A subdued VIX and a still-strong call-buying mentality in options suggest that seasonal September weakness won't come as much into play this year, says Cameron Dawson. Even if there is a notable pullback, Cameron sees it as a buying opportunity. She points to earnings growth curbing S&P 500 (SPX) valuations as a key signal that the stock market remains resilient even as crude oil and Treasury yields rise. Speaking on oil, Cameron notes that while crude is off its 2026 highs, diesel is at an all-time high, something she sees hitting U.S. consumers.
