00:00:00
Speaker 1: Kaboom! Ilhan Omar seems to be in trouble. And guess what, everyone? She has actually resurfaced. She's no longer in hiding. She has made a public appearance of sorts with a organization linked to a terror group. We'll give you that in a sec. But first, here's the latest on this investigation delivered to you by Fox News Channel.
00:00:26
Speaker 2: Federal investigators last week, according to three sources familiar with the investigation, she voluntarily spoke with investigators after the high-profile raid on the residence of Omar's shares with her husband in Washington, D.C. This, as we learned, authorities have her DNA as part of their probe into her citizenship, though it is unclear how they got the DNA. They also have her personal passport to use as evidence in the investigation. And they do believe she is still in the United States. Fox News legal editor Kerry Irvine joins us now. OK, Kerry, we were talking offline. What do you think the DOJ is doing here? It looks like there is a profile that they're trying to build of the entire family.
00:01:11
Speaker 3: Why?
00:01:12
Speaker 4: I think they're trying to establish if this family is who they say they are. You know, this goes back to the father, and there are a lot of questions about how they came over, how he got naturalized, what his past military service actually looked like in Somalia. Did he misrepresent that? What Omar's age actually was when she became naturalized? You know, who she's related to. There have been allegations about marrying her brother so he could obtain citizenship. And so I think the DNA piece... assuming that reporting is correct, is for them to keep on hand in case they need to get, say, a court order later on to match DNA from someone else. They're clearly building a case for immigration fraud in general, and there are a number of ways they can go at that.
00:01:53
Speaker 2: So, Carrie, you know, you even have former President Obama criticizing the investigation. He's a lawyer. He understands the legal standards. if they lied to get citizenship in this country, how big of a crime is that?
00:02:09
Speaker 4: Well, it's a significant one. And the Department of Justice has been cracking down on naturalization fraud over this last year. So this is reflective of something they've already actually been doing. In fact, they have been successfully prosecuting people who came over here in years past who lied about, for instance, past military service. They claimed they were the oppressed and received asylum as a result. In fact, they were the oppressor and they were engaged in war crimes and things like that, which, of course, would make you automatically ineligible to become a citizen here in this country, given that Omar's father was a colonel in the Somalia Civil War. And there and apparently for a brutal dictator at the time, I think that's an immediate big question mark. But Lawrence, going to your question about former President Obama, you know, we have to remember a really important fact here. At this point, two different judges, have signed off on seizing information and materials from both a sitting member of Congress. and that sitting member's sister. Two different judges, two different areas. This is not something to be.
00:03:12
Speaker 5: Overlooked, right?
00:03:13
Speaker 4: The judges are typically really reticent to delve into the personal stuff, so to speak, of people who are in Congress and, you know, and then throw into that the fact that it could be perceived as a Donald Trump project. Judges are going to be looking at this skeptically. So the fact that you have two sign-offs indicates to me that whatever was presented to them was pretty compelling in terms of evidence or they would never have said OK to it.
00:03:41
Speaker 1: That's right. And let me just say the question there that Lawrence asked was, let's say they lied on their immigration forms to gain citizenship into the United States. Is that really a big deal? And on other cable stations, on other streaming shows, you'll actually see people saying, oh, everybody does that.
00:04:00
Speaker 3: No big deal.
00:04:02
Speaker 1: It's theft. It's theft of something pretty precious. Citizenship. When you lie, I mean, it's bad enough that your first action on the soil of the United States of America, where you are coming from a foreign country, your first action is to violate our laws with regard to basic border security and basic immigration protocols. It's like, oh, you want to sneak into our country? Could you at least, you know, sign the book on your way into this cheap hotel? Right? No, not even that. You won't even give us that, huh? But But secondarily, you know, they say, oh, well, you know, it's no big deal. Everybody does it. And you'll see I've got a lot of apologists for Ilhan Omar who aren't even stipulating the facts anymore. They're saying, oh, sure, maybe her dad lied on the forums, but she was a kid when that happened. In other words, yeah. They lied and they stole citizenship for this person. If you're a nation and you stand for something. Well, maybe that is, in fact, a big deal. Why does that question even need to be asked? We're going to get back to that video in just 30 seconds. But first, the people we elect this year will decide the future of Social Security. Now, that's money we earned with a lifetime of hard work. And older Americans need it now more than ever to pay for groceries and prescriptions. Now, you may not agree with AARP on every issue, but they are standing up for Social Security. And you can, too. Raise your hand as a social security voter. Sign on at AARP.org slash social security voter. That's AARP.org slash social security voter. Now, back to the video. That's how dumbed down the criminal justice system has become in this country. Oh, sure, sure, sure. They lied to gain citizenship in this country coming from a war-torn nation, and they could have actually been the bad guys over in that war, but Is that really a big deal? The fact that the question is asked is part of the problem right now. Also, keep an eye on that DNA thing. Why would they need DNA, let alone the question of how they got Ilhan Omar's DNA? But why would they need it? Well, what do you use DNA for? Obviously, to prove the identity of somebody at the scene of a crime, a la OJ Simpson or something like that. The other reason you would want DNA is to confirm family relationships, right? Like, for instance, is that sister really your sister? Is that guy you said was your father really your father and is your husband your brother? Jesse Waters, last night.
