John welcomes in our good friend Jim Bacon, of Bacon's Rebellion, to discuss the controversial choice of a rapper, Pusha T, as the headliner for Abigail Spanberger's inauguration. John & Jim delve into the implications of showcasing an artist whose lyrics promote drug culture and misogyny at a public event meant to celebrate governance. The two also express their concerns about the cultural coarsening and the normalization of such behavior in political contexts, questioning the judgment of those in power who endorse these choices. Furthermore, John & Jim talk about the broader implications of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives under the new administration, particularly focusing on the appointment of Dr. Sesha Joi Moon and the ideological shifts that may accompany it.
