Packers Total Access: 🏈 PACKERS GET MORE GREAT NEWS! What Does It Mean For Packers vs. Cowboys SNF?

The pregame roster news heading into tonight’s Sunday Night Football showdown at Lambeau Field keeps getting better — and the most important individual offensive development of the entire week just became official before kickoff! Savion Williams has been ACTIVATED off injured reserve and will make his 2026 season debut tonight against the Dallas Cowboys — the second-year TCU product who LaFleur specifically highlighted this week as a player who has “grown the most as a route runner” heading into his first regular-season action of the year. Williams practiced on a limited basis throughout the week and looks healthy and ready to go after opening his 21-day return window on October 7th. The inactives are officially in — the Cowboys are only missing cornerback Cobie Durant on their list, with the rest of Dallas’ healthy roster available. The Packers are missing Javon Hargrave (IR/Achilles), Benjamin St-Juste (CB), Skyy Moore (IR/ankle), and Jonathan Ford (IR) — with Arron Mosby and Coleman Owen elevated from the practice squad as the gameday additions. Brandon Cisse (hip) is questionable but expected to play. The Packers’ defensive line is down to four legitimate players up front — Devonte Wyatt, Chris McClellan, Dani Dennis-Sutton, and whoever else is available in rotation — and the Cowboys’ offensive line that includes CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens is the most dangerous individual receiving corps Green Bay has defended all season. But the great news is real, it’s specific, and it’s happening tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET.

In this complete Packers-get-more-great-news pregame breakdown and full what-does-it-mean-for-SNF evaluation, we dive into:

• Savion Williams Activated — The Great News And What It Means Tonight: Williams is making his 2026 season debut after missing all five games with an ankle injury suffered in the second preseason game at Denver. LaFleur highlighted Williams’ route-running growth this week and noted the different positions Green Bay has deployed him — the versatility of a slot-capable, boundary-capable, jet-sweep-capable second-year receiver is exactly what the Cowboys’ 30th-ranked pass defense represents as the most favorable individual matchup for a new weapon. Williams caught 10 passes on 10 targets for 78 yards and a touchdown as a rookie last season. He was the sixth receiver on a loaded depth chart. Tonight, with Jayden Reed on IR and Skyy Moore on IR, he walks into the third or fourth receiver role on Sunday Night Football against a Dallas secondary that is statistically the worst in the NFL. LaFleur said he “felt good” in Friday’s practice. The season debut is here.
• The Full Inactives Picture — What Each Team Is Working With: Cowboys: Only Cobie Durant (CB/hamstring) is inactive — meaning Dak Prescott has CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Javonte Williams, and a healthy offensive line for Sunday night. Dallas is the only team in the NFL without an interception through five games — and Jordan Love is coming off the second-most deep-passing yards in a single game in the Next Gen Stats era. Packers: Hargrave (IR), St-Juste (CB), Moore (IR), Ford (IR) are out — with Brandon Cisse questionable with a hip but expected to play, Arron Mosby elevated for edge depth, and Coleman Owen elevated to handle kick and punt returns with Moore on IR. The Packers are down to four healthy DTs — the most undermanned individual defensive position on the roster heading into the most important defensive assignment of the season.
• The Defensive Line Crisis And Why It Matters Against Dallas: With Hargrave and Ford both on IR and Anthony Campbell limited all season with an ankle, the Packers are deploying Devonte Wyatt, Chris McClellan, and the available rotation against an offensive line protecting Dak Prescott that has six sacks allowed and is generating 7.2 yards per passing attempt. Dani Dennis-Sutton at edge is the most important individual pass rusher on the field tonight — with the Cowboys’ only CB inactive being Cobie Durant, meaning Tyler Guyton will likely face Dennis-Sutton all night. Packernet.com put it bluntly: “The Packers are down to four up front, and Dallas is coming to Lambeau.” The championship urgency of tonight’s defensive performance cannot be overstated.
• What The Great News Means For The Game — The Full SNF Picture: Savion Williams activated. Josh Jacobs coming off the exempt list tomorrow. Micah Parsons doing strenuous running with a brace on the practice field. Jordan Love in a flow state. The Packers are 10-1-1 in the last 12 meetings against Dallas at Lambeau Field. The Cowboys are last in the NFL in EPA per play on defense and the only team without an interception. The most complete individual offensive arsenal Green Bay has deployed in any game all season — Watson, Golden, Williams, Kraft — faces a Dallas secondary that has never been more vulnerable. And the most electrifying SNF atmosphere at Lambeau Field in the LaFleur era kicks off at 8:20 p.m. ET tonight. Go Pack Go!
