Angela sits down with her good friend Howard Partridge, international business coach and president of Phenomenal Business Coaching. Howard went from growing up on welfare and arriving in Houston with 25 cents in his pocket to owning six successful businesses. He has also written 16 books.
In this episode, Howard breaks down ideas from his newest book, Referrals Made Simple. He explains why most business owners love referrals but have no plan for getting more of them, and shares his simple system for building real relationships that keep sending you great clients.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- Why referrals are a strategy, not a lucky break
- The 3 parts of Howard’s referral system: nurture your network, reward referrals, and build referral partners
- Why “behavior rewarded is behavior repeated”
- The one question that makes anyone instantly likable at a networking event
- How one of Howard’s clients grew to $52 million a year through referrals alone, with no advertising
- The biggest marketing mistake small businesses make (not staying in touch with past clients)
- How a virtual assistant can run your follow up so no relationship slips through the cracks
