00:00:05.679 --> 00:00:17.120
Welcome pool guys and gals to the Let's Talk About Pools podcast, where your host, Lauren Broom, will take a splash into many topics in the pool industry to educate all aquatic professionals.
00:00:17.280 --> 00:00:20.399
Listen in, and you just might be surprised what you learn.
00:00:20.640 --> 00:00:22.640
So let's jump right in.
00:00:29.199 --> 00:00:38.799
Welcome everybody today to the Let's Talk About Pools live podcast that streamed live on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
00:00:39.039 --> 00:00:45.359
And as you may notice, I did not have my normal co-anchor Rob Stewart with me this week.
00:00:45.679 --> 00:00:47.679
He will be back definitely.
00:00:48.000 --> 00:00:56.799
He from the Great North had a lot of pool openings to do, and so could not join me for this live podcast today.
00:00:57.039 --> 00:00:58.640
Definitely missed him.
00:00:58.880 --> 00:01:02.240
So can't wait to have him back in two weeks.
00:01:02.479 --> 00:01:17.760
But what I did is I opened this up to guest co-anchors, which I think is going to be a great idea for the live podcast here and there, to have different perspectives, information from different parts of the country and different pool service pros.
00:01:17.920 --> 00:01:22.400
So I hope you guys really enjoy this live podcast episode, even though it's recorded.
00:01:22.719 --> 00:01:26.959
I had three awesome guest co-anchors on today.
00:01:27.280 --> 00:01:43.200
So let's before we jump in, say thank you to our podcast strategic sponsor, which is Pool Brain, and also to our strategic apparel sponsor for the podcast, which is Repped Up Apparel.
00:01:43.359 --> 00:01:48.079
Please check out Pool Brain before we jump right into this episode.
00:01:48.159 --> 00:01:49.840
And I hope you guys enjoy it.
00:01:50.799 --> 00:01:57.599
I talked to so many customers that are using this app for this feature, this app for this, and this app for this, and said, well, why don't you just use Pool Brain?
00:01:57.680 --> 00:01:58.319
Because we can do it all.
00:01:58.560 --> 00:02:00.079
I absolutely love Pool Brain.
00:02:00.159 --> 00:02:02.000
There's not a better app on the market.
00:02:02.159 --> 00:02:05.519
We've tested a ton of different ones, and we landed on Pool Brain for a reason.
00:02:05.680 --> 00:02:08.080
We have well over 6,000 pools on Pool Brain.
00:02:08.159 --> 00:02:12.240
We've been on a few other platforms in the past, and this one's been by far the best one we've been on.
00:02:12.479 --> 00:02:19.039
It's very intuitive and easy to use for full professionals and very obviously made for full professionals.
00:02:19.120 --> 00:02:20.479
And I really love it.
00:02:20.719 --> 00:02:23.599
I love we love full brain, baby.
00:02:24.000 --> 00:02:25.280
We love full brain.
00:02:25.599 --> 00:02:33.840
It is quite literally what I believe the future of the industry is going to be when you have a CRM focused for our industry for the service professionals.
00:02:34.000 --> 00:02:35.840
I believe that everybody wins.
00:02:55.360 --> 00:02:59.919
And I don't have my normal co-anchor today, which is Rob Stewart.
00:03:00.080 --> 00:03:03.759
He had a lot of pool openings to do, and he let me know yesterday.
00:03:03.919 --> 00:03:10.159
So I get this great idea to have guest co-anchors.
00:03:10.319 --> 00:03:13.599
So I want to introduce my three guest co-anchors today.
00:03:13.680 --> 00:03:15.599
I'm going to let them introduce themselves.
00:03:15.759 --> 00:03:16.960
I'll start with Mike.
00:03:17.120 --> 00:03:18.879
Mike, introduce yourself.
00:03:19.439 --> 00:03:22.080
Hello, thank you, Lauren, for uh for having me on this morning.
00:03:22.159 --> 00:03:22.879
I'm excited.
00:03:23.039 --> 00:03:24.400
This is gonna be fun.
00:03:24.639 --> 00:03:25.680
You are amazing.
00:03:25.840 --> 00:03:27.120
My name is Mike Sandoval.
00:03:27.439 --> 00:03:33.360
I am the founder of Above and Beyond Pool Remodeling out of Gilbert, Arizona.
00:03:33.759 --> 00:03:34.960
Awesome.
00:03:35.439 --> 00:03:39.120
And then we've got Ryan, who is also from Arizona.
00:03:39.280 --> 00:03:42.159
Go ahead and introduce yourself, Ryan, to the audience.
00:03:42.479 --> 00:03:43.199
Thank you, Lauren.
00:03:43.360 --> 00:03:44.080
What's up, everybody?
00:03:44.159 --> 00:03:45.039
My name is Ryan.
00:03:45.120 --> 00:03:48.240
I started a pool service business called Pool Rescuers.
00:03:48.319 --> 00:04:03.439
Uh, built that up to 400 pools, sold that business, took a couple years off, came back to the industry, wanted to be a solo polar, built a 50 pool route in uh one neighborhood, turned around, sold that one, and now I am Ryan with Service Lead.
00:04:03.599 --> 00:04:04.800
Thanks for having me, guys.
00:04:05.120 --> 00:04:05.759
Awesome.
00:04:06.319 --> 00:04:10.800
You're Ryan Lunsford for everybody that's over in Arizona, right?
00:04:10.960 --> 00:04:12.319
So that they know who you are.
00:04:12.719 --> 00:04:14.000
Yes, correct.
00:04:14.240 --> 00:04:17.920
And then my other, yeah, we got lots of them today.
00:04:18.079 --> 00:04:20.800
My other guest co-anchor, somebody I know very well.
00:04:20.959 --> 00:04:24.800
She lives down here near me, Denise Goo with Little Dipper Pools.
00:04:24.879 --> 00:04:26.959
Go ahead and tell everybody about you, Denise.
00:04:28.000 --> 00:04:29.360
Um, hi, I'm Denise.
00:04:29.439 --> 00:04:32.480
Um, I've got 20 years experience in the business.
00:04:32.720 --> 00:04:38.319
Um I did a lot of uh managing and running pool routes and uh for other companies.
00:04:38.399 --> 00:04:55.040
And six years ago, my husband and I, actually seven years, um my husband and I started our own uh maintenance company, little different pools, and we do startups and um maintenance and a little bit of repair, nothing crazy, but yeah.
00:04:55.600 --> 00:04:56.319
Happy to be here.
00:04:56.399 --> 00:04:57.439
Thanks for having me.
00:04:57.680 --> 00:05:03.600
Yes, so we got two from Arizona, two from Florida, me being that I'm from Florida.
00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:09.120
So, and I want to encourage anybody on the uh listening to the live to come on.
00:05:09.519 --> 00:05:14.639
Uh, Debbie the Pool joined on live Instagram.
