Does the way we treat people actually reflect the Jesus we tell them about?
In this episode, we're digging into Colossians 3 and what it means to put off the old self and put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love.
But we're not stopping at knowing what Scripture says. We're asking what it looks like to actually live it!
We'll connect Paul's teaching to the Great Commission and look at how Jesus modeled these very qualities through His relationships with the disciples. There's so much we can learn about how Jesus loved, served, and prepared people to carry out His mission.
And we're talking about the body of Christ, too. How do we treat fellow believers? What do our words reveal about our hearts? Are we remembering that, ultimately, we are serving the Lord Christ?
A little heads-up: This episode ran a little longer than usual! But you know how it goes when you're studying God's Word and start uncovering one treasure after another. Sometimes the Bible teacher in me gets a little excited, geeks out over what I'm learning, and forgets that other people have things to do with their day! So grab your coffee and settle in. There's some good stuff here!
Let's Walk It Out — November Challenge
I'm inviting you to join me for a 30-day challenge throughout November. Spend time in God's Word each day, look for opportunities to put what you're learning into practice, and keep a simple journal or tracker.
Ask yourself:
- What did God's Word teach me today?
- Where did I have an opportunity to put that truth into practice?
- Where do I need to ask the Lord to continue transforming me?
This isn't about earning salvation or keeping score. It's about recognizing how God is transforming us as we learn to be doers of His Word.
