. Yeah. I thought
1037
00:58:49.360 --> 00:58:51.320
I had to chug my beer outside. Nope, I can
1038
00:58:51.360 --> 00:58:56.760
walk in with it. It was great, Tampa. Gotta go
1039
00:58:56.800 --> 00:58:57.519
about to Tampa.
1040
00:58:58.679 --> 00:59:04.360
All right, Well, we'll be at American Whiskey on opening night,
1041
00:59:06.519 --> 00:59:10.519
big stage, weather permitting. Looks like the weather's gonna be good.
1042
00:59:11.519 --> 00:59:14.480
Based on the weather report for Thursday, taut to Frank
1043
00:59:14.519 --> 00:59:22.039
the tank. Also, I want the Devils to continue their momentum.
1044
00:59:23.280 --> 00:59:28.480
They were aggressive yesterday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. They
1045
00:59:28.519 --> 00:59:34.159
got to keep that consistency, that urgency. And if look,
1046
00:59:34.320 --> 00:59:38.400
if they're a team that plays with fire, they're a
1047
00:59:38.440 --> 00:59:41.639
tough team to beat. Because this week you got the
1048
00:59:41.639 --> 00:59:46.000
Columbus Blue Jackets. That's a that's a Metropolitan Division team.
1049
00:59:46.440 --> 00:59:48.760
Then you got the back to back Stanley Cup champions
1050
00:59:49.239 --> 00:59:52.039
Florida Panthers, who are three oh and oh right now
1051
00:59:52.480 --> 00:59:57.559
coming into your building. And then on Saturday afternoon game,
1052
00:59:57.599 --> 01:00:00.880
you got the Edmonton Oilers. Conor McDavid lee on dry settle.
1053
01:00:01.400 --> 01:00:02.840
These are three there.
1054
01:00:03.239 --> 01:00:05.440
Yeah, I believe, I'll I believe I'll be there, and
1055
01:00:05.480 --> 01:00:07.000
I believe your cousin is going to be at that
1056
01:00:07.039 --> 01:00:08.599
game there, Sam.
1057
01:00:08.320 --> 01:00:12.280
Okay, I actually won't be there. I got a scheduling conflict.
1058
01:00:11.920 --> 01:00:14.360
Uh on Saturday.
1059
01:00:17.360 --> 01:00:25.400
Yeah so uh so. But and also I'll be back
1060
01:00:25.400 --> 01:00:28.920
for the Morning WU tomorrow tomorrow morning. That's that's what
1061
01:00:29.000 --> 01:00:34.199
I'm plugging, my little morning podcast. You know, I'm trying
1062
01:00:34.199 --> 01:00:35.679
to look for the button right now.
1063
01:00:37.119 --> 01:00:42.280
There we go, and.
1064
01:00:43.800 --> 01:00:45.519
I want to thank all those stooding in.
1065
01:00:46.760 --> 01:00:50.599