00:05:14.720 --> 00:05:17.120
So I want to say hi to her really quick.
00:05:17.360 --> 00:05:21.120
Uh, I like to give you know kudos to people that are on.
00:05:21.279 --> 00:05:26.399
And I think it's so cool, all three of my guest co-anchors, you can see how busy they are.
00:05:26.560 --> 00:05:29.759
They're all in their vehicles this early in the morning.
00:05:30.079 --> 00:05:36.399
Being that the two in Arizona are three hours behind us, so it's like just turning 7 a.m.
00:05:36.639 --> 00:05:37.600
there, and it's 10 a.m.
00:05:37.839 --> 00:05:39.120
where me and Denise are.
00:05:39.279 --> 00:05:41.279
So she said she was on her Denise.
00:05:41.680 --> 00:05:45.120
So she was on her wayboard.
00:05:46.959 --> 00:05:50.000
So thank you for joining the live podcast.
00:05:54.000 --> 00:05:56.319
All right, I know we're gonna be a little bit.
00:05:58.879 --> 00:06:01.360
Hopefully that won't be that won't continue.
00:06:02.079 --> 00:06:02.639
What it is.
00:06:02.959 --> 00:06:03.680
What it is.
00:06:04.720 --> 00:06:06.240
We'll deal with it.
00:06:06.800 --> 00:06:13.600
All right, so I'm gonna bring up something with my guest co-anchors that I kind of pulled on them this morning.
00:06:13.839 --> 00:06:23.600
Um, I was at I've been start I started re-watching an old show called CSI, the original one that came out like in 1999-2000.
00:06:23.680 --> 00:06:27.120
It's on Hulu, so I'm watching it again, binge watching, you know.
00:06:27.360 --> 00:06:36.959
And I'm on season three, episode three this morning, before we do this live podcast, just watch part of this episode, and it drives me nuts.
00:06:37.120 --> 00:06:46.639
It had a pool guy in it, and it talked about pool stuff, and it was the main drain cover on the bottom and three screws missing.
00:06:46.800 --> 00:06:59.920
And at least three times in the episode, they called the main drain cover the filter, the cover on the filter was missing, and so you know that Hollywood gets it wrong sometimes in our industry.
00:07:00.000 --> 00:07:03.439
They didn't consult very well back in 2002.
00:07:03.920 --> 00:07:17.519
Um, but this is you know, and then how they portray the pool industry pro on in Hollywood, you know, on TV, in movies, and we all know you guys know that's not the truth, right?
00:07:17.839 --> 00:07:19.759
How do you guys feel about that?
00:07:23.600 --> 00:07:28.720
I personally love seeing pool service and pool guys in movies uh or skits online.
00:07:29.279 --> 00:07:30.959
Um, I'm with you on this one.
00:07:32.560 --> 00:07:34.800
Um they get it wrong all the time.
00:07:35.199 --> 00:07:40.639
We're getting some feedback so with other people.
00:07:41.120 --> 00:07:46.399
So other people and then so mute yourself, Denise.
00:07:49.040 --> 00:07:53.600
Mute yourself so that we don't get feedback and then we'll all one at a time.
00:07:53.759 --> 00:08:04.399
So, Ryan, you're you were sharing that you enjoy seeing Hollywood and Skits and different things, but you were feeling the same way as me about what?
00:08:04.959 --> 00:08:05.759
Yeah, absolutely.
00:08:05.920 --> 00:08:16.319
When you see it on uh on TV or on online, uh often do they get it wrong, but I always get excited when I see a pool service industry online.
00:08:16.639 --> 00:08:28.639
I know Jamie Foxx had a really cool movie where he was a pool guy and um how cool it would be to recreate his truck and and run run route in that truck that he had.
00:08:28.720 --> 00:08:29.680
It was pretty neat.
00:08:29.839 --> 00:08:34.320
And I don't know about uh you know fighting all the vampires, but possibly.
00:08:34.480 --> 00:08:36.240
I I love seeing them online.
00:08:37.039 --> 00:08:39.679
That would be an that's interesting.
00:08:40.000 --> 00:08:41.519
Have you ever seen that movie, Lauren?
00:08:41.919 --> 00:08:42.720
I have not.
00:08:42.879 --> 00:08:52.320
I've seen the one with the pool that was like it was like a thriller and it was killing people, it kept getting being sucked into the main drain or something like that.
00:08:52.399 --> 00:08:59.600
And then of course we've got the final destination four, where we got the suction disembowel, right?
00:08:59.840 --> 00:09:06.639
And it sensationalizes it, but it really does show us that we have to be careful down there at the same time, right?
00:09:06.720 --> 00:09:15.519
And take those covers seriously and looking at them when we're out there, but they're not filters, no, they're not a suction outlet.
00:09:16.960 --> 00:09:19.600
All right, Denise, what do you think about the topic?
00:09:19.759 --> 00:09:23.679
So, Ryan, you mute, and so we don't get feedback.
00:09:25.279 --> 00:09:28.799
So, yeah, I'm I mean, I feel that baby basically the same way.
00:09:28.960 --> 00:09:41.039
It's just kind of like just funny that they portray us as like these, you know, that pool people or pool it they actually usually have men, they don't have women for one.
00:09:41.519 --> 00:09:49.200
Um, and it it's just kind of like, you know, they they put them as like a sex object movies.
00:09:49.279 --> 00:09:50.559
It's just silly.
00:09:52.159 --> 00:10:20.799
And before I go to Mike, I just want anybody that's listening in live, go ahead and give us what you think on the topic about like how pool service is portrayed in Hollywood on TV, in the movies, maybe what your favorite movie is that you've seen that or show that's included something that you really liked that even if it wasn't the whole thing about a pool, about a pool service company or a tech or anything like that, that would be kind of fun.
00:10:21.120 --> 00:10:24.320
All right, Mike, give us what you think about it.
00:10:24.480 --> 00:10:27.039
Give us what you think about that topic.
00:10:28.000 --> 00:10:42.720
Well, I mean, the topic of Hollywood portraying the pool industry is something that it is, and I mean we can we can actually, I mean, I I don't want to change the subject completely, you guys, but you you got me started on this whole main drain thing, right?
00:10:42.960 --> 00:10:47.679
And I know you I know some of you on here are service people, but let's talk about the main drain thing.
00:10:47.759 --> 00:11:03.759
That's that's the first thing that stuck out in my mind because the misconception about main drains in general, not only are they not filters, but in most cases, people get the Virginia Grand Baker Act all wrong and what it is and how it works and what needs to be done to comply.
00:11:03.919 --> 00:11:22.799
I mean, that's a whole topic in itself, but I mean, um, going back to what you're talking about on topic, yes, the industry is absolutely misunderstood and mistranslated in Hollywood because I mean, there's just very little out there, you guys, about the swimming pool industry.
00:11:22.879 --> 00:11:31.360
And that's why this podcast is so good to get that out there and to inform people and educate people as to who we are and what we exactly do and what we work with, you know.
