OM DETTA AVSNITT
On today’s episode of Off the Roster, Dan Riccio, Lindsay Dunn, and Brent Albrecht recap Saturday night’s Battle of Ontario between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, as the Leafs drop to 1-2 on the season. The crew breaks down what went wrong for Toronto, whether there are any legitimate early-season concerns surrounding the team, the continued struggles of the Maple Leafs’ second line, and whether Toronto may eventually need to look at an upgrade on John Tavares. They also discuss Sergei Bobrovsky’s start in a Maple Leafs uniform, how Toronto’s defence has performed through the opening games of the season, and what needs to improve as the Leafs look to find some consistency. Steve Simmons joins the show to go around the Toronto sports scene, with a heavy focus on the Maple Leafs’ weekend, Gavin McKenna and John Tavares, Darren Raddysh’s early struggles, and what Toronto needs to fix moving forward. Simmons also weighs in on the Toronto Blue Jays’ end-of-season media availability, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s reported “injury,” and expectations for the Toronto Raptors heading into the upcoming NBA season. Plus, Dan, Lindsay, and Brent go Around the Weekend to break down the biggest stories from across the sports world.
