Cthulhu Cthommentary: In the Mouth of Madness (1994)

The Call of Cthulhu Mystery Program’s Cthulhu Cthommentary Arcane Advent concludes and rings in the New Year In the Mouth of Madness.

Prepare to have your reality shattered in John Carpenter and Michael De Luca's love letter to H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King. Join showrunner Cat Blackard, Keeper Luke Stram, Omniverse's Doug Banks, and illustrator Jarrod on a nightmarish road trip that'll leave you forever changed. This film is no clear-cut adaptation, but our Cthommentary unpacks it's significant inspiration from specific Lovecraft stories and even stories that inspired Lovecraft; as well as the film's commentary on the influence of media and perceived reality in a way that's chillingly more poignant in the decades since it debuted.

In addition to these public Arcane Advent releases, there's a whole new batch of Lovecraftian cinema Cthommentary episodes coming exclusively to Patreon and Supporting Cast. Join us at cthulhumystery.com/support