00:11:31.519 --> 00:11:35.279
Um, knowledge is not power, knowledge is actually opportunity.
00:11:35.519 --> 00:11:35.840
Okay.
00:11:36.080 --> 00:11:39.200
And with knowledge, you have an opportunity to know more and do more.
00:11:39.360 --> 00:11:56.799
And I think that's why these podcasts are great because maybe some of those misconceptions can be removed from Hollywood, but not only from Hollywood, from our commercial applications, from our government, from our register of contractors, from our homeowners who think of us and think of what we do as something different than what it actually is, you guys.
00:11:57.039 --> 00:12:01.360
Yep, and and that's and and that's largely on TV.
00:12:02.000 --> 00:12:04.639
Yes, that's right, and conventional wisdom, right?
00:12:07.440 --> 00:12:08.159
All right, good.
00:12:13.840 --> 00:12:14.559
Awesome.
00:12:14.799 --> 00:12:16.960
All right, so we're gonna that was awesome.
00:12:17.120 --> 00:12:17.919
I thought that was fun.
00:12:18.080 --> 00:12:20.159
Sorry, I threw that on you guys this morning.
00:12:20.320 --> 00:12:26.720
I didn't watch that episode until this morning, and so I was like, my husband came out while I was watching it, and he even laughed.
00:12:26.799 --> 00:12:29.759
He's not a pool guy, he was like over 10 years ago.
00:12:30.000 --> 00:12:34.559
He was doing pools on the weekend as a second job, and he even knew.
00:12:34.639 --> 00:12:37.440
And he's like, That must be driving you nuts, honey.
00:12:37.600 --> 00:12:43.840
Hearing them call that main drain, uh, the cover on the main drain, uh, calling the main drain a filter.
00:12:44.159 --> 00:12:45.279
I was like, Yep.
00:12:45.440 --> 00:12:51.519
And he did bring up a one cool thing, and Denise, you might know this one locally here.
00:12:51.919 --> 00:12:57.600
We had a pool builder though that was putting cartridge filters underneath the skimmer.
00:12:57.759 --> 00:13:01.279
Have you seen one of those in in the Palm Bay, Melbourne area?
00:13:02.480 --> 00:13:04.320
Oh, yeah, that's old school there.
00:13:04.720 --> 00:13:09.840
Yeah, that was our Aqua Blue Aqua Tech uh local company here.
00:13:10.000 --> 00:13:14.080
Uh the Underwoods, they built them in the 80s and stuff that way.
00:13:14.159 --> 00:13:19.440
And my husband was cleaning one of their older pools, and he's like, Where's the filter?
00:13:19.600 --> 00:13:22.720
He goes to the equipment and there's no cartridge filter there.
00:13:22.799 --> 00:13:26.879
And he's like, So he pulls, you know, gets back to skimmer basket.
00:13:27.039 --> 00:13:34.480
When he pulls a skimmer basket, he goes, Wait a minute, and he goes down there and pulls out the cartridge filter from underneath the skimmer, guys.
00:13:34.639 --> 00:13:37.440
So sometimes you gotta look, gotta use your eyes.
00:13:37.519 --> 00:13:45.919
But he brought that up and he wasn't like a full-time pool guy, he was working another job as an accounting tech and then cleaning pools on the weekend for extra money.
00:13:46.080 --> 00:13:50.159
So, you know, he didn't have the formal training that a lot of you have.
00:13:50.399 --> 00:13:58.399
But if you ask the questions when, where, why, what, who, and take your time and figure things out, you can do it, you know.
00:13:59.519 --> 00:14:07.679
All right, so let's get into two of you are from Arizona, Ryan and Mike, and then me and and Denise are from Florida.
00:14:07.759 --> 00:14:15.759
Let's talk about the differences in pool service and like the conditions you're working in during the summer, since we are heading into those summer months.
00:14:15.840 --> 00:14:17.840
So I'm gonna ask Ryan from Arizona.
00:14:18.000 --> 00:14:22.080
We're gonna do Arizona first, and then we'll do Florida after, okay, Denise.
00:14:22.480 --> 00:14:37.120
So, Ryan, come off mute and uh share, you know, like what you experience in Arizona or anything regionally that you think is different, Arizona, like chemicals that you use that are common down there, habits, anything like that.
00:14:37.440 --> 00:14:54.000
Yeah, so the biggest thing when I was reading the you know, the the email from last night and what we were gonna talk about was um, and it's a topic of conversation that I have quite a bit, and it's using tabs or using liquid chlorine.
00:14:54.320 --> 00:15:00.879
And when I first started my when I started my first business, um I didn't really focus much on the water chemistry.
00:15:00.960 --> 00:15:14.159
It was more getting in the office uh seat, the manager's seat, and and running a crew, and the race was on, and I really didn't get to take time to learn about the water chemistry and the way that pools actually function.
00:15:14.480 --> 00:15:20.399
Uh, and then the second time um I told myself, I'm not gonna hire any service technicians, it's just gonna be me.
00:15:20.480 --> 00:15:23.039
I'm just gonna go out there and enjoy my route.
00:15:23.519 --> 00:15:33.440
And I really focused on water chemistry, and the two things that I focused on the most was my CYA level, which I've always been really big on the CYA.
00:15:33.759 --> 00:15:41.360
And so I was messing around with the CYA levels and decided that I like them between 80 and 100 here in Arizona.
00:15:41.759 --> 00:15:48.480
And then I ditched the tabs and I wanted to know if I could use strictly liquid chlorine.
00:15:48.720 --> 00:15:54.799
And I was able to get two seasons here in Arizona um solely on liquid chlorine.
00:15:55.120 --> 00:15:56.399
I didn't use tabs.
00:15:56.639 --> 00:16:08.240
Um and the reason why I wanted to do that is because the tabs being stabilized is creating a um a non, I want my pool to be self-sustaining.
00:16:08.399 --> 00:16:17.440
I wanted that body of water to stay in that pool for as long as I possibly can, especially with the data centers coming and the water shortages and whatnot.
00:16:17.759 --> 00:16:25.759
Um, it made no sense to me to use chlorine um chlorine tabs when the CYA would go up, or trichloride rather.
00:16:26.320 --> 00:16:37.200
And so I've noticed in Florida that you guys have like chlorine stations where you can go and fill up these larger jugs of liquid chlorine.
00:16:37.600 --> 00:16:40.240
And um, so that's the biggest thing, the biggest difference.
00:16:40.320 --> 00:16:49.120
I've noticed that you guys in Florida, this is just something I may be observing and I may be wrong, but um you guys are heavier on the liquid chlorine.
00:16:49.200 --> 00:16:58.320
And I think uh and I've proven to myself that in here in Arizona, we can do that as well, even though we have four ridiculously hot months.
00:16:58.639 --> 00:17:06.400
We can switch over to the liquid chlorine, rely less on tabs, and keep a self-sustaining body of water in our pools.
