Lightning Minerals' Warby tungsten targets advance toward maiden drilling

Lightning Minerals Ltd managing director Troy Brice talked with Proactive about the completion of an expanded Phase 3 soil sampling program at the Warby Tungsten Project in North Queensland and the work now underway to refine targets for a maiden drill campaign.
Brice said tungsten had emerged rapidly as an exploration focus at Warby after the company initially targeted gold at the project. The latest program comprised an additional 220 soil samples collected at 25-metre intervals along lines about 125 metres apart, adding greater detail to the company’s geological dataset.
Brice also highlighted the discovery of further historical workings and visible wolframite during field activities. “Every time we go there, we find more, see more, it de-risks it for us, and we get more excited about the prospect,” he said.
Lightning Minerals plans to combine the Phase 3 assay results with LiDAR surveying and petrological analysis being undertaken by the University of New South Wales. These datasets will help improve understanding of the controls on mineralisation and support the ranking of potential drill targets for 2027.
He also provided an update on the company’s nearby gold exploration, where a Phase 2 drilling campaign was nearing completion, with assay results expected to provide the next important dataset.
