Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation and Buffalo Rumblings to break down the latest Buffalo Bills practice at Highmark Stadium.
Matt shares his firsthand impressions of the atmosphere inside the new stadium, including the fan experience, pregame gathering areas and the massive turnout for a Tuesday morning practice. They also discuss the soaring resale ticket prices and why the stadium’s novelty is driving demand.
On the field, Patrick and Matt examine several developing roster battles, injury concerns and standout performances. Is Max Hairston’s starting job less secure than previously thought? Could Damar Hamlin enter the season as Buffalo’s third safety? And what should fans make of T.J. Sanders’ limited preseason role?
The guys also evaluate which players helped or hurt their stock against Carolina, including Deone Walker, Jordan Hancock, Frank Gore Jr., Dwayne Carter and the Bills’ offensive tackle depth. Plus, they debate whether Buffalo should make another significant trade before Week 1.
Key Takeaways- The new Highmark Stadium delivered an energetic atmosphere and several fan-friendly areas outside the ticketed gates.
- James Cook’s No. 20 ranking in the NFL Top 100 reflects tremendous respect, although running backs may be overrepresented.
- Von Miller’s move to Dallas makes sense because Buffalo no longer had an obvious role available for him.
- The competition at boundary cornerback could become more interesting if Max Hairston continues experiencing growing pains.
- Deone Walker and Jordan Hancock were among the biggest stock-up performers following Buffalo’s preseason game against Carolina.
- Damar Hamlin appears to have the inside track on the Bills’ third safety job.
- Buffalo may benefit more from adding veteran depth than making an expensive blockbuster trade