00:17:06.880 --> 00:17:32.240
Yes, I I think Denise would agree that we're largely we don't like out west, you guys um like buy your boxes with your gallon jugs of chlorine, and then you turn them back in, and you get like back in the day recycling or whatever, you get a fee back for returning the bottles, they reuse the bottles, and then that's how you're getting your chlorine and stuff like that.
00:17:32.400 --> 00:17:45.200
Here in Florida, we have the yellow jerry jugs for years that they've been go to their pool distribution, and there's a spigot from the big tank, and they fill all their jugs, they pay for how many gallons, and then they go.
00:17:45.440 --> 00:17:50.880
And so it's a very different model down here than it is out west, and you're exactly right.
00:17:51.119 --> 00:18:01.920
They use a lot of liquid because they figured out uh you got stable cyanuric acid that builds up in the water from the tabs, and it's uncontrollable because it's fed with the chlorine product.
00:18:02.000 --> 00:18:23.200
And that was an 80s, 90s fad with those erosion feeders, I believe, that came out, and they didn't really understand the implications, and that's why, like and Denise will agree a lot of commercial pools down here in Florida on liquid peristaltic pumps for chlorine and acid, and there's a reason for that because you can buy cyanuric acid granular, correct, Denise?
00:18:25.200 --> 00:18:42.640
Yes, and so why use something that's gonna keep adding it when you can use a liquid chlorine pro sodium hypochlorite that has no cyanuric acid in it, add what you need, and then take your granular cyanuric acid, and you could calculate how much you're gonna add.
00:18:42.720 --> 00:18:48.799
And as long as you don't have a big leak in the pool, you get it to the level you want, it's pretty stable and it's gonna stay there.
00:18:49.039 --> 00:18:57.920
A leak is gonna add, you know, you're gonna end up with dilution because the leak lose water, homeowner adds a hose to the pool or whatever to add water, it dilutes it out.
00:18:58.079 --> 00:19:02.480
That's a key when you're doing hand feeding your cyanuric acid in.
00:19:02.720 --> 00:19:05.359
If it's not staying, you probably got a leak in the pool.
00:19:05.680 --> 00:19:10.640
And so there's a lot of things that it helps with, but you're controlling, so you don't have to drain that pool constantly.
00:19:11.039 --> 00:19:13.119
Exactly to get CYA down.
00:19:13.279 --> 00:19:13.599
Yeah.
00:19:13.920 --> 00:19:18.880
It it's it's nice to talk to you to understand that you understand that.
00:19:18.960 --> 00:19:24.240
Um, you don't have to continuously put CYA in your pool once it's there, once it's at the level.
00:19:24.559 --> 00:19:29.359
Um, I'd be interested to know what you guys like to keep it at over there in Florida here.
00:19:29.759 --> 00:19:32.240
Just hands-on experience of my own route.
00:19:32.559 --> 00:19:37.519
80 to 100 parts per million is great once it's there, assuming there's no leak in the pool.
00:19:38.160 --> 00:19:51.119
It stays that level, use the hyper uh the liquid chlorine, um, and then you can easily do a calculation on how much liquid chlorine that you need to use, and you hit that disinfect level.
00:19:51.279 --> 00:19:53.920
I like 7.5% of my CYA.
00:19:54.319 --> 00:20:02.480
Um, and during the two seasons that I ran my own pools, servicing my own pools, um, it worked incredibly well.
00:20:02.559 --> 00:20:06.799
So I think that Florida has that better than Arizona.
00:20:06.960 --> 00:20:09.759
Um, I'll give it to Florida on that one.
00:20:11.200 --> 00:20:12.319
What about Mike?
00:20:12.559 --> 00:20:14.400
What's your perspective for Arizona?
00:20:14.480 --> 00:20:17.200
And then we'll get to Denise with Florida here.
00:20:18.799 --> 00:20:19.759
All right, you guys.
00:20:19.839 --> 00:20:32.960
Um, my deal is you know, being a builder and a remodeler on the interior finishes, the interior finishes is the area in which we see the most issues, the most callbacks, and the most situations.
00:20:33.680 --> 00:20:41.680
Okay, and I'm gonna tell you right now, um, two things cause that CYA and phosphates.
00:20:41.839 --> 00:20:47.039
We're seeing CYA and phosphates just killing these interiors out there, you guys.
00:20:47.119 --> 00:20:53.200
Um, number one, because we live in Arizona, because we live in Arizona, you could imagine the uh they got this new term, right, Ryan?
00:20:53.359 --> 00:20:54.480
They call it a hubboob.
00:20:54.799 --> 00:20:58.640
Um, we we know those as we know those as monsoons.
00:20:58.880 --> 00:21:11.920
So they basically just sweep up and put a ton of dirt and minerals and garbage and debris into the air, which in then turn lands into these pools.
00:21:12.000 --> 00:21:18.000
And I don't care where you live in the Phoenix metro area, you're you you gotta watch your phosphates because your phosphates are gonna climb.
00:21:18.160 --> 00:21:32.319
Um, it's gotten better, it's gotten better over time because we've gotten better at um bringing those phosphates down in our natural tap water, but still, it's something that's gonna hit the water with the just with the air that we have.
00:21:32.480 --> 00:21:37.119
And again, CYA, that's another area we're seeing, Lauren, out of here.
00:21:37.200 --> 00:21:41.279
What I'm seeing is I'm seeing people, Ryan said it best.
00:21:41.359 --> 00:21:43.839
I mean, I say 70 to 100, but 80 to 100, there you go.
00:21:43.920 --> 00:21:46.880
That's right in that range of where people need to be.
00:21:47.119 --> 00:21:52.799
And what I'm seeing is when they do the introduction of tabs, and that's all they use.
00:21:55.279 --> 00:21:59.759
I go back and sit much here and look at staining to look.
00:22:00.160 --> 00:22:10.079
At white spots on their steps and their lounge steps, Baja steps, I'm seeing that this cyanuric acid is staining these interior finishes of these pools.
00:22:10.160 --> 00:22:12.559
And there's cyaneric acid that is over 200.
00:22:12.720 --> 00:22:14.480
When I test it, it's over 200.
00:22:14.559 --> 00:22:16.880
And I try to explain that to homeowners.
00:22:17.039 --> 00:22:20.240
And I'm and I ask them, going back to the Greg Garrett days, right?
00:22:20.480 --> 00:22:24.559
Number one question he always asked them was, What are you using for your sanitation?
00:22:24.880 --> 00:22:32.400
And 95 to 100% of the time, people are saying, I use tabs.
00:22:32.799 --> 00:22:43.759
So tabs can be very dangerous combined with phosphates, um, high phosphates in staining these brand new interior finishes that people are paying a lot of money for, you guys.
00:22:44.319 --> 00:22:48.480
That would be the biggest difference, I would say, between here and Florida.
