In this episode of Face Value, hosts Tonia Vailas, MAI, AI-GRS, and Warren Boizot, SRA, AI-RRS, focus on one of the appraisal profession’s most critical challenges: building a sustainable pipeline of future talent.
They are joined by Akia Smith, MAI, CCIM, Chair of the Appraisal Institute’s University Relations Committee, and Richard Wolf, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS, CRE, who share how the Appraisal Institute is strengthening connections with colleges and universities nationwide and encouraging students to explore careers in appraisal.
The discussion also introduces the new Appraisal Institute University Valuation Case Challenge, a national case study competition launching at the 2026 Annual Conference in Nashville. Designed to connect top university talent with industry employers, the competition will bring students and professionals together while showcasing the analytical skills that define the appraisal profession.
Aligned with the Appraisal Institute’s commitment to appraiser-focused content, Face Value continues to engage audiences across the broader real estate industry.