00:06:37
Speaker 6: Fox News alert. The scope of World War XI just got much more clear. Fox News reports the feds don't just have Ilhan Omar's passport. They also have her DNA. Now, we don't know how they got it, but it's likely they're going to test it against her ex-husband to see if he's really her brother. Sibling DNA matches are basically like 99.99999% accurate. Too bad she can't hire Johnny Cochran.
00:07:03
Speaker 1: God rest his soul.
00:07:05
Speaker 6: Speaking of family, we now know what put agents inside Ilhan Omar's house last week. Turns out the feds didn't need a tip line.
00:07:13
Speaker 1: They just needed a phone. Omar's sisters.
00:07:16
Speaker 6: They seized it earlier this year. Sara Noor, remember her? The author and global health leader. who took in $ 20 million from USAID and other spots. The New York Times says the family texts on her phone gave investigators enough to convince a Democrat judge to sign that warrant. But Congressman Comer says it wasn't just the phone. Her financial disclosure was super suspicious.
00:07:44
Speaker 7: Not only was there a huge discrepancy in the financial disclosure form, there was the winery that was the big base of her $ 25 million home listing on her financial disclosure form. That winery has, according to the press, been shut down because of fraud. They were apparently selling investors barrels of wine to be aged, but there was nothing in the barrels.
00:08:09
Speaker 6: The name of the wine? The Devil's Lie. This case could also go in the direction of money laundering. Barack Obama waited a week and then said he was appalled at the Omar raid. I'm more appalled that she might have committed fraud and stolen money, but that's just me.
00:08:28
Speaker 1: Well said, Jesse.
00:08:29
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:08:29
Speaker 1: And according to the Daily Mail and Fox News, this DNA evidence. Well, it proves, according to this report, the evidence found in Ilhan Omar case proves that she did, in fact, marry her brother. That would be a scam. That would be fraud. That would again. Stealing citizenship, it's theft and it's punishable by stripping your citizenship and deportation, especially if you perpetuated the fraud on an ongoing basis. Kind of important, isn't it? Now, apologists will say, listen, listen, this was really all. I don't think her father had anything to do with her sister, her daughter marrying her brother. But who knows? He may have engineered that, too, just to gain citizenship for a member of the family. Stranger things have happened. But also the whole introduction of Ilhan Omar as a U.S. citizen apparently happened at the hands of her father, who had gained citizenship. And you might want to look into his history in Somalia because there's a lot of competing stories about whose side of the war he was on and what he did when he was in Somalia. But the question is whether he falsified her age when he applied for her citizenship, either as a minor or as an adult. But then there's a new wrinkle in this, and that comes from the USCIS and the Department of Homeland Security, who apparently say now that the citizenship records for Ilhan Omar's father don't exist. You see, they're doing this investigation and they're trying to figure out why. her age was when allegedly her father filled out her forms as she's a minor so then they have to pull up her father's citizenship forms and they can't find them no record of his naturalization exists ilhan omar claims citizenship through her father but if no record exists how can she be a u.s citizen of her father was never a U.S. citizenship. Meanwhile, the Washington Post kind of inadvertently has added a new wrinkle to this investigation. Remember when the raid started and everyone's like, what could they be looking for? And we told you it could be at least five different things, if not more. Yes, it could be immigration. Yes, it could be fraud with the Feeding Our Future Foundation there over in Minneapolis. It could be The money, the fiscal and financial disclosures for her campaign and the $ 30 million that was just an accounting error. It could be a whole lot of stuff. And now there's this one. Washington Post, according to our friend Will Chamberlain, says while attempting to exonerate Ilhan Omar, they actually reported some incredibly new damning information. Ilhan Omar's second husband, the one alleged to be her brother, applied for a green card, was asked about the marriage, and then suddenly he withdrew the application.