00:22:48.720 --> 00:22:56.240
We just have more dirt, we have more stuff that's going to get in your pool that's going to cause you problems and make it harder to maintain.
00:22:56.400 --> 00:22:57.599
Guess what else that does?
00:22:57.759 --> 00:23:01.279
That naturally drives your pH up, right, Ryan?
00:23:04.480 --> 00:23:06.240
I think he is.
00:23:06.960 --> 00:23:07.599
Are you good?
00:23:07.839 --> 00:23:08.799
Are you good, Ryan?
00:23:08.960 --> 00:23:09.440
Are you nervous?
00:23:11.519 --> 00:23:12.799
I can't hear Mike.
00:23:13.759 --> 00:23:14.400
Uh oh.
00:23:14.640 --> 00:23:16.240
So Mike kind of got lost.
00:23:18.640 --> 00:23:19.839
Can you hear me now?
00:23:21.519 --> 00:23:22.400
He cannot hear you.
00:23:22.640 --> 00:23:23.359
He cannot hear you.
00:23:23.440 --> 00:23:24.400
He can hear you.
00:23:24.559 --> 00:23:26.640
Yeah, because I can hear I can hear you, Lauren.
00:23:26.960 --> 00:23:29.920
I can I can hear everybody except for I can even hear Ryan.
00:23:30.480 --> 00:23:31.200
Yeah, it's weird.
00:23:31.519 --> 00:23:32.319
Yeah, it's weird.
00:23:33.680 --> 00:23:34.079
All right.
00:23:34.160 --> 00:23:37.039
Well, I'm gonna jump over to Denise now.
00:23:37.519 --> 00:23:37.839
Okay.
00:23:38.960 --> 00:23:41.440
So I'm gonna mute you, Mike.
00:23:41.759 --> 00:23:43.920
Denise, let's talk about Florida here now.
00:23:44.000 --> 00:23:46.880
They talked a lot about Arizona and then brought up Florida.
00:23:46.960 --> 00:23:52.079
So, what do you want to add about Florida and the differences here, you think, and what goes on here?
00:23:52.880 --> 00:23:56.400
So we have a lot of phosphate issues as well.
00:23:56.559 --> 00:23:58.559
Um, we'll we'll start with that.
00:23:58.720 --> 00:24:11.440
Um, we have a lot of new building um out here in Vier and stuff, and as they build, of course, you get the winds and all that other stuff with the um throwing the phosphates in the pools.
00:24:11.519 --> 00:24:15.599
So, yeah, we we definitely have to maintain phosphates.
00:24:15.680 --> 00:24:22.400
A lot of people don't think about it, they don't um, but it's they're starting to get better with it.
00:24:22.559 --> 00:24:33.039
Um as for tabs, so when I train, we do use tabs in the summer, but we don't use them like we don't use them like every single week.
00:24:33.279 --> 00:24:35.920
Um we keep them on our CYA levels.
00:24:36.000 --> 00:24:38.960
We keep our CYA between 50 and 80.
00:24:39.039 --> 00:24:44.640
Um, if we get up over 80, our pool start um going in the chlorine box.
00:24:45.200 --> 00:24:51.680
So we kind of keep our CYAs between 50 and 80, and it usually works pretty good.
00:24:51.839 --> 00:24:56.480
Um, but we do have to use tabs in the hot months like July and August.
00:24:56.640 --> 00:25:00.720
Um, the rest of the time in the winter, I do not use them.
00:25:00.880 --> 00:25:06.079
I train when I train people, I train them not to use them in the winter, springtime.
00:25:06.240 --> 00:25:12.559
You start administrating it, you know, using like one here and there to kind of help because we have a lot of rain.
00:25:12.799 --> 00:25:21.920
Um, and then with some of that rain that we get, um, if you're not throwing a tab in that temp feeder in the summertime, your pool's gonna be green when you come back.
00:25:22.000 --> 00:25:24.160
It doesn't matter how much liquid you put in.
00:25:24.799 --> 00:25:34.319
I totally agree with that, um but so the other thing is doesn't make the zona have like high calcium levels?
00:25:39.839 --> 00:25:42.799
That area has high calcium levels.
00:25:43.680 --> 00:25:47.920
So any of you want to Mike or Ryan, who wants to share about that?
00:25:48.079 --> 00:25:50.880
That the high calcium at the high calcium levels.
00:25:51.519 --> 00:25:52.720
Go ahead, Ryan.
00:25:53.279 --> 00:25:56.880
Yeah, our water, our water is extremely hard.
00:25:57.039 --> 00:25:59.920
Um and we have a lot of issues.
00:26:00.000 --> 00:26:07.039
I mean, I know the tile cleaners um are okay with all that, but um our water is hard.
00:26:07.279 --> 00:26:11.039
You can lower it um without draining and refilling your pool.
00:26:11.279 --> 00:26:19.119
I personally like using um you know the revived uh chemical and then vac to waste to reduce that.
00:26:19.200 --> 00:26:24.880
We have a lot of RO trailers in the area that became very popular over the last couple years.
00:26:25.359 --> 00:26:58.240
And then um, you know, something to mention about the tabs, one thing that I messed around with, um, and I actually got this information from the guy who first originally introduced me to the industry, and he suggested using uh wrap tabs and here in Arizona, what you do well, one thing you're not touching the actual chlorine, but um, if you take the wrap tab and you open the just the one side up or even both sides and throw that in, um, your floater, because I know you guys are talking about feeders a lot.
00:26:58.400 --> 00:27:01.680
Feeders aren't really popular here in Arizona.
00:27:02.160 --> 00:27:05.359
Um, we rely or the tab guys rely on the floater.
00:27:05.759 --> 00:27:14.079
If you get a wrap tab and throw it in there wrapped, you can get two weeks out of your chlorine tab here in Arizona.
00:27:14.640 --> 00:27:16.240
Because it'll slowly erode, yeah.
00:27:16.559 --> 00:27:24.319
Yeah, yeah, because the chlorine with it hot um and the sun beaten down, it just evaporates, you know, it dissolves real quick.
00:27:24.480 --> 00:27:33.119
So if you give that extra layer, the water's still getting through it and it's still dispensing, but it's not dispensing it as fast or as quickly.
00:27:33.279 --> 00:27:35.440
So um that just came to mind.
00:27:35.599 --> 00:27:37.519
But yeah, our water is very hard.
00:27:37.759 --> 00:27:47.440
Um calcium levels, I would say to Mike's point, um, foundation when you're starting the pool, making sure that calcium level is dialed in.
00:27:47.599 --> 00:27:55.920
I know there's uh nanoglass and uh MPTs coming out or has that product that helps um prevent that.
00:27:56.160 --> 00:28:00.160
Um but calcium is a killer of our pools.
00:28:00.400 --> 00:28:10.559
If your water is not uh balanced correctly with the calcium, it's pulling uh the calcium out of the surface to balance itself out, and with that comes pigment.
