This is a recording of a parliamentary event "Preventing Disinformation in UK Elections" in April 2026 run by the politically neutral campaign group Reform Political Advertising and the Fair Elections All Party Parliamentary Group.
As campaigning enters the AI era and electoral outcomes hinge on increasingly small changes in vote share, the impact of disinformation can be decisive. This discussion brings together MPs, peers, and experts from across politics and industry to explore what can be done. With amendments to the Representation of the People Bill now being put forward, this event captures a moment of growing cross-party momentum to address one of the most pressing challenges facing UK democracy.
Featuring contributions from Hannah Spencer MP (Green Party), Justin Madders MP (Labour), Zoe Franklin MP (Liberal Democrats), Baroness Royall of Blaisdon, Emily Darlington MP (Labour), Alex Tait (Reform Political Advertising) and George Havenhand (Full Fact) the conversation focuses on practical steps to strengthen transparency and accountability in our electoral processes.
