Light does more than illuminate a room—it helps shape the atmosphere of our everyday lives. In this Love Light Reset conversation, Julie Conway welcomes Zaid Dahhaj to explore his perspective on circadian rhythm and our relationship with natural light.
From the first light of morning to the lamps we choose at night, they discuss the small details that can get lost in a busy, screen-filled day. Zaid shares what drew him into circadian education, why he distinguishes daybreak from sunrise, and how he thinks about stacking environmental cues. Julie brings her experience as a glass artist and lighting designer to a conversation about light, comfort and the spaces where we feel at ease.
ABOUT ZAID DAHHAJ
Zaid Dahhaj is a self-educated circadian biology educator and the writer behind The Circadian Classroom. IN THIS EPISODE
Julie first connected with Zaid through a shared interest in light and the environments we create around ourselves. Together, they explore morning routines, body clocks, evening habits and the pressures of modern life.
Their lighting conversation goes beyond a simple incandescent-versus-LED comparison. Zaid discusses flicker, spectrum information and why he sees a place for some circadian-adjacent LEDs, while Julie shares the importance of warmth, atmosphere and thoughtful design in her work.
The conversation also touches on his course, the role of personal curiosity and the value of asking questions without dismissing the place of medical care. Personal experiences and guest perspectives are presented as discussion, not guarantees of health outcomes.