00:11:14
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:11:16
Speaker 1: At the time, the agency was primarily focused on possible fraud related to Omar's marriage to her former husband, Ahmed Nour Saeed Elmi. Right-wing commentators had repeatedly pressed on substantiated claims that Omar and Elmi were siblings who carried out a sham marriage so that Elmi could obtain U.S. immigration benefits. Elmi had previously filed an immigration petition related to his marriage-based green card. In other words... I'm from Somalia. I married a U.S. citizen. I've got my green card. But now I would like citizenship because, you know, that's how a lot of people end up becoming citizens. They come from a foreign country. They, you know, hoodwink some American citizen into marrying them. And then they gain their citizenship that way. Although this scenario wasn't a hoodwink. She was complicit in the whole thing because apparently it was her brother. So she filed an immigration petition related to the marriage-based green card that would move it from conditional status to permanent. And then USCIS requested additional evidence due to concerns over the validity of the marriage. And then what did he do? Did he produce any evidence to confirm the validity of the marriage? No, he withdrew his application for a permanent green card following that request. Elmi could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday. Not surprised. Getting interesting, isn't it? Now, one thing I mentioned over the course of the last week since the raid on her home in D.C. is that Ilhan Omar has been missing in action, even though Rashida Tlaib and all these other Democrats who are running out and defending her without question unconditionally. I don't know what the truth of this matter is, but I know that Trump's a racist is basically their argument. They've all said, well, she will not be intimidated. She will not be bullied. She will not be silenced. And we made note of the fact that for seven days she has been, in fact, silent. This is a woman who, well, the most dangerous place in Washington, D.C., is between Ilhan Omar and a camera lens. She can't get enough publicity. She can't get enough television hits. She can't get enough interviews with friendly media outlets. But even now, under all of this, she won't even sit with Rachel Maddow or Jake Tapper because she knows she would have to answer a question or two. This is Ilhan Omar's communications team taking a backseat to her legal team. I assure you, the reason you have not seen anything from Ilhan Omar is not because her press people said, yeah, maybe you should lay low. It's because her legal advisors have said, shut the F up. But she has been seen now. Finally, after all of that time, she's in the state of Washington. And she did answer a couple of questions or at least speak on camera. But it wasn't to a journalist. It wasn't to a reporter. It wasn't to a podcaster. It wasn't to a streamer. It was to a representative from CARE. Yeah, that's right. CARE, the Council on American Islamic Relations. You'll remember them. They were named as unindicted co-conspirators in a couple of investigations in the United States of America over money laundering for terrorist organizations. Yes. This is where Ilhan Omar has been hanging out with CARE.
00:14:26
Speaker 8: So as the first Somali woman in Congress and one of the first two Muslim women in Congress, beyond representation, what does the fight for justice mean for you? And also, why are civil rights organizations like CARE so important for the work that you do?
00:14:39
Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry. All of this is nonsense, because as you just saw from the note, this was recorded before her home was raided. Oh, sorry. Forget I said anything. For all we know, she did flee the country. This was before the raid. She's still missing. I'm so sorry. I apologize. We regret the error. Ilhan Omar is still missing. Now, for a summary sort of encapsulation of how the radical left is covering this story, I give you this 20 plus second clip. perfect little taste of what's going on over in blue sky world and crazy left-wing media this is joy reed of course who was so bad even msnbc had to fire her so she started her little sub stack she started her little podcast and here's joy reed's perfect encapsulation of where we are right now in american politics from her demented perspective enjoy.
00:15:45
Speaker 5: Elon's making flying cars and purchasing Texas, trying to buy himself a senator. And all of this, you on the right are supposed to keep letting them keep doing this because Ilhan Omar, her deceased father might have filled out a form wrong when she was like seven. And therefore she needs to be in jail or deported.
00:16:10
Speaker 1: There you go. I mean, that summarizes it perfectly. If this is where you're getting your news and information, you understand why your friends who do, in fact, get their news and information from outlets like this don't quite understand exactly what's going on in news and in American politics. But it explains everything, doesn't it? The president, by the way, at his rally yesterday in Kansas had a little bit to say about Ilhan Omar as well.
00:16:43
Speaker 7: Abdul.
00:16:44
Speaker 8: You have Ilhan Omar.
00:16:46
Speaker 3: How about her? She comes from maybe the worst country in the entire world, Somalia. They have no government. They have nothing. All they do is shoot each other. And she comes over here and starts quoting, I have constitutional rights, the constitution.
00:17:09
Speaker 1: This country, and she hates our country.
00:17:12
Speaker 3: She is so pathetic. Rashida Tlaib. How about that beauty? Rashida Tlaib. AOC. AOC. I like AOC better. You know, she's doing her thing.
00:17:27
Speaker 1: James Tala.
00:17:28
Speaker 3: How about, who is now losing, by the way, Ken Paxton is winning in Texas. Because people got wise to James Talafico.
00:17:42
Speaker 1: There you go, a little summary of the congressman and senator candidates there from the left for the Democrats, but starting with Ilhan Omar. That's the latest on the Ilhan Omar investigation and how it's being covered on the left. Stay tuned for more developments. And, gosh, I mean, what do you get a woman who marries her husband on her wedding day? Is there a protocol for that? I'm not sure. Still don't want to know about how they got the DNA evidence, though.
Speaker 1: Kaboom! Ilhan Omar seems to be in trouble. And guess what, everyone? She has actually resurfaced. She's no longer in hiding.
