1 Chronicles 28 explained. David gathers the leaders of Israel and publicly commissions Solomon to build the temple that David had prepared for.
David explains that God chose Solomon to build His house and establish his kingdom. He gives Solomon the plans for the temple and its furnishings, which he received according to God's direction.
David then gives Solomon a powerful charge: “Be strong and courageous, and do the work.” He urges him to seek the Lord, obey His commandments, and remain faithful.
1 Chronicles 28 highlights God's calling, obedience, preparation, and the importance of passing faith to the next generation. David's words also remind us that God's work ultimately depends on God's provision and faithfulness.
The temple points forward to Jesus Christ, who is the true and greater dwelling place of God with His people.