00:28:10.720 --> 00:28:18.240
So if anybody watching or sees this and uh wants to know how to prevent that, uh nanoglass at nanoglass at MPT.
00:28:21.440 --> 00:28:23.440
All right, awesome, awesome, awesome.
00:28:23.519 --> 00:28:24.160
Thank you, Ryan.
00:28:24.319 --> 00:28:32.079
I want to say hi to I guess it's Tosti73 that joined our live Instagram.
00:28:32.160 --> 00:28:33.519
So I want to say hi to them.
00:28:33.599 --> 00:28:38.079
I like saying hi to the listeners so they feel like we're paying attention to them.
00:28:38.319 --> 00:28:43.359
I haven't had any questions, but anybody has any questions while we're on live right now.
00:28:43.440 --> 00:28:47.200
You got three awesome pool pros on here with me.
00:28:47.359 --> 00:28:48.559
Take advantage of it.
00:28:48.720 --> 00:28:51.200
Hey, pool rets worldwide.
00:28:51.359 --> 00:28:52.160
That's pretty cool.
00:28:52.319 --> 00:28:54.559
Pool Rets Worldwide is on.
00:28:54.720 --> 00:29:00.079
If you have any questions, um, of our our guest co-anchors.
00:29:00.559 --> 00:29:10.400
Um, as I said earlier, my regular co-anchor Rob Stewart got really busy up in Canada doing pool openings and said, I don't think I'm gonna make it tomorrow.
00:29:10.799 --> 00:29:11.200
Tomorrow.
00:29:11.680 --> 00:29:12.400
I solicited.
00:29:12.640 --> 00:29:23.599
I sold it out on Facebook to get to get some co-anchors, guest co-anchors, and I got three awesome people with Ryan, Denise, and Mike here.
00:29:24.160 --> 00:29:26.720
So it's been awesome talking with them.
00:29:26.960 --> 00:29:32.319
So, last topic I'm gonna bring up really quick is gonna be about startups.
00:29:32.799 --> 00:29:35.279
And we'll start with uh Denise.
00:29:35.519 --> 00:29:40.079
What is your preferred startup method for a new concrete pool?
00:29:40.319 --> 00:29:44.000
That first 30 days, which startup method do you like to use?
00:29:44.160 --> 00:29:47.279
Or for so um I use the MPC.
00:29:47.599 --> 00:29:59.759
Uh I've uh I've done the other ones, but um MPC just it it's the it's just the way that I was taught, and it's so much easier.
00:30:00.000 --> 00:30:09.119
Um you know, getting that getting that balance, you know, in the water the first five days and making sure that that everything stays good.
00:30:09.599 --> 00:30:11.440
It just it just works.
00:30:11.839 --> 00:30:29.119
Um, and then of course I'm I'm I I go the first week, um, and then I teach my customers when I'm doing their startup to help with brushing the pool and adding a little bit of acid every every day on the days that I'm not there.
00:30:29.200 --> 00:30:33.440
So I do three days a week after the first week of startup.
00:30:33.680 --> 00:30:35.279
So it kind of helps.
00:30:35.440 --> 00:30:39.279
Um, but the NPC is definitely my favorite.
00:30:39.680 --> 00:30:40.160
Awesome.
00:30:40.400 --> 00:30:44.960
And you're doing startups for uh what one or two different pool builders in the area?
00:30:45.279 --> 00:30:46.400
Yeah, two, two.
00:30:47.759 --> 00:30:49.279
Cool, that's good.
00:30:49.519 --> 00:30:52.000
Uh let's go with uh Mike Sandoval.
00:30:52.400 --> 00:30:56.720
What's your uh preferred method for startups?
00:30:57.200 --> 00:30:59.519
Oh, my preferred method it quick.
00:30:59.680 --> 00:31:02.000
Is that is that feedback is it gone already?
00:31:02.079 --> 00:31:03.680
Is it does it sound a little better?
00:31:04.000 --> 00:31:05.039
It does, yes.
00:31:05.200 --> 00:31:06.400
Okay, it was my Bluetooth.
00:31:06.640 --> 00:31:10.799
My Bluetooth was doing that, so I took the Bluetooth off, so I hope it's better now, you guys.
00:31:10.960 --> 00:31:14.480
Um like I personally like the NPC startup, you guys.
00:31:14.559 --> 00:31:21.839
Um, Greg Garrett, um, Greg Garrett was my mentor for many, many, many years, and I love the NPC startup, but there's two types of startups we got to understand.
00:31:22.000 --> 00:31:26.000
Um, as you all know, there's a startup on a new pool interior finish, right?
00:31:26.160 --> 00:31:30.160
And then there's also a startup on an existing um pool.
00:31:30.400 --> 00:31:33.759
And the one that I'm gray surface, yeah.
00:31:34.079 --> 00:31:45.279
Right, and that is one right there, you guys, and no disrespect to pool service professionals, but that is one that I was just very, very, very knowledgeable about because of Greg Garrett.
00:31:45.680 --> 00:31:58.160
And one of the first things he wanted to know when we went on a job site to troubleshoot um with an interior stain or discrepancy, he would ask the people, he would ask them what was the startup, or he would ask me, What was the startup?
00:31:58.240 --> 00:31:58.880
What was used?
00:31:58.960 --> 00:31:59.839
How was it done?
00:32:00.079 --> 00:32:01.920
And there's several reasons for that.
00:32:02.079 --> 00:32:08.799
And when you're doing a new pool startup, I guess what you have to understand is those chemicals are gonna be all out of whack, they're gonna be everywhere, okay?
00:32:08.960 --> 00:32:15.599
Um, and the reason is because in that new interior finish, it's gonna be curing underwater for the next 28 to 30 days.
00:32:15.839 --> 00:32:23.200
So as it's curing, you're gonna see some fluctuations in pH, you're gonna see some fluctuation in chlorine levels, it's just gonna absorb this stuff.
00:32:23.279 --> 00:32:25.119
It's just that's just the nature of it.
00:32:25.279 --> 00:32:31.519
Um, so that first 28 days, I always tell people, is the most important after a startup.
00:32:31.839 --> 00:32:33.680
And same thing here.
00:32:33.839 --> 00:32:53.359
We love to tell people do not stock your pool with acid, put it in incrementally so that you can slowly lower those pH levels as needed to keep that water nice, to keep it um from resisting staining, and to keep it um stable, okay.
00:32:53.599 --> 00:32:58.559
But your challenge is gonna be in that first 28 days or so because it's still curing underwater.
00:32:58.720 --> 00:33:00.960
Um, and then you gotta start up on a regular pool.
00:33:01.039 --> 00:33:04.720
I think, in my opinion, they're a little bit easier, but I still like the NPC startup.
00:33:04.799 --> 00:33:14.000
Um, I like to get everything stable, and I always tell homeowners to check that here in Arizona because, like what Ryan said, the sun is gonna burn those chemicals very, very quick.
