So many times children & adults with Autism level 3 are assumed to not understand directions simply because they don't follow them. Maybe it is a combination of apraxia and sensory processing disorder and we should presume competence EVEN IF that person cannot demonstrate it!
Been in practice for 37+ years! Thinking about what it was like when I first started and where things have changed, and how children have become the centerpiece of everything I do...what a wild ride it's been.
