BU BÖLÜM HAKKINDA
Ever wonder why you keep ending up in the same situation?
Same argument. Same result. Same story. Different year.
In this segment from the live Let's Get Real radio show, Shark and Spanish get a call from Kevin — a combat veteran, 21-year firefighter, and recovering alcoholic who's been fighting for seven months just to see his kids. What starts as a raw, real phone call turns into one of the most honest conversations about patterns, identity, and the stories we live out without even knowing it.
Kevin's story will hit you. And then the conversation that follows might hit you even harder.
Because here's the thing — most of us are running patterns we picked up before we were old enough to understand what was happening. And we don't see them until somebody we love holds up a mirror. Or until we lose something we can't get back.
Shark and Spanish get into all of it. Why we can't smell our own stuff. Why kids always know the truth. Why the first pattern you finally catch is just the file folder — and behind it is the whole cabinet.
And why seeing it — really seeing it — might be the most important thing a man can do.
No therapists. No lectures. Just real talk from two guys who've been in it.

💡 Key Takeaways
Sobriety isn't weakness — it's one of the hardest things a man can do.
Getting sober doesn't make you less of a man. Coming through the other side of addiction and still showing up? That's the definition of strength.
Kids always know. You can tell them whatever you want. They still know. The truth has a way of making itself known, even when adults think they're hiding it.
You can't see your own patterns from inside them. Most men don't discover their patterns through quiet reflection. They discover them through loss.
Through pain. Through someone finally saying enough.
The first pattern you catch is just the file folder. Behind it is the whole cabinet. Once you start looking, you can't stop — and that's actually a good thing.
Patterns don't care how strong you are. Combat vets, firefighters, coaches — everybody's running something. The question isn't whether you have patterns. It's whether you're willing to look at them.
You can break the cycle. Shark saw what he didn't want to repeat from his own dad and made a decision. It's not easy. But it's possible. And it starts with seeing it.