00:33:14.160 --> 00:33:21.039
So, what we like to tell, what I like to tell people, especially in the summertime, make sure those chemicals are gonna be good for about three to five days.
00:33:21.200 --> 00:33:23.839
Five days might be pushing it in the heat of our summer.
00:33:24.000 --> 00:33:37.359
So, about three days into it, four days around there, go down to your local pool supply and or utilize your Taylor test kit to test those chemicals to make sure that you're on point and that water is stable moving forward.
00:33:37.519 --> 00:33:40.960
But to answer your question, I do like the NPC startup.
00:33:41.279 --> 00:33:42.640
Awesome, awesome.
00:33:42.799 --> 00:33:44.319
All right, we're gonna go ahead.
00:33:44.720 --> 00:33:49.759
I guess now that we don't have the feedback, you don't have to mute yourself, Mike, as long as when I get the feedback.
00:33:49.839 --> 00:33:56.960
That was hard because it come it, whatever we said came like after we said it, and your it messes with your brain.
00:33:57.119 --> 00:33:59.279
So echo, I'm sorry.
00:33:59.519 --> 00:34:03.200
And I've never had three people on with me at the same time before.
00:34:03.359 --> 00:34:09.599
My husband, you know, when I said I was doing this, but three, he's like rolled his eyes, like, oh, how's that gonna work?
00:34:09.840 --> 00:34:14.159
Okay, so Ryan, what's your preferred startup method?
00:34:14.800 --> 00:34:19.199
Being a full service, a weekly service guy, I didn't do a lot of startups.
00:34:19.280 --> 00:34:20.719
I haven't done a lot of startups.
00:34:20.800 --> 00:34:26.719
I I like to um refer guys that are doing it very well.
00:34:27.199 --> 00:34:33.519
Um, but I'm going to go against the grain on this one and say that I like the arenda.
00:34:34.239 --> 00:34:34.400
Okay.
00:34:34.639 --> 00:34:34.960
That's great.
00:34:35.920 --> 00:34:38.800
I like the um the barrel that they have.
00:34:39.280 --> 00:34:40.639
I think that's fantastic.
00:34:40.800 --> 00:34:42.719
You're measuring your water out of the tap.
00:34:43.039 --> 00:34:47.199
You know how to do the chemistry in your barrel, how much calcium you're gonna need.
00:34:47.679 --> 00:35:06.000
Um, I'm not really big on the extra chemicals that you can add in there for the reasoning of the new startups, but as long as you have the calcium and um your pH corrected, I do like the way that that barrel mixes and then um goes into the water.
00:35:06.159 --> 00:35:08.800
There's another company out here that's doing it very well.
00:35:09.039 --> 00:35:22.880
They actually put a filter at the end of the hose to catch a little bit more coming out, and then they also have a float on the hose so that as the pool fills, uh the hose is floating off the surface.
00:35:23.199 --> 00:35:25.679
Mike said it that laying on the surface, yeah.
00:35:26.000 --> 00:35:27.920
Yeah, and whipping around and whatnot.
00:35:28.320 --> 00:35:31.679
Um, Mike said it 28 days is the most crucial.
00:35:31.920 --> 00:35:36.960
A lot of these um companies, uh, everything's based off of the first 28 days.
00:35:37.039 --> 00:35:40.480
And if that's not doing if that's not correct, you're avoiding warranties.
00:35:41.119 --> 00:35:53.920
Um the nanoglass that I mentioned from NPT, um, that helps um you know fight against the imperfections that uh a nonproper startup um will have.
00:35:54.079 --> 00:36:01.039
So we're getting a little bit of uh leeway there, but definitely flinging the hose into the pool isn't the right way to do it.
00:36:01.199 --> 00:36:03.360
And I'm gonna go ahead and vote uh Arenda.
00:36:03.599 --> 00:36:05.280
I like the Arenda Barrel and the Renda Star.
00:36:05.679 --> 00:36:12.239
That's why we have three guest co-anchors, and we all can choose what we are comfortable with and what we like to do.
00:36:12.320 --> 00:36:19.440
And this is where we bring this to our industry that listeners that are listening on the podcast, so they can make their own decision.
00:36:19.679 --> 00:36:32.320
So, what I'd like to add from the educational side where I come from is both are both that were mentioned are are really good because they both have education that goes hand in hand with their procedures.
00:36:32.480 --> 00:36:39.199
So Arenda has an entire train online training thing that you can do course on their startup.
00:36:39.519 --> 00:36:41.920
NPC has an online course as well.
00:36:42.000 --> 00:36:48.719
I think Denise has probably taken it, maybe Mike has taken it either in person or online, but it's available online as well.
00:36:48.800 --> 00:36:56.880
So Arenda has one and uh and National Plaster Council is NPC, and they have the certified startup technician course.
00:36:57.119 --> 00:37:03.199
You can do it online if you can't get to uh, you know, a trade show or a local course that they're teaching.
00:37:03.360 --> 00:37:23.440
So, from the educational standpoint, both of those startup methods are awesome because they offer education so that Pool Pro knows how to do it properly the way it should be done, and hopefully you're not cutting corners either, you know, or skipping steps because they set it up a certain way, just like using your Taylor test kit or anything else, and you're following the steps.
00:37:23.599 --> 00:37:27.760
When you start skipping stuff, that's when you start getting things wrong.
00:37:27.920 --> 00:37:28.239
Okay.
00:37:28.480 --> 00:37:31.280
So from the educational standpoint, I love that.
00:37:31.760 --> 00:37:40.239
Um, I do want to say hi to 40 42 Doug, who had joined us on Instagram.
00:37:40.400 --> 00:37:54.400
So I haven't had anybody uh chime in on what their favorite startup is, but go ahead and email me at spacecoastpoolschool at yahoo.com or info at cpocertified.com.
00:37:54.480 --> 00:38:07.039
I got an a listener that emailed me uh last week from the last live podcast, and I actually ended up interviewing this person for a future recorded podcast.
00:38:07.280 --> 00:38:28.320
So anything like that, you have anything to share or join in, even if after the podcast, this this live podcast will remain live on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, but I do put the recorded version up where the podcast is listened to as well.
00:38:28.480 --> 00:38:39.039
So those that can't make it right now because they're cleaning pools and being pool pros, you know, um, they can listen to our conversation later, which is great.
00:38:39.199 --> 00:38:43.199
I want to give everybody the option to listen into what we had to talk about.
00:38:44.719 --> 00:38:56.480
So I want to I want to say thank you guys for joining uh as my first set of guest co-anchors, and you know, let us know, uh audience, how you liked this.
00:38:56.639 --> 00:38:59.119
Did you like the guest co-anchor idea?
00:38:59.280 --> 00:39:01.840
And maybe we'll continue doing this.
00:39:02.079 --> 00:39:07.920
I know people were pretty excited about doing it yesterday when I put it up on Facebook.
