OM DETTA AVSNITT
First Graphene Limited commercial manager Neil Armstrong talked with Proactive about the company's first production order from US footwear company Flux Footwear, marking an expansion of its PureGRAPH® graphene materials into the global sports and leisure footwear market.
Armstrong explained that Flux Footwear approached First Graphene seeking a more reliable source of graphene for its established Graphene-Pro footwear range. With the product already on the market, the focus was on finding a supplier that could meet specific material requirements and support existing demand.
Armstrong highlighted the importance of scalable production, noting that First Graphene's facility in Western Australia has 100 tonnes of annual production capacity and a modular design to accommodate potential expansion.
There is potential for graphene in the wider sports footwear market, particularly where durability, wear resistance and product performance are important considerations. Although each pair of shoes may contain only a small quantity of graphene, Armstrong explained that large footwear production volumes could create meaningful demand for advanced materials.
First Graphene has previously worked with Steel Blue in Australia and PT Alasmas Berkat Utama in Indonesia on safety footwear applications. Armstrong discussed how these projects have helped establish manufacturing knowledge and commercial experience that can be transferred to new customers and other sectors.