00:39:08.400 --> 00:39:09.920
It was like me, me.
00:39:10.079 --> 00:39:12.639
I was getting memes going me, me.
00:39:12.880 --> 00:39:20.000
I think yours was like uh like pointing at yourself, it was like a point down on on yourself kind of a thing.
00:39:20.079 --> 00:39:20.800
I don't know, Ryan.
00:39:20.960 --> 00:39:21.920
You put up a funny one.
00:39:22.239 --> 00:39:23.679
I put a face ventura.
00:39:24.639 --> 00:39:26.079
Yeah, there you go.
00:39:26.239 --> 00:39:27.360
That was yours.
00:39:27.599 --> 00:39:28.800
So it was wonderful.
00:39:28.960 --> 00:39:31.599
Thank you guys uh for being on today.
00:39:31.760 --> 00:39:36.639
And how did you guys enjoy being co-anchors on the live podcast today?
00:39:37.519 --> 00:39:38.800
I thought it was great, Lauren.
00:39:39.119 --> 00:39:39.840
Thought it was great.
00:39:39.920 --> 00:39:41.119
Uh, definitely new for me.
00:39:41.280 --> 00:39:48.000
Thought it was great, that it was just a bunch of information for for people to be able to go back to this and to review.
00:39:48.159 --> 00:39:54.559
Um, I love how you introduced um the difference between the two states, and then of course the difference between the two uh startups.
00:39:54.719 --> 00:39:57.280
Um, I thought that's all good information that a lot of people can use.
00:39:57.360 --> 00:39:58.159
Absolutely.
00:39:58.480 --> 00:40:06.239
I love seeing that you guys are showing everybody that you stop for a minute, but how busy our industry is.
00:40:06.400 --> 00:40:13.039
You're in your vehicles, you took a moment to do this, but this is the real pool pro out there.
00:40:13.199 --> 00:40:17.119
You're out and about, you get out early, and you're working really hard.
00:40:17.280 --> 00:40:21.119
So I want to say thank you as we're heading into the hot summer months.
00:40:21.280 --> 00:40:27.280
And you guys stay well hydrated and and cover your don't you know cover your skin and everything.
00:40:27.360 --> 00:40:28.719
Take care of yourselves, guys.
00:40:29.119 --> 00:40:31.119
Lauren, thanks so much for having us on.
00:40:31.280 --> 00:40:32.400
Uh, great topics.
00:40:32.719 --> 00:40:35.679
When I saw that you invited people, I I had to.
00:40:35.760 --> 00:40:38.000
I love listening into your your podcast.
00:40:38.159 --> 00:40:42.719
I think um I think you're great and you have such a good understanding of the industry.
00:40:43.039 --> 00:40:50.159
Shout out to AZ Pool Text, um everybody out here in Arizona and uh Florida too, Florida.
00:40:50.239 --> 00:40:53.119
Um, I would love to be out in Florida and service a pool sometimes.
00:40:53.360 --> 00:40:54.400
Thanks for having me, Lauren.
00:40:54.559 --> 00:40:55.199
It was awesome.
00:40:55.679 --> 00:40:57.920
AZ Pool Text Facebook group.
00:40:58.079 --> 00:41:00.719
Whoever it was, you need to unblock me.
00:41:00.960 --> 00:41:10.880
I can't in the keys group.
00:41:11.119 --> 00:41:17.199
So whoever it is, if you're listening, let me back into the AZ pool text group.
00:41:17.280 --> 00:41:22.639
I'm in the hostile, I'm in the hostile takeover one, but I'm not in the regular one.
00:41:24.480 --> 00:41:28.239
I want to be back in the Arizona pool tech group.
00:41:28.320 --> 00:41:28.960
Please let me in.
00:41:31.599 --> 00:41:32.880
If you figure it out, let me know.
00:41:32.960 --> 00:41:34.239
Because I want back too.
00:41:34.559 --> 00:41:36.159
Mike knows who it is.
00:41:36.400 --> 00:41:36.880
Yeah.
00:41:37.119 --> 00:41:38.400
Mike, what's up, Mike?
00:41:38.639 --> 00:41:39.039
I will.
00:41:39.119 --> 00:41:41.199
We, you guys, we've got a group set up here recently.
00:41:41.280 --> 00:41:46.880
We got a group set up recently, all the admins, and there's a lot of stuff that we that they want to talk about and that we need to talk about.
00:41:47.039 --> 00:42:00.320
And um, these are some of the things we need to talk about, just because um, you know, we're all do we're all working during the day, we're all busy doing what it is we do, and some people think that we um collaborate on some stuff or we spend our time just saying, keep that person out or keep this person out.
00:42:00.480 --> 00:42:01.760
At the end of the day, we don't do that.
00:42:01.920 --> 00:42:03.920
In fact, I don't even deal with that at all.
00:42:04.000 --> 00:42:13.039
Um, my thing is when I go through that, I just want to be a great inspiration and positive, um, you know, positive post all day long when I do that.
00:42:13.119 --> 00:42:15.039
But if I see some negativity, I'll delete it.
00:42:15.119 --> 00:42:22.719
But I don't get into the the the the politics of AZ full text, but we will talk about it and see what's going on moving forward, and I'll put it out there.
00:42:22.800 --> 00:42:23.599
You guys are wonderful.
00:42:23.679 --> 00:42:24.000
Thank you.
00:42:25.360 --> 00:42:25.920
Thanks so much, man.
00:42:26.000 --> 00:42:26.400
I appreciate it.
00:42:26.639 --> 00:42:27.360
Thank you, Denise.
00:42:27.760 --> 00:42:28.960
Do you have thank you?
00:42:30.159 --> 00:42:31.519
Do you have any final thoughts?
00:42:31.760 --> 00:42:33.360
Do you have any final thoughts?
00:42:34.159 --> 00:42:34.960
This is great.
00:42:35.119 --> 00:42:38.800
I mean, uh, I appreciate you putting me on here.
00:42:38.960 --> 00:42:44.719
Um, I've never done anything like this, so um, you know, I'm still kind of shy when it comes to certain things.
00:42:50.320 --> 00:43:11.599
Um, and it was great kind of fun, you know, hearing about the difference in them in Arizona because I I trained it, I trained a technician that moved here um about eight years ago when he came from Arizona and he was telling me all about it, you know, how different the water and everything was out there and how different it was here.
00:43:11.760 --> 00:43:26.000
You know, so it's kind of it's kind of cool to you know learn more about uh the other states and um what they do and you know so I'm always I'm always liking to learn, learning, always learning.
00:43:27.760 --> 00:43:32.159
This this is our our goodbye, my guest co-anchors.
00:43:32.400 --> 00:43:37.199
Thank you for joining the Let's Talk About Fools Live podcast today, which is only the third one.
00:43:37.360 --> 00:43:40.079
Hopefully, we'll gain more traction as we go.
00:43:40.239 --> 00:43:45.679
